Congrats on one of the best vids on the topic! All you missed was SOCD and a more thorough discussion on how all hall effect switches *must* be calibrated.
Not sure about the other keyboards, but for the Akko, it’s definitely worth mentioning that on the switches they use, the magnetic poles are reversed. Meaning that your choices for after market switches are very slim. You also cannot simply spring swap them, since they use a short and fat spring. I have spent quite a bit of money and time trying to get other switches to work before Akko support told me. 60g stock is way too heavy for me, and a bought an Akko since I wanted a true tkl layout, rather than the 80he. But kinda frustrating having to look all over the place for lighter switches. But china has me covered I guess.
Kind of a big bummer that they haven't invented a true standard for these "new" switches. I just ordered the Keychron one and I don't care so much. There will most likely be more switches made for it and more importantly I will most likely just enjoy the standard ones.
It is what it is I guess. Just gotta be extra careful when buying switches for your he keyboard. It honestly wouldn't be a huge issue to me if the switches used standard springs, but since they don't, gotta buy lighter switches. Only an issue for me since I play vsrgs, and the heavier switches kinda hurt my hands a bit. Wish wooting would make a proper tkl.
Honestly it'd be really cool to see you go out and test loads of HE keyboards, it'd be incredibly valuable for comparing HE boards. It'd also be interesting if you could test the deadzones of these switches and not just latency/polling rate, I think that's a huge factor in these keyboards too

I gotta say this is my first time watching your channel, and I was really impressed with how in depth and well laid out the information was! There aren’t many people talking about the other HE keyboards other then the wooting, so it was nice to know what the other companies are up to, and see if there would be a better option for me other than the wooting. I really was looking forward to a 75% layout with a knob, so the keychron one sounds really appealing to me, but I don’t know if I should go with the 80he with the metal case they offer, which would end up being $300+, which is a little pricey for me, or just go with the fully built keychron for around $200.
Just with every single keyboard I get, when I got the Q1 HE, the first thing I did was lube the stabs, changed to 1.8mm cherry profile key caps from Epomaker that only cost like 30 USD, and put kilmat under the keys that used stabs other than the caps lock and enter keys due to the profiles being too low for the kilmat mod. I also just went the lazy route and top lubed the switches, sounds A LOT better than my modded 60 HE(about 400-450 USD after all the mods) afterwards, and the wireless part is also really really nice due to my setup. The amount I spent on the Q1HE mod-wise was like, under 35 bucks lol.
how did you "top lube" the switches? Did you just use spray lubricant? I guess it would work much better on HE switches as you perhaps are much less likely to interfere with anything as you are with metal contacts. Edit: Or did you just press the switch down and lube the inside of the housing?

THANK YOU - this is the best comparison video I've found for this, super helpful! Hope you get to try the New Logitech Pro X TKL (RAPID) when it releases in coming weeks - though I still think they look ugly
Akko does looks the best, especially that mid frame piece(how to cope cheap owlab suit80 lol) and have the best anode finish with the smoothest finish. My pick if you're going somewhat "high-end" gaming(still high low-end for custom keeb though). I don't play fps game so if I have to choose between these, I still pick Akko despite there bad softwear(yes there stock stab suck). Not saying that it will replace my 500$+ keeb though.
I'd go a step further and say that it's not only necessary to have a hardware button for profile switching, but also to have it automatic depending on what application is in focus. I tab away from my game/main monitor very frequently and it would drive me insane if that didn't also change my profile. The model on my radar at the moment is the new Wooting 80HE since I also want the arrowkeys. Still waiting for a sound test of its metal chassi though.
I have a minor issue with Akko's roar mode. I wish they add more keys. For example if you play Apex and you have Roar Mode on WASD you're not going to be able to perform a superglide. I believe it also affects the scan rate of non roar mode keys. It works well but it has flaws. I do agree on the software. I hope Wooting alternatives start making better software
This is just my opinion, but I don't think there is much to be gained from polling a keyboard higher than 1 Khz. The dynamic range of the input data seen from a mouse in comparison is far greater. I'm a massive fan of my 60he, and I don't really think I'd gain anything if I could play with it at higher polling rates. I definitely wouldn't count it as a negative to have the option though. I think it would be cooler if we could see the hall effect rapid trigger thing in a wireless option though.
Have been enjoying the Akko yotd for a while now. Bought their first batch and the hardware had been perfect so far. I have some minor gripes for the software but that could always get better later on. Honestly I just set everything to .5 actuation and non stop RT and left it there. In terms of the polling rate problem. I believe they have said something in their discord that they’re either investigating the problem or figuring out why the measuring is having problems? Also have been considering getting the drunkdeer since they have been fixing problems with their firmware and I believe they also have a web driver.
