- Here is a quick comparison of the Rode NT1 Signature Series and the 4th Generation!
If you're a musician, content creator, podcaster, or voiceover artist looking for a great sounding affordable mic, then you need to check out the Rode NT1 microphones!

NT1 Signature Series is the pick for me. They have the high-end spice I've been looking for, it's like the Air feature on the Focusrite Solo, but I will upgrade my audio interface to Arturia Minifuse 2 which has no air feature but it is ideal for this NT1 Signature Series to pair with:) & the price to performance of this mic is increadible. I consider it the best budget mic. Great video👏
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I’m glad you liked the video 😊
I have ended up going with the exact same microphone and audio interface randomly :D ! How have you found them ? I'm waiting on mine to be delivered :)
What i really hate about the 4gen is that they removed the amazing rycote shockmount with that Amazing Metal Pop Filter. Even the capsule in the mic itself was suspended in a rycote shockmount. Why rode go that way? Why?
You’re the only person that I’ve seen mention this but it’s so true. I also prefer the old rycote shock-mount with the metal filter better than the new model.
I have one of the original year 2000 Rodes NT1 Condenser mics. I have to admit it lacks the quality of the more recent NT1 series. And I paid about $500 for it back then.
@@Daniel_Antonio_Arellano782 I head a test comparison from Podcastage and I agree. I also prefer the newer models compared to the original
At first i thought the signature series is a great deal, but when i got it myself, i compared it to nt1 4th gen, and it felt like a cheap copy, even the body was not as sturdy as the 4th gen, then i tested the sound and it's a day/night difference, i prefer the 4th gen to any other nt1 at this point
In my opinion, I think both are great mics but the SS definitely has a brighter sound while the 4th gen has a more neutral sound. I also prefer the 4th gen.
Can you please
suggest a good interface under 200 dollars??
I would recommend the following 3 interfaces:
1. EVO4 $129
Here is my review: th-cam.com/video/-6KwLO3m0FQ/w-d-xo.html

2. Audient id4 $199

3: Universal Audio Volt 176 $177

Hope it helps!
What type of interface would you guys recommend, I’m in the market and trying to find some
Depends on many factors like budget and use case. Here are a couple of reviews I made here on the channel based on different budgets:

NT1 5th Gen is better than both. No need for an audio interface when the NT1 has a high-end ultra-low-noise preamp inside with 32 bit floating point support. It’s better than 95% of the interfaces out there.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The 5th gen is also a great mic! The only issue is that it doesn’t have an output for headphones which means, without an interface, you can’t monitor yourself unless you plug your headphones straight into your computer.
@@homestudioacademy Yeah, good point!
What is the difference between the NT1A and today's Signature?
@@fbastudios I believe the NT1A has been discontinued and it was more expensive ($229) than the Signature Series which is sold for $159.
How does the nt1 5 make it brighter than the 4th?
The mic’s frequency response has more boosted top end
@@homestudioacademysame as the nt1a?
I was told the signature series has the same flat frequency response as the black nt1…
@@SorryBoutThatBuddy the frequency response is different. The Signature Series has a brighter top end than the 4th Gen.
at2020과 nt1 kit 는 어떤차이가 있을까요?
would you recommend an upgrade to the signature series from the at2020? was wondering since the price is close
In my opinion, based on sound quality and included accessories, yes I think it’s worth it. However, I would only encourage upgrading if you are currently unhappy with the results you’re getting with your current setup.
@@homestudioacademy yeah, it’s definitely a good mic but when i make stuff with other artist with better mics the quality difference really shows, thanks for the reply!
@@ItsClutchLmao glad to help! 😊
Are you also a beat maker
@@Woogie1804 no, im a singer/songwriter and content creator 😊
The curve is from 5th gen
You didn't show the curve with the signature series

I was literally watching this hoping to see the curve and you didn't show me the curve where's the curve

NTI gen 4 is better both for vocals as well as instruments. NT1 gen 5 doesn't sound sweet. Otherwise go for GTZ U 87.
