Hi Nick, sorry for the late reply but your post and only just come through, thanks we make all our videos the same way to be the best for people to watch and help as many people as we can.
Thank you for your informative website! One additional source of a water leak in a Bosch washing machine is the cold water inlet valve. I needed to replace mine at year 10 and year 23 of my machine so I would say they have a life of about 10 -11 years. The failed valve will drip a small amount of water from where the solenoid meets the plastic housing and that water will drip on the inside of the machine to the floor pan and eventually the floor under the washer. To diagnose, remove the top of the machine and inspect.
Hi, thanks so much for your comment...it's great to hear that your washing machine is still up and running after 23 years! Well done for any part replacements you have done yourself, and keep going with the fixes in the future!
Hi, thanks for your nice comment. It's great to hear you liked our video (and our presenter!)...and we hope that we have helped you solve the washing machine leaks you were having.
Thank you so much for this excellent video. Very informative! Although I struggled to take the filter out, it turns out that the filter seal had limescale on it so I used limescale remover and the seal is as good as new. Really can't thank you enough for this video. Should I need any washer spares I'll be sure to buy from espares.

Great video. My washing machine is leaking from the back at the bottom right (if looking from the back) on filling. Any ideas what could be the problem please?
A small black rubber tube near the bottom and just inside the rear access panel came detached from whatever it was supposed to be attached to ( I am not certain what it was) on our LG frontload washing machine and flooded our laundry room, hall, kitchen, and basement. Yes, one small detached rubber tube caused all of that. I did not find any clamp, so I reattached the tube (to whatever it is) and taped it for extra security.
Thanks for the video eSpares. Watching because I have a leaking machine, will try to diagnose later tonight... A question please: At 4:10 - suggests check water intake hose seal, if leaking at back of machine. But, I think if hose seal was faulty, leak would be constant (not just when machine is running) - does that sound right?
Hi surfclimbcycle , you are right if it was leaking from the inlet hose it would leak all the time but it is more noticeable during wash programs due to the increase in water.
Hi Olivia, thanks for your comment...glad we could help you solve the issue! If you need a new dispenser, check out the eSpares website. www.espares.co.uk/search/pt1555/washing-machines/dispensers
I've just changed the heating element. Have done this successfully in the past. This time I'm getting a leak from the join where element meets machine. How can I fix this?
Hi, thanks so much for your comment here, it's great to hear you appreciate the way we produced this video. Hopefully it has helped you to identify the leaks on your washing machine?
I like that cardboard trick. In my problem machine I swapped the discharge pipe, it couldn't hold pressure and under test I could hear air escape, so I replaced it and drat- still leaking. :(
Good video, but it hasn't solved my problem. The plumber didn't take the machine apart and it appeared to be okay on a short wash cycle. There has been gradual seepage overnight though and this morning the floor was wet. I shall have to leave it for a few days and see if it all dries up. If it does then I'll know it's the machine. If it gets wet again then it must be coming from somewhere else.
I've got a Kenmore Front-loading washing machine and water is pooling by right front leg AFTER it sits awhile from washing a load. Where do you think it's coming from?
Hi, thanks so much for your comment, hopefully our video has helped! you to identify the leak on your washing machine, and you fix it to be leak-free quickly!
Good video, but my washer machine is Maytag Atlantis that has the door on the top. And it seems to be coming from the back and still leaks after the hose has been replaced.
I overloaded my Hotpoint washing machine and it started to make rattling noises halfway through the cycle it had flooded the floor. It appears to be coming from either the front or back. Could it possibly be one of the problems you have mentioned on this video? As I'm thinking I may need to replace the washing machine 😔 I won't be doing this in a hurry again!
Hi Lisa, it could be but try to establish where the water is coming from and look for any damage to the hoses underneath, if you can find it you can replace the part and it will save you buying a new machine.
Hi Kazi, check the seal on the filter because if that is damaged it won't make a watertight seal causing the leak if it is damaged it will need to be replaced.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Nice to hear that you appreciated this video, hopefully it has helped you to solve your water leak in the washing machine.
Great video. My whirlpool machine seems to be leaking when it is draining. Is there any part or place you recommend I should look as it doesn’t seem to be the pipes and is coming from under the machine. Keep up the great work!
There are a number of connections from the tub to the drain pipe. If your front loading washing machine has a coin catch, I would start by cleaning that, followed by cleaning the section of bellowed hose from tub to drain pump, and from drain pump to the wall.
hello, can you please help me as my hoover machine is in water leaking from drain point, how to fix it.. or how to check if the drum is good or not, water is getting in but the drum doesn't fill, do you think it's problem with drum and drain pump? the drain pump had a problem so I changed the drain pump which is good now but now its error 02 water fill problem and i can hear the water is going out the from the drain.. please tell what do i do?
Hi uday, is it leaking from the filter area or the drain hose? check the filter is tight and the O ring seal is not damaged, if its the drain hose check for a hole and replace the hose if it's damaged. Error code E02 is an issue with the filling so check the water pressure and the inlet valve, it's not a problem with the drum.
Hi . My sumsung washing machine ecobubble is not taking the water in water is just leaking by the opening where we put the detergents. Could u give me information please. Thank you.
Hi Teklit Teklzghi, leaking from the soap drawer usually indicates the drawer is blocked, take the drawer out and check the holes in the top of the drawer and clean the drawer.
Hi Shireen, it will be leaking from a component inside so you need to find from where put a little water inside, unplug it and look inside for the leak.
Hi, my machine is leaking when its not running a cycle so I am thing that its the water pipe that is connected to the machine. I turn the water off and there is no leak, turn it back on and there is water at the bottom. Any recommendation ?
Hi Meena, check inside the inlet hose as it has a O ring seal that may be leaking and make sure the hose is tight when it goes back on, the other thing is the water valve so check that as well.
