You don't have to wait until 30 to hit the darkzone its better to go in around 15 to get your experience in there and rank up. During the grind till you hit 30 your going to need some of that great loot in there to make things easier and as long as you match make with 3 others going in at a lower level is fine.

Lucian Wolf True, True. I played the betas. Closed and open. Got to level 12 in beta. Bout as far as you can get give or take a level considering you only have access to so much at that time. Kind of peeved you have to restart with the full game. But, I'm at level 15 now and I haven't picked the game back up for 9 days now. Its a great game. But after an hour or two of gameplay it just gets repetitive. I'll eventually pick it back up again. Only to repeat the process lol.
***** my biggest problem with the game is the lack of interesting enemy combat which is replaced by bullet sponges and the fact that there is no adaption to be able to beat the named enemies (bosses) you do the exact same thing as with other enemy npc's just longer
I would recommend going into the Dark Zone early on and getting those points and leveling up (it is very quick). That way, you don't have to grind up to DZ level thirty when you get to regular level thirty, you'll already have a head start.
there are tiers on the dark zone. 0-14 15-19 etc etc. So you can basically enter the dark zone straight at lvl 10, and be competitive, enemies will be lvl 10-14 and players will be lvl 1 thru 14. Once you hit lvl 15 then you move to the next tier, lvl 15-19 ,there you will find enemies at lvl 15+ and players at lvl 15 thru 19. etc etc. If you enter the dark zone when you reach lvl 30 only you will miss out on awesome loot and the chance to lvl up the dark zone lvl. and be stuck grinding dz lvls at 30, just so you can buy gear.
Another thing: While going through missions, don't pick up the Large loot crates until you're level 30. The chests scale with your level and when you do the Hard/Challenging modes, you will get better items!
Money is power, Sell EVERYTHING you can upto lvl30, you want to have a good amount of credits when you hit lvl30 the high end weapons at your advance dealer cost around 500k and is a good start off, dont start deconstruct until you actully have the gear want and your weapon talents reaced. You will get plenty of purple weapons, gear and mods from the lvl30 Dark Zone, and daily Challenge modes, you get high end gear upon complete.
2:38 they are so wrong on that... accuracy effects dps meaning in the dps formula is miss change calculated so its not ideal its realistic dps and it also factors in reload time so lets say you have 120k dps you'd be more looking at 250k if you calculate it properly of course this is a very broad example but a lot more accurate then the game did...
Yeah and of you see someone hanging around the extraction zones with no dz pack be weary, he might cannon everyone who trys to extract their dz packs....
in this game i felt something i have never felt in like 8 years when i stoped playing MMO games ..... its really fun and awesome and its the best game i have ever played in playstation so far.
Vince is confused about how the DPS sheet calculates... mods are increasing DPS not because of hidden damage modifiers but because accuracy, stability, headshot/crit damage, etc. are figured into the calculation. It's actually not a number that assumes ideal accuracy like most games.
The reason they created dark zone levels was so you could go into the darkzone before level 30. In fact, I would recommend the opposite. Go in at level 11 or 12 and play a few hours until your dark zone level is at least. You can then use all that Dark Zone currency to buy some nice guns and gear that will help you get through the rest of the solo content.
i personally wouldn't wait until level thirty before you go into the DZ, from what i understand, as soon as you hit level thirty, all the enemies around the entire DZ become level thirty, so if you want to grind some loot that can be used for end game crafting, going into the DZ before level 30 would probably be best, plus its a great way to find some pretty decent loot that you can use. I would wait u till around level ten before tackling the DZ though, but that doesn't take too long to get to.
