I really enjoy your reviews even though I cannot understand a word of Dutch. The passion, the expression and insights are great. Thank goodness for subtitles.
I have no problems watching and reading in the same time. Maybe because I watch a lot of non english good movies and I need subtitles, so my brain got used to it.
I usually like this reviewer because things he says make sense but here I don't know what he's on about. He says this tire/size combo is too grippy but then says on the limit grip is not there...wtf? and then he compares it to the previous cayman's gradual engine..again going off tangent...what do you not like? the new cayman's higher flatter torque? or the tire/size combo? since he's certainly not talking about suspension... Also you don't dump a clutch to launch a car, you have to ride it a bit like slip it...slowly take your foot off the clutch but quickly...hard to explain...Maybe he needs to go back to driving more manual cars...seems he's spent too much time driving modern cars with all kinds of diff autos/dtcs/dual clutch autos and whatnot The sound part didn't make for a great argument since he didn't even launch the car properly like they did with the previous cayman.
Heel goed filmpje!
Heb beiden overigens zelf jaren gereden.
Great honest review! I build those Porsches online and I can't believe how expensive it gets to add options. I start with 911 or cayman and add PDK, sport chrono, ride control, better wheels, best stereo, a bit of leather and the multifunction steering wheel and that's 20,000 extra! Gotta save up more I guess haha
The sensible thing to do is to buy a pre-owned one with 10K Km or so... they are basically as new still, and you get the options for "free"... You are wasting silly money on the top end stereo while it really isn't that great for the money. I had asked a professional audio fitter about it and they say I'd be much better off if you put something like an Alpine KTP-445 in there, some better speakers and sound proofing in the doors... Sport Chrono is dispensable, just use the pedals when you are feeling sporty! I rarely use it and then still interfere with the pedals even in auto mode, so you can scrap that and won't miss it. What are you gonna do? Racing at the lights like in your dreams? ;) Maybe say good-bye to the leather, as it is still a nice interior; don't forget parking sensors though! ;) Torque Vectoring is a waste of money; PDLS lights are a nice fetish object but absolutely not necessary... there you can save thousands.
without sport chrono you dont get to select ride: normal sport, sport plus; and i wont want to drive it like im racing at track 100 % of the time. much better to get premium sound, rather than let local audio place start cutting into wiring of such expensive car, and new head unit will not work as well with controls in the car, could be nightmare. if i want to spend money, whats the difference between 65K and 90K ? When you buy Audi S4 do you order it without options and NAV and everything that makes it fun? When you sell it you get more money for high option cars. Also people who sell a porsche quick with 10K Km have beat on the car. if you get it 6 years later with 10 K Km then its been babied, but who wants a 6 year old porsche? leather and headlights are superficial i guess you could do without btw when you say "pedals" do you mean paddles ?
Nobody is exchanging head units - it is an amp that you can disappear behind the glove box, or some such place; speaker membranes screw in to the exact spot where the factory ones sit - nothing gets damaged on your precious car. and you can go back to factory 100% by just screwing the old ones back in any time... btw, people are quite invasive when adding sports exhausts and all sorts of shit under the hood without complaining. The factory audio is totally over-priced, if you feel good about having a Bose sticker or whatever on your door, go for it. And I have never used Sport Plus (well, I have on track, but not in my own car), not even on the Autobahn... and since I still manually interfere all the time with "Sport" anyway (largely because it cannot guess when I want to downshift for a corner, etc), it is not really necessary. I am not here to say it is a complete waste of money, but if you are looking to cut down on your 20K options list, something has to go - and if you daily this car, you will be in normal mode 85% of the time anyway, doing your normal commutes like everybody else - so if you have extra cash, you get it, and if you don't, it is not a big loss... Personally I would not spend an extra 2K on rims, but of course rims do have or can have quite an impact on the overall looks, so if he cannot compromise there, it has to be elsewhere. I would not get the rims though, because at least you can upgrade rims at a later stage, but Sport Chrono not so much... (= not at all ;) ) That's why I am saying get a low mileage pre-owned one - they often come very well optioned, are like new, for a good price... and of course you would then get a 6 cylinder, not 4 cylinder, unless you want that for some weird reason...
You only miss out on sport+ with a non-sport-chrono car. And launch control for the PDK. Launch control can be retrofitted (just a piece of software). The dynamic motor mounts are also part of the sport chrono package, but I doubt you feel much of them. Biggest advantage of not having the sport chrono is not having the clock that constantly ticks when you're driving.
Boxergeluid is heerlijk!
Not a single car enthusiast reviewer that knows how to take 4 or 6 bolts off an engine cover... no curiosity, no geekiness, no DIY skills, hm? Who is gonna be first after all these years? :) Aww.. that mysterious, unreachable mid-mounted engine... Jesus Christ.
Let me get this straight. You like it for being a fast car, hate it for extra expensive options (agree on that) and for having too much grip, loving it for being a really well made car but hate it again because it doesen;t have the 6 cil boxer engine and for having the max torque between ~2000rpm until 5000rpm. For a normal use and ocasional track driving it;s a very well made car for the average Joe. I am confused ... maybe you should get a BRZ and return to this car after 2 weeks.
That's exactly what i've been thinking. This guy is confused, maybe he just wants to ride the stupid bandwagon that thinks this car has to suck because it no longer uses a 6cyl. When was having too much grip an issue...ever! for an everyday driver? gripping is faster than drifting heck most of these journalist don't even know how to drift properly and waste clock time when trying to show off their drift moves while time cars and judging handling.
I really enjoy your reviews even though I cannot understand a word of Dutch. The passion, the expression and insights are great. Thank goodness for subtitles.
but you have to watch it twice, first time to read it, then second to watch it
I have no problems watching and reading in the same time. Maybe because I watch a lot of non english good movies and I need subtitles, so my brain got used to it.
Altijd genieten.
why everybody complaint about the sound??? not a big issue......
Graag de link voor die Boxer 6 cd!
fanastic car, even with 4 cylinder

You are damn funny and very professional in terms of review. Thanks a lot for the honest review.
Concurrent? Alfa 4C natuurlijk! Hoe kon je die nou vergeten Wouter.
Heerlijke bak!

En ook een top video!
super goede review van de boxster!!!

Wait until all cars are electric and silent!! You'll wish you had that "rubbish" flat four sound!
Cars will drive on water.....
I will never buy such a let say car so no problem. IF MOST OF PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS AND BUY ELECTIC CARS?
Voor dat geld zou ik een RS3 kopen. Goeie review trouwens!
daanydark99 hoeveel kost een rs3?
+C'est La Vie minder dan 65.000
amin kikker 2e hands of nieuw?
of een 2e hands Mercedes amg :)
Denzel van Lent welke amg's? Onder de 80k
Good review, mate. But is it truly a better Cay than the flat 6? Scale of 1/10?
I wish I had these editing skills. I have a Cayman and a channel but no skills in either. :)
Goeie review
4:08 That's what she said.

What happens at 4:43 with the engine? wtf
BongPow3r he showed that you can't do a clutch dump @5000rpm, if you do it, it shut down the engine
3:35 waar is dit?
cayman 2.0 is the best city car
Your language is so funny. It’s like you just made up a language 🤣
Mooi ding, toch blijer met mijn 991
its a wrx coupe
he is funny :D
een clutch dub? nooit van gehoord
Geert Wilders clutch dump lijkt me
nope
