2 years ago i said i only need one gshock in my life and im done. After 2 year of collecting, now im selling gshock to make a living so i can have an excuse to buy more. 😂

I love G Shock. I was in the Coast Guard and it was nice to wear one watch that worked in Hawaiian summers and Alaskan winters. It survived engine rm fires and scuba diving activity on liberty. At night, when i woke up with all lights off, it was nice to check the time and see how much more sleep i could get before next watch. It looked good in uniform, PT gear or in casual R an R gear. One watch for one exciting life. Hey, i accidently did a commercial. Lol. Seriously i stand by this watch. It really did take care of me. as i traveled and served.
I got my first G-Shock in 2003 when on the USCGC Walnut in Hawaii. Got another one at some point, but the first one I got still runs today. I’ve replaced the battery in it 1-2 times. Only issue is the gasket on the backplate. You have to have it just right in order to maintain water resistance.
@@lancermaza6726 only 2 years younger than me. I just bought the newer version of it because at this point that Gshock is an antique. 32 years old heck howmany people have a watch at all let alone one that is almost 4 decades old?
@@JosephDawson1986 Hell yeah, worth every penny. Tough as nail, straight to the point watch. I have a dw 5600 ms and a ga 900.. haven’t let me down yet.
I've had my gwg-1000 for 2 years now I wear it every day . I work on 2 farms 6 days a week. This watch has me very impressed with it's durability. dirt, mud, grease, oil, diesel, gasoline, pesticides, lots of sweat, and temperatures from -10 to 110 it still works with out a hesitation. I would highly recommend this watch if you are a farmer like my self.
Atomic is not a gimmick, it syncs everyday for me. The most important point from the atomic feature for me is that i never have to adjust the time for summer/winter time. This together with solar makes it that you never have to set the watch ever again. Set it up when you buy it and you are good to go for life.
I agree. Never having to change battery and never having to set time is so chill that I often pick a gshock over one of my nicer watches. Saying atomic is a gimmick is like saying automatic watches are a gimmick because they are more expensive compared to manual watches. Get an atomic and you'll love it.
I agree, just got my first G with atomic. syncs every night, no problem, on my nightstand, on my wrist. I have automatics and now I can use the G to set them when I take them out.
A very entertaining video (I was laughing at your display of G-Shock addiction). I don't have a G-Shock, but I do have a Casio A168 which I've been very pleased with. The main reasons I haven't considered a G-Shock is that I've found that any watch band other than metal to be uncomfortable to wear, and I don't need a watch that is as tough or has the massive number of features as a G-Shock.
Bro - I am currently in the “buying too many gshocks” phase. It kinda hurts because I love them all so much I don’t know which one to wear. I know I’m privileged to say that
Bro I feel this same way , I currently ordered 2 more and I have 4 of them so far 😫 , I'm looking to buy 2 more after them come lolz I love them so much ❤️
@@shaquilleborneo1950 haha stay strong brother! What ended up happening is I settled on 2-3 that are now in my general rotation. Eventually you settle and start looking at other brands - but this gshock phase is super fun
@@thetimeteller hmm what about multi band or atomic time keeping? Your watch is sending signals and if somebody wanted to they could find you... I’m no expert but that’s what I think could happen :)
Excellent. The atomic watchkeeping might depend on your range from the transmitter. Here in the UK, you're always within range but in the wilds of other countries, it might be a problem. The watch DOES tell you if it doesn't receive a signal. With or without atomic function, you cant beat a G Shock.
I am a major Casio watch fanboy, I have a variety of G-Shock variants from Oceanus, Edifice, Protrek, Pathfinder, Master of G, MTG, and Mudmaster every one of my Casios are both solar powered AND atomic, I've never had to change a watch battery nor have I had to set the time on them. They are all accurate to one another to the second. My perspective, solar atomic is worth it!
Own 38 G Shocks and now waiting for the 39th and... if I may: 1. They don't irritate your skin, not more than any other much more expensive brands. 2. They are stylish AF 😎 if you match them properly, been to exclusive parties where people asked me about the watch I'm wearing (full metal golden square) 3. Atomic time keeping works flawlessly for people who travel, changed 8 countries in 1 year and never had to set my time so... not a gimmick, not to some. 4. G Shocks offer the best price/quality in watch industry, if you want/need cheaper buy regular Casio or other brands but... you'll see what I mean, they worth every penny. 5. Apple watch is for people who can't live without the simplicity of Apple, I have one and... it's crazy, charge it, doesn't help much... rather buy a new phone, easier... add some money and you have your dream phone. 6. Suunto is good but won't stand what a G Shock does, also they don't age as good. Nice points 👏 subscribed!
