- These are my 2 favorite "adventure" watches. The Rangeman is probably built a little tougher as the resin case will absorb hits better, but 3510 is also no slouch. They are very similar and struggle picking which to wear.

I recommend always feel both if possible BUT in this case, Im totally agreed with your review! I know Rangeman and mudmaster are super popular but people need to understand PROTREK always feels more premium.
Funny enough, I’ve been trying to decide between these two for the past few days. I was leaning towards at the protrek at first, however, the rugged look of the rangeman is really starting to grow on me. Thanks for the comparison!
The Rangeman is a true classic. I've never owned one, but I'd like to trial this model. Gshock seem to focus on the Mudmaster line for ABC models - I think the Rangeman looks less flashy & conservative.
100% agree. I dont really like the analog, I think digital is just more robust and practical. I think rangeman looks more like a tool watch where mudmaster tries to be flashy and if I want flash I'm not reaching for a casio. Having said that I still want a mudmaster haha but can't stomach the $$.
Not really. There are other ABC models much sophisticated than the mudmaster such as the GPR-B1000 Rangeman and the GWN-Q1000 Gulfmaster.
I own the same protrek and sometimes I consider the Rangeman… thanks for helping me to save money!

I have the same Pro Trek and had the all black rangeman. I sold the rangeman because it became too frustrating to see the numbers on the screen. The negative display isn’t too good compared to the pro trek where the negative display is awesome! I like the rangeman showed here but I don’t think I need it, the pro trek does it all for me with the ABC features and I like the look more. Awesome review!
I’m slimming down my collection and my Rangeman isn’t going anywhere, it’s my most worn watch by far. Adding the prw-30 Elnest to compliment it, hopefully my pairing looks as good next to each other as yours do
The PRW-30 is the Rangeman in a different envelope. Great choice by the way.
@@yarpenzigrin1893 thank you, it’s been on wrist for the last 7 months and almost never comes off. Exactly right, it’s a slim Rangeman that is easier to wear daily.
I went to Casio Shop to buy Rangeman but fell in love with Protrek. Damn so Light & luks so good & display is so easy to check.
But ended up buying a Rangeman.
Now Rangeman prices have increased so high but got it for the Old price itself. LUCKY ME.
But yes it's tough to judge between both.

Hello everybody I need a piece of advice, I am thinking of buying a GShock Rangeman, I like the 200 m water resistance and I also like the G-Shock resistance of course, however I still a little bit doubtful about the display of the watch. I like the portrait version because it has a more clear display which is bigger but the protractor doesn't resist that much to the water only 100 m and also doesn't have a g shocj resistance. Believe it or not despite watching the video it only made me hesitate even more 😂
They are both 200m WR. In terms are durability, after taking them both apart I would also rate them the same. If you want to go step above check out the Frogman.
So protrek has the same durability and thoughness of GShock?
@@alejandrogramajoc Yes - they are both plastic modules in inside with resin shroud. Nothing really different from build materials that would make one better then other. Frogman is built like a tank, its probably most durable gshock that I have seen at least.

Update here 😬😁 so I decided to purchase the Rangeman, and what a piece of Watch it is!! I love it. I had a casio sgw100 already that's why I decided better to have a Rangeman. I know i know, sgw100 is no protrek, but is almost one . Thank again for the advices
Thanks for the review. I have the same Rangeman and wearing it now. Sadly the triple sensor stopped working, only the compass kind of works, bit not the other two, not sure if I can get the sensor replaced? Everything else works well. I am seriously considering getting that exact same Pro Trek, so your video is very helpful. I'll probably go ahead and get the Pro Trek and give the Rangeman to my son as I can get it at a very good discount. Your video confirmed what I thought, that these have the exact same features in a different form. Only thing the Pro Trek doesn't have is "G-Shock" on it, so it is cheaper! I agree the Pro Trek looks a bit cooler.
Have you tried hard reset? Open battery and touch the 2 contacts? If that doesn't work take sensor out make sure it's not just dirty. The whole ghock is just marketing IMO I have taken these apart many times no difference in build quality that makes it stronger. Only exception is the frogman, it's built like tank.

No didn't work. After getting to the battery area, the power faded from the display, then put it back together and it was dead. Oh well, guess I'll need to buy that Pro Trek after all.
@@adsagp If you touched the contacts it should reset watch to 1200am thats how you know it worked. Shine a light on it too to maybe wake it up if not coming back on. If still dead then maybe battery?
@Rando it is still dead. I may have shorter it. I think it is toast now as the battery was working fine before I took it apart. May see if I can get a new movement and Tripple Sensor for it. Nevermind, I need to get another watch. Maybe a Pro Trek 340-1 or a G-Shock G-5600UE-1.

rangeman's strap just way more comfortable, protrek's straps is too stiff, the distance between the holes is too far, and the end of the strap is too long (I use a seal o-ring so the ends don't stick out) ... I Buy the pro trek for the coolness factor, and wearing rangeman for my heavy duty day....

Oh man thats tough! I can't chose, which I chose tomorrow I will change my mind but just shooting form the hip I would take rangeman.

I found the display easier to read on protrek. I recommend the new prw 30 which has clearer STN display, it also has larger digits so easier to read and is much smaller and lighter so it is more comfortable to wear.
Rangeman is lighty better for toughness
@@luistovar2578 in reality you don't need to be super tough, just reasonably tough will be enough. I have 2 g Shocks and 1 protrek but I always wear protrek because it is significantly lighter and slimmer so much more comfortable

What model is most complete in features
They are pretty much identical. Both are 3 sensor watches ABC. If you want a step up from both of these look at GWN-Q1000 its a 4 Sensor watch ABCD.
@@RandoRaf tbh the depth meter is never used by anyone. How often do you dive..but the step counter as a fourth sensor is much more useful letting you know how much you have walked. So I suggest GBD H1000 as the most complete watch in functions
@@ZhangJingxi I guess depends what you are looking for. If fitness watch then I would say go garmin instinct. But if more outdoor watch then the ABC watches are hard to beat. My problem witt GBDH1000 is that its bad outdoor watch (poor battery life) compared to protreks and rangeman. Its also not a good fitness watch when compared to brands like garmin, coros, amazfit.
@@RandoRaf the battery life is actually good. If you don't use the GPS very often. It has a very complete feature set: G Shock level of protection, ABC like protrek, the GPS and Bluetooth for phone notifications, a whole set of fitness and training function and step/heart rate monitor. it is like jack of all trade but master of none. Garmins don't have the robustness of G Shock, regular G Shocks don't have the fitness features.

If they’re both on atomic time, why aren’t they the same time?
If you dont wear it for awhile it goes in battery save mode and basically shuts down until it see light again will turn on and sync next chance.

PROTEK 2500 is way better
I´ve owned the Rangeman several times, same and different colors. The ProTrek looks much better.
