  • Part 2 of 2! Premarital counseling often leaves a lot to be desired, but almost certainly an overlooked topic is the interaction and impact of neurodivergence plus attachment styles in a long term relationship. What happens when one partner has ADHD and the other is insecurely and anxiously attached? 😬
Here is a conversation that would have been greatly beneficial for us to hear before getting married and hoping it reaches some folks who could benefit from hearing it now.

I just came across this video by happenstance; I'm really glad that that happened. Thank you both for sharing your very personal, vulnerable journey; it is very insightful.

I love you guys! I can relate to everything in this video. I have ADHD and I've been trying to figure out what "is with" my husband for decades..... and I'm pretty sure I know now!! Wow! Amazing! Forever grateful! Keep it coming! You are like a life line! 😊

I feel like a learn a lot about myself and my marriage from each of your videos. Thank you! In your journey to healing the anxious attachment, what resources (outside of therapy) did you find most beneficial? Is there a book or podcast that you find helpful?

Thanks so much! Glad to hear it! As far as therapy goes, I found EMDR helpful. But aside from that, learning more about attachment through parenting curriculums like Circle of Security also helped me lay a better foundational understanding of what was going on. There are a handful of clinicians who specialize in attachment issues that are in social media - they may have better resource recommendations on this particular front. Wishing you the best and grateful for you join in us on the journey!
