    Hi Sir! Do you think PhD hiring in the industry will increase in coming years?

      If others are still considering: the rule of thumb which I followed: if you are seriously considering already you should move to the industry instead of a PhD program.
      A PhD ties you down for at least 3 years so if you don't absolutely love what you will be doing it can be over three years of pain with not much chance to go sideways without jeopardizing your chances of finishing on time.