I have been collecting watches a long time, and I almost never run into watch guys that look down on G-Shocks. If anything,it's about the only sub-$1000 watch a lot of them will give respect to.
The G shock watch is a must if you have an active outdoor job. I was in the UK army for 23 years and had 2 of the first kind, they survived every type of abuse imaginable. I had to replace my first one because I lost it in Bosnia. I still wear one today with pride, an immense brand! 👍
In this tropical climate, I get rashes from any other watch but the resin band. Not to mention none of the other watches last more than a year and they have to get repaired all the time.
Here is a big thing about Apple Watch. YOU HAVE TO CHARGE THE DAMN THING. I wear my watch to bed and I don’t like to take off my watch. I have a GShock as well. Wore it for 8 years.
The last point is really the most important one. When you buy a G-Shock you'll definitely want more and more (their variants, collabs, types, etc.). But if you're willing to get you first one I would definitely go with the DW5600.
No, I am not going to want more and more. I want a watch that works, no matter what. I don't even use the features on my low-end G-Shock, and don't want to.
After wearing a G shock Rangeman for a couple of years, I got an Apple Watch as a present and broke it on the first adventure I went to haha 😂 and my Rangeman still going 👍
I recently got a GW 9400 as my everyday watch after the battery and OS on my Galaxy Gear S3 just died a slow and painful death... I liked the thing, but the Rangeman is just something else...
Broke 3 G-Shocks in the military. During that time I never had a single issue with my other rotation of watches which were all non-digital. Also broke a Suunto Vector. All of this taught me a very valuable lesson avoid digital. You know what you never see someone walking around with a 1980s G-Shock on their wrist that's original. Every G-Shock out there that's more than 5 years old has had some component replaced on it excluding batteries that's just going to happen. I've got watches from the '70s that have had nothing replaced on them nor have I ever had to do anything to them. There of course automatics but that's my point, avoid digital because they simply are not designed to last. Now if you're just wearing them as a fashion item I guess that's okay, but I've always had a very strict adherence that digital watches are for children or athletes. Digital watches on a child make total sense because they're so lightweight for an athlete the digital factor makes sense because it's easier to keep track of seconds when training. You taking individual and you put them in the exact same clothes and put a Casio G-Shock on their wrist and it has a certain look you turn around you put a Rolex submariner or an Omega seamaster professional on their wrist in the same outfit now they totally look different and it just adds a little bit more to the overall look of them, they look more grown up. Smart watches aren't smart because it makes no sense you have a cell phone so if you get a text message your cell phone's going to vibrate in your pocket and you know you got a text message. With the way modern earbuds have gone you can keep one earbud in and when you get a phone call it can alert you right in the earbud and you can take the phone call straight from your earbud. The smartwatch serve no function other than being redundant. This isn't a rant this is just me pointing out the obvious.

I’ve wore a G-Shock for 10 months , hardly ever taken it off. I’m a dairy farmer. Manure, grease, water, impact. I’ve swam with it, fixed equipment , trimmed hooves. It’s like armour. Gave my dad one. Typically his watches last a month. These watches wear tough. It was a good investment. Going to start looking for my next one, one that doesn’t smell like manure and diesel
Consider the steel ones! They may end up scratched up pretty bad in that kind of job, but as it’s not resin it should be better if solvents end up seeping into the plastic.
I've been wearing g shock since 9th grade. I'm 45 now. Ive had numerous models and their durability is unmatched but as I've gotten older, it seems like I need a more mature watch. Two years ago, I purchased the re-issue of the Seiko Arnie. It's tough, functional and it looks badass. I still wear a dw5600e to work every day and that will never change.
Never understood the addiction to G shocks until I bought one. It almost becomes a part of your body. Need to remember when was the last time I took it off. Heat, cold, rain, showers, beaches, swimming, sports, office and countless other situations. You don't feel more comfortable in any other watch.
I've never had a Multi Band 6 Casio watch that doesn't work all the time. This feature/function has never failed on me. It should be said that I haven't used watches like these for more than a decade or so, but still. This feature has been incredibly reliable. Having the watch always showing the exact time without me having to ever thinking about it sure is a convenient and highly sought after feature in a watch.
