The M2 is the modern e46 M3, thats why its so great

I own a 328d and I can’t recommend it enough.

Recommend it as well (135k miles on my 2014). Definitely expect to make use of the 10yr/120k emissions warranty. Otherwise a great car!!
Have 130k on mine and she’s wonderful still. Emissions is/was a problem. But it did 50k with a kerma on it before issues arised but thankfully there’s aftermarket support for a lot less than the dealer (they “fixed” it and it blew a second EGR cooler on the drive home)
The m2 is just more of a overall daily package

The diesel would make better sense as a wagon. But also bmw make an x range for light offroad work.

Both are some killer cars but I would go for the track build because off-roading isn’t my thing. Also: VIP or Kyusha

If you have emissions still kerma is probably the best imo. Otherwise the big names are about the same when it’s deleted. Unless you go dark side, but that’s a whole nother tax bracket

@@henryfears I believe it just requires the strut spacers and a realignment, but I ended up selling my 328i GT and got a JCW Countryman, so am going down a more rally-inspired route (and a couple companies have lift kits for this one already)