I'm stumped!....On any cycle but sticking to the 15min quick one for simplicity...machine fills fine, swooshes around fine, pumps out fine & then spins fine. It then starts to refill for the rinse & my floor is flooded within 10 seconds, as fast as if the fill hose had suddenly fallen off! I attempted the cardboard trick but the whole thing is almost instantaneously drowned such is the speed/flow of the water suddenly coming out from somewhere within? Despite the gushing, tipping the machine to left or right to peek underneath reveals not so much as a drip anywhere on the drum/hoses etc...just a huge puddle that may as well have bubbled up through my kitchen floor rather than down from the machine.
Mine is filling in the barrel. A drip inside while turned off and the next morning there's water in the barrel getting ready to overflow on to the floor.
eSpares thanks, it’s only doing it when on the first rinse, level very high in conditioner drawer, (syphon not blocked) and the machine is topping up mid cycle, not looked at pressure sensor yet.
Hi Adrian, it is common for water to be left in the door seal but we would suggest leaving the dispenser drawer and the washing machine door open to allow air to circulate and help dry out any water but you can just use a cloth to mop up the water.
I have a top loading Samsung washer. During rinse cycle, I went in laundry room and it was totally flooded. Doesn't seem to be the hose. What else could be the problem?
Hi Jeanette, the first thing you need to do is to identify where the leak is coming from. If you have a leak that’s coming from the front of the machine, it could be from the detergent drawer or the housing, the door seal, or it could be coming from the pump filter or pump. If you’ve got a leak that’s coming from the back of the machine, it could be the hoses or the valve, and if you have a leak that’s coming from underneath the machine, it could be any number of those things.
I have a Kemore Elite front loader & notice water/ foam coming from the back top corner vent. The leak isn't happening with every wash, which is baffling, several days of washing can go by without any leak. Any suggestions on what can be done or has anyone else experienced this? Thank you & I appreciate any help I can get!
Hi Cupcake7760, it sounds like there is too much powder in the drawer causing it to over foam, take the drawer out and make sure there are no blockages.
Hi Cupcake, let's break this down, what is the machine doing when it is leaking, filling, washing, draining as we need to determine what is functioning to cause a leak. Also, check the vent for any signs of damage to allow water to leak.
My machine is a Kenmore Elite 796-41029900. The leak is happening during the drain cycle. Yesterday I watched your video, along with others & this is what is did to try & find the issue/s; I unscrewed both the cold/ hot hose, cleaned the filter, which I did find a lot of sediment, per the manual I soaked it in vinegar, scrubbed it & attaches both the hoses back to the machine. After watching another video, someone mentioned the “gray sludge” showing up on clothing after the wash was completed. It was recommended that the screws be removed on the 3 parts inside the drum that hold the agitator balls. I removed the screws, slid out the pieces & what I discovered was horrendous to say the least. After cleaning everything, I attached them back. I throughly cleaned the rubber piece around the drum, removed the drawer that holds bleach..etc & throughly cleaned it, I cleaned the filter /drained the hose that’s located on the front bottom left, (I actually drain it after every wash), last I ran 2 cleaning cycles putting bleach in the drawer. There was a large amount of suds in the first cycle & hardly any in the second one. I didn’t have any leaks. The strange thing is, days can go by without any leaks & I do at least 2 loads everyday.
Can someone please help with an answer as my washer is going into last spin the temp button goes to 0 and it doesn't spin properly and water then fills my powder drawer
I’ve replaced the heater recently and I just put it on a 90 wash and now the heater is loose and it’s leaking badly so I really don’t know what to do because this is the second time it’s done this A few months back when we did it we noticed it was loose so we tightened up and I think we over tightened it and it came loose and now today it’s done the same thing so I really don’t know why it’s doing this please help me!
SuperWasherKid2002 if you have striped the threads go to eBay item number 361909285985 or so thing similar to this item, and it sounds as if your gasket it no good get a new one or use a silicon or mastic thinly spread to seal it. I hope this helps.
The usual cause of a heater coming loose is not pushing it in far enough. The rubber seal when tightened bulges up to hold it it position. If not far in enough the bulge can be on the outer side of the opening almost pushing the heater out. Once the water is heated and cooled a few times the heater can move from expansion and come out. Take the heater completely out again and apply a little liquid soap on the seal before refitting. Then make sure the heater is 'fully in' by giving it a push with a screwdriver a few times before tightening the bolt.
Remove the drawer by pulling it out and pushing the tab to release, check the drawer for blockages and give it a good clean, if OK take the top off by the screws at the back and look at the connecting hose from the drawer to the tub.
eSpares thanks for that. I just checked and found that if i disconnect drainage hose and keep it lowered the dispenser drains therefore not overflowing. When i re-attatch under sink it starts to drain slowly and eventually overflows from dispenser onto the floor. Is there a blockage issue the pump seems fine ?
Hi A M, a couple of things make sure the drain hose does not go too low as it will siphon causing it to push the water into the sink, check for a blockage in the sink and see if it has a one way trap which will stop the water coming back into the machine.
@@eSpares thanks. I have tried a few things but i noticed if i disconnect from sink and lower the waste to ground level the dispenser drains ok. However if i raise the waste pipe even 6-8 inches of the floor the dispenser again overflows regardless it been connected to sink. In summary keep waste pipe ground level the dispenser drains ok. The pumps works fine when rinsing the drum.
Hi A M we are getting confused by the dispenser reference as the only time you would have water in the dispenser is when it fills up and it has nothing to do with draining, are you talking about the filter chamber?
I have an LG front loader and there is a small stream of water shooting out of a piece of white plastic that appears to be a back flow for the pump. It will eventually drain all the water once the washer errors. The error flashing "IE" is accompanied by a flashing medium spin and start button LEDs. Anybody?
Hi Scott, IE on LG washing machines refers to a water inlet error so start by checking the water pressure, hoses damaged or kinked or clogged filters. it may also be backfilling so check that.
Hi Vijaya, E17 refers to water supply time exceeded, so check the water pressure, also the inlet valve and any hose filters that may be stopping the water from coming in.
This is probably the most informative, well put together assistance video I have ever come across. Thank you