Thanks for your wonderful video. I have 4 G-Shocks, 2 Protreks, and 2 Edifices, but the latest one I bought is the g-shock mtg-b2000. The criteria for choosing a watch after turning 50 should not be a urethane strap (there was a trauma that caused it to break because it broke and had to buy it twice as expensively as it got old) and it should be a solar cell. If you open the battery a few times to insert the battery, it is easy to have a problem with waterproofing, and if the body is made of plastic, it peels off and grinds over time, so I buy a product made of metal or carbon... That is the conclusion I learned while buying a watch for about 20 years. The phone and Bluetooth function automatically set the time, which is great. And if possible, buy a G-Shock. Since it hasn't broken yet...
I'm a welder for the past 30 years and Casio watches, not only the G shock range, are the only watches that I have found last through the rough and tumble of my job. They just seem to be all built very well.
I live in Alaska and fly medevac I used to love my Apple Watch, until I forgot to charge it. It’s useless! Plus when it’s -50 or -60 the Apple watch battery will not allow the watch to work
Despite having a varied and extensive watch collection, the one watch I wear most often, is the solar version of the DW5600 - the G5600E. A rugged, no nonsense watch of excellent value.
Kes FitzGerald Tnx for posting. Saved me the trouble of scouring the net for Casio products. Looking for a basic g-shock with solar. Will add a nato strap adapter and make it my new beater. Cheers!!
Im construction worker. Working a lot with Jiggers and Jack hammers. I have Casio W800H. Let me tell you,its not labeled as G Shock but it shoud. I have it for the last 7 years, alarm wakes me up every morning, never changed the battery, use backlight several times a night, indured all kinds of impacts... And i bought it for just 25 €. Opened it and scratched that jumper so now i have timer and split stopwatch. King Casio watch!
I am totally agree with the last point on the list! I got my first G-shock which is a GD-100 back in 2018 and I talked to myself "well, this is enough as most G-shock will last more than a few years, okay I am done". But just recently when I saw a used "The King" GX-56BB with good deal on sale, I ended up getting that one lol. And now, that GA2000 looks very cool too....
The radio control time keep on my G-Shock (GW-3000) works perfectly well. I've never had to manually adjust the time or date the six years I've owned it, even for DST/GMT and is always bang on to the second!
Had that same exact Mudmaster. Rediculously huge. Sold it. My DW5600 is my daily grab-and-go watch. Perfect size, love the look of the display and I never have to worry about bumping it against anything. And yeah, probably had it for 10 years and have yet to change the battery. The size of G-Shock models prohibit me from building a G-Shock collection but I do love all the models. I've been lucky enough to own IWC, Breitling, Glashutte, Tag, Longines but tough times forced me to liquidate most of my collection but they'll take my DW5600 from me when they pry it off my cold, dead wrist.
I love the atomic time keeping function. It's cool to watch your G Shock change at the exact second as your phone without a Bluetooth connection. Knowing that your watch always has the correct time and that you never need to change the battery is the best.
I just want to say that I use the Atomic Clock every day and I live in Canada. I put the watch by a south facing window at night before midnight local time and it picks up a signal most of the time at midnight. The exception is during storms and heavy rains. If I miss a synchronization on one night, it picks up the atomic signal the next night. I believe that if it misses a signal at midnight, it tries again every hour several times. Thanks for the review. Entertaining as usual.
LOL never had an issue with the strap on my G.SHOCK actually been using the same watch 3 years every day now and its going strong. Never heard of anyone having issues with theirs unless they´re trying to sell straps.
I’ve had mine for about a year it’s a mudmaster I work as a auto collision tech and no other watches hold up . I have an omega chronograph and a Rolex that I never wear. I do get the rash and have to stop wearing it for a week but it holds up to constant abuse .
Thanks man, really, thank you very much on this video! I got addicted to hand watch since i found one lol. And now after like 5 years that watch is kinda falling apart and i need a new one. And as a truck driver and crane operator i choose g shock mudmaster bcse of its robust appearance and toughness. And again, thank you for letting me know that am not missing anything important if i don’t buy most expensive model! I don’t need atomic link and i don’t want it to turn on lights on movement of my wrist. You saved me a lot of money! Cheers!
I'm getting myself a G-Shock because of the MF Doom line "G-Shocks and biological clocks", and I've always liked the design of G-Shocks ever since I was a kid.
