TitanIsBack One only requires distractions if he cannot conceal himself. Though calling in an Extraction elswhere is a good idea, unless you can utilise stealth then you're gonna have a bad time.
+Southern Fried In the closed beta I would just run around calling in extractions at all four spots. No one could find out what was going on. They kept chasing and chasing. I was laughing so hard. With the full game it'll be interesting to see if we stay in the same session through the entire Dark Zone or not. I imagine with about 25 people or so per session that it'll be pretty easy to get an extraction all the way across the map without much bother.
TitanIsBack Now that's a fine trolling my good sir, better than that twat Arrekz who gets two groups of four and goes around mudering everyone in sight just for laughs. I hate that ginger twat.
+Travis Davids So True during the closed beta I played 2 roles by myself 1) being the nice guy 2) being the Jerk let's just say I gotten death threats over a closed beta from players lol (Also about 89% of the time at least on PS4 you will most likely be attacked by other players)
+Travis Davids i think the only way people are going to rage, quit or leave nasty messages is if they really don't know how to pvp or go rogue, i think the best way is to kite keep moving.
It seemed to work ok in DayZ but I don't know if it will in the division. I think most console players will end up being rogue and just a few will play the nice role.
Yeah it seems you would get more kills going rogue, if you go in a group your most likely to stay in the open and get killed faster than being kinda stealthy.
How to save New York when The Division agents are killing each other for loot? The marketing trailers bill the player as a hero, but the game encourages you to become a villain. So what is the endgame? It's just one person with the best loot standing on top of a mountain of corpses, friend or foe.
Ummmm yeah it does. You get xp, their loot bag, cash, and keys. Plus they keep a tally of the best rogue players. The penalty is for like 90 seconds you are wanted, survive that and you’re in the clear.
+Danny Gandar This has been my experience (on pc) most of the time...people team up to kill rogues a LOT more often than they GO rogue themselves...great community!
Really enjoy this one, the voice is clear and adds a little bit of fun to the gameplay. besides the fact that you can tell that the guy knows his DZ stuff XDD anyway great work and great video Agent...
Don't mind the rogues really. Whats annoying are certain spots in the DZ that have only one way to get to and makes it difficult for people to take them out. The most common strategy I saw rogues doing is to camp on top of any building with only one entry point and kill anyone walking around that street. You can't flank them, only way to hurt them is to shoot right in front of them where they are all looking at, and even if you manage to down one, the guy next to him/her will immediately revive them. I'm hoping the abilities that were not part of the beta will help alleviate this or make sure there is not a popular camp spot that is abused by adding in more than one way to get to it.
Dominate in the dark zone . 1 Hopefully you don't run into a hacker. 2 . Hopefully you don't run into a group of people who exploited a bug and now have end game gear giving them a massive advantage over legit players.
While going rogue may seem fun to some players, I find that working together let's everyone benefit a lot more. Another thing, who goes in the extraction Zone all at once and have no one watching their backs? I see rogue agents more like trolls, a fun concept but I am sure it's not fun on the receiving end when you have tons of superior loot only to lose it to some douchebag who'd rather take the easy route than working for the good loot. I usually go into the DZ with 3 or 4 other players and we tend to scout the area or take turns guarding from a safe distance rather than all rushing the extraction chopper all at once, that's like shooting fish in a barrel.
+JessNW0lfG4NG I know, right? And people complain about "How shitty the game is" I also need friends to team up with, yet none of them play it. I find it difficult to play DZ alone, also scary sometimes.
i dont know how long he spent in the DZ but to generate fund fast and efficiently. going rogue is last thing you wanted to do. you lose more then you gain more often. hunting rogues is the optimal method.
+AngweStrife Yeah and really nobody acts like this. (On the pc version Atleast), People were just Rogue hunting. If you were walking with a player but then you turn rogue, they will shoot you. If you're not rogue, you are not likely to be shot often.
+Faintedsquirtle Yep, the majority of my PC experience in the Dark Zone was spent looking for rouges. When I ran across other players they also were just looking for rouges... After a while though I said fk it and became the rouge
The art of going rogue 101 tips & tricks. I love this game but not gone into the DZ just yet, as I've just started the game a few hours in. But I will definitely be going into the DZ at some point, I'll be spending hundreds of hours with The Division & there year one DLC will keep me going for months to come.
What makes the DZ a tense place is the open world chat. If your not in a group chat like Xbox Party or whatever playstation uses, once you run close enough to another player you can openly talk amongs them with no need to connect to them. think of it as a bubble. you can openly talk to any player (thats not in a group chat) if they are in like 100 feet of you. Once they pass through your bubble, you cant hear them anymore, but just running by and saying 'whatsup' is common place. Although having everyone in the dark zone able to talk to you in an engagement is a bold move. There will be ALOT of nasty things passed back and forth.
I run up to them and tap "view player" as fast as possible followed by "invite to group" i find it flatters most "iffy" looking people and tends to make them a friend rather than a paranoid "possible future enemy" trust me it works like a charm. Much better than awkwardly starring at each other wondering if the other ones trying to jump you or if he's waiting for the extraction too. lol
+richard huynh sorta wrong. The biggest reason why going rogue or killing rogues is important is for the dz funds + experience. The items they carry doesn't matter.
that moment in the dz when you get sandwiched between two huge AI groups in a shootout with no useful cover, no med kits, and low health......... when in doubt run like hell and hope you don't get shot
Also something that worked for me is to avoid all human contact, when you get something good to to dz 1 west extraction point and start it and sit in the subwayWhen it gets to thirty or twenty seconds use a pulse to see if anyone is waiting, if they are just run and wait for a while then try again
im guessing that as soon as you get in to the Dark Zone you just need to start trying to kill any one you see there's no point in trying to make allies unless you brought them with you
I really like these tips about the Dark Zone from Division's Dark Zone where the Dark Zone is a good place to get Dark Zone points. .................. the joke is that he said dark zone a lot.
I always follow one rule when I am in the dark zone. If there are more the 2 people at the extraction point besides your squad or yourself, avoid extraction or kill them off.
Shoot at their feet and sc are them into shooting you and when they go rogue kill them for a quick loot gain. Also if you see some poor sap doing an emote toss an incendiary, sticky bomb/mine, and aim center mass for a good mag dump.. just don't do it with more than two other agents around. I did it just messing around with rogue and lost everything in a few seconds from the five agents around. Rogue also works best in a group.. to keep your timer up rotate the role of "bullet to the knee" and shoot him with your weakest sidearm in the knee/foot so he won't die. Did this for awhile with a group of 8/9. Eventually though we had a group come after us and we all ended up rogue. We got good loot though. Rogue is worth the challenge as a solo or group.
Even if you get your DZ funds taken from you upon your demise, no big deal as you can exchange your in game currency for DZ funds, provided your base of operations has a certain upgrade in the Tech Wing. Also there really is no need to actually venture through the Dark Zone (aside from DZ ops, discovering territories, and unlocking safe houses and vendors) as the game makes it easy for players to acquire higher quality gear such as purples at your base of operations once your Tech Wing has a certain upgrade. As far as legendaries go, as long as you have the aforementioned Tech Wing upgrade you can exchange your in game currency for DZ currency and purchase those awesome legendaries at will!
I found it very interesting in the dark zone I own this game for the Xbox one and only encountered 3 bad rouge agents everyone else has been good to me the game is awesome
If being chased by rogues, set down a seeker mine equipped with fire bombs and a flame turret. the rogues will have a problem sprinting to track you. then run for the farthest hiding hole.
I was in a group of 4 then two Rouge's came and helped us by leveling up and getting some great gear. We were able to do the supply drop the 1st and 2nd time. The third time they killed all of us lol.
All I've learned from the DZ, is that unless you want to spend ALL your time doing PvP, you shouldn't waste your time going there cuz you'll never get anything extracted unless you're willing to be more of a bully, than the bullies already in there.
crimsonwolf911 Nah, you just need a team. Rogues barely ever bother you when they see you running with a full team of 4. If your running solo, then yeah, rogues will kill you on sight. I never run into the DZ solo, unless I'm gathering Div Tech.
This game looks super fun i love third person shooter games, I hope that Microsoft and Xbox One will extend the free open beta longer than the 21st. So that all gamers young and old, new and veterans players can all enjoy the beta together including myself
I learned to prioritize my target. Like kill the player that seemed to be the most tanky or the one with the highest DPS first, when they're in groups. Only going off of what I could tell when they were in combat was difficult to learn but it really helps.
This just supports my policy for not forming anything more than a temporary alliance with people you don't know IRL. That way they're less likely to kill you, and if they do you can get them back later.
make sure your friends are grouped up. dont just meet someone in the DZ and call them a friend. its better to role w/ guys u have already been playing w/. (less chance of them turning on you. more chance of them watching your gear for you)
I play solo most of my time, so going rouge wasn't an option, running was my best bet. equip a grande while running will make you more agile and you will run faster, that is my share of tips from the beta, see you at launch agents

