Whereas the Mustang and Camero have sorta turned into sports cars, this Challenger is still a muscle car/GT car. It looks, sounds and drives like nothing else on the road. Gotta give FCA credit for building something like this! It's pretty cool.

This is the right comparison. The Challenger is really the only muscle car left. The wide body is a huge improvement for these cars. They don't have enough rear tire in narrow body trim which makes them look like crap from the back.
Dodge had a sports car called the Viper but, these new dodge fans like four door crap and only want heavy ass vehicles. Shout out to my real sports cars guys owning the Viper!!!! Hellcat my ass. Smh I’m glad Chevy is doing the corvette the right way. Poor Dodge they making money on these fools buying these heavy ass car that hasn’t changed in the last couple of years.

Their color selection is amazing. The B5 Blue, the Octane Red, the F8 green, the Destroyer Grey, the Plum Crazy, and the Indigo Blue all look amazing!! Honestly, i would be satisfied with either one of those colors as long as the car has black wheels and a nice tint job.

I sold my 2010 4lt Corvette GrandSport for a Charger 392 and I have to say I'm very pleased with my decision.
I was at a concert in Portland and I was driving by like "that's a sweet new Challenger", then I see this. Can't believe I missed them haha

I'm driving a friends 2019 scat pack charger for the week down in FL. I gotta say that this car is the most bang for the buck. Keep in mind that well equipped, it's going to be a lot more than $40k...

Great to see this much needed refresh. Curious how the new Challenger will be styled for 2020. I drive a ZL1 1LE myself but I do like the GT350 and Hellcats. They're great at straight line performance.

I seen a few head cam scatpacks and i say i was shocked low 11s at 122 to 124mph those are hellcat numbers but a stock slow hellcat so a 392 is actually a good value
I'd say it's more like an SRT without the magnetic ride suspension and badges.
Mustang guy here....but that purple scat pack is cool. Love the bee on the dash and how is scats away...pretty f'ng cool.
Destroyer Grey and Indigo Blue are the two best colours on this beast
indigo very underrated. I have a Chevy SS ('17) in Slipstream Blue. I hated blue cars before that one but I still want a Challenger! I've been a miser my whole work life and at 57, I'm thinking (incredibly) about buying Challenger WITHOUT selling beloved SS! If I take such a plunge, I can't get two blues...or can I? I love that green though and the purple hot, too.
How does it compare to a 2018 scat pack 392 TA With the full suspension?
The 0-60 on the 1320 is faster than the manual Hellcat. Pretty mind blowing to say the least, 3.7 vs 3.9. Another thing, the widebody is NOT under 40k! A base model cloth seats scat pack is under 40k. There are 0 bare bones scat packs on the dealer lots. If u want one for 39k brand new you have to build and order it yourself, otherwise youll spend 50k easy

Thank you guys for the video. I am getting my challenger next year for my 40th birthday. I was curious about the new scat pack because I was in love with the SRT 392. They will give you 392 options but its still just a scat pack with the same badges and steering wheel. So thanks for the video. I will look for a left over or used SRT 392 or a left over Scatpack.
That's the best strategy if you don't care about the wide body option...Besides you an always do after market suspension mods later without killing the warranty

Thanks for the video. I just traded my 2017 Ford Mustang V6 for a 2018 Dodge Challenger R/T 392 Scatpack with a 6 speed Tremec - it's a hell of a car! In terms of Mustangs, it's on the same level as Mustang GT 350, for a whole bunch less money!
Very informative video but would love to hear that engineer from Dodge compare the new Scat Pack widebody suspension to the active suspension on my SRT 392 tho.

Rear seat delete costs $1 and kids love playing in empty boxes; throw an empty box back there for them, they will have the time of their lives, and some badass stories to tell their grandchildren.