What Ubisoft didn't tell us. First three hours of the game goes by googling why the heck it's only blackscreen, watching the unskipable cutscene for the fourth time and walking around one building while watching unskipable cutscenes. The fun part of the game is pretty well hidden, I tell you. Even when the introduction part is over, it's filled with unskipable cutscenes and emptiness in gameplay. This is pretty much just like GTA V without cars or AC with more modern stuff. Still enjoying the 5% fun part of it. It's more than AC ever had :D
Thing number 8 The Division doesn't tell you: Massive and/or Ubisoft will not care if their servers essentially deleted your character. They expect you to re-level and re-farm everything.
You guys are wrong on a few things and also fail to mention a few things about the crafting material. BUT, what I think you are the most wrong about is the Dark Zone. What I would do is make sure you don't go past level 14. Make sure you upgrade both Virus Lab and Disaster Aid. (Obviously it depends on how you play, but it is the easiest to do while lower level) The reason why thought is so that you have the Recovery Link as your third ability, I have taken out three rouge players by my self with it and a shotgun. Now the reason for not going past level 14 is because the first Dark Zone bracket is 1-14. Max out your Dark Zone level first so that you can open chest and so you can get better loot. It will help you in game play, after getting pretty much everything I can out of the Dark Zone and hitting rank 30, I was able to join a party and do level 18 mission at level 13. No I probably couldn't do it alone, but I was doing great damage for my level because of the Dark Zone items. No I never spend any money, nor any materials, but I will use my keys because they are so easy to come by and once you are rank 30 there are so many more chest you can open in the hopes of better items. So, stay as low of a level as you can and hit rank 30 to help your game play.
why does everyone keep saying wait til level 30 to enter the dark zone? I went into the DZ at level 15 and did very well. The first DZ player bracket is 14-19. You can go in, killed some named enemies, get some good loot and extract out. The best gear is in the dark zone, if you wait until 30 to enter, you will be thrown into a very hostile and dangerous place where everyone else has better gear. At least if you go in while lower leveled, you are put in with other new players.
when a player has something to extract in the DZ they'll have the yellow backpack this comes in handy if you see a player at your extraction point without one watch out
Actually DPS is way higher than what you're spec sheet displays. I've calculated this. My AK is said to do 87k [I'm an all health and resistance support type build] but when I tested the weapon on the range, it's body shots are doing around 12k non crit damage. I'm doing around 120k DPS base not including crits and head shots.
Waiting ill level 30 for the darkzone is a common misconception. At level 30 you're competing with thought out character builds and players with gold items. To even be able to compete you need to spend 2 weeks building your character. The sweet spot for the dark zone is 15-20. Not a lot of rouges. Enough damage output to deal with mobs solo. Etc... If you wait till 30 for the darkzone, and endgame is your ultimate goal with the game. You won't fully enjoy the game.
He said you get higher DPS because the mag is larger and that makes sense. how? The mag is larger but you still shoot at the same speed so per second you get no extra damage out unless the mag has increased rate of fire buff.
Around minute 350 you said the LMGs have a high rate of fire and this is simply not true. The RPMs (Rounds Per Minute) are between 450-650 for LMGs as compared to Assault Rifles that are around 700-850 usually and SMGs that are from 700- 900. The LMGs have a high bullet count. I know this because I always carry an LMG simply for suppression and drawing aggro. Now you can boost the rate of fire but the RPM (Rounds Per Minute) is barely higher than the M1A marksman rifle.
One thing about the first tip YOU guys don't mention is keeping all that crafting stuff is nice but it's useless without crafting blueprints which take time to save up phoenix points to buy. the time in which you can just accumulate more crafting stuff anyway so so selling your stuff in the beginning regardless of the difference in worth is not a big deal even remotely. I sold everything till I hit level 22 or so and had up to date gear from 1-25 because of buying from vendors and then just force my way to 30 so I didn't waste anymore money. Hit 30 two days ago and have two crafted yellows and plenty of material. Also not all mods increase damage, most do but stability does not.. rate of fire obviously because if you us a set amount of time, lets say per minute, more bullets will be fired per minute and mag capacity and/or reload time because you don't waste as much time reloading...more bullets+less time=higher dps.