My G-Shock has solar power and atomic time keeping. I've had it for 4 years and it always works perfectly. Automatcally updates when clocks go forward in spring and back in autumn.
nice vid thanx i got a Protrek, but i had a G shock before that 1- yes resine strap is giving rashes, but you know what ? i broke mine, & i bought the same resine strap replacement ! 2- solar power is great, i had a message lately "low battery", i put the watch close to a lamp in the evening, problem solved ! 3- auto back light is useless most of the time 4- negative display was so appealing on adverts, but so difficult to read in every day use 5- Atomic auto timing is coool, i never adjust time for years 6- expensive, yes, i never use barometer, altimeter & thermometer, i thought thermometer would be nice, but heat from the body change the reading so ... 7 - yes G Shock are chunky & eye catching, that mudmaster is so niiice, but my next waych should be a Citizen promaster 8- last but not least the resine cover all around the watch preserve from scratch & shocks as i am very clumsy
I had one and hated it. Sold it to wear all my other watches. I missed the versatility and fun part that goes along with wearing a good old fashioned watch.
Don't agree about the atomic clock synchro being a gimmick. I have the 5610 and the atomic synch works great. The watch is always accurate and, with the solar charging, always has power. Well worth the money IMHO.
Agree 100%. I just bought the 5610U and love the atomic time-keeping. Will never have to adjust the time again! On the signal... it depends where you are. I'm in England (a small country) and have no problem getting the time signal. I can imagine in the US it's patchy depending how close you are to a transmitter.
Your first negative is easily fixed. Lived in a high temperature, high humidity location for many years. If you cinch the band up tight, it was very uncomfortable. Just let the band out one "hole" and you'll be fine.
I had a Garmin Fenix for 3-4 years then the battery started not holding its charge. But local watch stores couldn’t do anything about it because of the electrical components on the inside. Recently I have the basic 40 dollar 5600E and it’s a beast. Now I’m looking to see what my 2nd g-shock is gonna be.
I wear my G-Shock Atomic Solar when I'm hunting, shooting, skydiving and working on trucks and motorcycles. It's been perfect. Although my atomic time-setting feature works flawlessly, it isn't really necessary on a watch that might be off by a couple of seconds a year anyhow. And since it's a solar watch I never need to worry about the backlight running the battery down. I've been wearing it since 2011. It's my only G-shock but I will be collecting others.
@@ahmeedkhan7758 Original strap absorbs impact energy and protects the back of the watch especially. A rag strap absorbs almost no energy and leaves the back of the watch (where is stainless steel back) unprotected.
I’ve had the mud master for about 6 years. Changed the batteries (has two I guess) once. Wear it daily doing construction and has had no issues. Solid watch!
To the last point: I also disagree with people who look down on the G-Shock. It's a tool, it works, and no matter what I do with it it will still be telling time even if I'm not there to see it. It's overkill, I love overkill with my cars, my watches, my knives, my guns, and my wrenches. End of story
I’ve owned G-SHOCK watches since I was around 16 years old, never had irritation on the straps, all my watches with atomic time keeping works very well and there all in sync with each other👌👍
I have several watches ranging from the G-Shock DW5600 to Omega Seamaster 300 pro. I love the Omega but the DW5600 is the one I use the most often. The DW5600 is a hell of a good watch for the price.
What a great video! This is my first time watching "The Time Teller" because my first G-Shock is in the mail. My second Casio watch given to me by my wife 23 years ago finally died a few days ago. That was my justification point. Well, I'm now a subscriber because this video was exactly what I was looking for! I'm excited to get my first one today (G8900A-1CR) and my next one (the Rescue A-4) coming a week later. That Mudmaster worn in the video is AWESOME! Thanks for the video.
g-shock: your battery runs at least 3 years, then you have to swap it out, cost maybee 2 dollar apple "watch": your battery lifes round about 3 years, after that, it will maybee explode, and if you want to change it, it costs round about double the worth of your "watch"
I love how g shock endured all these years i love it ever since i got one when I was just a kid. I love the look the feel and how it makes me feel really reliable and very durable. I even wear it during scuba diving or snorkeling. I wish I kept all my past gshocks for collection. I planning to buy that casioak soon but I still love my current Gorillaz gshock.
Apple should’ve named their “watch” a disposable fitness tracker instead which is more an appropriate naming. Apple Watch can never ever compete in a watch segment.
