The best feelings you have when you come back to India is you are not an immigrant any more.
After coming back to lndia for good after 42 years in London, l can bet the quality of life l am getting here, l wouldn't get that anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, my dream has been shattered as my beloved husband passed away 2 years after coming back.
Anybody wants to come back, must come back when the children are young.
When In India you have to accept India as it is.

I returned to India from US 17 years ago. I have established myself in both countries. I took care of both my parents. My children can survive in both places. India is not a mistory for them. They like certain things in US and other things in India. They feel world is at their disposal and so am i .

Once financially independent, it is really good idea to consider return back to India for children education/mindset/values.
Moreover it will a great opportunity to take care parents and spending quality of life withthem.
After the children's education, they can decide themselves where to settle, as they have UK passport they came and work in UK later based on their interest.

What is so good about India? It is a herd society. Zero law and order, zero human value, zero value of skills and knowledge, just busy bowing and bending. Can't even get the trains to 160kmph consistently. India is a very decent tourist destination. Best or not.

I am currently living in the UK, what I have realised here is that if one is very individualistic person; takes only their own responsibility, feels no obligation towards anyone else except the government! then the west is good for you. However, we Indians are brought up with very different set of values, which is embedded in family and community, making us communitarian person at the very metaphysical level. So in essence one is trading family and community for timely buses and trains in the west!

It’s wrong to pin the decision to move back to India to parents. The real reason in most cases is people find it very cheap to send kids to private schools, join sports clubs etc, get help for household chores. All these things are absurdly costly here. Another thing is that these are all people who have acquired an American or British passport already. So it would definitely in their best interest to move back to India, and if things don’t work out, they can freely move back to these western countries.

Just to balance the other side of the opinion, some comments from an Indian in UK.
Winter: Multisports are the basis for every sportsperson. The UK does completely different sports in winter and summer. My child is a cricketer, so he plays cricket in summer and hockey/rugby in winter, along with regular swimming and running.
Juggling: Sports in the UK are community-driven. You, as a parent, should be equally committed. It's not like in India, where you just put your children in coaching classes.
Productivity: Productivity is not equal to more hours. Europe, including the UK, is one of the best places for work-life balance.
India has changed: maybe for 2 boys would you say the same for Girls!

If you can please try to find a guest who will answer this question.. although I am not sure if it makes sense or if it’s too much to be asking someone.. for Indians who have moved back here permanently with US citizen kids , do they ever wonder what their kids are gonna do? How are they going to make a decision at mere 18yrs of age that which country they want to choose? Maturity doesn’t come by 18yrs when the kids have to make such an important decision.. moreover if the kids move to US for studies or job and they also feel confused there without their parents, can they choose to become Indian citizens again? I know with Oci they can stay for unlimited time in India but what if they want to change their citizenship from US to India? Is there a process for that? Would be helpful if you could shed some light on this.. Thank you 🙏

My kids are British and we moved back to India on OCI. I am from army background, while growing up, I moved at various places. Movement during the growing period provides exposure, understanding, and therefore maturity of making conscious decisions and flexible at any place which provides growth and strength.
My kids spent significant amount of time in the UK and now they are in India, this will make them flexible to see the entire world as their playground.
Imagine a frog growing up in one pond only, and the other who has grown up in multiple will provide them ability and maturity to make the right decision.

Everyone moves from country for better economic conditions. Usually we move when you are younger and the pay is relatively higher in the west. Then you earn more, but feel bitter that labour cost is less expensive in the east for the chores. East or West, if we do increase our income above middle class in that respective country then you can have pretty much the same life style with housekeep, cleaners, gardeners etc.. The aim should be to develop your income to afford that in any country.

Not doing laundry, dishes and looking for servants??? Taking own children to their activities does need car and not your presence in UK.
Thinking about old parents life but making them to take care of your own children and making them cook and pamper you. All life conveniences.
Even after moving to India, parents live alone in their own home.
Going to different cities... Running away from relatives. haha. So, in-laws too.
Bengaloru has developed and good for opportunity and has life style comparatively.
UK weather doesn't help during winter. Not able to adapt to cold.
He wants to interact with kids - basically no control over kids. You don't want them to be independent.
Authority over kids will be gone.
When kids grown up, they don't want to come back. Then how they are happy living ik UK ?
Doing UK business based in india and moving to india is not completely giving away UK.
Having own business in India, can have indians working for UK production in lower wages paying in INR not in pounds.
Sports opportunity for children - that too in best place in bengaluru.
How many can afford such academies in India?
Looking for schools and sports academy as good as UK. haha
There are many academies in UK. But needs to be paid in pounds.
Everything is based on self conveniences.
How many indian families are able to send their children to such big academics in india or even a normal places?
Moving home is not packing 💯, but to rent the home and still own it in UK. Rent paying the mortgage and still have UK addresses.
    Pensions - UK pensions.
    Citizenship ???
So totally its all about self convenience. Not able to adapt , live independently to take care .. needs other people eho can be servants doing chores.
What if those servants life changes ? What if they get a opportunity to move out?
    BBC - anti india.. hahaha
So make money in UK and live indian life.
If wife not willing, then the reason is not fairing women.
Multiply by two living in india with all UK standard life style. hahaha
