That's actually a good tip too! But I discovered that you can replicate this by just clearing out the whole map, go back to Akademeia using a safe room or More's Cat, then instantly go back. All enemies would have respawned.
i grinded the demo till lvl 29 cause of this. got 63 of those hero leaf of life's just maxed merchant and it has drop rate buffs got about 72 fairy dust for no reason.
A tip not mentioned here is to save before appraising since most items when appraised will give you a random item from a list of items and how good the items are differ a lot. For instance while appraising the Rusted Longarm it can turn into a lot of different things from testing it could turn into Iron lance, Silver Lance, Cooling Staff, Iron Greatsword, Silver Claymore. Not sure if there are more but Silver Lance, Cooling Staff and Silver Claymore are all much better then the Iron Lance/Greatsword, the silver versions are a direct upgrade from Iron and the cooling staff is a great staff for mages that boosts ice dmg and each time you appraise the reward is random so you can abuse saving and loading to get the item you want from an appraisal.
For MP management, just put mage on the protagonist. It gives 1 MP per kill or stun on the overworld. when i was on the mines (the one for the dragon), I got to the dragon with almost full MP, and if you need more, just kill a bunch of low level enemies.
Does it go for other party members too? I know it works if they’re also mage but can they stay other archetypes while my MC bashes everything as mage and they regain MP?
@@Pikachu-qr4yb Can confirm it works for the whole party !! You can restore all your mp doing this and spend A LOT more time in dungeons without using expensive mp recover items, is a life saver
Another point about First Aid: use it in the menu over the auto recovery function. I found auto spent more MP then was often necessary, it would cast the other heal spells over FA even if the character would’ve been fully healed via FA. TLDR: Use auto only when you are very low on HP, use FA manually if not.
At 2:53 he says the Ignitors quest is optional, but i think its a great opportunity to gain alot of gold at the early stage of the game. Get your Wisdom to Lvl 2 by sitting on the bench on Sunlumeo Street. Go through the dungeon, make sure to buy quite a bit of healing potions. Clear the dungeon, the final fight against the Minotaur i used two Knights and one warrior. Spam the synthesis skill Thrust l, its a weak point, just use your warrior to spam healing potions and you'll win. It may take you a couple of tries, but you'll make it. You'll unlock the Merchant class for the Cathedral. Alot of enemies are low-level dogs and you can kill them over and over for alot of money. I think i walked out of the dungeon with over a 100 grand.
This is definitely doable but I found that the level disparity was just waay too much for my liking. It was a bit more painless for me to do the story dungeon THEN do the optional dungeon after. That's when I did the merchant farm. I tried not to overdo it too much though cuz I also wanted to not be too overleveled hahah
The only tip you really need to beat anything in one day is that you can infinity farm MP with mage equipped. Sure it might take some time but considering you can enter a load screen(safe room etc) and most easy enemies reset, you are able too with a bit of patience, restore all of your MP running around and killing enemies in the over world. Every enemy killed in the over world restore 1 mp to every party member. I'd rather save every piece of MP item for those few times you will struggle to cheese a dungeon. The 2nd tip is to pretty much inverse the persona mindset, go do as many quests as you can even if they take up time, buy the best gear possible and also work on your friendships if possible. Before i even entered the cathedral i exhausted everything remotely useful, even the quests, the reason for this is fairly simple until the very last bits of the game most side content will be below the level of the final dungeon(at least the final parts).

another tip i will point is to unlock the mage for the protagonist, the mage overworld passive give you mp when you kill enemies in the overworld which will massively help and MP issues(and lessen the need for items like the fruit cordial)
2 Mage/1 Seeker did the dragon for me. Both mages know Blizz for weakness and seeker can heal. Seeker can also use the ice item from the shop to cover if there’s no need to heal
The Seeker is a liability on hard mode since it's weak to fire, and AI seems to constantly target weaknesses. It's doable using one, but definitely not optimal

I did 2 Mage and a warrior, warrior used ice chunk or heal items, while mages spammed blizz. Attacking him 6 times a turn the first couple turns made it simple
@@Undertow207 The dragon actually has a fixed pattern (1 turn only physical, 1 turn only fire), so you can heal during phys turns and block during fire. Not optimal but I was running low on healing items and Magla so that strat saved my Hard mode Dragon clear.