going subway when rogue isnt really a good idea, maybe it was early in the beta, people dont know the place, but in the last few hours of the beta every rogue running to the subway ended up being quickly surrounded and killed more easily than the other option. The city offer more escape route and if you really need to make a stand there are a few good spot on the map with only one entrance so you cannot be surrounded.
I've noticed in the ps4 one (I'm not sure how it is for other platforms) that the dark zone has too many people so if you go rogue you almost always get hunted by everyone.
3:35 Shoot, man- High end gear at DZ level 12 during the beta? Hell, now the game doesn't even trust me with SUPERIOR knee-pads until I'm friggin' DZ level 30.
It's hard when you first enter the dank zone on March 31st and everyone is already happy with their gear and make it a mission to make sure I can only sneak one purple out a day :/
This was like the best quality IGN video i've seen in like as long as I remember? where'd you get this guy?
I know right, this video was informative, funny, but most importantly, profesionaly made. Awesome job.
+RazorCamel They found him in the Dead Zone
There's only one way to dominate the DZ, get two groups of four and gank everyone in sight like a bunch of pricks.
+Southern Fried More like get a friend to call in a chopper while you're at another. Distraction will be key.
nah a group of 12 c; and 4 sit at a pick up zone lol and the other 8 patrol the surrounding area XD
TitanIsBack One only requires distractions if he cannot conceal himself. Though calling in an Extraction elswhere is a good idea, unless you can utilise stealth then you're gonna have a bad time.

