And with Wooting you are sure that if a new feature comes out that they will also include it to your keyboard within the next week and no need to pay for a newer keyboard
@techless Like always a great video 👍. Just a question regarding 8k polling. KreativEcke mentioned in one video 8k polling has an impact on the CPU usage. Did you recognize something like that during your test?
no thats only mice. Empty usb polls don't send interrupts to the cpu and obviously the overwhelming majority of usb polls at 8khz arent gonna have any data unless you can do 8000 inputs a second. A mouse sensor on the other hand can do 8000 updates in a second in motion especially at higher dpi which causes high cou usage
One important fact missing from this review is that keychron's firmware is open source, a fork of QMK(though they do have plans of merging upstream at some point). So you can program whatever behaviour and RGB effects on it you can come up with if you have basic coding skills. Also they are promising per key RGB configuration in their web app soon, though of course you shouldn't buy a product based on promised future features.
@@breter98 We are talking about having software permanently running on you computer that would send orders to the keyboard here. In case of keychron the firmware on the keyboard is open source, all modifications to it you make go with the keyboard between devices.

Yeah im interested as well. I have the nuphy air 75 and Im hoping they make an Halo75 soon. But if the software for configuration is ass, I may stick to my current keyboard. The one thing i love about the nuphy boards is the low profile. I just cant handle the high keys of regular keyboards.
8k polling is stupid. You could maybe argue 2k, as it's still light enough on your PC, but people have already found 4k und up polling to negatively impact game performance, basically negating any advantage the lower latencies of peripherals have. Instead you get higher game latencies, which not only impact one of your peripherals, but instead pull everything down. 8k polling is just marketing fluff. What really matters is reliability (some peripherals have some issues with holding their polling rate consistently), ease of tuning/configuring and maybe warranty. I'd also like to see more companies go for more layouts seen in custom keyboards and a daughterboard to fit HE pcbs into some of those awesome custom keebs. This is all without talking about sound and feel or even layout options. I use split backspace. This means there's not a single HE keyboard catering to my preference. I also like very clean and saturated sounding higher pitched boards. HE always sounds hollow or uses loads of foam. It's quite unfortunate, since the main culprit of this "bad" sound is the current switch construction.
Hello there as a broke boy i am looking into these i saw ajazz ak820 max with has 8k hz and is mag and rt supported what is your opinion on them also the attackshark k85 but only has 1k i hope u reply
techless ive been thinking about buying a used apex pro mini to get all the features of a wooting for cheap (like 80€), do you think thats worth it or do you have a different keyboard in mind?
software is heavy on system so you would most likely turn it off, and with it turned off you have 5 profiles that you can configure and switch between, and you cant control lightning mode without software so you gotta use whatever 5 modes are set to these 5 profiles, well that's with apex pro normal size
@lil_sadness i already have it in the background bc i have a steelseries headset and i dont notice a difference in performance at all and idrc about lighting modes
I came to the conclusion, that Steelseries sucks in general. They offer literally no product that feels good or is worth it. Also do yourself a favour and don't bother about HE until you can get one of the good boards.
@@lightningszn kinda. It still has dead zones, which is a no go for good HE boards. Software is horrible and the quality of the products is really not too great. Let's just say there's a lesser known CS pro who got rid of a Steelseries sponsorship, because there were so many issues with their products. Since I'm kinda deep into the SFF PC case space, I can also confidently say, that Optimum is not a reliable source anymore. He focuses more on making money than actually showing problems with products.
The Wooting implementation is still the best. The Case,Price and type feel isn´t. Habing the Pulsar PCMK2 HE provides a way better typing experience. What Wooting has, and it caan´t be undersestimated is a Layout for basicly every Language. Also Auto Calibration is absolutely amazing. I bet the competition will eventually catch up but then they will bring out the WL Versions. I hope they use encryption because no one in the HE space does atm.
