Great video, I’m loving the pan faced delivery and nuggets of priceless info about those giants of entertainment. I have to admit I do quite like Oklahoma, must seek out a scuffed up vintage copy minus the inner sleeve, as up to this point I’ve been denying myself the full audiophile experience.

I had grandparents in Toronto, and in the early 80s on visits I would make my dad tune the car radio into CFNY when we were close enough to the city limits on the highway 401. My parents only listened to jazz and orchestra, but he would humor me and tune into my requested station despite his dislike for any modern music.
I know Brockville. I had a similar battle with my parents over the radio. CFNY was a life-changing station. I still have very fond memories of the old CFNY. When that station faltered, it was the end of radio for me.
I am only familiar to Barry Manilow, and that is because he got very famous in Brazil after the hit Copacabana. My mother used to have some of his records, but they are long gone. His ballads were great for teenage romance ;)

I finished up with a list of 130-plus (keeping to one album per artist) ... Did you know that Barry Manilow's first producer Ron Dante was the lead singer in the Archies? ... I think Engelbert Humperdinck kept the Beatles' 'Hey Jude' off the number one spot in the UK singles chart ... I realise it's the 1st April; but I guess you must actually like these artists. Either way, a great video. If you haven't done so already, you should check out Jeff Whitcher's channel. He is the master of deadpan delivery. The first video of his that I saw I was convinced that he actually believed Billy Joel was a big influence on punk.
I have a list of my top 125 records from the 80s. One day, I may do a video. I have to confess that I do not like any of these records, and so my knowledge is limited. I had no idea that Ron Dante produced Manilow, and I didn't know that Humperdinck kept the Beatles out of the #1 spot. I have watched some Jeff Witcher's hilarious videos. He really has it down. Everyone always gave me shit about my love of Manilow! They called me gay but recognize I am a musician through and through and Manilow was such an incredible artists! His musical theory set me up for musical appreciation for my whole life! I was exiled from my family when I was 13 yo, sent to Maine, and I got my first job at 13 and was 3000 miles from my family that pretty much threw me away and in walked my soon to be first GF! Long story short Weekend In New England will always have special meaning to me! Now as far as Dan Hill you have to get his self titled album! So amazing!!! Such a sentimental singer/songwriter just like Manilow! Incredible!!!!
Is the song you really connect with on the Dan Hill song "Fountain"? The best and amazing version of this was from Don Potter, Chuck Mangioies guitarist! Such an incredible musician and emotive singer! He also sings an incredible version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"!!!