A quality ign video? Who is this guy?!
+James Duggan - Awesome vid man! Glad to see you still making vids!
I don't understand this game! It might just be over my head I guess. I die entirely way too easily!!!
dont turn rogue. If youre going to kill a player, kill a rogue. It makes you feel like a hero and productive.
Lucas Jordan But where's the fun in that?
I feel like the DZ is going to cause a lot of people to rage quit and receive some nasty messages.
+Travis Davids So True during the closed beta I played 2 roles by myself 1) being the nice guy 2) being the Jerk let's just say I gotten death threats over a closed beta from players lol (Also about 89% of the time at least on PS4 you will most likely be attacked by other players)

When everyone is putting their loot on the heli and a grenade comes from nowhere.
Lmao Ikr
lmao
Or a incendiary grenade and a 8000 dog sticky bomb.
+Game Head 2 That moment when the Grenade doesn't actually kill them and the loot flies away
My body is ready for this game.
+eZROFLxX Funny. I played the alpha and closed beta, and still Get hyped!
Don't listen to that guy, this game is mad fun. Played for over 30 hours haha
+Noah Revo You can download the beta now!
Jake Williams comparing to destiny smh
+Jake Williams So you found Destiny to be fun?

*''Don't Trust Anyone''*
First thing i do is find a team of 4 random
DanielEDITS me too but also kill ppl
I hate people who just run to you and instantly try to kill you. Pretty annoying.
Is it just me or is everyone I run into in the DZ incredibly friendly and works together. Moreover, I'm on the 2nd tier of the DZ
+Danny Gandar This has been my experience (on pc) most of the time...people team up to kill rogues a LOT more often than they GO rogue themselves...great community!
A very well done video. I think we've found our Division coverage go-to guy. Keep it up James!
Really enjoy this one, the voice is clear and adds a little bit of fun to the gameplay. besides the fact that you can tell that the guy knows his DZ stuff XDD anyway great work and great video Agent...

