I received my 80HE yesterday and love it but I wouldn't say that Wooting has destroyed competition. Wooting's main selling point was rapid trigger and back then they were probably the only company that had it implemented well and working. But over the time, alternatives appeared, such as Rakka, Drunkdeer et cetera. 80HE was advertised with Rappy Snappy, but now that it's been banned in CS (along with SOCD) it's likely that other games will follow and ban it too. But not gonna lie, Wootility is it's huge advantage over the likes of Razer Synapse and other crappy software
Tell me how Wootility is a huge advantage over anything else because I don't see it on 80% keyboard. On 60% maybe - you have to actually use that software because you have less keys so you have to fiddle with layers and such but on 80%? No need.

As part of the founder's campaign for this keyboard, I think the new Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 might be a better keyboard. Sure it's $20 more but it's probably going to sound basically the same or very similar since it has the same sound modifications but it comes with a magnetic wrist rest, media controls, the screen, metal faceplate and more features on the keyboard itself as well as in the software (this is a standalone app which they have bloated over the years tho) Both have Pros and Cons but for the majority of consumers the Apex Pro Gen 3 line is probably a better option even for $20 more. Sooo, I've spent some time researching two common statements about the wooting 80HE. So that everyone who sees this can better decide if it's worth the price or not. My personal opinion is at the end. Let's see which statements are right and which are wrong. 1. The 80HE is too expensive: Objectively speaking, this is simply true -Plastic Case: For 200€ a plastic case seems like a joke on the current market. Nothing more to say and no understanding for that decision, sorry. I hope they add a other case to the shop which is in the middle of plastic and the zinc alloy and I hope they offer a discount for this for everyone who bought the plastic variant. -Zinc Alloy case: 120€ is quite high for such a case, some 60he alu cases are 70€ and there seems to be no big advantage of a zinc over alu. (Correct me) -Switches: The new V2 switches seem to be good, but there are some more premium ones on the market and it would be nice if Wooting would include some of them by default for choice. -Keycaps: Feel very cheap, just standard caps. Would be great to see Wooting adding some more and better Keycaps for choice in the future. BUT: -Warranty: We get 4 years of warranty which is crazy good and no one else offers this currently. (Correct me if I'm wrong) -Warranty still holds after Modding the keyboard! (Stated in a TH-cam comment by Wooting). This is crazy good too. Other companies would deny a replacement of defect parts after Modding! -Customer Support: Whenever I reached out to them I got an answer at the same day. They also answer regularly on TH-cam comments and are very transparent too. To sum it up, a very trustworthy company. -Software: Hall Effect keyboards are just as good as their software. Wooting is simply the best here. The only competitor I see here is Keychron, the rest is literally bad at software. (looking at you Akko) -QC/Reliability: Just watch their video series for the 80he production. One of the best Quality Controls I have ever seen. They think about every possible failure directly and test the same parts multiple times. Really good QC. TL;DR: Build quality wise only in the mid of the market, but Software, Warranty, QC and Customer Support are THE best on the market for sure. But yep, sad that the tradeoff for this is the build quality. 2. The zinc case scratches easily: True, but also false. CEO stated that it should be a absolute exception if the case gets scratches that easily. But tbh I don't see a big problem here as such problems are covered by warranty anyways. Furthermore, this seems to only happen with the white versions. 80HE Alternatives (ISO-DE): -Keychron Q1 HE: Very good build quality, but software could be a bit better. Recommended. -Akko mod 007HE: Very good build quality, but Software is a nightmare, warranty only 1 year(? Correct me) and deadzone problems. Not recommended. -Anything else with same size and ISO-DE layout I forgot? My opinion: Yes there are some better alternatives build quality wise, but Wooting as a trustworthy company outways this negative aspects for me. Also, a "problem" with the alternative keyboards is that they have southfacing LEDs. For me personally it's a no-go. So I'm stuck with the Wooting 80HE and hope they release a more affordable 80he alu case in the future.
the case and assembly still seem pretty cheap looking at the disassembly in the video. i would definitely call it overpriced and go as far as saying that you're paying for the software and not the keyboard itself.
Yup was so disappointed that I cancelled my order. WTF is that shit. If I wanted to mod my keyboard (and I don't) I would not do it on a $200 keyboard.
Meanwhile me using 45$ Ajazz AK820max HE. Great budget RT keyboard, good sound no rattle, lubbed. With some cheap Aliexpress Evangelion translucent Keycaps it looks like 300$ KB. p s. I feel no big perfomance gap between it /wooting/drunkdeer. Some other budged HE kbs are VGN a75, Attack Shark K85, womier 68 he etc
I personally think the GMMK 3 HE even the plastic one is better and its cheaper. Easier to customize better sound and still pretty good software but no one can touch wooting software but do you want to pay for an over priced board for software?
I tried to actually think what I would use software for and besides setting actuation point once and enabling rapid trigger I can't think of another reason. You may want to do it on 60% or 65% layout more because you have a lot less keys, but on 80%? It simply doesn't matter. SOCD is considered cheating and outright banned so it doesn't matter to me as well.
Frankly I don't see why this should be better than Keyhcron Q1 HE: - it costs more than Q1 HE - it doesn't support open-source QMK firmware (which also allows to have an offline client and let the keyboard survive if the company fails) - it lacks the option to have a knob - it lacks bluetooth - it lacks 2.4GHz wireless - it's wider for no good reason (75% layout is better imo) - wrist rest is more expensive and there is no cover case (anti dust) To me the Q1 HE is the clear winner here.
Also not in love with that fact that it’s technically hot swappable but for some reason “The Q1 HE is compatible with the magnetic switches sold on the Keychron website only.”
@punkr1124 someone who's in the keyboard hobby and has built a ton of keyboards. This keyboard simply doesn't offer enough to justify 200 especially with other options like the maggerHE
And you're only getting the best keyboard in the world for it kek. A ton of high-end keyboards are in that price range and Wooting is still the best option by far imo.
They are not even close to destroying the rest with keyboards like the su75ultra, mu68ultra, m6ultra+, etc. xd even the mu68 ultra has 16khz polling rate, 32k full array, 128k single key scan rate, 0.08ms of latency, 0.01mm rt, 0.005mm, Snap Tap/SOCD, aluminum case for less than $200 dollars. Edit: The only thing that stands out to them is the immediate customer service, chinese products do not even have a guarantee or user service.
@@sethviews For now the best magnetic keyboards are those of everglide, iyx, rakka, sikakeyb. There are too many products on the market right now, but the best are the ones I mentioned above, some already come with the TTC King switches so they are perfect from the factory.