The commander Lineage is totally worth to spend on, early game support skills, both magic and phys dmg skills, almigthy skill and the very last archetyp gives 2 passives that all the team would like to have, based what position the user is, increases phys or magic skills FOR THE WHOLE LINE, nthing says it doesnt stack, so based on team comp, is up to a 40 dmg boost.
Theres always something I learn that i miss no matter how small in atlus games. Im usually partway or close to the end of the 1st dungeon so i have absolutely no issues restarting the game.....which I will now do. Also helps that the first go around I mess with demons/personas/archetypes so i have a better idea of what to do.
My pro tip for new players: while in the mage archetype everytime you down an enemy without going into battle your whole party will restore 1 MP. You can restore your MP without ever needing to use and item
For every melee build I would recommend putting most all stats into luck and Agility Luck increases critical hit and critical rate along with item find and agility increases dodge rate which in this game is absolutely the difference between losing and winning.
One thing to note is whatever skills you unlock with archetypes can be used regardless of whatever job you have on while in the overworld. This means for example you can still heal even if you have no healers on your team.
Best way to level up your party and rank up your archetypes is going to the belega corridor and farming all monsters there. I did grind a bit there and it paid off. Now my party's all level 27 and almost all available archetypes i have, i already got them all to max rank. Its safe to say im ready for the full game release
Did the same exact thing and stopped at lvl 27. Leaves maybe 3 or 4 archetypes for whichever characters unmastered but after lvl 27 it felt like the exp returns weren't worth it but it also gave me enough currency to buy 2 phantasmal dolls and 2 patriach cloths.

Fairly minor but I see this mentioned everywhere. You can change archetype freely before doing more’s quest in the equipment menu. That just unlocks studying archetypes and moves
If you like trophies, prioritise debating with other candidates above all else. I found out that I locked out of this trophy at the end of game that I missed this trophy since month 7th. Also stock up blessed water early game because it's impossible to get those in late game, and super strong weapon purification still need those
but for tip 5 how do u raise archetype rank fast, granted I just started the game but I’m on hard mode its just slow asf or do I have to grind for hours I just dont get it

haha yup! the switch to healer isn't a painful one this time since the healer here um.... "heals" enemies till they die with hama. XD At least stick with it until Rank 10 when you can have the freedom to just switch archetypes and inherited skills on the fly.
Broooo I really wanted to fight the dragon, and assumed it'd wake up or come back later if you sneaked around it. This is so dumb cause the game was making it clear you need to sneak past it. I assumed you'd just get instakilled and reset if it wakes up or something.
Oh man, I didn't even consider fighting that dragon in the cave during my run of the demo. Since I plan on carrying over my data, I wonder if I can go back and fight it before completing the necromancer.
@@EmperorOfMan honestly I did have that thought, but the catharsis of finguring out little solutions like this was very very gratifying I also got really good at overworld combat, you can completely save MP by just refusing to Squad and just continuously knocking enemies around
@@UnGeekPH especially since most the skeleton things are weak to brawlers attack, the multi hit team attack with two brawlers and increased crit ratio completely folded the prologue final boss
To get through the dungeon in one day cause I ran out of MP about half way through. I used the mage class and the infinite respawn crystal and I farmed them to get my crew up the full amount of map and levels. I was level 15 or 16 by the end of the first dungeon.
I messed up and took on the side dungeon at level 11, grinded my way to lvl 19 in the same dungeon 😂 I maxed out warrior, knight & mage. It took forever having to get going back & forth dimensions to reset the enemies. Having to switch back & forth to mage to regain MP.
The information broker starts off right outside the inn and is marked with like a sheet of paper icon. Afterwards, you'll be able to find him inside the inn.
learn mage, when you get to a level where you can one shot monsters without going in to a battle it will give you SP back, grind on the monsters the cyrstals spawn in the necromancer dungeon and have full SP :)