Just got the game yesterday and ready to start today. Thanks for the tips
i dont know how long he spent in the DZ but to generate fund fast and efficiently. going rogue is last thing you wanted to do. you lose more then you gain more often. hunting rogues is the optimal method.

Amazing work by the narrator. Please, IGN, more of this guy.
I seriously can not remember a game that ate me up like this one. I played every day of the open beta, and I can't wait to get back there.
See, this is why I sub to IGN. Every once in a while we will get a video like this.
sony and microsoft are going to make a lot of money on controllers.
I run up to them and tap "view player" as fast as possible followed by "invite to group" i find it flatters most "iffy" looking people and tends to make them a friend rather than a paranoid "possible future enemy" trust me it works like a charm. Much better than awkwardly starring at each other wondering if the other ones trying to jump you or if he's waiting for the extraction too. lol
This narrator was a gift from the commentary gods
What are the music tracks in this video?
Great video! This James guy is awesome
Man.... the meaning of the DZ isnt always to go rogue,
risk vs reward. sure you can die when your extracting. but why not kill some guy and get more loot? especially if that person is alone or. some noob
+richard huynh sorta wrong. The biggest reason why going rogue or killing rogues is important is for the dz funds + experience. The items they carry doesn't matter.
"james is a pimp and makes ign shine" -ghandi
Damn...If only I had somebody to play with..oh well. Back to "Wheel of Fortune-Division Edition"
that moment in the dz when you get sandwiched between two huge AI groups in a shootout with no useful cover, no med kits, and low health......... when in doubt run like hell and hope you don't get shot

I play on Xbox and I must say 95% of players won't shoot and they 40% ask if you are friendly whilst you are rogue. Nice community :)
+NovaGen HD Agreed. Similar experience myself (except on PC).
I learned to always keep at least two lookouts on the extractions during the closed beta
This video genuinely encapsulates what it means to be in the dark zone
This really is a good video. Thanks
Playing this single player....and loving it!!! Hope there's single player content on the way.
I really like these tips about the Dark Zone from Division's Dark Zone where the Dark Zone is a good place to get Dark Zone points. .................. the joke is that he said dark zone a lot.
Went into Dark Zone for the first time as a Level 13, came a cross two Rogue agents on Manhunt, had to run away from every NPC, lessons learned
BEST TIPS EVER THANK U
This looks so freaking amazing.
I always follow one rule when I am in the dark zone. If there are more the 2 people at the extraction point besides your squad or yourself, avoid extraction or kill them off.

