Explanation as to why I claim first place but don't appear atop the leader board, since a couple of people asked and to avoid having to copy paste the same message every time :) The #1 indicated on the board is not legitimate. I'd go into details as to why, but we have a semi-official policy among RACErs to just completely disregard cheaters and avoid discussing them in any way shape or form. If you're ever confused, at the end of the video, I click on the ten first people in RACE and I avoid clicking on any known cheaters.
They are ridiculously fast and efficient, consistently getting in to top the 3 on the Race leader boards. Always great fun watching them rip a ship up in literal record times.
Things i learned watching this video; 1. Atmosphere regulators and brakes are for chumps. 2. You can slash your laser cutter like a light saber. 3. Im not good at this game.
By far my favourite trick there is tied between tethering the cargo bins to themselves (by far my least favourite part of the larger ships) and clipping the air filters to make them release without atomising the frame. What a wonderful job; you clearly put a lot of practice into honing your techniques here!
Same!! The fact that clipping them in pairs causes the furniture to gently release without any waiting time at all, and I rewatched that filter trick several times to revel in the majesty of that one. So much faster and saves $
I usually do it in an order: depressurize, barge reactor, remove everything that's just attached to the ship, remove the plates on the outside of the ship, barge everything inside the ship, throw the rest in the furnace. that would take me like an hour or so in total lol
how do you barge the reactor so early on? Do you cut only that panel out of the hull? I usually cut all reachable cut parts inside the ship after depressurising, then after removing the panels/plates the reactor is easy to chuck into the barge.
Stupendous! I like Leek's precise, measured movement a lot, but nothing beats your decisive, bold flourishes. 2:50 YOLO. 5:51 props for using the diagonal backside cuts for nacelles, it's the best approach.
I watched this to get some tips on how to just be better at the normal game. That move where you use tethers on barge items to loosen them up and keep them together is awesome. The tether move where you go back and forth to connect stuff twice as fast is also great to know!
Small tip I noticed: when you have 2 airlocks face to face, you don't have to cut them out of their frames. Just separate them from the door panel on their own side by cutting the 2 horizontal beams and you can pull both airlocks out the middle then launch the door panels with the frames still attached.
The tank cage is always cut level 1, you don't actually need to use charges on it. Just melt the whole frame, you'll only take like 8k in damages which isn't even a pixel on the progress bar.
Most likely better than how i play it. I am the type who starts from the inside out making sure that the fuel lines are flushed, thrusters are released, all airlock doors are cut out, then make my way into the space between the chasis and the outer shell, detatch all the cutting points that hold the two together, including the cockpit. It may take long but a lot of the times I have moved large pieces, thirds to almost halves of ships to their coresponding salvage deposit ports. How I manage to do that is to use an object that is heavy but still light enough for you, the player, to move when you attach your beam and drag it just by using your thrusters. It is one of those satisfying moments seeing that your progress bar fills up significantly and not see a deduction for sending in the wrong material. I cannot say when I play it that it all goes perfect. There are times when I do play I have made so little mistakes to where there is a section of red in the progress bar that is probably a few pixels wide. Other times it is prominently seen.
"hey joe. lookit this fuckin guy. its 20 til end of shift n this bozo just pulled in another scrapper" "jim there aint no fucking way he gets that thing done by the end of this shift" "aw hell naw what the fuck"
It is a bit weird that the laser can diffract and hit other objects when firing as a simple beam, but when in the mode for meant cutting wide gouges, it always hits its target with perfect precision.
Thank you! I don't remember who came up with a cut on the filter to dislogde it at first, but I realized during Goph's stream last Sunday that cutting the corner would be less risky. He and I adopted that, I don't know if leek did because I haven't seen his latest run on this ship yet. Ah right, I made no mention of that! The #1 indicated on the board is not legitimate. I'd go into details as to why, but we have a semi-official policy among RACErs to just complitely disreguard cheaters and avoid discussing them in any way shape or form. I did not know that you could hold an item and then use the push away without having it in front of you... This would have made my life so much easier. Oh well, I just 100%ed this game today, so I probably won't play it again!
There's a few times around halfway through the video that you're aiming at a panel but the laser cuts the yellow beams. I smell something hinky going on
This game can get kinda disorienting. Im super impressed. I hope to get to a modest level of productivity but I wonder if your capable of getting out of debt???. This game needs a radio station as well!

