I am a Jamaican so I cook completely different from Trini but the fact that I'm living here in Trinidad I love to try your trim style and I think you're doing a great job this is one of my favorite meal
lol Thank you. That is my greatest wish to make everyone feel good about cooking and show them how simple it really is. Hope you try some recipes soon :)
Hi Renee thanks for a delicious recipe .My husband just made this for dinner and girl that thing was delicious.keep those recipe coming.if you can I prefer dinner recipe.God Bless cute dimples.
Lovely dish.....I'm from St. Vincent...I tried it yesterday but I substituted the butter with coconut oil and and I only use the coconut milk...ohh my goodness 😍 it was good... thanks for sharing
thanks looks good.we Bajans used to prepare the sauce first then the cou cou ...plain...water okra cornmeal ..salt in the sauce or stew.. I prefer it but I'll try your way maybe!
I’m going to try the coo coo this way but omit the okra since I don’t eat it. I recently tasted some Vincy coo coo and after it set in the fridge for a day, we cut it up and fried it so it got crispy on the outside. Tasted delicious with fried stew fish.
Everything Renee cooks is a feast for the eyes. I'm gonna try this soon! In the Turks & Caicos they would call this Stew Fish "Steamed Fish", T&C Stew Fish would start with a brown roux and then added vegetables and water. I'm hungry now.
Firstly you're gorgeous, and I admire your beautiful smile. Your recipes are very interesting bcuz of the mixture of flavors, also your energy is very positive. Keep up the good work
Gorgeous plate hunnie! Bet its absolutely delicious! Been looking for a coo cou recipe for ages. Only change will be to add pimentos instead of the peppers and thyme into the fish. I love pimentos and thyme. Looking forward to more of your works.
I am from Barbados and we make a cou cou there also with cornmeal and okras but totally differently. I am going to try it Trini style, it looks delicious.
Blacks in Southern America also eat coo coo, but they refer to it as grits. I thinks coo coo would be great with shrimp, too. Italians call it polenta. Jamaicans call it turn cornmeal, and Jamaicans also make a sweet version of coo coo with butter, and brown sugar.
For her stew fish my mom browns a tbsp of flour then sautes the vegetables and adds water to make the gravy. Btw I'd love to see your twist on stew chicken. Can you make a video?
Hey if youre cooking....stew fish and cocoo.....for staff lunch how would you cook the rice to blend with the dish!!! I mean if it goes good qith fry rice or rice and peas etc...i would appreciate the feed bk
Hi hi I'm new to your channel. The bottled ingredient directly after the brown sugar for the fish sauce, I'm afraid I didn't get the name properly. Thanks much
I have a question Renee you're not using any taste maker in your food as trini I use it always for favorable taste...salt and black pepper isn't how I do it..but the food was great..
Hmmm🤔 I find that cornmeal coocoo cooking time was real short. Hope it was properly cooked, cause I cook my coocoo for a good 20 minutes or more. It looked pretty colourful. I usually put the Ochros in the fish sauce. I'll have to sample that to know if it was properly cooked. Good luck in your career. 🙏🥳💖
I am a small bar and grill owner in Dominica. I love your cooking and see many recipes that i can use in my business. I would love more of your ideas, may we share contact info.

Gloria Nnamani your way is the way I ‘m use to eating Coo Coo. I prefer it that way. Too much stuff in her way.

I'm Panamanian/Colombian; my grandfather is Bajan. Never used coconut milk; will def give it a try next time.
I am from Barbados and we make a cou cou there also with cornmeal and okras but totally differently. I am going to try it Trini style, it looks delicious.

Your dishes look great ! What could you use in place of Shadobene ?
Cilantro is a close relative
eatahfood Thank you ! I really appreciate it .
Great recipe chef, looking tasty, 👍 👍 👍
Is it salted butter you used or unsalted?

Excellent job
For her stew fish my mom browns a tbsp of flour then sautes the vegetables and adds water to make the gravy. Btw I'd love to see your twist on stew chicken. Can you make a video?
Amber hmm your mom makes a roux for stew fish?! Nicceee!!! That's a great idea actually... Will definitely try that

You are amazing 🎉
I didnt have coconut milk. But since I saw you use some type of heavy cream, I used evaporated milk. Was just as nice and tasty.
Evaporated milk is a no no. Use coconut milk.
Looks good..... Now im hungry
I make my coo coo different to yours but the way you made yours are just as nice. 🤗
Renee this looks delicious 😋
Hey if youre cooking....stew fish and cocoo.....for staff lunch how would you cook the rice to blend with the dish!!! I mean if it goes good qith fry rice or rice and peas etc...i would appreciate the feed bk
The fish can be served with rice.
Blendid colours
Any quantities????
What exactly is shadow benny? I like your explanation of the coo coo.
Shadon Beni is culantro which is a close relative to cilantro
It’s so delicious I am trying your recipe today thank you
Hi hi I'm new to your channel. The bottled ingredient directly after the brown sugar for the fish sauce, I'm afraid I didn't get the name properly. Thanks much
That was roucou. Its an extract from Annatto
Welcome to the channel!
Is there a substitute for the roucou sauce?
Not really but you can omit it
Such a pretty and beautiful chef. Real Trini
wowww that's the most creamy smooth coo coo I've ever seen !!! niceee
I have a question Renee you're not using any taste maker in your food as trini I use it always for favorable taste...salt and black pepper isn't how I do it..but the food was great..
Sometimes the tastemakers over powers. In this case given that the white fish is delicate, omitting the tastemakers works fine.
Nice Renee! can you do a local pesto for me please?
I never thought about adding milk to coocoo. I imagine it would make it really creamy. I will have to try it.
Lovely..
I am a small bar and grill owner in Dominica. I love your cooking and see many recipes that i can use in my business. I would love more of your ideas, may we share contact info.

It looks very good yammie but I dont see the ne o the cooco you put CV in the pot
Can this be done without the roucou?
Most def! The roucou is optional.
Lovely
Nice.
What s white fish tho?
Usually it would be something like Tilapia or Swai
Great now I'm hungry
Yummo 😋
if you cocoo come out too soft how to fix it
You can add more cornmeal
I didn't catch what you said was in the bottle of red liquid you poured on the fish. What was it please?
That liquid is called ROUCOU. If you click on the more button you will see the link for the recipe.😊
1) Can we talk about how beautiful this woman is 2) This really helped me out with my own version of the dish ...beautiful video.