I heard the best OSU player in the world (mrekk) complain yesterday on stream that his wooting still has this really annoying disconnect bug and multiple people in the chat confirmed they had the same, so cant recommend this brand untill they adress this.
if you dont use the usb c to a adapter and instead plug the cable directly into a usb c port on the pc you won't have this issue. Usb c can provide much more power than A and the wooting basically maxes out the current limit of usb a making it unreliable
Who really cares at less than 4ms anyways. I would say that the closest competition with Wooting is really the Melgeek's Made series. They have 68s and 84 and they are all 8k with software that is basically the same as Wooting including the ability to configure it from a browser. The Ultra versions are also forged carbon fiber which is kind of cool. Melgeek is also at least somewhat known in the keyboard community too. It's not just some pop up selling their first kb to gamers
I would never buy a Keychron because of the side usb connection. I know you can use wireless, but I prefer wired. I always have problems with wireless. Problems I never have with wired. Maybe it has improved, but still wired only for me.
There are plenty of keyboards that match or even beat the performance of wooting. HM66, HM80, Made68 Pro, Halo65 HE, just to name a few examples. You just gotta do your own research and you can find wooting like performance at a much cheaper price. EDIT* YT is not letting me reply to the comments below but there is a dude on yt named mioni that does latency tests and has an entire database of keyboards, mice, and more
U gotta have test data man, also so many hall effect keyboards are having PCB issues or bad software or bricking issues like drunkdeer so like gotta give it some time to see whether this stuff is happening
Exactly my thinking. Also considering how few games benefit from the HE features, people should not just buy them to have HE, but actually think if it elevates their gaming experience.
the difference between 8k and 1k polling rate is completely useless for 99.99 % percent of players. The latency is not coming from the polling rate too btw. The 60he for example has 1k polling rate too and is much faster than the keychron. If you want a budget wooting Id say buy a drunkdeer. If you're looking for that premium feel, you gotta save up more money I guess because aluminum or any metal casing are insanely expensive.
@@amberow9892 I have the Q1 He at the moment, I did some research and the 60he is pretty similar in latency to this one, I picked the keychron mainly for the quality it has compared to the price of the wooting, but yeah they are both amazing keyboards
Well before we talk about latency lets make sure it has the basics covered. 1. I only buy full sized keyboards so do all of them come in full size? 2. Besides being wired do they have a wireless option for a dongle? 3. Can a dongle actually be purchased if lost? Companies like Razer don't sell them. 3. Do the keyboards also handle bluetooth? I want to use it on my phone, my tablet, and perhaps my wife's phone and tablet. So ideally 4 BT connections but two will do. 4. Battery life? I want to use rechargeable 18650 cells with nipples on them. (No spot welding!) With a few 18650 cells the keyboard should last for years but certainly months. These are the basics I expect before I worry about latency, roll-over, optical, mechanical, etc..
@@clarkettinger6958 I use bluetooth. I have several full size keyboards. I'm always trying new ones. I won't try anything that doesn't have a bluetooth option. So when I send a text message I hit the bluetooth button, or the proper bluetooth button for that device, and start typing. I can type about as fast as I think. But if I don't have a keyboard then I'm stuck at one word per minute. So naturally a keyboard is very convenient.

I don't entirely understand their test method given I don't read korean but they seem to back up your numbers that the wooting is still faster than the iquinix. Techpowerup did a review of this keyboard recently
they also announced a 75% version of the air 60he.
Great vid, would u be able to test the fire68 and raven68? I see a lot of people very keen on recommending these two as sub $100 keyboards. Theres also the made68 i think which a lot of people are also recommending
Wooting RGB is also open source :3
@@breter98 We are talking about having software permanently running on you computer that would send orders to the keyboard here. In case of keychron the firmware on the keyboard is open source, all modifications to it you make go with the keyboard between devices.
Hey there! Have you tested the Steelseries Apex Pro gen 3? Haven't found any good reviews on it.
what about the Nuphy HE?
I wonder how the NuPhy Field75 HE and Cidoo c75 compare against these.
its about as fast as the 80he. (the nuphy)
@@Frozoken link/source for the test?