For me, I went with balanced STR and MAG with mag ahead by 3-4 points. This allows me the flexibility to switch him to either magic or physical attacks. Since your initial party mates are Physical types, I mostly put my protag on mage duty so Seeker, Mage, and Healer initially
I just assumed the dragon was like this game’s Territorial Rogbart, just something to scare you with early on that you’d come back to deal with in late game. Oof.
Oh man. I was stoked to get this game but I didn’t know it had a calendar system. That’s the biggest negative to the persona games. It stresses me out having to manage time/etc. I like to take my time and complete everything.
My first time with a Persona like game and its slaping me around rn. Im about to go to an old save, i jumped into the timed dungeon without doing anything else and its been beating me up. Im already on day 3 and now im struggling with the boss because ive used up mp way too much.
If that's the case, I recommend just taking it easy and doing a few grind sessions with the lower mobs until you can outlevel them. Going to akademia and then going back to the dungeon actually respawns the mobs.
Dang, i skipped on Fighting the Dragon on that 1st dungeon, can you ever go back to that dungeon again to fight the dragon? Or if you skipped it you missed out? Fist time playing this type of game & thought we simply just had to sneak by him since its just the first dungeon & i thought maybe he was just way yo strong or high level to fight so early in the game. :(
Ahh yeah, I don't think so. The demo is pretty much just an early access to the first few chapters so it'll carry on from there. But if you did miss the dragon and you're pretty far in (especially like AFTER the first dungeon), then honestly, I wouldn't sweat it. You'll find stronger weapons soon enough :)
This game's a really good one to enter the ATLUS rpgs. haha So Calendar system just means that you have a deadline to clear a specific dungeon or to do certain quests or its game over. TLDR, in a day, you can usually do only 2 things - 1 during the day, 1 during the night and these can range from doing side quests, raising a bond with one of your followers, or raising one of your stats. Dungeons are basically things you can enter and return to over multiple days but you wanna do them in as short a time as possible because, each day you're in the dungeon is a day you could have used for other activities. If that's too much of an explanation, the game by itself does a good job of explaining the system. Hope you enjoy your first ATLUS RPG!
I assume it's the case but just to make sure, is it like Persona in that if you beat your goal before the deadline, you'll get the remaining time until the deadline as freetime to do whatever you want? So if I beat the dungeon in 2 days, I'll still have 8 days to faff about instead of the plot pushing forward immediately after?
Yup. Looking through the comments, a lot of people went with the 2 mage / 1 warrior set-up. In my set-up, I just couldnt cuz I started the protag's mage way too late.
Honestly, not really. It's just really for people who want that satisfying balance of difficulty while playing. I'm a bit of a completionist so when I play on Normal difficulty, I usually start getting too overpowered really early and combat becomes a bit dull. So Hard (especially on ATLUS games) kinda hits that nice balance.
Save Rooms (called Magla Hollows in game) and the little Phantom cat save points let you return to the entrance, but you can also use Ariadne's Thread from your item menu, which also let's you leave the dungeon. I think Gallica gives you one in the first dungeon, and then you either get more from enemy drops or from some merchants
@@mmosm actually I did, and I got so frustrated in the FIRST dungeon that I took a break and still haven't gone back to it yet lol It was the first boss where you have Yosuke and Chie in the party together. I just kept getting SMOKED
Go for it! That's what's great Noone to judge you. Make it easy or harder. More games like souls need this. And I would buy it more. Getting good is one thing having fun is another. Options is the changer for sure! I played metaphor on normal after 15 hours got tired of alot of back tracking and starting missions again. I went story mode and have enjoyed it more! I learned for this game relaxing is for me!
If it helps in any way, the dragon reward is really only for the 1st dungeon or so. You'll soon outclass it afterwards and skipping the dragon won't matter as much :)
Bro said he did the first dungeon in 2 days. How!?😭😭 I’m like 4 days deep on Hard mode on the boss and I’m still 5 levels underleveled (I’m 15, he’s 20 I think)
My general rule with dungeons is that I have to kill everything at least once. So I rarely skip mobs and, at times, I do some light farming but not too much. So Day 1 iirc, I got as high as the floor right before the "painting event" (iykyk XD) where I was pretty much out of MP and I just didnt feel like grinding too much with the Mage MP recovery. Day 2 was all the rest. Aside from that, generally I try not to use too much MP to really extend my runs. Hope that helps!
I kinda don’t like how you have to constantly change archetypes to get good skills/abilities. For example, using the mage class just to be able to get mp back in dungeons. I would much rather have party members introduced that have set roles, and you can swap out whenever and that’s it. The archetype system is meh.
It was tough, ngl. But to be fair, its usually just a sacrifice I do for the first dungeon so as to not lose time. However, that's really just a min max thing. It's absolutely valid for people to spend longer, more comfortable runs in the dungeon :)
yup, you can. There's even an item called Ariadne's thread that warps you to the entrance. Just like Persona, dungeons can be tackled in multiple days.
Dragon seems 100% impossible when you first encounter it on Hard difficulty. It literally takes away half of the health of a Warrior in a single hit. Also, this keeps getting parroted, but you don't have to do the Healer 10 quest to unlock the ability to change Archtypes from the main menu. I don't know the exact trigger but I got it after beating Zorba and switching Hulk from a Knight to a Brawler. Seems like you only have to switch one of your companions out of their default archetypes at some point. Or it's just given to you for free after beating Zorba. I never leveled up the Healer at all. But now that I know it actually unlocks another customization slot...I probably should. 😄 I like your advice on how to "cheat" with rewind too. I've actually been doing that on my own to check weaknesses and to fish for crits. 😂
I promise you, Dragon is 100% doable on hard :) But it IS quite daunting. Timely guards can help and if its super impossible, you may have to farm a bit from the earlier mine mobs. So here's the thing about the ability to change archetypes without Healer 10 -> you can via the EQUIP tab but this doesnt allow you to change much of anything else. So Inherited skills will be the one most affected with this as its a huge convenience. Hahaha Glad you liked the REWIND tip. It's not even as game breaking as some may say but it definitely helps you get a proper start to a fight. :)
Tbf, even with those "abuses", that really only gives you a good start with your opening turn. The game does a great enough job to punish you if you're really not ready.