Uhm.. just a few days ago the Magger 68 HE got released. And its even better than wooting 😆 and that for only $99 .. for a alu cnc case!!! In germany we call the wooting prices usury, and its illegal.
@@JakubixIsHere Wooting also get manufactured in china 😅 Why should you sell it for 300 bucks, if you can sell it for 100? Wooting is obviously scamming people.
Does the magger have the Dynamic stroke thing? ( I legit saw it yesterday for the first time) I may buy that instead of a wooting because of the price?
Reasons not to buy this keyboard: 1. It's far too expensive. 2. The layout is oddly designed. 3. The included feet are terrible. They look like mismatched training wheels on a kid's bike.
People talk so much about the software as everyone would open it everyday to configure, reconfigure, reconfigure... That does not make any sense. Just save 2 to 3 different profiles once and you are good to go for months. 😅
The software is really great. Especially compared to ghub, steelseries or razer. They randomly break down and you can't save some settings to the board or mouse
Hall effect switches are much better for customizing the actuation points. Plus rapid trigger, rappy snappy, SOCD is a game changer compared to your $40 keyboard.
The software is pretty much constantly in development and is unrivalled in that aspect. I have a VXE ATK68 that destroys this build quality wise at under half the price (also a 68, not 80%) but the the software and experience doesn't come close.
@@ashy3340 Already tried the he60 when it came out and it was terrible, had it sent back and refunded. I have multiple keyboards already with some custom built ones for maximum silence that I use for work and other pre-lubed linear and tactile budget ones like Skyloong and DrunkDeer for every day use at home for my upstairs and downstairs PC. My Skyloong has a gasket mounted PCB with gasket mounted keys, EVA foam on the bottom to remove those hollow sounds and is a lot cheaper. Sound wise; after I lubed the stabs it's better sounding and better feeling than any expensive ~$200 keyboard that I've owned in the past. So with all due respect; I know how good this cheapo Skyloong is.
Wooting is way too expensive imo and I don't think I can put that much money on a keyboard.😢 If you're worried about software being bad, bloated, etc. then look at Nuphy HE keyboards' web software and tell me if it doesn't literally rival wootings 😂
just pure hype, Real Keyboard reviewers are saying its an overpriced mid keyboard. Only thing that it has going on it is it's good software among HE keyboards.
Literally nobody besides Hipyo says it, every other reviewer is saying the exact opposite. He just dislikes HE switches and did not test the keyboard in an objective way. Go check some proper reviewers like "Keybored" who actually test the features and compare different HE keyboards in detail. Many of the cheap boards have miss click problems, have high latencies and run sub 1000hz, or advertised features straight up don't work on the majority of them. Even Razer's Snap Tap was not properly implemented and had miss click problems because their software and sensors are not properly fine tuned, you can see that on Optimum's video, meanwhile it works flawlessly on the 60HE. There's a reason why Wooting is the most used keyboard for pro's despite them not offering sponsorships or partnership deals.
@@Djdkfks Fair fair, still, are you gonna disagree that the only thing is goood about that keyboard (Comparing to all the other keyboards available) is it's very good software. I am always comparing features against price and for that price I think it is undeniable that the build quality, feel and design are disappointing. Update: Also yea I've cheked the majority of HE keyboards and there are objectively better keyboards now for example the IQUNIX EZ60/EZ63. Same price, better sound, lower latency(fastest keyboard so far) and awesome software. Many of the keyboards that are comming out don´t have miss clicks problems or ghosting. You have to do some research thats all.

