im so glad i found this channel. as an art student, you’re not only teaching fundamentals of graffiti but also what makes art, as a whole, a masterpiece.
Eye opener for me. Been doing graff since 16 years approx. I always loved wildstyle, so that's what I learned. Skipped all the basics, which I'm paying for now. Just never could figure out how to make it flow properly. I never really thought about applying and thinking about visual cues and composition in this way for graff. I think we can agree on that it is heavily used on for instance landscape paintings since hundreds of years. Strange that I never came to think about it before. Thank you. /@down_bsc
Another great video bro, but can you do one on flow starting with a sketch so that we can see how to apply these skills when starting a piece? It's so misunderstood today how letter structure & flow create balance & how that balance is crucial to a great looking piece. Thanks in advance & please keep up the great work bro
Holy shit amazing video dude! If been duin graff for about 6-7 years now and its my first time hearing about momentum flow most of slovenian styles are more based on letter similarity..

And a MAD thank you for those e-books too man, I really appreciate it You're awesome, keep being awesome and once again thank you
Although this stuff isn't new to me (not that I'm a great artist or anything) I always like watching stuff like this because every single artist explains these fundamental concepts differently, in my experience. For example, I knew "Line Similarity and Uniformity" but under a totally different name. And momentum, although I get that explanation is about the last way I would have thought to explain it. That way overcomplicated the subject in my mind. I think that it's important to not underestimate the significance that getting different perspectives and different explanations, on the same fundamentals, can have on your overall knowledge. Learning the same thing from a different perspective is still a great way to increase your knowledge on a subject.
First, let me say, there isn't any need to like your own comments. I can see the live views on the video to see people aren't watching this particular video enough for someone else to have liked your comment. Second, I'm super confused by you man. I've been following your channel for a while now.. loving this video.. Form e personally I think the hardest thing to master has always been flow.. I don't think I've actually got it down yet 100% but still it is the hardest thing in graff.
I'm renowned around my county for being a dope writer but I just got schooled on my toyness lmfao time to step outta the galaxy with these lessons! Thanx for this video brotha lessons learned!
This is a bit overwhelming haha but that’s mostly because I’m just getting into doing graffiti. I’ll probably look at this some years down the line and understand more of what is being said, but from what I can tell this was a great tutorial regardless! There’s so much information that I’m being exposed to and haven’t learned/noticed before, really nice :D also, I’m not sure if you’ve done more videos on handstyles but if not can you do more? Maybe with demonstrations (if it isn’t too much trouble)? I feel like I do better that way. Keep up the good work!
In our country we named it elements of the letter, details of the letter and position about perspective, shadows and letters. Respect for your work, but i don't think they start to sketching with this kind of lines that you show. In my opinion this it happens automatic if you work with the same elements of every letters in the sketch. Thanks ! bug up!
I hear where you coming from but I watch more for inspiration than technicality, because it's not calligraphy it's graffiti but as an old dude I like the new generation and what they have done but I think they get a bit too technical with it but it's all good.
Its actually really easy to flow, lemme explain 👇 So basicly in order to flow u need to know the basics. If we take a artist like bowzer fx and we break down his art then u will see he has flow but still keeps it simple mostly. What im trying to say is flow comes automatically cause the basics flow by them selves
Yo grim are you working on any oil paintings rn? If ya are could you make more videos about them, and just about oil painting in general. Thank you man love your stuff.
Hey, your Videos are awesome!! the only thing that stands in the way of the implementation is the fact that I come from Germany. and my English is not the best, so I don't really understand individual things in the video even after watching it 5 times. But there is no comparable German-speaking painter / youtuber who explains everything down to the last detail like you. and you won't find anything on the internet either. Do you have a page or a document where that is explained in writing somehow?
i like mad c 's work its wildstyle but one can read it easy. some writers are destorting the letters too much and then it looks like a cool colerfull nice artwork but it seems just like abstract art.
what, I use all these same methods too. Every graffiti artist does. Each person may use them differently (thats what style is) but we all still use them.
Oh because when I used to use my work to show as an example people wouldn't believe the info, so if I showed graffiti artists they love using this stuff then they can't deny it. Besides the people in the video use it much better than me hahaha. The hope is now people can look at any graffiti (including mine ) after watching this vid and spot the flows.
Everytime I watch your videos my brain hurts, but that’s because I’m learning so much, in such a short period of time by your videos cuz literally I can’t stop watching
O...wow...well thanks man for this knowledge you just blew my mind. I was searching what is a flow actually in graffs,This is whole new different universe man Welp,I guess im lost then XD btw:drawing tips from people like you helps me to never give up on my drawing passion, keep up the great work yo
I was really looking foward to this. :-) The last part when you talk about the transition of the line flow in a Saber piece is a bit puzzling. Are you saying that in order to change the line flow you need to repeat at least once the angle of the line? To make two horizontal ones, two at angle, to get graduately to vertical??
Thats simply one way, yes for sure. You could also (for example) have a horizontal line , then draw another line uniform or similar to it near by then have that line swoop up or down to become vertical. This would be like the saber part of the video except we are only using the yellow circled line and the dark orange and nothing else. This is more direct and only uses two lines. Understand however you dont have to transition flow at all if your piece overall has enough flow. You dont even need that much flow either, look at straight letters for example, they dont too much worry about transitioning flow because they have more than enough flow to not need transition. Transitioning flow is a great way to enhance flow or get more flow when you dont have enough but its not a must.
I love your content man but this is way too hard to understand for me like left side of m r idk but this is really confusing for me who is about a month into graffiti
Yup you sure can. This is a fundamental so it applies to all graffiti granted different forms of graffiti arent going to use it the same. Like line uniformity and similarity constantly. Momentum flow is used too but because you can't really go positioning the letters all crazy like in pieces so instead momentum flow is carried through from one line to the next. Cursive is a great example of this. One liner handstyles come from cursive and many of those lessons from cursive apply to one liners and both are dependent on momentum flow
Man, I have trouble making out letters in these pieces. With MadC's I had trouble at first, then I could see it. With the blue piece I couldn't see letters at all. Is there some way I can improve making out letters in graffiti?
I am German and really very bad in English. Since I don't understand the tips well, I wanted to ask if someone would summarize them for me in German or English. Google Translate will help me with an English summary. Best regards