@@laserguidedtrollmasterfromHell Yeah but there's a certain pride to having such a complex, hand built mechanism on your wrist that quartz just can't give you
you are so right with your last point, i wasn't owning a watch at all for about 25 years and now i just bought 2 in a row and 3rd is coming in soon. i need to slow things down i guess:D
I work as an electrical engineer, generally running around like a boon fixing things, my watch gets bashed. Colleagues have apple watches and they've all broke the screen at some point and bashed the casing to the point they take it off in dirty situations. Not my g shock though!
You are so right. I mainly like bulova marine star, and citizen promasters but I have twice as many G-SHOCKs. It’s nice to see another person feel the same!!!! Awesome content bro
I've never got why the guy says the radio control feature is a "gimmick". As long as you have a relatively clear view of the sky, you have a watch that's almost perfectly accurate literally anywhere north of the equator.
We are never done buying G-Shocks man. My G-Shock Rangeman is my everyday work watch, and the watch I wear to the junkyard, doing yardwork, working on my derelict trucks, etc.
I’ve worn a G-Shock everyday since 2nd grade. They last a lifetime and the only reason I retired my first one was because I was going into highschool and decided I wanted a ‘fresh look’ or whatever. I’m now looking into a Rangeman GW-9400. I want to know your thoughts and anything else I should know before I take the plunge.
@@SirShanova the rangemen is a clasic in my opinion. She got all the thing that casio can do. She is in my opinion the best looking g-shock in the black and red version. I got one for 6 month+ and i never have to set the time at this day never run out of battery, the solar panel work realy well. Just buy one you will not regret it !
I love my G-Shocks. The resin band doesn't bother me, but in the summer time it gets sweaty and slippery. I have a GA700 and a DW6900 and a few other cheap casios. I'll definitely have more G-Shocks and Casio squares. They're so reliable, functional, and wear great casually, working out, and being outdoors.
Just wanted to point out the dw5600 doesn't have tough solar compared to the 5610 your comparing it to in passing. I think the solar power alone could be worth the extra cost for the 5610. The atomic time keeping is also pretty darn cool when it works. Not having to adjust for daylight saving time on my watch is a real treat.
Atomic timekeeping really depends on the country and buildup of buildings in your area. Like, I get zero coverage in Vancouver, but in UK - london of all places - I can get reception. Europe around netherlands/germany no prob. In spain I have yet to get signal in my area but maybe going to a big park will change that.
I currently live in Central London but my 10th floor flat gets generally bad signal reception so I have to manually sync either by putting it on a windowsill or manually when I’m going to work in the morning, both of which work reliably. If the thing synced past 3am on its own I’d have no problems… Everywhere else in Europe I’ve had zero issues getting an automatic sync working, including Norway, by the Black Sea, Eastern Poland, and even Helsinki, even though they are meant to be out of range. Maybe reception in the US is worse somehow.
Been jonesing after a Rangeman. Is it hard to read the reverse display on the green GW9400-3? I might go for the black GW9400-1 because it has a conventional--easier to read--display, but I like the look of the green 9400-3
I love your vids, man. I strongly relate to the never ending purchasing of G-Shocks. At 46, I find my interests leading me to things that are long lasting and well made. There are lots of ways to interpret that but I find that the G-Shock line has a lot of variety and flair to feed my curiosity and interest in my the watch game.
I’ve only ever boughten g shocks and recently I was trying to find a new watch from another brand that was nicer looking but then they came out with the new slim watch and I immediately got it and I love it
When I was in the U S Marine Corps I had a luminox Navy SEAL I met a couple of Navy SEALS we got to be friends they thought it was pretty humorous that I wore that watch they told me that luminox were for wannabes and posers they actually turn me on to G-Shock watches within a few months the luminox watch was destroyed so I bought a G-Shock and never looked back I beat the hell out of that thing and I still have it I've been out of the service for years and I have other G-Shock s now the one I wear most often is my Rangeman in a hundred years you can dig my body up and I'll be wearing a G-Shock and it might still be working anyway great video and yes James Bond should wear a G-Shock maybe like a MTG especially issued from Q branch with all kinds of gadgets
when i was a navy seal green beret spetznaz marine, we wore swatch watches. all g-shocks we wore were destroyed, only the swatch watches were fine after 35 years of service. we never looked back.