I think passive Hero skills won't move/inherite to another Archetype.

I leveled up the main and Grius to be mages and the ice lets you get so many extra turns in, youll melt the optional boss

Best way to level up your party and rank up your archetypes is going to the belega corridor and farming all monsters there. I did grind a bit there and it paid off. Now my party's all level 27 and almost all available archetypes i have, i already got them all to max rank. Its safe to say im ready for the full game release
Any specific farming tips for that dungeon i made it to level 20 & max archetype 😂 im burned out now
Did the same exact thing and stopped at lvl 27. Leaves maybe 3 or 4 archetypes for whichever characters unmastered but after lvl 27 it felt like the exp returns weren't worth it but it also gave me enough currency to buy 2 phantasmal dolls and 2 patriach cloths.
Why would you trivilave the game with that grind? Just play on easy if you want to steamroll everything lol

Idk what "Trivilave" is but you should figure out why someone grinding in a solo game, let alone a JRPG for that matter (which historically has been a grinding style game), bugs you enough that you felt the need to make a negative comment. Fairly minor but I see this mentioned everywhere. You can change archetype freely before doing more’s quest in the equipment menu. That just unlocks studying archetypes and moves
game comes out tomorrow so I’m excited to learn at least a couple things before playing.
If you like trophies, prioritise debating with other candidates above all else. I found out that I locked out of this trophy at the end of game that I missed this trophy since month 7th. Also stock up blessed water early game because it's impossible to get those in late game, and super strong weapon purification still need those

haha yup! the switch to healer isn't a painful one this time since the healer here um.... "heals" enemies till they die with hama. XD
At least stick with it until Rank 10 when you can have the freedom to just switch archetypes and inherited skills on the fly.
Broooo I really wanted to fight the dragon, and assumed it'd wake up or come back later if you sneaked around it. This is so dumb cause the game was making it clear you need to sneak past it. I assumed you'd just get instakilled and reset if it wakes up or something.
First main mission dungeon has 2 crystals that infinite spawn enemies. Use merchant arch and make billions super fast.
Oh man, I didn't even consider fighting that dragon in the cave during my run of the demo. Since I plan on carrying over my data, I wonder if I can go back and fight it before completing the necromancer.

