    Great VIDEO - WOW - quickly go through what could go wrong. In our case, it was the cold water inlet valve (the one with three connections). The top right solenoid had discoloration and slight warping at the top - sure enough it leaked quite bad during operation. Just ordered the OEM version from Amazon about $23 - Thanks again for this instructional video!

    Hey, I just wanted to extend my gratitude and appreciation for this video. My LG was leaking for about 2 wks (it’s only 5 yrs old-possibly less than), and I like to fix things myself as a single woman with Zero knowledge on fixing these types of issues. After watching this video, to determine the source of the leak, this video was EXACTLY what I needed. I followed your vid and found my leak from the part where you tapped your finger. I went to my local plumbing store with the part and I gave them the serial number of my washing machine and they ordered a new part. It was approximately $56. Canadian and I came home and installed it. I ran a cycle, and I am happy to say the leak is gone. I do most of my fixes off of TH-cam videos and yours was perfect. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤

    Very well done. I pulled the washer out from its cubby and took the back off, then puzzled over how the top came off, but I could see that it was designed to open somehow. Then my wife said, “aren’t you going to watch TH-cam on this?” …Hmmm. Well Yeah !!! Your video came up first. We’ve had the washer off for a few weeks but I see water stains on the cold water valve. SO the problem I had with my big LG Front Loader (with the sliding lid and washing powder left and bleach and softener right on top) was that my daughter loves to use excessive softener, which at the end led to the drain from teh softerner becoming plugged by this gooey gel-like substance. Same symptom, lots of water under teh machine, and dripping from the front. Luckily I diagnose without assembly. Fixed it with 15% vinegar and baking soda to get the pipe unplugged, followed by a hot water flush into the little orifice using a 1/4" fridge hose and ice maker adapter..... Result: Better then new.

    Can you tell me why the tube from "Y" tube conector to steam port on my LG WM3470HVA front load washer swells and leaks at the connector? It seems like there is a build up of pressure in the tube and it causes a spray at the "Y" connector. There are a series of tubes that make up that singe line with a bunch of connectors with orange and blue colored check valve or screens in the series of tubes. I tried blowing through the tube and only a little air would go through. The tube leads to the front part of the washer drum. Can't find anything about it online. HELP

      Does the steam feature still work?

    • @gpthedj1
      @gpthedj1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unable to tell. This model doesn't have a steam generator like the others. It seem like when its time for the steam to kick in is when the hose swells like a ballon and cause the spray leak at the connector. Is there a way to tell if the steam is actually working? My wife uses the machine all the time, I'm just called in to fix it when it when something goes wrong. LOL Replaced inlet valve which was leaking prior to this problem. Seems as if this happened after I replaced the inlet valve but not sure. I have fixed everything so far except this problem. It's the big tube coming from the "Y" connector.

    I am having this problem. I checked the door, the rubber gasket, and the inlet valve. All are dry. The leak seems to be coming from bottom right front. Any ideas or is this something for a pro?

      Can you tilt it back against the wall at 45 degrees and look through the large hole in the bottom panel to look for wet spots ?

      @@QuickAndEasy5MinuteAppliance you are correct. It was a water line connection. We didn't see it in any video. We my husband found and fixed the problem. But, it was helpful to watch your video as well, now we know the inlets valves are ok 😊

    I have one for you... A nickel made it past the drum and got lodged between the drum and plastic drum housing. The drum beat it through the wall of the plastic housing creating a 4 inch crack that drains rather profusely while doing any washing! Disassembly/reassembly costs would be about $10,000 LOL! plus parts and tax...

    3:30 Hot side more Prone to LEAK... from the (Heating), the parts when in use "expands" them to then the parts of valve being (Cooled) idle state or not in use "Decreases" size of parts, over and over with Time parts fail "wear out" quicker vs parts operating at a consistent temp 100% of the time. I have the washer machine and is leaking water to inside the drum. The technician replaced the draining pump but it did not work. After a few days, i opened the washer door and it was full of water. What could be the problem?

      It could be the inlet valve not turning off , that’s where the outside hose and the hose inside the machine meet

    The hot one leaks more because it gets hottttt 😂 lol. That’s why it fails because of the heat. Heat destroys.

      I live in SE PA. I was able to fix it today by draining the filter down front. I already knew about that technique but I thought I had done it recently. A lot of water came out. So far, I have done four loads with no problems. I am, however using much less of the “he” detergent.
