Realy? I think that the tips here are simple and can enhance a single monologue audio track beautifully. The normalizing and audio level work tips offered here are very important even if the sound itself is left unchanged.
Hey man thanks so much I am stating a new TH-cam channel and I’m learning in the process and these videos you made are helping me a lot I really appreciate it.
Great job on this. Love your style. I still swear by my Rode Wireless Pro even though all My friends love DJI. I’d live that snap into ISB to skip the wires!
Glad i found this video - been using the mini shotgun mics from Rode and MOVO for live interviews via smartphone, and my production mngr from the TV show i work with is ALWAYS dissatisfied with the audio… collects too much background noise. If i am not careful, the audio is worthless usually due to proximity to traffic noises or other bs.
Love your tutorials. Always learn something new. I had bought the pop voice mic after enrolling in your 14 day filmmaker course. It’s a corded miracle. Time to upgrade to the wireless for different projects.❤🎙️
To save yall time, i bought the Rode USB c for iphone, it works, but the sound quality difference is negligible. You barely notice any change at all. And you do have to take your case off for it to fit because these idiot companies are still not factoring that we ALL have cases on our phones.
I use the Rode VideoMicro on professional documentaries.....as a boom mic. I find them, being more Cardioid as opposed to Super Carioid, to capture quite natural interview audio.
I dont like audio processing, i love raw audio it sounds like mo aesthetic and more appealing to the viewers specially in making outdoor videos and commentary videos
I had been using my Blue Yeti connected to my iPhone or video through Zoom when doing desk videos, but the sound dips and clips out...unsure what to actually call it. I also have the corded and cordless Pop voice based on Anthony's reviews of it. This video is super helpful because my audio seems to be terrible and kills the whole video.
Another AMAZING option is the MOVO WMX2 wireless lavs. Uses nice small lav mics, wired to small receivers, a battery case and plugs into the phone with a similar tiny plug-in receiver.
I have the Movo mic, one in each bag. It’s really good for the price but terrible in wind. In my experience, they work better for subjects far away than the internal. Without the dead cat, even the slightest breeze from air conditioning will cause dropouts. I just got back from the beach and my footage is 100% dropping out even with the dead cat. The internal mic did much better on my iPhone 15 Pro. I need a new mic for the beach that won’t break the bank.
Great video! I have my Blue Yeti Microphone connected to my iPhone and it works great. The issue I am having is that when I want to do a Zoom meeting, I can't hear anyone because my iPhone is trying to use my mic as a speaker! I know that I can plug in headphones to the mic and hear my attendees but am looking for a way to not have to use headphones. I can't seem to find any settings in either the iPhone or Zoom how to disable using the mic as a speaker. Any suggestion?
Hey there, I'm wondering if you have any suggestion on what would be the best setup for recording drums and or mostly loud Amplified sound question mark assuming there's a way to adjust the sensitivity on an app?
@@russa.370 These calls are VALUE PACKED. If you can make it live and ask questions it's great, but know that the replays are helpful too, so you could go back and watch some you've missed and more than likely gain more knowledge that way as well.

Awesome video, couldn't agree more that those small mics you mount on your phone make no sense, there are so many bluetooth wireless mics around, it doesn't really make sense to use anything else (I really liked the airpods example, but I have the DJI Mic). In terms of cleaning up audio, it's so much easier in Resolve, with Voice Isolation and Dialogue Leveler, it's just one click and does basically the same thing (and more) as the adobe tool. That is a pretty simple no fuss method, but if you want to do things like auto duck your music so it doesn't clash with your voice over, you can do basically anything in Fairlight, and you don't need to export, upload, download, re-import.
Whats the difference between the Hollyland LARK M2 Wireless Lavalier Microphone 2TX+3RX (from the link you've posted and the Hollyland LARK M2 Wireless Microphone System ? Or are they the same thing? Thanks
Interesting video. I tried the Free Adobe Enhance Speech tool and I thought the result was too robotic. The enhance % setting is not available in the free version. Other than that enjoyed the video.
Thanks again for this awesome video. I was wondering is it possible to attach the Hollyland to your skin? I see you attach it to your shirt only. It might be quite visible under a shirt as well?
I use a Hollyland M2 and do vlogging at Disneyland. When I sit down to do a food review or just talking but the M2 mics up all the conversations around me even with noise cancellation turned on. Do I need to use a directional mic?
I want to mic to connect to my iPhone 14 Plus to record bird sounds and calls. Any suggestions. And also is there an option to turn off internal mic so that it records with external mic?
It is not direction and it picks up too much background noise. I own one and use NTG for my mobil and NTG 5 for studio. I use the Rode Pro as a 2nd audio or to save my NTG audio.
I got the pop voice you recommended in another video but when I use it it sounds quiet and muffled.. I returned it and got another to see if it was defective but nope. Perhaps it’s the adapter I use to connect it to my iPhone?.. what adapter do you use?
I have several of your recommendations; however I got the Rode Go Wireless, not that great, at all; bulky, large square, and way over priced. I'm going with your Hollyland mic, this year. I have many Rode products and mics I LOVE just not thier wireless set- to hard to use. FYI>
Gunna have to acoustically treat the room. Put carpets down. Throw acoustic foam on the walls and ceilings, it will make an insane amount of difference whereas no mic by itself can eliminate echo
I have an android phone I’m looking for a small microphone I can take into concerts because my quality is really bad and I can’t take my camera equipment cause they won’t let you film in certain places
My mic has made terrible scratchy sounds during recording. I have a ZealSound mic that had great reviews and it sounded great until about 5 mins into my video it started making scratchy sounds. I'm assuming it's a problem with the mic? Or is this a problem with set up?
Great tutorial. But bad luck for me. I am in Mexico. Your link to get the lark m2 with a discount sends me to amazon Mexico where the price is $ 324.00. BH has it for $ 139 plus taxes and shipping. Can you provide a different link? Thank you.
PLEASE HELP!! i bought a wired lavelier mic and an adapter to connect it to my iphone 13. when i record a video using this and play the video back the mic has not picked up any sound and the video is as if the mic isnt even connected, does anyone know the issue here and can help me ?
Look up the difference between TRS and TRRS mics. Smartphones only work with one of those types and if what you bought is the wrong type you’d want an adapter which is usually pretty cheap. That should help!
This video, contrary to what I thought, does not answer my question. Indeed, apart from the voice, there is no advice for a microphone (low budget in my case) that can improve the sound for capturing a show for example or any situation that is not that of a podcast or a vlog...
That’s definitely a more unique scenario, it’s impossible to cover everything in one video. But a shotgun mic would really be your only option. Or get a dedicated recorder and place it near the show. Separate from your phone.
@@MrPaulXavier Thank you for your reply. I had thought about this solution. I don't know if this is a unique situation...or if it's just me who is unique? 😄

@@MrPaulXavier It's truly pro-grade advice from a pro theater actor when I asked them years ago how I could possibly improve my vocal recordings for my singer-songwriter project.