i played on hard, used healer in outside combat to regan health to full and put brawler on all my party, mp became a none issue

I also got really good at overworld combat, you can completely save MP by just refusing to Squad and just continuously knocking enemies around
@@UnGeekPH especially since most the skeleton things are weak to brawlers attack, the multi hit team attack with two brawlers and increased crit ratio completely folded the prologue final boss

To get through the dungeon in one day cause I ran out of MP about half way through. I used the mage class and the infinite respawn crystal and I farmed them to get my crew up the full amount of map and levels. I was level 15 or 16 by the end of the first dungeon.
For dragon. Seeker warrior mage. Mage does ice every turn warrior does skill or guard seeker either heal or guard. Ez ez fight
I messed up and took on the side dungeon at level 11, grinded my way to lvl 19 in the same dungeon 😂
I maxed out warrior, knight & mage. It took forever having to get going back & forth dimensions to reset the enemies. Having to switch back & forth to mage to regain MP.

How do I unlock the information broker? I enter the tavern in both day and night time and he's never there
The information broker starts off right outside the inn and is marked with like a sheet of paper icon. Afterwards, you'll be able to find him inside the inn.
learn mage, when you get to a level where you can one shot monsters without going in to a battle it will give you SP back, grind on the monsters the cyrstals spawn in the necromancer dungeon and have full SP :)

For me, I went with balanced STR and MAG with mag ahead by 3-4 points. This allows me the flexibility to switch him to either magic or physical attacks. Since your initial party mates are Physical types, I mostly put my protag on mage duty so Seeker, Mage, and Healer initially
I just assumed the dragon was like this game’s Territorial Rogbart, just something to scare you with early on that you’d come back to deal with in late game. Oof.

Oh man. I was stoked to get this game but I didn’t know it had a calendar system. That’s the biggest negative to the persona games. It stresses me out having to manage time/etc. I like to take my time and complete everything.
My first time with a Persona like game and its slaping me around rn. Im about to go to an old save, i jumped into the timed dungeon without doing anything else and its been beating me up. Im already on day 3 and now im struggling with the boss because ive used up mp way too much.
If that's the case, I recommend just taking it easy and doing a few grind sessions with the lower mobs until you can outlevel them. Going to akademia and then going back to the dungeon actually respawns the mobs.

Dang, i skipped on Fighting the Dragon on that 1st dungeon, can you ever go back to that dungeon again to fight the dragon? Or if you skipped it you missed out? Fist time playing this type of game & thought we simply just had to sneak by him since its just the first dungeon & i thought maybe he was just way yo strong or high level to fight so early in the game. :(

Ahh yeah, I don't think so. The demo is pretty much just an early access to the first few chapters so it'll carry on from there.
But if you did miss the dragon and you're pretty far in (especially like AFTER the first dungeon), then honestly, I wouldn't sweat it. You'll find stronger weapons soon enough :)
First Atlus game and I have no idea how the calendar system works.
This game's a really good one to enter the ATLUS rpgs. haha So Calendar system just means that you have a deadline to clear a specific dungeon or to do certain quests or its game over.
TLDR, in a day, you can usually do only 2 things - 1 during the day, 1 during the night and these can range from doing side quests, raising a bond with one of your followers, or raising one of your stats. Dungeons are basically things you can enter and return to over multiple days but you wanna do them in as short a time as possible because, each day you're in the dungeon is a day you could have used for other activities.
If that's too much of an explanation, the game by itself does a good job of explaining the system. Hope you enjoy your first ATLUS RPG!
I assume it's the case but just to make sure, is it like Persona in that if you beat your goal before the deadline, you'll get the remaining time until the deadline as freetime to do whatever you want? So if I beat the dungeon in 2 days, I'll still have 8 days to faff about instead of the plot pushing forward immediately after?
Yup! If you beat dungeons early, you can use the remaining time however you want. The story progresses after the main quest deadline expires :)

