I actually chose to go with 2 goat Blitzers. block, strip ball, tentacle/tackle. Turns the whole thing into a violent free for all to get the ball (which is good for me). Then the blocker push in, and a ball handler with sure hands arrives. It’s my tactic in turn defence into offence, and given the goats come with horns it works really well
I have found 2 beastmen with extra arms and sure hands has won so many games for me. Tentacles on the big guy can be great against dodgy teams. Saved me from some gutter runner td more than once
Hi nice advice and strategies videos. Just a small remarks here. Hakflem once per game does not let him walk to someone and steal the ball. It let him take the ball off the hands of a teammates (so not an opponent) and only at the start of his activation, so before he move (precised in the faq) . Also that's come at the coast of knocking said teammates down.
Andy I would wonder about random strength on the big guys. You aren’t scoring touchdowns with them so a single selected secondary skill (block, pro, defensive and dodge you mentioned) starts at 12 SPP (six casualties) and the price goes up from there when you are talking about something later in development. How many games and casualties can you expect to play with the team. It’s more then one game per casualty for a single player on average. Random skills on their primary tree (strength) start at 3 SPP. They can’t get strong arm, thick skull and currently can’t get multiple block. The mino can’t get grab. The remaining skills aren’t bad at all. Doesn’t always make sense to do but you make enough money in Bb2020 you can even cycle more expensive players.
@@gjnoronh on a Troll I prefer to start with Block, but then I am not a try harder, then Gaurd but I think Andy goes the other way, but I am often found to be irritated because the Troll actually had no interest in being my Blitzing super star. On my Rogre I can normally get to 6 SPP across two games if I haven't rolled that dreaded 1 and bitten the head of one of the team mates 🐀 with the 6 SPP a skill can just be selected happily 😊 Unfortunately I have only recently experienced running an Ogre and Devine was attacked so brutally in her first game she was forced into MNG territory, however when she came back her job was merely getting in the way ergo never managed more than 2 SPP for the rest of last season, never mind it is only a game of imagination and the collection of Fisherman's Tales of both what was, what was incredible and what could have been.
I think the first beastman level should be a random general. Depending on the outcome the second one as well. And maybe the next too ;) .I can make a Video on that it someone is interested in it.
Some thoughts about vomitflesh: for 180k you can use him as an advanced Oger roadblock with st5 av10+, no stupid roles for standing up and foul apperance will sometimes come in handy too. The best about that is that you save your importand players from getting hurt.
They are the first team I took to a tournament having spent until very late on the night before the tournament painting my conversion of a 3rd edition Morg into a Minotaur and knew absolutely nothing about putting skills on the Players before I arrived it wasn't until half way through the day that someone helped me put skills onto the team and left the tournament with a 25% win rate which was very enjoyable for someone that hadn't played Blood Bowl in twenty or more years. Grashnak Blackhoof is the ultimate Blitzer for the team, sadly GW doesn't care about BB enough to release him
If you roll something you don't like, you can choose a secondary skill instead. (Been FAQ'ED to also allow primaries instead.) But bb3 isn't completely up to date with the rules.
Thanks for putting out these videos. One thing I've noticed in watching all of these is that you recommend a certain setup but then some of the formation sections use a different setup. Easy enough to fix on our end, but just a minor inconsistency. Am I correct in assuming that the ogre on the LOS would be swapped for a beastman until you can afford the ogre or would you sacrifice symmetry of the second line and put a Chaos warrior on the LOS?
Love the content, I find your insight super useful. As an Editor your cut aways are far too short, in the future I'd consider stills that you can keep on for 3-4 second with an easy-ease zoom/Pull out. I'd personally screen the game at 4k so you can probably grab a shed load of stills or motion. Understand that's a shed load of work though. :) Again, love the video's
Great guide as per usual Andy. I realy admire how thorough and positive you are.... And on that note i see 28 positive comments below ... and I happen to give the first like... for shame guys... just shame... give ol' Andy some love =D
Does "Very Long Legs" work as you described? It has a very different description in the BB3 ("Jump up tests") vs. the rule book ("Jump over") so I'm unsure what it does.
offensive setup is based on 2 unknowns: 1. what turn you are on 2. specifically how your opponent sets up. Offensive guides are therefore boarderline impossible
I’m a bit confused as to why you didn’t talk about the Minatore in this video. I’m newish to BB so was thinking the Minatore looked pretty great on the team of goats!!
Something he didn't mention is that tournament wise with set skills there one of the worst teams to play as there lack of any skills make them very weak compared to teams that have block or dodge. And them being expensive in price makes it hard to buy stars for them too. Only good in very long leages.
You talk about only having five skills not six. However with the new rules it is only 92 SPP to get to level 6 not 176. Maybe a little bit more if you take some secondaries; or less if you got a lucky random. Not that many players are likely to get to five skills, let alone six I just found your comment about skill ups interesting.
Sorry had to choose words I can spell lol 47 dyslexic. I watched your chaos chosen video (and outhers) and thought I'd use ur advice. The crab defence set up is it a legal set up as I copied it and when I go in game it won't let me use it or is it blood bowl 3 playing up . Sorry 😞 wasting ur time thx

Trolls have regenerate, so in some ways they're more resilient. The question is the cost of needing another player nearby to make them reliable. And technically Trolls also have the Projectile Vomit skill, but that's rarely that useful. Overall, the Ogre is more reliable and the Minotaur has the ST6 blitz and Frenzy. A Troll is the budget option.
I think prehensile tail is also worth a shout. A developed chaos team will always be able to put up a fight against other bash teams, but I find sometimes they can be left clutching at shadows against elf teams. Yes, tackle is great for punching them, but you only get one blitz per turn, so after you've got a couple of tacklers on the team, Prehensile tail seems to me the more useful skill for controlling the elves. It works against all the elves, even those linemen that might not have dodge, and while tackle turns a 1/36 into a 1/6 failure chance for a AG4 dodger, they can team re-roll on crucial plays. Prehensile tail only takes them down to a 1/9 but that's it, turnover. On those spare utility slots for rounding out a player, or on randomised mutation skill picks, I never regret a few prehensile tails in the team.
Don't agree with you, love the troll, he's cheap, has regen, and he's going to do really well the road block job, probably become, at some point, a bon xD
Claws+mighty blow do NOT work together in BB3. Pin to let people know. EDIT: I believe it now works property, still a shame piling on is a foul action.

They don’t both modify the armor roll at the same time but claws on armor and MB on injuries works fine. You miss the “7” rolls on armor you would have made but it’s still a good combo.
How is it possible that the models look so devoid of character compared to BB2. What an achievement.
Thanks! Look forward to trying them out.
Even better than I expected, awesome guide for the new Chaos Chosen! Minotaur is still my favourite of the big 3 just for those juicy blitzes.
Armor 9+ is risky but he also doesn't lose his tackle zones when you roll 1 and horns plus frenzy is just great so yeah, Minotaur for me too.

True. The lack of starting skills make them very iffy for short runs. You really need the time to build the team.