So I'm stuck with the Wooting 80HE and hope they release a more affordable 80he alu case in the future.
Mine is getting ready to ship soon. So, looking forward to it.
Great video!
Will this keyboard be banned like the Razer one?
the hardware isnt banned, its a feature on the keyboards that are (SOCD) this is off by default on most, if not all keyboards.
Thanks Wooting for making the best keyboard in Spanish, I am waiting for mine
the case and assembly still seem pretty cheap looking at the disassembly in the video. i would definitely call it overpriced and go as far as saying that you're paying for the software and not the keyboard itself.
Yup was so disappointed that I cancelled my order. WTF is that shit. If I wanted to mod my keyboard (and I don't) I would not do it on a $200 keyboard.
@@tehehe5929LMFAO 200 IS PEANUTS IN THE CUSTOM HOBBY

Do you have proof done with xflat?
Sound is meh, but should have DCS profile keycaps as default tho imo.
Thank you for the review, the weird layout of 80he steered me away and into keychron q3 he instead :(
Keychron looks like better value than 80he.
Oi Chris, review the DAv3 Hyperspeed will ya m8
Meanwhile me using 45$ Ajazz AK820max HE. Great budget RT keyboard, good sound no rattle, lubbed. With some cheap Aliexpress Evangelion translucent Keycaps it looks like 300$ KB. p s. I feel no big perfomance gap between it /wooting/drunkdeer. Some other budged HE kbs are VGN a75, Attack Shark K85, womier 68 he etc
Or the Magger 68 HE for only 99 bucks with the SAME specs as the Wooting 🤣
Has no translucent keycaps tho.. gotta get them aswell 🙃
Did u try all the keebs u mentioned and still go back to Ajazz or u just speculating?
my q1 he is a lil moddedd managed to get it to sound reeally good cant wait for my wooting 80 he tho
i would've preordered if it was TKL but no they refused to make one :(
they're here ? Nice, Started to feel like 80he gonna be a big scam , sadly i have to wait till November , Fun Video as always ,Gud job

Could you do a review on the arbiter studio 65/75 kitsune pro
I personally think the GMMK 3 HE even the plastic one is better and its cheaper. Easier to customize better sound and still pretty good software but no one can touch wooting software but do you want to pay for an over priced board for software?
I tried to actually think what I would use software for and besides setting actuation point once and enabling rapid trigger I can't think of another reason. You may want to do it on 60% or 65% layout more because you have a lot less keys, but on 80%? It simply doesn't matter. SOCD is considered cheating and outright banned so it doesn't matter to me as well.
Frankly I don't see why this should be better than Keyhcron Q1 HE:
- it costs more than Q1 HE
- it doesn't support open-source QMK firmware (which also allows to have an offline client and let the keyboard survive if the company fails)
- it lacks the option to have a knob
- it lacks bluetooth
- it lacks 2.4GHz wireless
- it's wider for no good reason (75% layout is better imo)
- wrist rest is more expensive and there is no cover case (anti dust)
To me the Q1 HE is the clear winner here.
exactly why I bought a Q1 HE recently, just seemed a lot better value for my money. Not forgetting how much better it sounds too.
but the performance though, the keychron Q1 HE is wayyy slower than the wooting
this is satire
There is a cover case.
It sounds very good IMHO
Would cop a Q1 HE in a heartbeat if it had north facing RGB for cherry profile shine through key caps
Also not in love with that fact that it’s technically hot swappable but for some reason “The Q1 HE is compatible with the magnetic switches sold on the Keychron website only.”
Can we scrim your team next week?
I don't personally think this is at all worth 200$, coming from a keyboard enthusiast.
@Yamiyogami so what do you recommend? As a "enthusiast"?
@punkr1124 someone who's in the keyboard hobby and has built a ton of keyboards. This keyboard simply doesn't offer enough to justify 200 especially with other options like the maggerHE
@punkr1124 take a look at the boog75 and compare it to this plastic garbage at the same price 😂
@Yamiyogami thank you for the recommendations have you built a zoom tkl? Any recommendations on switches?
@punkr1124 the zoom is aight. Personally i don't like its sound profile but if that's your thing, then oil kings should work great with them
Going to save up to get the ZInc version of this KB!
It scratches way too easily
pro x superlight 2 dex review when?
Hipyo Tech reviewed this keyboard too...
Still applies to the 60HE and Two HE.
Yeah, key pressing is much more complicated with this one. This is beyond being a keyboard.
i have a custom keyboard and i still want this so bad
I'm getting this early to mid october unfortunately. I am very excited to get this soon though!
why no buy zinc alloy case :(((( Im gonna jump off a ledge now