@hash4q rtings and they got 0.8ms
@@Frozoken they haven't done wooting 80he test yet though!
That 80he bending is because they use nearly same mold for plastic and zinc
Is it worth it to buy a used wooting 60he used?
Other company been claiming this and that but never beat wooting, i put my money on wooting and stop buying any other keyboard, ill be happy
should i get the iqunix ez63 or the wooting60he
60he
Look at the Nuphy next its a budget keyboard compared to these at $90 US and has 8k, HE, 65%, or 60% Low profile. They also have HE 75% While extra macro keys but its $150
im wondering now, what abouut the nuphy75HE? its been around for a little bit, but i havent heard anyone talk about them. Along with the other accessories they have with the keyboard, and it being cheaper than the wooting, im wondering if its a very strong competitor.
It is not. Wooting is competing with mainstream brands
Keyboard that will likely get supported to upto 10 years > same keyboard that will break in a year
Drunkdeer 60 is insane for the price. It was on sale recently
The A75 too, great looking board with very competitive performace!
@@houssamalucad753 I’m using the A75 pro currently and it’s amazing.
is the razer huntsman v3 pro faster then the wooting (60he) because i like the design and the sound of the razer need a tkl and 80he is only shippingable at dec.
6:25 is this because of QMK VIA support on keychron kbs?
I was looking for a new keyboard, leaning towards the wooting 60HE because i dont want to spend 300 for the 80HE with aluminium
Also wondered what kind of keycaps i can put on the wooting
Or should i get a different keyboard all together (i am from germany so i would need the right layout too)
Wooting has iso de
Im happy with my 60HE
I game in the dark, so any keyboard that has south-facing LEDs is an instant pass for me. The ATTACK SHARK K85 is the only sub $100 hall effect 75% keyboard I could find.
Just invest in a monitor light bar. It's the best thing you can do to not be forced into north-facing LEDs and the usually crappy shinethrough keycaps
@@Aexeq What exactly is crappy about shinethrough keycaps? Light bars are distracting and they ruin the monitor contrast. I game in the dark because I prefer to game in the dark.
@@WrexBF the quality. Also I intentionally said "usually crappy", because none of the high end manufacturers do shinethrough, so it's really hard to find good quality ones.
What about the raven68 and fire68?

Hi techless, I was looking to see if you were or are looking to hire me to make TH-cam shorts for your TH-cam channel. Or to make Thumbnails for you.
i think you missed to mention that the K2 HE is wireless. i would say thats a big part while being 60$ cheaper than the wooting
can you also try compare it with FIRE68?
Could you test the NuPhy Halo65 which is 90$ and so by far the cheapest he keyboard?
Should be getting one soon 👍
Yeah im interested as well. I have the nuphy air 75 and Im hoping they make an Halo75 soon. But if the software for configuration is ass, I may stick to my current keyboard. The one thing i love about the nuphy boards is the low profile. I just cant handle the high keys of regular keyboards.
@@techlessYT Can you check GamaKay TK68 HE 65%?
@@techlessYT Nice video, Love it!!
Which keyboard does not has the problem of some keys not regestering while others pressing multiple times. Got that problem on my Skylong keyboard😞😞
all of them, only cheap trash keyboards have that issue
Nuphy also has some HE models. 8Khz pooling as well.
yes theyre a much better competitor
techless ive been thinking about buying a used apex pro mini to get all the features of a wooting for cheap (like 80€), do you think thats worth it or do you have a different keyboard in mind?
software is heavy on system so you would most likely turn it off, and with it turned off you have 5 profiles that you can configure and switch between, and you cant control lightning mode without software so you gotta use whatever 5 modes are set to these 5 profiles, well that's with apex pro normal size
@@Aexeq according to optimum techs vid the steelseries performed well against the wooting idk
Can you test drunkdeer latency?