+Kelvin Martinez it is certainly one of those guilty pleasure games where it is not that great but the experience playing the game for some reason just makes you want to come back after playing another game just to shoot something.
***** don't forget the ability to "Recalibrate" your gear so you don't have to go farm for the same gear over and over again in hopes of getting the same gear with better stats. Recalibration is probably the most time saving thing they added into the game so players will never have to farm for the same weapon again once they have it. Just have to pray the RNGod gives you good numbers once the gear/weapon is recalibrated.
So so so so much misinformation.... Go watch skillup and/or datto for Discussion info. Get DZ ranks before 30, preferably at the bracket caps... And your thumbnail shows a little yellow pack you never mentioned! Between this and your 6.7 review of the beta, not the full game... Seriously ign... Get it together.
you really don't want to wait till 30 to enter dz. it's best to get into the swing of things as you level and you still gain dz xp so it is not a waste.
bigger mag size equals less reload equals higher DPS - and a big thanks for the thumbnail guys - will steer clear of all your vids and website from now on.
The thing is, the joining another instance to reloot the box's isn't just in this game. You can do it in WoW. Been doing it for so long and it's not a new concept
Ok im sick of people saying wait till level 30 to enter the dark zone, the higher DPS weapons are acquired in the dark zone, don't wait till 30. if u do this the guns u can buy in the dark zone won't be available till rank 50 DZ, so even if u think u have a good gun to enter you don't. the enemies will be way to hard to kill by yourself and you have to struggle to rank 50 to get a good gun, so level to level 14 which the bottom tear but u will be the big guy in the lowest bracket so the enemies will still be easy and then enter the dark zone get the guns at rank 15 DZ which would be rank 50 if u had of been level 30 and then leave and rank to level 20 as this is the 2nd bracket, do the same thing rank to DZ 30 and buy the gun and leave and rank to 30 and this way the enemies you face in the dark zone will be easier than struggling by yourself.
great tips except for the last tip. "wait until lv 30 to go to the dark zone" . negative, go to the dark zone, the loot is Great. just know you should matchmake with a group. i wouldnt say go there at lv 1, but lv 10 and upwards is great or even lower if you want. good source of blue and higher rank gear. the chests in there even give you on level equipment. and be safe xD, more and more people are going rouge now. including myself lol
+Sup3r6f0ur - Big fan of the Custom L86 LMS with full mods. Have it loaded up with a flash hider, a vertical grip, an ACOG sight, and an extended mag (49 rounds in the clip). The damage is a little better than the 60; and it reloads way faster. That said, I have to see what kind of mods are available for the 60 when I get to L30.
Karl Bursa The thing that makes the M60 good isn't the damage or reload speed. It's that it has little to no recoil, and I have my magazine upgraded to 181.... I also have some nasty perks for critical hit damage and armor destruction on it. I recommenced you try a level 30 M60 once. Shouldn't be hard to find one.
Getting the 10% boost to xp is entirely irrelevant. I'm max level, and still have 2 zones worth of encounters and side missions left to deal with, and i skipped most of the collectables, only grabbing them out of proximity. I also skipped roughly the last quarter of missions in each zone that were lower xp for my level, and started going back to clear them after hitting 30. The boost may get you there slightly faster than i got there, but completely irrelevant compared to the xp available through selecting the right quests to get the job done. I hit 3 on the 3rd day, and yes that was during a work week.
looking forward to when they actually fix the numbers as they supposedly said they already did.. and now the crafting bugs that can delete main weapon + lock you out of your character and not being able to play.. etc. by crafting a bag.. its so annoying that you can't seem to count on any thing within the game before a relog..
