FYI, for anyone considering this on an X-Drive vehicle such as an N57 X5, it's a monumental pain in the ass to do yourself. To get the DPF out requires you to drop the subframe and to wrestle nearly every single bolt out leading up to the DPF in the most uncomfortable positions imaginable. BMW really goes out of their way to ensure that accessing the DPF and everything in between is as difficult as humanly possible. I'm about 12 hours into the job as somebody that has never worked on cars, and I'm still not done. For an average joe without a lift, this will easily be a multi-day project. So far, I've removed all of the under panels, removed the entire exhaust, removed the entire intake system for easier access from the top, dropped the subframe, removed a motor mount, removed the motor mount arm and have raised the engine to give me the access I need. Also gutted my SCR (cut it open, took the stuffing out and welded it back together) for an OEM look. Right now, I'm struggling to wrestle the DPF out, turns out that the sensors on the filter are baked in and are preventing me from sliding the DPF out of the giant gaping hole I created. I had to order specialty sensor removal sockets, and if those don't work, I foresee myself taking an angle grinder to them and replacing them with new sensors once the DPF is out. If removing the sensors still doesn't work, I will have to cut the vacuum hose tubes attached to the DPF with said angle grinder. And if that doesn't work, I'm going to borrow the JAWS of death from the local fire department and will rip this filter out one way or another. I feel like if you can remove a DPF from a newer x-drive vehicle, you can just about do anything. I've really learned a lot. Or... Simply drive to Canada and pay $4000 for someone to do this for you. If that was an option, I'd do it.
are you serious i mean its only a 40hp 60 ft pound diffrence im thinking about buying one for my 328d because the intake looks like a chimney stack and i would much rather just rebuild my transfer case first if its going to be a problem
It’s not a transfer case issue bud. It’s a flex disc issue. If you haven’t don’t so already, replace your aluminum guibo with a rubber one ASAP and add some loctite to the flanges. This has proven to solve the “transfer case” issue
Amazing! But this vid is all about sound. What I'm assuming is 0-60 is improved as well as mpg. Can I get some numbers side by side, before and after I'm getting a 328D wagon this winter soon at the auction. If you own a 328, this is a REQUIRED piece of equipment, a no brainer. You spend $60k, then cheap out on this HUGE improvement?
MPG and 0-60 definitely improved. We did two of these, one customer's mileage went from 7.1L/100km to 6.4L/100km. We don't have a measurement of 0-60, but acceleration and power are noticeably improved. We have a DIY video coming soon for installing one of these deletes, so keep an eye out for that video!
I just did this exact same thing. Def/dpf/scr delete and stage 2 tune. I sent them my ecu to get tuned before the exhaust was installed, and now I’m still throwing a code for CEL. But when you run the code it says there’s no code but the light is still on. I reconnected the battery as well and the light is still on. Do I have to disconnect anything to clear this code? Thanks
It's barely noticeable inside with the windows shut, mostly just a little growl from the exhaust. Windows open you can definitely hear the turbo whistle!
Do you have to do the stage 2 tune? I have no desire to make more power, just don’t want all the emissions crap. Is it possible to just do a delete and “regular” tune mostly to erase the CEL?
MPG increases from this yes, it's a combination of the tune and removing the restrictive exhaust components. Our employee's car gained 3-4 MPG from this
What do you think of the Exhaust Sound once deleted? 🚗💨
Soot good! Makes me wanna delete all the DPF's
does the kit go back to stock mufflers or just right to tips
What do you think of the stage four TuneZilla for this car?

Informative breakdown of the process! Appreciate the f31 content!
Just ordered mine. Very excited.
I have a 328d I want to tune and delete but don’t have the budget for it
I'm coming to see you soon with my x3 bmw
See you soon!
Add another bonus is you get to buy a new transfer case because the increase in power will tear it apart

I have a 2014 328d with the check engine light on the dealer said it has to have a new dpf so I want to do the full delete and tuning
Just had this happen to me gonna cost $5,400 from the dealer or I can just delete
Great content as always!

Thats pretty neat.

So what are hp/tq numbers looking like??
Can you send a link to buy the parts for a 2014 BMW 328d 🙏🏻
i just got this same year 328d Wagon do you have a full parts listed needed for this delete.
Here is the link for the kit t3-performance.ca/shop/exhaust/turbo-back/rawtek-dpf-scr-def-delete-exhaust-bmw-n47-328d/
Definitely planning on doing this with my 328d sedan, but does it make a difference if I have the xdrive or is it all the same
All the same :)
Did you use Sport Mode on all those runs?
Awesome! Would love to delete the egr as well any suggestions?
EGR and Intake flap deletes are on their way for the Vehicle! Stay tuned for when those videos come out!

Hey Jordan. Make sure you are scanning the car with a good scanner for codes that might not show up with a generic scanner.
@@T3PerformanceCanada awesome! Thanks so much for the reply I appreciate it!
How is the sound in cabin? Would love to hear a real world test of that!
It's barely noticeable inside with the windows shut, mostly just a little growl from the exhaust. Windows open you can definitely hear the turbo whistle!
Any drone?
Would there be any noticeable gains from adding a CAI and just removing the muffler only?? Not a full delete
The more restrictive parts of the system are the DPF and Cat. So you will see more gains with removing those.
Do you have to do the stage 2 tune? I have no desire to make more power, just don’t want all the emissions crap. Is it possible to just do a delete and “regular” tune mostly to erase the CEL?
Tunezilla has an eco option as well which is just disabling the dpf/scr/egr, no performance gains...
Is that just straight pipe or with resonator ?
This is straight pipped and mates to the stock muffler.
Do you know where I can get a blow off valve made for the 328d?
Or diverter valve? Heard that’s possibly better
That’s so awesome
We think so too!
how would this delete and tune effect CT emissions in the US?
Highly illegal
The Obama meme😂😂
Do you get better MPG with this tune ?
MPG increases from this yes, it's a combination of the tune and removing the restrictive exhaust components. Our employee's car gained 3-4 MPG from this
If this system is so great, why is it blowing black smoke?
I spent $1300 on a tune from tunzilla and it's horrible, not worth it
I had mine tuned by ChipTuning (JR Automotive) and it's been excellent. Highly recommend them.
Why don’t you like it?
Which JR Automotive? I’m in California. Many populate