Most likely the water pump
There are a number of connections from the tub to the drain pipe. If your front loading washing machine has a coin catch, I would start by cleaning that, followed by cleaning the section of bellowed hose from tub to drain pump, and from drain pump to the wall.
What if none of these are the issue? Just curious, I am going to troubleshoot and see what I can find out...

hello, can you please help me as my hoover machine is in water leaking from drain point, how to fix it.. or how to check if the drum is good or not, water is getting in but the drum doesn't fill, do you think it's problem with drum and drain pump? the drain pump had a problem so I changed the drain pump which is good now but now its error 02 water fill problem and i can hear the water is going out the from the drain.. please tell what do i do?
Hi uday, is it leaking from the filter area or the drain hose? check the filter is tight and the O ring seal is not damaged, if its the drain hose check for a hole and replace the hose if it's damaged. Error code E02 is an issue with the filling so check the water pressure and the inlet valve, it's not a problem with the drum.

Thank you so much sir

The usual cause of a heater coming loose is not pushing it in far enough. The rubber seal when tightened bulges up to hold it it position. If not far in enough the bulge can be on the outer side of the opening almost pushing the heater out. Once the water is heated and cooled a few times the heater can move from expansion and come out. Take the heater completely out again and apply a little liquid soap on the seal before refitting. Then make sure the heater is 'fully in' by giving it a push with a screwdriver a few times before tightening the bolt.
"Its a good idea" .....

Hi FamMan Rox, thank you ☺
my dispenser draw drainage does allow to drain properly water overflows how do i unblock
U r awesome bro
Hi Ken, thanks and remember to keep watching.
My machine leaks when the load is done what can that be
Hi, we have a video dedicated to washing machine leaks here that you can check out!
th-cam.com/video/3esaKEhQ_VA/w-d-xo.html
I have an LG front loader and there is a small stream of water shooting out of a piece of white plastic that appears to be a back flow for the pump. It will eventually drain all the water once the washer errors. The error flashing "IE" is accompanied by a flashing medium spin and start button LEDs. Anybody?
Hi Scott, IE on LG washing machines refers to a water inlet error so start by checking the water pressure, hoses damaged or kinked or clogged filters. it may also be backfilling so check that.
Matt sounds like the guy from the Gopher Vids channel.
Hi Zariarn, and we thought Mat was unique ☺
Can't run a cycle if the machine is full of water 😕
i am using bosch 6 kg front load washing machine.when i am using shirts mode it disply e 17.what can i do sir
Hi Vijaya, E17 refers to water supply time exceeded, so check the water pressure, also the inlet valve and any hose filters that may be stopping the water from coming in.
Always saying replace it .what is it? The whole washing machine or the part your talking about?
Hi DionShow, we are always about showing you how to replace the part and not the machine.
well the machine stops in time and clothes are all with bubbles of shampoo
Hi Diellona Aliaj, powder left in the machine at the end of the programme can indicate too much powder is being used, reduce the amount and try again.
eSpares thank you
Hi Diellona Aliaj, you are welcome ☺
I have a Samsung front end washing machine and there is water in the front left of the machine...it’s right under the leg or foot
And the machine is only 8 months old
Hi Duarte, check the soap drawer for any signs of a blockage first but if it's under guarantee you should contact the service agent.
Great video. Very helpful. Thank you
Hi Caroline, glad you enjoyed the video.