Oh btw Wooting showed that their new 80HE will have a very low input-time deviation. Meaning you have more consistant actuations. It might not be much, but at the high end of gaming keyboards, that is what matters.
60HE for 60%, but must be modded for better typing. 80HE for TKL-like keyboards without missing keys. (numblock has duplicate keys) I own the 60He, but I am missing some keys in games, like the F-row. I don't like using function keys... So I "founded" the 80HE with a zinc case.
hey everyone, just to note that I own an Akko MOD007-B HE (not MOD007v3 HE in the video), it has the same software quirkiness that the one in the video has, but runs at a constant 1khz polling rate (tested with keyboard inspector 1.0)
I just watched a video on the Razer Huntsman V3 which seems to possibly even have an edge over the Wooting because of their key-switch technique. I'd love an update video where you compare that feature with the Wooting and other alternatives (as I am NOT a fan of Razer lol)
Wooting already launched the same firmware update. Soon all he keyboard will have the same option as “gamers” are asking for it, even so it exists for many years with a simple code
I wouldn't say "out perform" as their software and firmware... Isn't that good. It's basically a custom keyboard and it is expensive. The shipping costs like $100 for some reason. I recommend watching boardzy's review on it.
Akko's keyboards are really good in terms of hardware, but the software needs so much work. If they can get software and firmware better then they would be so good.
would be nice to have more keyboards other than wooting and razer which support analog/controller granular movement, imo its something i find more important than rapid trigger feature
great for gamers since they dont really care about sound and feel, just want fast. but coming from custom keyboard, any mag switch on the market right now just sounds horrible. until recently QK65V2 Classic with Gateron lavender Mag switch, actually sounds like normal switch now. but this also tells me the tend is just starting, and hopefully, normal switch gonna phase out, all new switch, pcb are all mags, its literally the future for sure.
What would be my options if I’m looking for a keyboard that’s closer to full size with these features… Good HE performance, hot swap, sounds nice, and looks good?
I recommend the VGN ATK68 and ATK75. I'm using the ATK75 to type this comment. The sound, the feel, the software. All is too good for $99. Mine is G-Switch, btw (Gateron 2.0).
You must try ATK rs7 pro. That thing is built like a tank, comes with anime keycaps addons, full cnc aluminium body, 8k pooling, magnetic switches that are smooth and have no hole so you can throw in more lube over the factory one
So should your rapid trigger setting be set lower or higher than your actuation? I always thought RT should be a little higher than your actuation. So 0.3 actuation and 0.4 RT? Sound like I'm wrong
Thank you so much for the comparison, I feel it's really needed because HE has completely changed the gaming keyboard scene. 1 thing to add for the Keychron Q1 HE, it has wireless 2.4 GHZ mode! Personally that's actually the only thing that led me to choose Keychron over Wooting, but it's nice to hear from you they are indeed the closest to Wooting, ~90% there
Thx for your channel! Could you suggest one or more 32 inch curved monitors for work productivity, under $500? I’m lost in knowing what to buy. Too many options. Thanks!
Waiting for a HE keeb that sounds good. Then ill lap it up. The only thing the Wooting needs is probably some gasket mounting, and beter slightly stabs (Whcih I would presume one can change on it) and it will sound substantially better
easiest homework to do, idk why they cant just do it... just copy wootings software implementation... that akko looks pretty sweet reminds me of Jiyan from wuthering waves lol
Why does nobody review the Arbiter Studio Polar65? Absolutely beautiful designs, adjustable actuation, rapid trigger, driven by a web-app...but nobody seems to know about it. Idk how a wooting could be better but tbf I haven't tried one yet. I say all this as a top 0.1% apex movement player tho, I am very particular about my keyboards and this one is phenomenal.
The Polar65 is using the same PCB and is produced by the same Chinese OEM supplier like the Endgear KB65 or the DrunkDeer65. I saw a video, where someone disassembled these boards and they have all the same PCB including the same part number from the factory. So they have all the same features and crappy software. Like mentioned in the video 50% of HE experience is made by the software!
@@tommytomato6588quite similar in terms of board PCB but still different implementation/software tho, EGG doesn’t have actuation point settings meanwhile Polar65 has one
I am kinda concerned about accidentally pushing buttons while resting my hand while gaming. This is not a problem with mechanical keyboards, but these linear hall effect keyboards I do have that concern. Is this the case or not?
about the akkos rapid trigger it's just a bad software problem thats not so straight forward if you for example set actuation 1.0 and release 2.0 then rapid trigger will only work in that range, logic is you hit 1.0 to activate but if you release sooner than hitting 2.0 it will deactivate cuz depth is already higher than 2.0, in the same sense if you press before hitting 1.0 again it will trigger cuz depth is already lower than 1.0

Great software & firmware, low latency, amazing hardware, customizablity, and support.
