Yes! This game is made for patient people with an eye and love for attention to detail and simulation games. The amount of zen you get from it is beautiful. It's one of those games where you don't have anything to do or don't want to do anything. But you want to play games, just not competitive or Multiplayer games. Meaning you just want to play a chill/peaceful game to pass the time.

Sounds like they made exactly the game they expected to, but default settings should have been “difficult” settings and the 2 options for toggle should be off by default.

Genuinely thought you died if you didn't return to the base and that was awesome for adding pressure. That said, most ships for me take three shifts to get a >90% reclaimed. As a zen experience, this game is tip top for me at the moment... That initial planning, peeling the ship. The feeling of watching the ship slowly get separated to pull out engines, reactors etc is so satisfying.

My biggest issue is there's no actual cutting going on, you can't just decide to cut a octagon piece out of a square sheet. All that happens is there are pre-defined points of breaking, and if your laser hits it, it disappears, takes you out of the game and breaks the immersion. There's pieces and graphics that are designed to fool you into thinking you're cutting something but you aren't because even if your laser isn't lined up with the pre-defined cut line it will still cut perfectly straight instead if where you actually saw the laser hit.
That’s like asking if you can do anything but jump in Celeste, if you can do anything but drive in snow/mud runner or if you can do anything but build in FrostPunk. Yes, but there’s more to it than that. The multiplayer thing has always been a high demand request, but it is still great solo. Don’t play it if you don’t like slower games, that’s it. If you do, it’s amazing.

They could of had the worker sneaking parts away to covertly make a getaway ship to escape this workers dystopia. Now that would of been an interesting end goal.
That is literally one of the story points, at the end of the first (of three) story acts your immediate supervisor (not the middle manager), gives you his old ship from his days being a shipbreaker, that's what the whole ship doctor thing was about, not positive if you actually use it to escape though cause I'm only in act 2
Why do people always feel personally attacked when not everyone likes these repetitive "sim" games? Not everyone wants to play a game that you have to turn a podcast on in the background to enjoy.