@andy tanker; a soldier who mans a tank. Women can also woman a tank but since tanks womaned by women never get lost and are much more nicely decorated than tanks manned by men most soldiers, being men, do not talk about it.
I like G shocks, that’s for sure. But I love my Luminox watch. No other watch glows in the dark like my Luminox. I could care less if the Navy Seals wear them. Or don’t. If you buy any watch because someone else wears them, then you’re a loser.
I have been wearing automatics for years until apple came out with their Apple Watch. But up until recently I’ve just gotten sick of having to charge it every single day. I opted for a Gg-1000 and found the Jays & Kays adapters and upgraded my band like yours. Now I can’t even see myself going back to Apple Watch. Great video my friend
@@happydogg312 it becomes a routine like taking off the watch to shower. I set my watch into a charging cradle and shave shower and such. And it’s good for the day.
@@happydogg312 they are not for everyone lol I need something to turn off my Bluetooth speaker asap as we are not allowed to listen to music on the floor at work. But the watch is super convenient to tap pause on my music.
G-Shocks are truly amazing watches and the way I see it is that you cannot call yourself a serious watch collector or connoisseur if you do not at least own one. I still have my military-issued DW6600 that was given to me 11 years ago. I still have it and it's still going STRONG. That model was discontinued but my understanding is that it was replaced with the DW6900 which is also a great model, but I personally recommend the DW6900MS-1. I did purchased the DW5600 which I believe is the quintessential G-Shock to own; great looking too. But I will recommend the DW5600MS-1. On another note, the atomic timekeeping feature is highly overrated, same for the solar power feature.
I love my atomic timekeeping! I live on the east coast, the furthest distance from the tower and my watch updates EVERY night and receives a "high" signal. NOT A GIMMICK ;)
My most prized G Shock is my (about) 1987 DW-5600 691 H Screw Back, I got it for about $20 and completely refurbished it including grinding the scratches out of the glass and polishing it back to like new. Got reproduction resins, the only thing missing is an original buckle. My favorite G Shock to wear is the Mudman, I just really like that watch
I was timex boy most of my life loved the look of timex loved the luminous background ... but they didn’t last. I bought my first basic g shock from w mart on clearance for 17 bucks and it’s solar powered and still going. It’s a nice nice watch. Also, just bought my first apple 3 watch haven’t got it yet but am psyched I am a controlled watch freak I have Seikos which are nice too. You can like and own different brands of watches it’s ok. I just gotta know what time it is!
Just got myself a Casio pro trek 3500 (didn't want the 3510's black display) and it's a beast. Tough solar, Triple sensor, 20bars, atomic time and all the tools but found it on sale for 200 bucks, a third of the mudmaster. I'm very happy with it
Got the Mud Master and love it. The atomic time is ALWAYS on time to the second, three years and running. No rash from the band. Most large multifuntion watches have two batteries like my last G SHOCK. Batteries went out in like three years. The solar charging does get low in the winter when I wear coats that cover it. I get more "what in the hell does that do" than a turned up nose, actually never got a turned up nose. Get new friends.
My G-shock is my go-to watch for swimming, work, bike riding, etc. I love the resin strap. It's easy to clean and dry, although I have had to replace mine once already. I've replaced the battery twice, but they've lasted about 2 years each. Actually, coincidentally, during this video, I discovered my first actual issue with the watch itself. Somehow my second hand got bent and is catching on my minute hand. Luckily the watch will still work, but I can't even imagine how that happened given how tough this has been in the past and how much abuse this has taken prior to this.

G Shock, I cant afford my heroin because I spend it all on GShocks
I love G Shock. I was in the Coast Guard and it was nice to wear one watch that worked in Hawaiian summers and Alaskan winters. It survived engine rm fires and scuba diving activity on liberty. At night, when i woke up with all lights off, it was nice to check the time and see how much more sleep i could get before next watch. It looked good in uniform, PT gear or in casual R an R gear. One watch for one exciting life. Hey, i accidently did a commercial. Lol. Seriously i stand by this watch. It really did take care of me. as i traveled and served.
Just for curiosity... which one did you wear?

I got my first G-Shock in 2003 when on the USCGC Walnut in Hawaii. Got another one at some point, but the first one I got still runs today. I’ve replaced the battery in it 1-2 times. Only issue is the gasket on the backplate. You have to have it just right in order to maintain water resistance.

I would highly recommend this watch if you are a farmer like my self.
Thank you for being an American Farmer. I appreciate you.
