I recently got a Blue signature series 💙. I teamed it up with a Kaotica Eyeball... I think it sounds absolutely Amazing... I don't have a 5th Generation. I was shopping for 1 when I found the Signature Series. In the States, the 5th Gen is 249$ an the Signature Series is 149$... So if you have a interface like a Scarlett. It's worth the savings. Hope this helps anyone reading these comments.
In the US the signature is $160 the 5th Gen $250 if you're just interested in USB recording the 5th Gen is worth it but if you're thinking about seriously recording music with an interface the signature series seems like a better deal if you don't plan to use USB
Great content! I feel like the signature series hasn’t gotten the usual love other flagship mics get. Sounds great to me and makes me think about value propositions of other mics.
Please, please, please, please - don´t ever put background music on mic presentations. Especially since you seem to have a sound treated room. Had to downvote!
They're the same mic. You can even check the manuals for both and see the frequency responses are identical. If the video had no post-processing done on it and simply was recorded at the same time with the video repeating you'd see it's identical. Again I think you're hearing the processing but again they're both the same.
Thanks for the info. I was all set to buy the 5th Generation. Since I have an interface paying the extra $$$ would've been a waste. Thanks again! I owe you a pint!😎
I love design of sm7b , also sm7db is black and its brilliatn dark color! but! in my country sm7b costs for 500-600$ and sm7db for 700$ - in russia. And with sound quality i think n51 signature is great, i bought it few days ago and waiting for a test, i have right now at2020 but i dont like at2020, its good for price but now it looks so old and i think new microphones defenetly worth for changing, i know thats dynamic sm7b would be great in untreated room, but anyway rode nt1 signature is 1st place less noisy condeser microphones thats perfect, only one problem is reverberation in untreated room, but i think for 170$ its worth it to trying to use blanket / curtains / floor mat and other stuff for reduce and making a more or less adequate recording room. I want to record guitars and vocals and I hope my choice will be justified . I know also about sm57, but i think for vocal/guitar nt1 is better, in general, let's see how realistic it is to make a good sound with rode nt1 signature at home if you force the entire apartment with furniture. Also i think rode nt1 sounds in quality better than sm7b, in some youtube tests, but ofc this tests was in good treated acoustic room. perhaps if Shur had improved their microphones or made the price tag more affordable, then I would have looked at shure. I also love to watch podcastage youtube with his music comparison, i think sm7db is great with guitars, but u need also thinking about making acoustic room, i saw his old video with sm7b and new with sm7db, he makes some updates of his room and with good room its sound better, but its should be the same sounds, but its not, not sure thats it was because of +28 db, because microphone its only -60db and higher should not helps with sounds quality, so anyway, i think with both microphones is good to spending time on acoustic room.
I have the SM7b. I'm actually thinking about switching to the NT1 because it's much less noisy. SM7b is honestly horrible for spoken voice. Well, it sounds phenomenal but there's no getting around the noise floor that is easily audible after pumping in the required 70 dB of gain... So I would suggest sticking with your NT1.
Snobbery aside, NT1 a very good microphone. The fact that it now costs 150 Euro/Dollar is incredible, a professional grade microphone for such a small amount of money is difficult to grasp. Everyone drools over Neumanns, but there is really no need, no magic, nothing special, different frequency curve, and that is it.
@@tulsamccleantry again. I had to keep shopping for mine. Even Rode didn't have them in stock for awhile. But they emailed me back, an let me know all colors were in stock.
@@tulsamcclean yea I immediately ordered a Blue one. I might get a second just to have it. Lol. Actually I want to collect them all. Not gonna lie. I hope you like yours. Is the red a nice red? The blue is like a powder blue. Very subtle.
@@tulsamcclean nice. I make music myself. I have a Tonor can't remember which model. I couple MXL's an a Sterling I got as a gift when I started making music.

Comparing mics by turning post processing on and off, is... i'm genuinely facepalming right now
this needs to be top comment

Update: I ended up going with the black signature series and a Scarlett Solo 4th Gen and couldn't be happier 😁👍❤️
Hey according to you both mic sounds similar? Since I don't want the USB, I can go for signature series.
Yes, signature is 5th gen without usb interface

Good job my friend, which one would you recommend, im getting the signature black rode nt1 in less price
Hi …if the signature series is without the usb do you need to get the AI-1 audio interface that you use with the 4th Generation NT1..? 🤔🦋
you need any audio interface
Thank you 😁🦋

I feel the Signature series sound smoother, fuller, and warmer.

@@Dracomies It must sound fuller, thicker, warmer with those colours. 😄😁🤣
Thanks for Video.

I've been looking at NT1 and NT1 5 generation for a while now. Which do you recommend considering that I do not plan to use a USB connection?
Thanks for the video. I was looking at both of these and could not tell what the distinction was.
All of these mics should come in color if i had to pick i would go with the usb
Ngl signature sounds way better with or without processing 😅 any reason why?
Thanks. I’ve been wondering if there’s much series difference:)) in the Nt1 series:).
Nice video!! I will go to buy one of these but i didnt know the differences, in my case the XLR connector is enough!
Hi, I am disappointed to find out, that not a single Rode software supports the main selling point being the 32 bit float recording!
The main selling point was usb for me

5th.

5th generation sounds better more quality
They're both 5th generation
I just hate the gratuitous badging Rode is notorious for. I don't pay for a mic to be their marketer for free.
🙂👍
“Oh and It also comes in a variety of colours…such as red, purple, green, pink and…” I’m in 🫡😂
those easter egg colors are hideous and make the mic look like a cheap toy.
i like the pastel
5 mins in... wish i'd skipped all of this...
Worst "Mic review" ever
Hope you're okay after what was clearly a very distressing time for you.