two mages vs the dragon made it easier for me and the five ice chunks. Got to start the mages early to get the ice spell though
Yup. Looking through the comments, a lot of people went with the 2 mage / 1 warrior set-up. In my set-up, I just couldnt cuz I started the protag's mage way too late.
2:59 so that’s why the boss was damn near one shooting me lol I started the dungeon before going into the 1st dungeon

Honestly, not really. It's just really for people who want that satisfying balance of difficulty while playing.
I'm a bit of a completionist so when I play on Normal difficulty, I usually start getting too overpowered really early and combat becomes a bit dull. So Hard (especially on ATLUS games) kinda hits that nice balance.

At the entrance, save rooms or the save cat.
You can buy an item (can't remember the name) which teleports you to the entrance as well for doing this.
Save Rooms (called Magla Hollows in game) and the little Phantom cat save points let you return to the entrance, but you can also use Ariadne's Thread from your item menu, which also let's you leave the dungeon. I think Gallica gives you one in the first dungeon, and then you either get more from enemy drops or from some merchants

Go for it! That's what's great Noone to judge you. Make it easy or harder. More games like souls need this. And I would buy it more. Getting good is one thing having fun is another. Options is the changer for sure! I played metaphor on normal after 15 hours got tired of alot of back tracking and starting missions again. I went story mode and have enjoyed it more! I learned for this game relaxing is for me!

If it helps in any way, the dragon reward is really only for the 1st dungeon or so. You'll soon outclass it afterwards and skipping the dragon won't matter as much :)
Bro said he did the first dungeon in 2 days. How!?😭😭 I’m like 4 days deep on Hard mode on the boss and I’m still 5 levels underleveled (I’m 15, he’s 20 I think)
My general rule with dungeons is that I have to kill everything at least once. So I rarely skip mobs and, at times, I do some light farming but not too much.
So Day 1 iirc, I got as high as the floor right before the "painting event" (iykyk XD) where I was pretty much out of MP and I just didnt feel like grinding too much with the Mage MP recovery.
Day 2 was all the rest.
Aside from that, generally I try not to use too much MP to really extend my runs.

I would much rather have party members introduced that have set roles, and you can swap out whenever and that’s it. The archetype system is meh.

It was tough, ngl. But to be fair, its usually just a sacrifice I do for the first dungeon so as to not lose time.
However, that's really just a min max thing. It's absolutely valid for people to spend longer, more comfortable runs in the dungeon :)

The music in Metaphor just goes so hard
Dragon seems 100% impossible when you first encounter it on Hard difficulty. It literally takes away half of the health of a Warrior in a single hit.
Also, this keeps getting parroted, but you don't have to do the Healer 10 quest to unlock the ability to change Archtypes from the main menu.
I don't know the exact trigger but I got it after beating Zorba and switching Hulk from a Knight to a Brawler. Seems like you only have to switch one of your companions out of their default archetypes at some point. Or it's just given to you for free after beating Zorba. I never leveled up the Healer at all.
But now that I know it actually unlocks another customization slot...I probably should. 😄
I like your advice on how to "cheat" with rewind too. I've actually been doing that on my own to check weaknesses and to fish for crits. 😂
I promise you, Dragon is 100% doable on hard :) But it IS quite daunting. Timely guards can help and if its super impossible, you may have to farm a bit from the earlier mine mobs.
So here's the thing about the ability to change archetypes without Healer 10 -> you can via the EQUIP tab but this doesnt allow you to change much of anything else. So Inherited skills will be the one most affected with this as its a huge convenience.

Tbf, even with those "abuses", that really only gives you a good start with your opening turn. The game does a great enough job to punish you if you're really not ready.