I have a 2017 sxt and you can easily fit larger adults in the 2 bucket seats in the rear, but there's ample room for my 2 kids back there with their backpacks and stuff

I had a 2019 B5 scat pack wide body for 3 months. I traded for a 2018 wide body hellcat. I pick it up this Thursday.
That plum crazy purple is still the best color
I actually think I might look into buying one of these, big fan of the hell cat look without the hell cat price and the wide body is a huge bonus.

"Reserve grip at the rear" is Engineer speak for "we made it understeer more".
More roll stiffness up front with the same/softer setup at the rear = understeer.
I guess if you like the front end to plow relentlessly this is fine. It's also good for the FCA lawyers as it will help keep weekend track warriors who don't know what they're doing from looping it into a wall when they lose the rear end.
What do you guys think of the new wheels? I am partial to the old Hellcat wheels.
I was on the fence between Mustang GT and Scat Pack. The GT cost a lot less than the Wide Body but...I already had 3 GT's since 2006. Time for a change. No regrets. 2021, 6 spd Shaker, WB, Triple Nickle.

I had a 2012 challenger R/T in white with black stripes. It looked good but didnt have any balls coming from my 2006 Pontiac gto.. now with kids sports cars are gone and I have a 13 Ram hemi and a 15 Durango limited. Didnt plan on it but fell in love with dodge

What road course is that? I didn't know there were any in New Hampshire. It's in a very picturesque setting, but looks like it has short straights.

I have a 2021 Challenger Scat Pack Widebody T/A edition in Gold Rush. I bought it with 3,000 miles on it, and only put another 250 so far. It is a beautiful car and handles like it is on rails with everything in Street Mode except the steering, which is in Sport Mode. I have yet to push it harder as I'm driving on back country roads that are somewhat traveled and populated, so I keep the speed within reason. The previous owner had an aftermarket AWE Track Edition exhaust that really makes the car look and sound even more aggressive while adding around 15hp and 12ft lbs of torque. I haven't had it dynoed, and I'm guessing nothing was done as far as tuning the car(I hope) so the factory warranty should still be intact. He also ordered it with the Stripe Delete and Spare Tire Delete for the upgraded Harmon Kardon system with the amp and subwoofer that sit right where the spare would've gone. All in all, I am very happy with my new to me Challenger.
The Challys aren't available with spare tires in the Brembo models. It doesn't fit in the space where the stereo is.
1:15 Widebody, but with *All Season Tires* from factory? Please tell me there's a way to option it with Summers instead.
I'm sure a lot of people who care about the track benefits of the widebody would rather order it with Summers instead!
Yeah that would suck, but a good set of Michelin summer tyres would only be 1000~$. But what do I know, im just a kid in college with no license lol. And this might be a good thing, since alot of people don't seem to know that winter tyres exist.
Summer tires are an option. that's how I ordered mine.

I like the 392..i got the scat charger myself. I chose it over the hellcat cuz I'm not a huge fan of forced induction. I bet the 392 naturally aspirated will last longer than supercharged engine...plus the 1st 5 gears are quicker than the hellcat.

Comfort (and space) is one of the best features of a Challenger vs something like a Mustang or Camaro. Not sure what the new suspension tuning is going to do to the street comfort of the Widebody Scat Pack, but I suspect it'll still be pretty tolerable.
Sounds fine, how about wind and tire noise?
It's a beautiful ride, comfortable for long trips. And fun af!

I spoke to a couple of guys that own the 485 horse cars....both had them dyno'd. One was "in" at 530 horses and the other was 524. Both were 2017's
Interesting.....I wonder if Mopar purposefully degraded the ratings for insurance reasons, like what was done in the 60's and early 70's.
I think after having owning both cars now, I would say if you are just going to be daily driving and not going to the track, you are better off with the Scat Pack and saving a little money even though it is nice to have that badge on the car. A Scat Pack set properly ran run pretty close to what you can do with your Hellcat you got right off the dealer lot on standard suburban pavement (aside from.a roll race), but if you are ever going to see a prepped surface at a track? Different story. The Hellcats, Super stocks and Demons should be purchased with the expectation of going to the track every once in a while. .