Uh.. You mean DON'T wait until lvl 30 to dark zone... Right? Hit lvl 14 then group up and dark zone your rank as high as you can before getting bored. Cause if you wait until lvl 30, the likelyhood that most rogue's can shred you if they are above rank 50 is basically guaranteed. 'Cause Dark zone credit versions of highend gear and blueprints unlock at rank 50 letting you basically max your stats and kill most players below rank 50. But at lvl 14 you are one of the strongest agents there... most of the time. *It's not as bad now the death penalty is less harsh..
Not sure why but it seems to me that not many people decide to go rouge in the dark zone, so far I've only seen 1 rouge player , and I've spent like 10 hours playing the Dark Zone.
I had the same experience in the open beta. I ran around and did plenty of encounters and extracted my loot and never ran into one rogue person. seemed everyone just wanted to get thier loot and move on.
My planned division build. M1 Sniper rifle with high bullet and headshot damage, ACOG with more headshot damage so it's useable at multiple ranges, not just long, a HiCap mag with yet more damage mods, and a muzzle break to make it more controllale/accurage M104 or Benelli shotgun with yet more high damage to handle things that get in close. Either that or an M249B. Either way going raw damage output, mag size, and controllability. For a pistol gonna go with a comp'd M1911, again raw damage, mag size, and controllability. For skills I'm gonna go medical AOE pod and flame turret. The damage buffs from scans are great, but you really can't go wrong, no matter the game, with having some decent med skills. Armor I'm gonna have as high as possible with a stress on scavenging and weapons buffs. I figure that should be a good solo and group support build.
how does a larger mag not factor into dps in thier minds.. larger mag more time inbetween reloads more time where you can be dishing out damage also, definitely make sure you gun has good stability even at the cost of dps because if your missing the target with 40% of your mag with 100k dps your dps is only 60k while if you get 85% hits of 90k your north of 75kdps.
I feel like this is one of the first games that really requires a weekly "HQ" type video. Was hoping that Destiny would be like that too but as we all know, it has kinda petered out so to speak. With that said though, Bungie has made a brilliant game that is Destiny. I have a feeling I'll be playing both games for the foreseeable future. I also love how vastly different they are but both contain qualities that I want for a long term game. Thanks for this video IGN, well done...
***** The division does not calculate dps like other games does. A thing to remember is that they take for how long you're capable of making damage. Division DPS counts damage per second for as *long as you can do damage.* While the raw damage will be the same, one gun with 100 bullets mag will have 70 more bullets to make damage with than 30 bullet mag. You have to take into account for how long one gun is making damage vs another. That is why a naturally slower shooting gun with less mag will have higher raw damage, take sniper or shotgun as an example. Because they've taken that into account. Constant damage vs Burst damage. You also have OT Dmg, but I'm not sure how they count that in The Division. The way you're counting DPS is how you would do if for an example you were playing World of warcraft. What I am trying to say is that, you're not wrong. The math behind your conventional DPS is true. No matter how many bullets you have, it is still the same DPS. But in the end, we can both agree that someone with more bullets with the same gun will do more damage total than someone with less mag and I think that is exactly what The Division wanted to portray. It also isnt very hard to come to that conclusion, as I and many more (Go reddit) found it rather quickly. Reduced reload speed increases speed too in the division.
+doomlord117 ya the best thing a player can do for themselve to know their dps is to consider what weapon they are using, the weapon's basic stats, and their base fire arm. The actual number above firearm stats is a bit mixed and mislead players. Consider what weapon they're use is probably the biggest part since certain weapons will function differently such as automatic fire rifles (most noticably by their magazine use and high ammo) and the basic 1 shot rifles (very low ammo but high damage per hit).
These types of videos are really helpful, but it would be more helpful if 1) you would either slow down a bit when you're talking or speak more clearly, and 2) when you all are talking at the same time or one starts before the other is finished what he/she is trying to explain, isn't always clear.
I totally disagree about buying from the Vendors. Without excellent blueprints, buying from vendors will always produce better weapons than random stuff early on you find or early stuff you can craft. And at Level 15, which is the video you keep showing isn't even an accurate example of end game or progression. L15 is like 2 hours of gameplay...
