This is the first review that actually shows the full capabilities of PBP so I thank you! Really hoped this monitor could do 16:9/5:9 mode and this confirms it. Definitely my next upgrade!
I’ve been looking at this monitor for quite a while now, your review is probably the best one I found so far. I guess I’ll order it in a few days😅 Keep up the good work, your channel deserves a lot bigger audience
To share the mouse and keyboard across multiple computers take a look at Synergy by Symless. I've been using it for decades since it was still open source. I use it to share my desktop mouse and keyboard between my dual monitor desktop , work laptop and a media laptop I have controlling my Dumb-TV. It makes all their displays into one continous display and whichever display has the mouse is the one also getting the keyboard input. So I can move my mouse seamlessly from the TV (laptop), thru the two screens of my desktop onto the work laptop in one motion. It also supports clipboard copy so copying URLs/Text etc across all the machines is seamless.
Don' t the text, menus, toolbars etc. get too small with native resolution? I heard that I would need to apply scaling to avoid everything becoming tiny... but then scaling defeats the purpose of having so many pixels as it blurs the text and images..
Would love to see a monitor this size that's targeted/spec'd out more for the Gaming space. I think it would slide in nicely between the 34" and 49" Ultra wide formats. 49" is still super pricey and a bit lackluster considering the price/value, while 34" just isn't quite wide enough to deter me from my desired setup and Gaming preference (Sim Racing).
Woah the 16:9|5:9 PbP mode would be amazing for gamer/streamers. -- Have a full gaming PC or console and a mac mini or even a NUC doing all the streaming bits
Nice, no external keyboard or mouse or trackpad, all goes with the macbook pro on the bottom! 13 is small but not the 16, you can edit video on the 16 without problem.
Looks like at the native resolution the text and UI are SUPER small. How do you find it for reading? I think tha's one potential problem with the scaling from this monitor's PPI. It's not in the Apple sweet spot of 110 or 220. If you actually scaled the UI so that its easier to see, there would be potential graphics performance hit. What has been your experience so far?
@@infamous_R That's fair. I think "handle it" is relative no? I was more curious if there is a performance hit of anykind in general. I take your point though that if the performance hit is so small with an M1 pro and M1 Max, that it's essentially neglabile. Curious non-the-less.
@@jakedunbar4063 I have this monitor, was connected to M1 mac mini, had to use full 5k resolution or downsize resolution half - this was unacceptable on large screen. Was bad for my eyes so I bought Mac Studio and now everything is fine. Using 3840x1620
So can I use a single mouse and keyboard if I don't want to run split screen between my two connected PC's? The work PC will be connected via Thunderbolt 3 while my personal will be connected via DisplayPort and I'll plug the mouse and keyboard into the 2 USB ports on the side of the monitor. I don't want split screen - just to change input source while using the same mouse and keyboard attached to the monitor. Thanks!
LG lost me with the 300 nits brightness, it's a dealbreaker! You have to run it on max brightness all the time and that is still not enough. 500 nits on this would have been stunning.
Nothing against proper monitors like the Apple Studio but I like to run my M1 Mac & Windows PC's on the same wide screen monitor. When switching between the two the Windows scaling and text is crisp at any resolution while the M1 Mac is dull and muddled at any resolution. My point is: I too am frustrated with the Mac's inability to proper scale text & graphics. Even the most expensive 38, 40, or 43 inch monitors that look great on Windows will look like crap on any modern Apple silicon Mac. The dull lackluster scaled graphics that Apple fanboys accept as normal (or constantly make excuses for) is a sad testament to their protection of Mother Apple's ongoing dismal business practices.
How did you find the IPS glow I got one of these and had to return it as I had two obvious bands top and bottom on any dark screen which was just unacceptable at this price
I just got one of these and replaced my Apple Studio Display. Speakers are an absolute downgrade, but text is sharp and I love the extra screen real estate (I never used the camera in the Studio Display).

Thanks! I'm sure you'll love the monitor!
I received this monitor this morning and it's awesome. The best screen I've ever have.

Thank you for this excellent review, just one question, what resolution are you using with the Mac ? Native 5120x2160 (UI is'nt too small?) or less ?
Hi what is the name of the LG feature which allows you to use one keyboard and mouse on two laptops. Thanks
yo that Vader behind you is sick! Is that a BenQ light on the monitor?
What I don't like about the LG on screen control is there is too much gap between the apps. In Dell display manager, there is no gap.
Great video thanks for the informations. Just wondering does the monitor comes calibrated and if not did you do any calibration??

Really nice review, thank you! 👍
Well presented my friend. May I suggest you lower the background music a few decibels? It was a bit too loud.

M1 Pro or M1 Max can handle scalling on this monitor. M1 can’t.

Why did you add a LED bar at the top of your monitor?
Desk light. It lights up the desk, helps you stay focused and reduces eye strain when working for long periods of time
Which brand and model is it? Most don't work well with curved monitors. Thanks.

Amazing video Sam. Curious, if i want it for some Cinema4D/Blender/Unreal 4K rendering work, will this do? Any downside to that?
This has more to do with your pc

Wish there was something like this but BRIGHTER give us something with more nits
Do you have any alternative for LG Ultrawide 40" 5k? They did not sell it to my country :(
Doesn't your lamp cover the light sensor it's right at the top center?

I'm worried about scaling and fuzzy/pixelated fonts. I have a 16 inch m1 macbook pro.
I have an M1 MacBook Pro and it is sharp as a knife!
Random question, what is the monitor light please?
Benq screenbar
@@ItsSamuelJones big thanks lightspeed response!
I got ya
what is the product code?
@@hajimasa hi, it’s just the BenQ ScreenBar. There is a slightly more advanced model too with a dial and Halo light ScreenBar Halo
what setting do you have on the resolution on the mac to get the sharpest and largest fonts?
On Apple M1 Pro and Max you can do Apple scalling on M1 it wont work with this monitor.
What light bar are you using?
benQ screenbar
that monitor lamp is not doing any justice on the screen brightness.
I’ve just done 11 hours, this makes me not want to work....
Depends on the jobs I guess
@@ItsSamuelJones I keep telling myself I am going to retire, but then I check my bank balance....🙁
The audio cutting was like a convulsion 🙄
but this is 60hz all along. a bit downgrade to usual 144hz smooth browsing.
