My machine only leaked if you did a number of loads in a row. I found a drawstring clogging a hose so my guess is that it had to swell a bit before it started leaking This was a zero dollar fix. It can pay to simply look sometimes. But if you need parts, these guys are great. Reasonable prices. Able to return parts with no problem. Keep up the good work.
I’m having a similar problem, previously it would leak just every now and then but it’s getting more frequent now, but it leaks only when the water drains out. I’d bet something might be partially blocking my drain hose? I have a cat and I wonder if it’s possible that it’s cat hair.
Wow, this was super helpful. Thank you. I bought a used washer for my basement and it was leaking as the tub started to fill. I thought it was the water pump and seal, but it turned out to be just the connection of the inlet hose. Seem like a heavy load that rocks the machine will cause this to come loose. Quick 10min fix no additional parts needed! Thank you again!

My washing machine flooded my laundry room twice. The first time, I thought my washing machine became off balance during the spin cycle and splashed water everywhere. After the second time my room was flooded, I decided to run it again and closely monitor my washing machine go through it cycles so I would know where the leak was. I found out my drain pipe was clogged. Once the washer machine went in drain/spin cycle, the drain pipe quickly filled up with water and spilled out all over the floor. I used a drain snake/augger to clear the debris but all I did was shove it down the pipe and pack it very dense. I had to buy Flow Easy ™ drain opener to get the lint, cat hair, and dust clump to flow down the pipe and open it up. After waiting 10 minutes, I restarted my washing machine. The water drained into the pipe and all that gunk finally washed down. It cost me about $17.00 for a 30 oz container. That's a lot cheaper than spending hundreds on a plumber!

Just thought I would add that on front loading washers, there are usually small drain holes in the bottom of the rubber front door seal/boot/gasket. Sometimes coins and other debris will get trapped in there and block these drain holes, causing wash water to flood/leak out the front door... 😁
First of all, thanks so much for having this TH-cam channel!! Very informative!! I feel confident that I can repair a few of the issues that may pop up with my old school top load washer. So my old school washer had a big leak in our laundry room which is luckily a cement floor. I called our local repair store that I've used for years, and they came out but were unable to find any leaks when we test ran the machine. They thought maybe it was a leak from my bathroom which was on the other side of the wall of the laundry room. I used it a few times after and it was fine. But after using it the last time, I again had a leak, this time a small one. I tipped over the washer and felt around the inside and bottom of it, but it was bone dry. I am perplexed. None of the hoses were wet, nor was there any water in the adjacent bathroom. Any ideas on how to pinpoint the leak?
Top load washer. Leaks on fill cycle. Drips on left side on edge like Mabe the hose to fill tub maybe cracked?????? Also drips on rinse cycle. Only when water is sprayed in tube it drips. Fill tub and machine off no drips.
My top load washer keeps filling with water. I won't shut off and go to the next setting(like agitate) and it appears to be leaking just a little bit. Any ideas why?
"floor is full of water, because the washing machines supply line not capped ", can you explain what it means by "supply line is not capped", is there a cap or a screw on the supply line?
If my washer machine is leaking in the bottom would that stop it from spinning I have a general electric three year old, I already changed the water pump it leaks when I put it on the big load what else could it be. ?
On top loaders the bleach feeder could be leaking easiest way to fix is to open the upper rear panel n disconnect the pump that delivers water to the bleach tray, the pump should be the last pump on the right side of the machine looking at the machine from the back.
After a cycle finishes, water is entering the tub from the bottom. It's like it's bubbling up. Does this mean the valve between the drum and the drain hose has failed and that water is coming back in? We just replaced the inlet valve because we had a drip. The drip is gone now. So when I would wash a lot of clothes and come back an hour or two later to move them to the dryer, and the clothes were wet, we thought it was from the drip. But I think we have the drip going on plus this water bubbling up from the bottom.
@@appliancepartspros It magically stopped once I pulled the washer away from the way and took off the top plate. I put it back and still no leak. Maybe the electronics got stuck and simply unplugging it from the wall did something??
Have you ever heard of washer in agitator cycle fling droplest out of tub and into the interior of washer? Fills up the bottom piece until it finds the lowest hole and runs out onto floor
My washing machine leaks from a drainage hose while filling water once I start washing leakage stops. So how can solve this problem? Please any Suggestions.
My washer only leaks during rinse drain cycle and then wont spin out...works fine during wash cycle the whole way through...what is causing this?! I have the Amana NTW5500TQ0 and am confused as to what part is exactly having the issue...do happen to know whats going on?
You will need to check to determine where the water is coming from. It could be a loose or damaged hose, or a damaged part. You will need to replace whichever part is damaged.
I don't understand. Just moved into a completely new build home. 11 1/2 year old amana started leaking very little pretty much adding moisture on concrete floor in room. Well, it stopped working and bought a new whirlpool and I noticed the leak as concrete was damp under washer?!!! How can it happen with old one then new?
Are you noticing the leak DIRECTLY (you actually see water coming from the washer), or just because the concrete is wet? I mean, perhaps it's not the WASHER itself, but maybe either the water connections TO it, or even a leak of a pipe buried UNDER the concrete? You said it is a new home.
@@dannichols6261 yes new built patio home on slab. However, someone did lol at it and said that it was the rubber foot just leaving imprint on concrete.

It’s time to start fixing these appliances when I can! My niece goes through washers & dryers like none other!!! She puts too many clothes in washing machines!!!?!?!!!🤔😤🙄
Mine is only leaking when using it in the large load setting. I first thought it was the drain pipe but it is open and I have replaced it with a larger pipe . Tired of this mess .
Very helpful, but too fast-paced for me. The presenter speaks quickly and many closeup shots of parts are shown so briefly that it's hard to orient oneself to where inside the machine the parts are located. Sure, I can pause and rewind but I don't think I should have to do so.
Thank you so much! I've been dicking around with this Samsung pos for 2 days now. Has to be the drain pump. The entire machine, other than just below the pump is bone dry. But the pump also seems to be dry until it's tipped, and that water could've come from the puddle underneath it. This washer is only 4 years old, and the mount screws literally fell out of the pump mount while trying to get it out. I will never give Samsung another dime. This may have just pushed me over to Apple. Never again.
Marco Reyes, I took it apart, cleaned it up, put a piece of electrical tape around the hose that goes into the water flow area, put it back together and it works great
Marco Reyes I got it fixed. It was dripping water into the tub when it was turned off. It’s not doing it anymore after I put tape around the hose and then put the clamp on it. It’s an old machine and I expected to foul out soon but whatever I did fixed it