i have seen 2 groups of 4 team up twice to make a group of 8 people. oddly enough they were super friendly and helped me extract :P
I can't wait any longer I want this game!
I know IGN hypes up the game and tells us positive things about the game, and still gives it a 6.
Even if you get your DZ funds taken from you upon your demise, no big deal as you can exchange your in game currency for DZ funds, provided your base of operations has a certain upgrade in the Tech Wing. Good job IGN, make sure this is a shoot on sight game.
Is the online servers back online now for the free beta?
If being chased by rogues, set down a seeker mine equipped with fire bombs and a flame turret. the rogues will have a problem sprinting to track you. then run for the farthest hiding hole.
I was in a group of 4 then two Rouge's came and helped us by leveling up and getting some great gear. We were able to do the supply drop the 1st and 2nd time. The third time they killed all of us lol.
What gun are you using is that SCAR-L?
Lesson #1: Never go into the DZ alone. Lesson #2: When you have their backs turned to you firmly plant your dagger into them.
Best observation/ Tip. Kill enough while rogue and nobody will want to fight you anymore
Use combat medic and the critical save. If you are below your last third and you use the med kit you will be on full health instantly.
I do the EXACT same thing!
very thancks you😉
is there split screen in this game?
Great video, except the Rogues nowadays are usually running Classified Striker or Nomad with the House or a maxed out LWM4. 😂
ayyyyy open beta this weekend!❤
SENT SHOTGUN OP OP MAN LOVE IT SO MUCH!
Always try to have the advantage when your shooting like hight, npc in the way, or other players in the way, ALL WAYS RESTOCK
the dark zone scares me.
anyone ever played Runescape and being in the wilderness? this brings back scary memories
I played the closed beta but I never figured out how to use incindiary or explosive ammo on ps4
duse anyone whant to play the division to do the dark zone or free roam or missions
Rooniesempai
YouImWatchingYou
Friend request and I'll play
This just supports my policy for not forming anything more than a temporary alliance with people you don't know IRL. That way they're less likely to kill you, and if they do you can get them back later.
make sure your friends are grouped up. dont just meet someone in the DZ and call them a friend. its better to role w/ guys u have already been playing w/. (less chance of them turning on you. more chance of them watching your gear for you)
went into the DR and a random guy was taking on like 11 NPC and I decided I'd help him, from that point we never left one another until we left the DZ
I am going to play as "white knight"...I always play as myself in RPGs so ;D
***** Nice :3!
when the open beta goes live guns are going to start poppin off in the dark zone💯
Nice video!
"When in doubt, run" Thanks IGN- I guess I'll be running non-stop then. I'm gonna be the friggin' "Forest Gump" of the DIVISION

All of these worked for me
Want to team up? Don't use surrender or wave or salute, use jumping jacks.
I play solo most of my time, so going rouge wasn't an option, running was my best bet. equip a grande while running will make you more agile and you will run faster, that is my share of tips from the beta, see you at launch agents
+Itai Schadmi the grenade tip is patched so you don't run faster.
We were with 8 friends in the dark zone ionce and it was hell of a fun xD .
We dominated the Beta Dark Zone.
can't wait to hope back in division
hop
This game looks pretty good
I've learned that I should NEVER go Rouge, I would (instead to account for it) make fake extractions to lure people who aren't Rouge yet, but are looking into it. then when they proceed to shoot me or something I quickly heal the damage and fire back with a LMG, suppressing them (this doesn't always work though)
The game is out and no one really pvps but this is the guy to do it during a boss battle and then gets wrecked by the players and the boss
going subway when rogue isnt really a good idea, maybe it was early in the beta, people dont know the place, but in the last few hours of the beta every rogue running to the subway ended up being quickly surrounded and killed more easily than the other option.
+ACManga When the full game comes out there will be more areas available to explore. That being said, you'll have more room to run around and escape.
Do you lose your weapons that you go in with from outside of the dz when you die in the dz? Because that's my only worry...
No, you only lose what you carry in yellow bag(loot), experience, money and dz keys if you have any.
can we play pvp on ps4 with xbox 1
Here's what I've learnt from the dark zone don't go unless all your gear is high end
does the open beta means, free beta?
Number 8
Get all your friends and camp spawn
That really isn't cool man ...-_- In some games you can get kicked , it's besides the rules .
+Nickolas Pambucoglu can't get kicked in the division
+Jetpack 34 I know , but not cool , not at all . I spawn , I get killed . Not a chance .
Hi guys, I was just wondering what level I need to be to play with my level 30 friend in the dark zone. Any answers would be appreciated :)
Nice narrator though! Great voice, keeps the interest on. Not like other IGN staff. More from him please!!!
when we get killed in the darkzone, do we lose ALL our Dz funds? or just a bit of it?
3:35 Shoot, man- High end gear at DZ level 12 during the beta? Hell, now the game doesn't even trust me with SUPERIOR knee-pads until I'm friggin' DZ level 30.
+Rogue Doge During the BETA, DZ level 12 was the max.
TheWarReptilian Ohhhhh yeaaaah... forgot about that.
What is the maximum reward when you survive Rogue Status Rank 5? Has anyone ever achieved it at all?
what gun is he using?
It's hard when you first enter the dank zone on March 31st and everyone is already happy with their gear and make it a mission to make sure I can only sneak one purple out a day :/
I can't wait , can we have the 8th of march today already