Atomic is not a gimmick, it syncs everyday for me. The most important point from the atomic feature for me is that i never have to adjust the time for summer/winter time. This together with solar makes it that you never have to set the watch ever again. Set it up when you buy it and you are good to go for life.
same for me never had an issue with the atomic timekeeping I honestly won't buy a watch without one at least for using daily use great stuff
Also handy to set the time on automatics!
Yeah i use the G Shock to set the time on all my mechanical watches too.
I really like the resin straps on G-Shocks. No irritation or anything.
No rash here , quality skin lol.

No rash. Just not a fan of the resin.
Awesome video! I have a pathfinder and the light finally stopped working after about 15 years. Its still ticking tho.

1. They don't irritate your skin, not more than any other much more expensive brands.
2. They are stylish AF 😎 if you match them properly, been to exclusive parties where people asked me about the watch I'm wearing (full metal golden square)

Many years ago I bought the yellow one, it was a real looker. I gave it to a friend who always admired it. I miss it.

@Patrick Nwanyanwu yah bruh fr dropping it on a magnet every night really sucked 😐
Apple watches are for sophisticated sissy's.
Don't agree about the atomic clock synchro being a gimmick. I have the 5610 and the atomic synch works great. The watch is always accurate and, with the solar charging, always has power. Well worth the money IMHO.
Can’t put a price on accuracy.
Was my first G-Shock, love it.
I couldn't agree more. My rangeman is flawless. Best watch I have ever owned.
Personally I think atomic time is more beneficial to those in the military, as they wouldn’t necessarily have access to a phone to reset the time
Once a watch expert said to me “buy a watch which could be left as legacy” and an Apple Watch does not comply with this phrase(in my opinion)
Far out, that’s the best video on G-shock watches I’ve come across here on TH-cam. Thank you, sir.
One more thing YOU need to know: if you change the original strap with a rag one, the watch will loose some shock resistance.

I do notice what watches other people wear, I would think it superficial however to dismiss other's choice of accoutrements 👍
These "things I wish I knew" videos are full of great information. Thanks and do more!
Will do!!!
g-shock: your battery runs at least 3 years, then you have to swap it out, cost maybee 2 dollar
apple "watch": your battery lifes round about 3 years, after that, it will maybee explode, and if you want to change it, it costs round about double the worth of your "watch"
If apple would work with gshock to make em more durable, its possible. But apple makes money on people breaking their products.
My 2 year battery life G-shock..... It's been 7 years.... The watch is still going, haven't change battery yet.
It's about recharging it... Apple watches have a battery life of 18 hours...
Exactly
I would never buy a smartwatch over a G-shock
In 3 years no one will be wearing an Apple watch that old it will be obsolete where is a real watch any brand last decades if not more
I like the radio controlled G-Shock. I use mine to set my automatic watches, to be sure they're set accurately...
Bought the Mud Master a year ago. It's "In your Face" loud and brash and I love it ❤️
Regarding Apple watch comparisons I would love to hear your thoughts on the new GShock Heartrate enabled watch due out in April!!
@@c.g.7575 April the 20th. Although in the meantime I have bought the Garmin Fenix 5x as it was 33% off!
Apple should’ve named their “watch” a disposable fitness tracker instead which is more an appropriate naming. Apple Watch can never ever compete in a watch segment.
Imagine handing down an Apple "watch" to your son or grandson. Lol.
Imo a G-SHOCK isn't much of a watch either; I'm a mechanical over quartz kind of guy
@@dndjxnskdbajd4561 Uggh. They keep bad time and they're a pain in the ass to boot.
@@laserguidedtrollmasterfromHell Yeah but there's a certain pride to having such a complex, hand built mechanism on your wrist that quartz just can't give you
@@dndjxnskdbajd4561 I agree.
you are so right with your last point, i wasn't owning a watch at all for about 25 years and now i just bought 2 in a row and 3rd is coming in soon. i need to slow things down i guess:D
I was with ya 💯 until the atomic time keeping bit, that’s why I bought a GW6900 over the DW6900. Works every night for me. Still love ya anyway!
Cool
It’s 20 dollars more plus it’s solar.
I work as an electrical engineer, generally running around like a boon fixing things, my watch gets bashed. Colleagues have apple watches and they've all broke the screen at some point and bashed the casing to the point they take it off in dirty situations. Not my g shock though!