THANK YOU - this is the best comparison video I've found for this, super helpful! Hope you get to try the New Logitech Pro X TKL (RAPID) when it releases in coming weeks - though I still think they look ugly
Ordered the Q1 HE thanks!
me too :)
How is it? I will use it only for gaming and a bit worried that’s it too high
@Alex-HD I love it!
@@craigt8700 nice! Do you have an armrest? It just looks so high
@Alex-HD I got the silicone wrist rest with it. It's worth.
Should've tried a drunkdeer keyboard too
Drunkdeer has issues with software. Their advertised 0.2mm doesn't work consistently and their support's response is "just don't use it"
@Kamiey I currently daily drive .2 no issues
@sivaxi5114 my bad then, stopped looking into it 4 months ago after ordering wooting80
yeah or gamakey. can't find any good comparisons with them or non sponsored videos
True, I prefer my Drunkdeer G75 over the Wooting, sounds and feels so good.
love how the wooting driver works in the browser
Hi, great video ! I have a question if you don't mind me asking, what do you think of the ATK keyboard and mouse brand?
Akko does looks the best, especially that mid frame piece(how to cope cheap owlab suit80 lol) and have the best anode finish with the smoothest finish. My pick if you're going somewhat "high-end" gaming(still high low-end for custom keeb though).
I don't play fps game so if I have to choose between these, I still pick Akko despite there bad softwear(yes there stock stab suck). Not saying that it will replace my 500$+ keeb though.
look at 80he zinc
Amazing video, just what I needed to conclude my decision! (Keychron Q1 HE)
Oasis75, ATK RS7, Iquinix EZ63 are some of the really good RT keyboard in China especially the EZ63.
Probably gonna check out the EZ63 soon 👍
I'd go a step further and say that it's not only necessary to have a hardware button for profile switching, but also to have it automatic depending on what application is in focus. I tab away from my game/main monitor very frequently and it would drive me insane if that didn't also change my profile.
The model on my radar at the moment is the new Wooting 80HE since I also want the arrowkeys. Still waiting for a sound test of its metal chassi though.
The lad is doing great work, as usual
Would love to see Lamzu Atlantis Pro (the keyboard) being tested the same way
I have a minor issue with Akko's roar mode. I wish they add more keys. For example if you play Apex and you have Roar Mode on WASD you're not going to be able to perform a superglide. I believe it also affects the scan rate of non roar mode keys. It works well but it has flaws. I do agree on the software. I hope Wooting alternatives start making better software
maybe 6-8 keys in total?
The cidoo c75 is built like a tank (full aluminum case) and sounds extremely good stock at only $140.
Very good video. 80HE review soon?
we're back after almost a month of radio silence, turns out you've been cooking this whole time
This is just my opinion, but I don't think there is much to be gained from polling a keyboard higher than 1 Khz.
I would really like to see a retest of delays in Akko with a new version of the firmware.
The bridge75 Hall effect edition just came out to the US market the other day
Have been enjoying the Akko yotd for a while now.
Yes, I've been in touch with Akko and they are working hard to fix the polling rate and software stuff.
@@techlessYT Apart from the polling rate issue, does rapidtrigger work accordingly now?
Oh btw Wooting showed that their new 80HE will have a very low input-time deviation. Meaning you have more consistant actuations.
It might not be much, but at the high end of gaming keyboards, that is what matters.
Herzlichen Dank für das informative Video!
have u tried less costly hall effect keyboards like polar 65 and drunkdeer? I wonder if they are worth buying for people with lower budget
Drunk deer is, check out aim adapts vid
great video! effort and editing also great! hope you give drunkdeer a try in the future too!
60HE for 60%, but must be modded for better typing.
80HE for TKL-like keyboards without missing keys. (numblock has duplicate keys)
I own the 60He, but I am missing some keys in games, like the F-row.
Amazing video, thank you.
FYI guys, the boog75 outperforms these keyboards, even sounds as good as an expensive custom keyboard. I wish he added it to the video
I wouldn't say "out perform" as their software and firmware... Isn't that good. It's basically a custom keyboard and it is expensive. The shipping costs like $100 for some reason. I recommend watching boardzy's review on it.
Now there is another beast in the market made68 ultra
I am getting a ATK RS7 Pro eSports Hall Effect soon. Hope the hype is real. So glad we have more competition to Wooting. Hopefully prices fall.
Akko's keyboards are really good in terms of hardware, but the software needs so much work. If they can get software and firmware better then they would be so good.
