thanks a lot for sharing my KALK-piece. So cool you like it. P.S.: just a little mistake in the description, it´s Kreuz not Kruez. Best greetz from Germany and keep going with such nice videos.
lol thanks dude for the correction, i fixed it for you. also really sick work man, loved the piece if anything i have to thank you for submitting. you really hit that nice sweet spot between having enough detail to be hard to read for new artists in graffiti, and having enough detail to break down to learn from while having clear letters to see once we broke things down. your piece really let us teach this topic !
@@Theartistblock hey man how do I send u some of my work? U don’t need to use it in video but I don’t talk to anyone about graff so idk. I got a nice straight letter I want u to see!
Haha, I could not even read the artwork at 1:50 anymore, on which you said that it's easy to read. I was watching this to learn to read graffitis, but I think I am a hopeless case. 😀
9:48 the "e" could be uppercase maybe? idk man i have been reading graffiti for years but i swear some wildstyles give me a headache. if it is an uppercase e it could be really flying under the radar because the middle stick looks more like a detail than anything else but if you look at it that way it seems a cool stylized version of what i like to call the "classic E" in graffiti. idk if i explained myself with these words, i would like to draw some examples but unfortunately youtube doesn't work that way.
maybe, him and i are chatting in DM to help him with his second e, he's expressed how he struggles with the second e and wants to clean that up for the future.
Dope vid! Glad I finally made it! Mine was COFA. I’ll make sure to keep in mind what u said thanks for the advice. I sometimes do blocky but mainly do Tubey/organic styles wonder what u think of those, I try my best to think of all the fundamentals and I also do fine art. Idk if u remember me but I was also Jaguar in ur twitch streams. Anyways thanks again!
Outstanding! Thanks so much, man! That helped me a TON!!!! Much appreciated! 👍 I live by some train tracks, where they trains have to slow down as they come into down (plus they cross an busy intersection) ...and I get to see some of the best art every on some of the train cars! Now, I can start breaking down the more wildstyle ones and understanding them! 👍 Also, I think it should be pointed out [credit where it's due]: I made a post on the The Arist Block's last video asking if, maybe, this topic could be covered sometime so people like myself (who are new to the art form) can learn to read the very stylized pieces? Not only did the creator respond with a positive attitude, they suggested they would make a video in the topic. I figured it would be down the line sometime... not the next video! Thanks for being such an amazing creator... not just your content but interacting with your fan base! If I could sub twice, I would! 👍
Lol thanks for the video idea in all honesty, I know this is a topic many struggle with so it's a great vid idea. I appreciate the suggestion, gave us the chance to talk about a unique topic
I am sure some people will argue but this is absolutely spot on. Graffiti is about the name or its not. If it’s not then why even write just make design. I see some writers do this especially 3D painters and I accept it’s not writing its design. You’re not a writer if you’re not writing.
thanks for the review bro♥️ hope we can chat about some of the mistakes i’ve made (mine was the BLCK piece). Also random question but what happened to your twitch man? do you not do that anymore?
still cant read shit in wildstyles. my braint doesnt process it to letters, especially if they are made up of different patches and colours i sometimes try 10min and can still only guess something. and usually i get 3 of 5 letters right 😂
The video was pretty good... Even after 3 years of nonstop looking at grafitti pieces I still can't read wild style... I get it some times but still my brain doesn't brain looking at wild style
Yea idk bro those last two is too much for my brain to process i appreciate the video but at this point I just don’t think I’ll be able to read wild styles
I'm a railfan and I was hoping to be able to read some of the words on the boxcars, but apparently I'm not supposed to. Seems kinda pointless. (Shrug) I guess it's like abstract art. That being said, this is still a well-made video with good narrator.
The amount of times I've been on Facebook graffiti pages and commented saying that doesn't read this or read that, and then get bombarded by all i can describe as toys in the comments, saying "you don't know graffiti". "You can clearly see what it reads". NO, YOU CANNOT CLEARLY READ WHAT IT SAYS!! Simply down to disregarding the fundamentals for the sake of style. 😂
The piece at 3:19 makes little sense to me. I could see the "R" and "A", but the "S" especially seems very broken, I don't see how that's a visible "S". I'm no expert of course, I'm just having a hard time seeing how this follows the rules and some of the others don't.
lol i think if someone says they can ready ANY and all wild styles then they're full of it lol. we all struggle to read many wild styles just because of how many people use details to cover mistakes
my channel got hacked recently (thats why my name isn't the artist block) and youtube said that it might take some time for things to go back to normal so hopefully all the comments will be fine
@@Theartistblock daaamn 💀 yea i subconsciously read ur channel name but didnt rly notice that its the name of that ai bot 😂 yo gl tho, oh and, how did it get hacked? im asking so i can learn from ur mistake yk
Exposing wack graff lol.. Alot of these you would not be able to read unless you knew the artist or the tag.. And yeah basically yeah they are wack and on paper they are needing more work and final style..
It varies a lot why people like graffiti. Where I live, Glasgow, our graffiti culture is awesome. There are tonnes of great artists who all appreciate each other's work. As for the gibberish thing, I'd say it's part of the fun of understanding this whole art. You wouldn't be able to do much if you couldn't experiment. 👍
Lol this isn't a serious comment right? This has the same energy as an 11 year old who tags 3 stop signs in the suburbs and thinks the vandal squad is after him 😂
@@Coastalvibezz 15 years isn't crazy long certainly not short don't get me wrong but it's not long enough to act like it's weight you can throw around to lend credibility to your claim, especially when you say it to someone with more years than you. With that said, with 15 years in graffiti im dissapointed you dont see how silly your comment is because just 1 year in is enough time for anyone to know people normally put a tag, and crew next to their wild styles and any of that is normally easy enough to read to identify the individual. If 1 single writer did 10 wild styles, with tags next to it then that's more than enough for anyone, even a middle schooler to figure out what that person writes.
I unfortunately have to agree, I tend to just ignore wildstyle because there's no point in going all out if I can't read your tag. I'll try to learn as best I can, but I swear these all break the very fundamentals of writing. Legibility is more important than flair.

Great tutorial for learning how to read especially wild style , and why you can't depict some artists letter structure. Dope Grim.