That is a decent price - custom keyboards cost way more. Get your money up
Just say that you are broke xD
And you're only getting the best keyboard in the world for it kek. A ton of high-end keyboards are in that price range and Wooting is still the best option by far imo.
They are not even close to destroying the rest with keyboards like the su75ultra, mu68ultra, m6ultra+, etc. xd
even the mu68 ultra has 16khz polling rate, 32k full array, 128k single key scan rate, 0.08ms of latency, 0.01mm rt, 0.005mm, Snap Tap/SOCD, aluminum case for less than
$200 dollars.
Edit: The only thing that stands out to them is the immediate customer service, chinese products do not even have a guarantee or user service.
What’s your favorite competitors to it? I have the drunk deer A75 pro currently, but want to try 1-2 new keyboards for fun.
@@sethviews For now the best magnetic keyboards are those of everglide, iyx, rakka, sikakeyb. There are too many products on the market right now, but the best are the ones I mentioned above, some already come with the TTC King switches so they are perfect from the factory.
@@matthewcarvajal6152 Which models of the brands you mentioned do you consider to be the best (enthusiast) keyboards? I didn't find any mention of the MU68 Ultra, only Pro.
The Polar 65 Kitsune is a phenomenal option for under $200. Best sounding stock HE board I've owned out of the 10 or so I've had.
@@eduardo.pimentel The su75ultra(75% pcb layout) and the mu68ultra(65% pcb layout) at this very moment are the best keyboards on the market for the consumer, even so the market continues to evolve and each time they will release a better product, but there's no way you wanna get the wooting 80HE, the price does not justify its performance and functionalities, even the hm80 which is a chinese copy of the 80HE has a screen on the keyboard, better performance and better switches XD.
Edit: The mu68ultra is only sold in China at this time, but they will mainly place it in distributors with retailers such as aliexpress, alibaba, etc. and the su75ultra hasn't gone on sale yet.
i love your jumper
HOLY they right to say its the best of overall.
What is that insanely weird layout with the / and | being to the left of Z and the oddly shaped enter key? who needs an enter key that big??
Wooting didn't want to do a TKL layout because it's "too mainstream" so they came up with whatever the Hell this abomination of a layout is.
its an ISO layout it has this difference from ANSI layout ansi is only US but ISO is european and almost every country here uses their language with ISO layout, for gaming ANSI is better
i do as an european im too used to this layout cuh.

@@InkLyned So you're just broke
Reasons not to buy this keyboard:
They randomly break down and you can't save some settings to the board or mouse
no palmrest? Bad.
Wrist rest is for resting
So it has pretty much all the features of my $40 skyloong keyboard but with hall effect magnetic switches? Why is it so expensive?
Hall effect switches are much better for customizing the actuation points. Plus rapid trigger, rappy snappy, SOCD is a game changer compared to your $40 keyboard.
It isn’t for what you are getting. The best gaming keyboard in existence
@@VexxedSR with all due respect, you just don’t know how bad your keyboard really is. Once you try something like a wooting you will realize.

So close. But having no home / end keys is a no-go for me.
just pure hype, Real Keyboard reviewers are saying its an overpriced mid keyboard. Only thing that it has going on it is it's good software among HE keyboards.
like who?
@@DiamondLobbyReviews like Hipyo Tech