The Wooting with a better case is the best but the Polar65 is the best HE board you'll get for under $150. It's phenomenal
Wooting has the worst key wobble of them all.
would be nice to have more keyboards other than wooting and razer which support analog/controller granular movement, imo its something i find more important than rapid trigger feature
wish you could try Drunk Deer G60 or 65 too. Wanted to get that board but...I need reviews like yours hehe xx
have u tried drunkdeer? in my country, only ae68 n drunkdeer are the cheapest that are good for delay
sehr gutes video ! , danke
Do you have a video for customizing your wooting? Love your build and case.
great comparison, thank you
Should've tried to Monsgeek one. There's in the only keyboard with every feature you can get at the moment.
Great video! Are you considering testing the Keychron's wired vs wireless latency?
Please tell us your opinion about the MSI G2412F monitor, whether it is better than the G2412. It would be cool to see a review on the G2412F
Can you test Drunkdeer A75?
great for gamers since they dont really care about sound and feel, just want fast.
but coming from custom keyboard, any mag switch on the market right now just sounds horrible.
until recently QK65V2 Classic with Gateron lavender Mag switch, actually sounds like normal switch now.
but this also tells me the tend is just starting, and hopefully, normal switch gonna phase out, all new switch, pcb are all mags, its literally the future for sure.
have you tried gateron jades? they sound amazing
Thanks for the video pecless
In terms of software, is the Everglide safe to buy? What features does it have or dont have compared to the Wootig?
What would be my options if I’m looking for a keyboard that’s closer to full size with these features… Good HE performance, hot swap, sounds nice, and looks good?
Also curiousnif Iqunix ez63 software is as scuffed as the akkos, Nuphy is running some rapid tap software now as well.
can you please review the akko 3061S He shine through.
Why didn't you compare these to optical analog boards? Comparing HE to mechanical keyboards seems outdated.
I recommend the VGN ATK68 and ATK75. I'm using the ATK75 to type this comment. The sound, the feel, the software. All is too good for $99. Mine is G-Switch, btw (Gateron 2.0).
Have you heard about the Ducky OneX yet? That one just recently got announced and uses new better / similar-to-hall-effect switches made by Cherry.
deserves more views
should give the boog75 by meletrix a shot
You must try ATK rs7 pro. That thing is built like a tank, comes with anime keycaps addons, full cnc aluminium body, 8k pooling, magnetic switches that are smooth and have no hole so you can throw in more lube over the factory one
Does it have socd?
So should your rapid trigger setting be set lower or higher than your actuation? I always thought RT should be a little higher than your actuation. So 0.3 actuation and 0.4 RT? Sound like I'm wrong
Thank you so much for the comparison, I feel it's really needed because HE has completely changed the gaming keyboard scene.
1 thing to add for the Keychron Q1 HE, it has wireless 2.4 GHZ mode!
Personally that's actually the only thing that led me to choose Keychron over Wooting, but it's nice to hear from you they are indeed the closest to Wooting, ~90% there
Can you try reviewing the G255F from MSI? I've been wondering are your thoughts on it.
Can u also do a review on reddragon k617 fizz hall effect keyboard???
i really like the video but something i was interest about if you could tell me, about the amp/dac you are using
polar 65 arbiter is 85-125 depending in their sale and has the same performance
Honest opinion about Keychron's k2 he? I'am thinking to get one...
Can you try the aula f98x? It is new and has hall effect too
easiest homework to do, idk why they cant just do it... just copy wootings software implementation... that akko looks pretty sweet reminds me of Jiyan from wuthering waves lol
Do you think it’s worth buying a 200€ keyboard like the wooting 60he or the ez63 or should I ho with a cheaper one
@@tommytomato6588
Huh, interesting. Might have to get the 60HE after all to see how much better it is.
@@tommytomato6588quite similar in terms of board PCB but still different implementation/software tho, EGG doesn’t have actuation point settings meanwhile Polar65 has one
Have you tried the DrunkDeer G60 or any review for it? :) Thanks in advance!
Sag bitte nicht dass du daa Ende jedes mal so machst wie geil😂
I am kinda concerned about accidentally pushing buttons while resting my hand while gaming. This is not a problem with mechanical keyboards, but these linear hall effect keyboards I do have that concern.
Is this the case or not?
about the akkos rapid trigger it's just a bad software problem thats not so straight forward
if you for example set actuation 1.0 and release 2.0 then rapid trigger will only work in that range, logic is you hit 1.0 to activate but if you release sooner than hitting 2.0 it will deactivate cuz depth is already higher than 2.0, in the same sense if you press before hitting 1.0 again it will trigger cuz depth is already lower than 1.0