I sold the guns I didn't use and picked up any guns I saw I always had 40000+ in the standard game curacy. This alowed me to buy amassing gear and guns (gear from the advanced weapon vendor and gear from the gear vendor) because of this I completed the game at rank 24
Seems to me that when you get to level 20 or higher and you want to move in the dark zone that the AI should be set to if you are alone or not some places while you are fighting 8 guys on the right 5 more come up from behind and beside you making you have to fight 12 or more guys at once
Your advice to wait to spend is idealistic. Seldom do catch all statements like that pan out under scrutiny. You may, depending on your favor with the rng gods, be forced to make a purchase or upgrade. It seems you can't trust anything these guys say, because they like those types of fallacious statements. The guy on the right caught pink-shirt-mcgee doing it, so he may be smarter than the rest.
I'm lvl 24 now with 62K and 59K dps guns right now and I can tell you: dps does matter. I have 20K health tho, but at lvl 24 that doesn't really matter that much

Can you guys not copy that top 10 channel with the red circles in the thumbnails

So many things wrong
That reminds me of cortez from URL saying his opponent said I have a revolver wit the extended clip 🤔...lmfaoo

I realize you're not gun guys, but 5 minutes on Google will teach you basic nomenclature.
This video + concept is so much better, than a lot of the stuff that IGN normally does, I like it
The only tip I'd give is watch your back in the Dark Zone, AI's spawn behind you but also random players and betrayal.

Higher mag capacity directly effects ToT (time on target) resulting in higher sustained dps...not hard to figure out.

Not to mention the game actually provides that information in real time while you're browsing your magazine mods...
"I'm level 15 and only have one talent" level 15 unlocks your second talent slot....

THIS IS WHAT TH-cam HAS BECOME. SOME GOOD AS CONTENT.
when a player has something to extract in the DZ they'll have the yellow backpack this comes in handy if you see a player at your extraction point without one watch out
Lolololololololololololol 6.7......
Great video and tips, thank you HQ
Said materials "exploit" doesn't matter much since at end game, crafting materials with division tech is much better.
WOW THE DIVISION IS JUST ANAZING BUT NOT TOOOO AMAZING BUT STILL IS GREAT AND IS VERY ADDICTIVE..
agreed
+Kelvin Martinez it is certainly one of those guilty pleasure games where it is not that great but the experience playing the game for some reason just makes you want to come back after playing another game just to shoot something.
worth the purchase? friend told me its pretty much like destiny which I found boring :p?
***** don't forget the ability to "Recalibrate" your gear so you don't have to go farm for the same gear over and over again in hopes of getting the same gear with better stats. Recalibration is probably the most time saving thing they added into the game so players will never have to farm for the same weapon again once they have it.
Just have to pray the RNGod gives you good numbers once the gear/weapon is recalibrated.
+orrthehunter so worth getting then yes?
Smh, I thought the thumbnail was about being able to tell a difference between a full bag or a bag with 1-3 things.
Stability does not increase dps, so not all mods do increase dps.
mags in the chamber?
Might aswell put more bowls in my cereal
The teste pops with these blokes are insane.
you really don't want to wait till 30 to enter dz. it's best to get into the swing of things as you level and you still gain dz xp so it is not a waste.
bigger mag size equals less reload equals higher DPS - and a big thanks for the thumbnail guys - will steer clear of all your vids and website from now on.
Another one is that holding the start button will take you straight into inventory
Eh, that isn't really useful. Plus it appears as one of the tips when loading.
I agree but it's slightly convenient, plus the dps tip is also on the tip screen
great tips except for the last tip.
I'm always running an LMG with friends. The Black Market M60 E6 is by far the best. Low recoil, steady fire rate, and easy to get.