That last part was spot on!! I got one G-Shock now I have 10.
Same here and just ordered the "Casio-Oak"... ugh
I have 4 but in reality it is only 2 different because the others are the same exact model. Love the Blue n Gloss black color combination.
You are so right. I mainly like bulova marine star, and citizen promasters but I have twice as many G-SHOCKs. It’s nice to see another person feel the same!!!! Awesome content bro
I live in the U.K. and love having my Gshock correct on the second, I’ve never set it since I got it
Ditto
I use mine in Los Angeles, same result. The watch is always perfectly on time.
Same - I set mine when I got it 8 years ago - never needed to reset it 🙂
I've never got why the guy says the radio control feature is a "gimmick". As long as you have a relatively clear view of the sky, you have a watch that's almost perfectly accurate literally anywhere north of the equator.
Atomic timekeeping works on my watch is just fine
We are never done buying G-Shocks man. My G-Shock Rangeman is my everyday work watch, and the watch I wear to the junkyard, doing yardwork, working on my derelict trucks, etc.
Truuuue!
@@SirShanova and what i like the most is the fact that i got the weather chanel on my wrist !
2:08 Dude. That’s the most beautiful color I’ve ever seen on an analog g shock watch. THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!
"one's not enough!" ... I hear ya. I'm down the rabbit hole as we speak 😉
that rabbit hole is why im here
Just purchased my third one. Came across the MTG B1000 series the other night and had to pull the trigger. Here we go. lol
I think casio have auto dls for their battery watches for a while now. you just have to get the time zone correct.
If the thing synced past 3am on its own I’d have no problems…
Everywhere else in Europe I’ve had zero issues getting an automatic sync working, including Norway, by the Black Sea, Eastern Poland, and even Helsinki, even though they are meant to be out of range. Maybe reception in the US is worse somehow.
I've only got a Rangeman...that thing is the only thing I need on my wrist ^^
same here m8
Been jonesing after a Rangeman. Is it hard to read the reverse display on the green GW9400-3? I might go for the black GW9400-1 because it has a conventional--easier to read--display, but I like the look of the green 9400-3
i wash my g-shock every month in the dishwasher... still working since years!
That’s actually genius now that I think about it.
I can’t tell if you’re serious or not ? lol if you’re not being funny plssss lmk cuz I’m sold
@@geepreston7292 no joke dude
@S S they're really indestructible^^
@@geepreston7292 They're literally tanks, i wouldn't be surprised if they withstood that, Pressure won't be an issue for sure.
I own a Gshock Square with the resin link bracelet and i think that really is a better deal, especially in terms of rashes
Me, at 46, do totally agree!
I’ve only ever boughten g shocks and recently I was trying to find a new watch from another brand that was nicer looking but then they came out with the new slim watch and I immediately got it and I love it
Just bought my first 2 g shocks, and I'm loving them
When I was in the U S Marine Corps I had a luminox Navy SEAL I met a couple of Navy SEALS we got to be friends they thought it was pretty humorous that I wore that watch they told me that luminox were for wannabes and posers they actually turn me on to G-Shock watches within a few months the luminox watch was destroyed so I bought a G-Shock and never looked back I beat the hell out of that thing and I still have it I've been out of the service for years and I have other G-Shock s now the one I wear most often is my Rangeman in a hundred years you can dig my body up and I'll be wearing a G-Shock and it might still be working anyway great video and yes James Bond should wear a G-Shock maybe like a MTG especially issued from Q branch with all kinds of gadgets
Miguel Hernandez man said james bond needs to wear a gshock😂😂🤣
when i was a navy seal green beret spetznaz marine, we wore swatch watches. all g-shocks we wore were destroyed, only the swatch watches were fine after 35 years of service. we never looked back.
I heard a US tanker wore a Luminox that survived some loving...
The atomic time keeping works fine for me. Every night it connects to the atomic clock. It always syncs. So no it's not a "gimic".
'People will look down upon you for wearing G- shock'
When people see G- shock watches: "jesus crist, are they orignal?! Damn...."
True ☝🏻👏🏻 Happens always, and when I say hell yeah, the eyes are rounding and a new level of admiring begins 🤣
I love the atomic feature on my 5610. Works every night and keeps me from not being late for Skype meetings while WFH. So not a gimmick for me.
Thumbs up for the pen explanation!!
Dude taking apple watch in wilderness is like swiming outdoors in winter naked.