You'd be right. Just like any top sport (at olympic level) is not really fun. (to do) Yet people get enjoyment from it... Go figure... Meanwhile, i will get my enjoyment from watching the chaos

Imagine vibing in control expecting another slow work day, then some guy just strips an entire Heavy Cargo ship in 17 mins
hey bud im hourly lol
being paid by the work vs being paid hourly
I’d honestly just be super impressed.
He’s not playing career mode tho lol

If I watched Usain Bolt I'd say I was bad at running too despite being average for regular humans.
4. Sometimes cutting corners is a good thing (and I wish I understood why).
dudes using that beam cutter near fuel tanks giving me anxiety attacks lol
It's like welding right next to a rocket fuel cylinder x10 danger
Also the reactor. Parts of me are clenching that I didn't even know existed.
Exactly what I was thinking 😂
Geez. I thought I was fast getting javelins done in two to three hauls. This is beautiful. Good work on first place!!
that first reactor extraction was a thing of beauty
this is what i hoped to find when i searched "hardspace speedrun"
control probably sitting watchin the helmet cam jaw on the floor as they witness a cutter gut and salvage a full cargo javelin in one shift
When you're on the clock but your lunch break is in 20 minutes:

hal would be proud... for this he would bump up a hazard for your team

: D
Like watching an artist at work
you're out there making Hal proud :D
Hey, why are you here?
Nah, he'll be like "do it twice as fast!"
Nah he's down in processor receiving, being like "w-Woah! TOO FAST!"
I remember armor plate abuses, players were able to cut it into billion pieces and every part counted as full plate, lol
You my friend have taught me more ship breaking in 17 min than my 300hrs. I play wayyyyyy too safe XD
Sooo... If you do that 28 times you could pay off your debt 🤔 (1'000'000,000/36'000,000 = 27.77 )
I watched this to get some tips on how to just be better at the normal game. That move where you use tethers on barge items to loosen them up and keep them together is awesome. The tether move where you go back and forth to connect stuff twice as fast is also great to know!
This game in VR would go pretty hard.
This is insane, I stick on ASMR and chill taking my time relaxing.
After enjoying this game in chill mode without timer, this is very impressive to see
Mesmerizing simply an artist at work.

This is the sickest gameplay I have ever seen. You are a legend
Pretty lucky on the antennas and tank cage that you didn't need to cut them with demo charges. That always slows me down
The tank cage is always cut level 1, you don't actually need to use charges on it. Just melt the whole frame, you'll only take like 8k in damages which isn't even a pixel on the progress bar.
Daymn Cutter... it would take me like five shifts to do this kind of ship and you tore through it in the space of one! 😳
Most likely better than how i play it. Im new to this game and this was just awesome to watch.
Working under Hal Rhodes be like
Good lord. Why do Mark IIs always explode on me when I lightly sneeze in their direction?
"hey joe. lookit this fuckin guy. its 20 til end of shift n this bozo just pulled in another scrapper"
"jim there aint no fucking way he gets that thing done by the end of this shift"
"aw hell naw what the fuck"
This is a masterclass
Well ain't you the good little lynx employee 😂😂
It is a bit weird that the laser can diffract and hit other objects when firing as a simple beam, but when in the mode for meant cutting wide gouges, it always hits its target with perfect precision.
10:11 ohh that's such a good trick
Congrats on first place!
Edit: I'm a bit confused after finishing the video, since it says #2 on ranking
Thank you! I don't remember who came up with a cut on the filter to dislogde it at first, but I realized during Goph's stream last Sunday that cutting the corner would be less risky. He and I adopted that, I don't know if leek did because I haven't seen his latest run on this ship yet.

@@Serilia Ohhh okay, good to know! Well congrats on first!
@Serilia that is some integrity that I greatly respect. This was an awesome video just goes to show how far one can really take shipbreaking
Yeah my jaw hit the floor when I saw that trick. Been playing a while now, always disintegrating the frame like a goof
I did not know that you could hold an item and then use the push away without having it in front of you... This would have made my life so much easier. Oh well, I just 100%ed this game today, so I probably won't play it again!
Astounding
When I was he started using the cutter near the giant fuel tank I started tweaking lol
So *this* is what's called a "rapid unplanned disassembly"?
employe of the month
Prior to the Video: I can get get a Jav scrapped in 3 shifts, so I'm pretty good.
Post video: MY LIFE IS A LIE!
Holy crap, that run
Ok I just need to ask, how th are people extracting the ecu without destroying that 10k+ coolant pipe?
Ah, so this is why the shift time is only 15 minutes.
someone really wants to get out of dept
Dude wtf. I am so fired.
Daaaaaang that fast
How McDonald's expects you to work for minimum wage
Why do your lamps glow?
impressive
the way they cut around the fuel tank stresses me out so much
There's a few times around halfway through the video that you're aiming at a panel but the laser cuts the yellow beams. I smell something hinky going on
Timestamp?
W O W
holy shit
Nice
This game can get kinda disorienting. Im super impressed. I hope to get to a modest level of productivity but I wonder if your capable of getting out of debt???. This game needs a radio station as well!
Just do that 27 more times and you're debt free.
first place? It says your ranking is #2

@@Serilia Good call, I only lose to cheaters too.
I spy second place...
Not if first place has an illegitimate score, like I explained in another comment ;)
this doesn't look fun :(