Ign rating system
Masterpiece
Amazing
Great
& obligatory negative rating to prove that they don't sell out to every publisher
Um diablo shows you pretty clearly what each item gives, and a summary of all items together plus skills, character stats ect.
M1 Sniper rifle with high bullet and headshot damage, ACOG with more headshot damage so it's useable at multiple ranges, not just long, a HiCap mag with yet more damage mods, and a muzzle break to make it more controllale/accurage
M104 or Benelli shotgun with yet more high damage to handle things that get in close.
+Ariel Fetters that is a bit sad mate.
Sam Thomas
???
+Ariel Fetters I wouldn't use the medical pod for solo
watch out for a loudener. got one on my SOCOM. loving it.
+Ariel Fetters be careful with the flame turret in DZ.. There might be people taking advantage of that to force you into rogue status..
FYI, not all lmg's have a large magazine ign
how does a larger mag not factor into dps in thier minds.. larger mag more time inbetween reloads more time where you can be dishing out damage also, definitely make sure you gun has good stability even at the cost of dps because if your missing the target with 40% of your mag with 100k dps your dps is only 60k while if you get 85% hits of 90k your north of 75kdps.
Adding mods to your gun increase its effectiveness?? This changes EVERYTHING
0:35. Neither does the division, whole descriptions are incomplete.
I ' ...run into the suppression mechanic..' all the time when solo, it's a lifesaver. The guy doesn't know what he is talking about.
"lemme piggy back off that.." x100
I go to the dark zone to get better loot... isn't that what everyone does.
awesome video guys, found this interesting too.
"Even things like mag capacity, which I dont understand".
Is this guy serious? More bullets = More Damage... How is that hard to understand?
***** The division does not calculate dps like other games does. A thing to remember is that they take for how long you're capable of making damage.
Division DPS counts damage per second for as *long as you can do damage.*
While the raw damage will be the same, one gun with 100 bullets mag will have 70 more bullets to make damage with than 30 bullet mag.
4:15 what a dumb comment. Just trow the grenade directly than
Its pretty clear that the dps has some strange calculation where it takes into account almost every stat.
+doomlord117 ya the best thing a player can do for themselve to know their dps is to consider what weapon they are using, the weapon's basic stats, and their base fire arm. The actual number above firearm stats is a bit mixed and mislead players. Consider what weapon they're use is probably the biggest part since certain weapons will function differently such as automatic fire rifles (most noticably by their magazine use and high ammo) and the basic 1 shot rifles (very low ammo but high damage per hit).
here I thought I was going to get some spiffy back story to the biohazard pack
On the first one. The last time I crafted an item was lvl 12. Everything ive picked up or bought has majorly out ranked the crafting items.
+FirasX Yeah, that might work until level 30. But with level 30 you def. want to start crafting your own equipment.
Y0 DonutZ Yeah. I recently hit 30 so i will start to craft things now.
That's the point of the game bro. I love that challenge part of it.
+j nolasco 8 was soloing it at lvl 14.. Just had to pick my fights and know when and how to run
Oh the Division also doesn't tell you that you can fall out of the map during the napalm mission, in front of the generator and steps.
A lot of good advice over here
great video guys thanks.
Your advice to wait to spend is idealistic. Seldom do catch all statements like that pan out under scrutiny. You may, depending on your favor with the rng gods, be forced to make a purchase or upgrade.
It seems you can't trust anything these guys say, because they like those types of fallacious statements. The guy on the right caught pink-shirt-mcgee doing it, so he may be smarter than the rest.
go into the dark soon and hit rank 30 before lvl 30 so you can access dz vendor
I'm lvl 24 now with 62K and 59K dps guns right now and I can tell you: dps does matter. I have 20K health tho, but at lvl 24 that doesn't really matter that much
nobodys gonna wait until level 30 to go to the dark zone, thats redonk
+colton mayer i did...
+colton mayer i did
I will
lol i went there at level 7
+Kenny Bloem ya suure
I get a division ad for a division video....