I wanna see this kind of analysis with my keyboard, akko santorini 8k
chat ima be real this kb not gon get me out of plat
Hey man, test out the magger68 he pro by luminikey. It's a banger of a deal IMO. First HE keyboard so I can't compare to a wooting
Yeah currently testing :)
would like to see the nuphy low profile he keyboard compared
Shame all the cheaper competition are all ANSI style and not ISO. The UK market is left out or have to deal with the worse ANSI layout
Hello there again have looked into budget options for mag he keyboard well theres many for myself i looking into buying ajazz Ak820 max
Im gaming on a mx keys mini for businesses 😈
I own a EZ63 and still don’t know how to turn on SOCD 😂 would yk how to enable it?
Fn+A
I heard the best OSU player in the world (mrekk) complain yesterday on stream that his wooting still has this really annoying disconnect bug and multiple people in the chat confirmed they had the same, so cant recommend this brand untill they adress this.
if you dont use the usb c to a adapter and instead plug the cable directly into a usb c port on the pc you won't have this issue.
Can you review ATK RS7 Pro or Edge60HE. Thanks!
Wooting>anything... Their software is better, their transparency is better, their product is better too.
Their software is better because it is modular
Can you test out the ATK Edge60HE x LEVIATAN when it comes out?
There are plenty of keyboards that match or even beat the performance of wooting. HM66, HM80, Made68 Pro, Halo65 HE, just to name a few examples. You just gotta do your own research and you can find wooting like performance at a much cheaper price.
EDIT* YT is not letting me reply to the comments below but there is a dude on yt named mioni that does latency tests and has an entire database of keyboards, mice, and more
Xflat test or didnt happend
U gotta have test data man, also so many hall effect keyboards are having PCB issues or bad software or bricking issues like drunkdeer so like gotta give it some time to see whether this stuff is happening
@@yhiz4757 if you can see this reply check my comment. i made an edit
if anything annoys me about my keyboard, its how slow it is.....
keychron is also wireless (BT, 2.4gHz)
it's unfortunate these HE models still sound so bad, not sure if it's the switches or stabs or both😂
Exactly my thinking. Also considering how few games benefit from the HE features, people should not just buy them to have HE, but actually think if it elevates their gaming experience.
Underestimated the Hardware
Overestimated the Software
80He FTW
Well wooting hire people that know what to do
I wish the keychron was 8k hz kinda sucks that it isnt but its still a nice keyboard
the difference between 8k and 1k polling rate is completely useless for 99.99 % percent of players.
Sounds just like the Dutch. Always underestimating their competitors
The Nuphy Field 75 HE is objectively the best gaming keyboard out there, better than Wooting and cheaper.

imo metal case is not what eveyone wants, i generally dont like the sound of the metal based ones
what about made68pro??
the music is a bit loud
These are the basics I expect before I worry about latency, roll-over, optical, mechanical, etc..
how are you going to use a full sized keyboard with a phone? that just sounds hella inconvenient
@@CheapHomeTech yea, but full sized keyboard is massive, so like finding a place to put it while using your phone would prolly be hard. unless you are talking about like propping your phone up on your desk
@@clarkettinger6958 I like assigning the extra keys to other tasks. The keyboards he's reviewing look great and are totally new to me. I want to buy a new keyboard every month or two. And if they have basics covered I will certainly be buying them.
I lost it on John Cena :D
Lower latency won't help 99.99% of players who don't have any logical or critical thinking needed to win any game.
Sicher? Du bist da aber anders ne
Do not get the keychrons as they cant send multiple key inputs per usb poll which is just absolutely patbetic. my old corsair k70 from like 2015 could do this

I love that you actually verify their latency numbers. I know it does not matter as much when it comes to the feel of latency but a lot of companies getting away with poor implementation is disappointing.
eyejoker who is a korean reviewer on youtube has his own database and also seems to try to independently measure latency numbers. I don't entirely understand their test method given I don't read korean but they seem to back up your numbers that the wooting is still faster than the iquinix.
Other than nuphy I've personally had issues with other chinese keyboards and their software and that is the biggest upside with wooting is that it's consistently developed and not dropped. Some of the cheap hall effect boards I've tried that had better materials seem to let their software go.
no nophy 😢
