I was thinking the same thing I am wanting to take this next step up so I can learn how to develop leadership skills to try and progress to a leadership role. I was also gonna throw in I’m not a college graduate and that I wanted to take some night classes for excel spreadsheets.

Hi Isaiah. This is one of your best youtube videos by far! I really appreciated your going beyond the question to address what a company needs and can provide to a candidate. I also had a question about finding out re: culture. How do we explore this area of disconnect (between what they say and what we actually find) before getting hired into the position?
For example with what you said about someone saying this is a family-friendly company but employees having no pictures, there is no way one can know unless we start working there. Or even when talking to employees or senior management team, how does one ask such sensitive probing questions, to get their candid responses of do you have a positive work culture, how is the management style or is this a family friendly company? Thanks again for such an informative video. It goes way beyond simply getting to what we need to answer but also evaluating the Fit with the company in terms of our 5 year goals. Really appreciated.

Thank you for watching! It's always a good idea to do your research on the company to find out more about its culture, through informational interviews, looking at employee reviews, and checking their social media pages to see if they highlight employee accomplishments, outings and cohesiveness. For more tips on how to get a better idea of a company's culture, including what to ask in an interview, you can reference this article: cheekyscientist.com/ways-to-decide-if-a-companys-culture-is-right-for-you/
