Blackbeard, to minimise bubbles forming on the silicon mould, I modify a very small 12v motor (uneven weight attached to spindle) and then clamp it to the side of the formwork box. This effectively agitates and vents the bubbles out through the top. Especially also useful for fine detailed formes. Playing with catalyst ratios will also slow the cure (and, I think, increase shore strength) allowing more time for bubbles to vent.
Probably not important in this case but useful method all the same.
Thanks again for your wishes, hoping the same in return.

Get some real honeycomb. With a hot knife, cut off the tops of the cells. Turn the comb upside down and allow all of the honey to drain out. Wash the comb with cold water until all of the honey has been washed away. (Alternatively, make nice with a beekeeper and have him give you some comb that has been licked clean by the bees.)
Pour resin into the comb and turn it upside down into a pan with 1/4" of uncured resin in it. Allow the resin to cure.
Put the cured block of resin in boiling water to melt the wax. Wash the resin with vegetable oil to remove the last vestiges of wax, then wash thoroughly with soap and water to remove the oil.
Voila! You now have a cast of the insides of the honeycomb cells!
Figure out something incredible to do with it!
