    It's all about how the car makes you feel . I had the first edition 2008 Challenger SRT8 and I loved it. I am a big guy and the seats are very comfortable. I was too young in the late sixties to own one of the first Challengers but loved the design.
    It's ok to be a kid no matter how old you are 😉 ! The Hellcat is too much
    engine . He is right . Relax and enjoy
    this car . It's a stress reducer .Great tunes makes the experience fantastic!

    Thank You. I leased the 2018 R/T Plus Shaker, which has 5.6L engine, 375HP, 6 speed manual. I was shocked on my test drive that as wide as I am I was comfortable driving it. Getting in and out is still not exactly effortless, but well worth it. I love watching most any video about this car because it's the next best thing to driving it. I just hate the videos that complain it's not fast enough. If you still need to race someone on the streets than you have other issues. I still am amazed at the beautiful sound of the stock exhaust system. Saved money there. In 2 more years I can move up to the wide body. Amazingly, the entree level GT starts at 23K. Talk about a chick magnet (do they still say that) for a first car? Wow. With an all-wheel drive option. That cruse you talk keeping it in 3rd gear longer is music to my ears. Thank You.

    Great review ! Scat Packs are the perfect street muscle car IMO, and I get 21 mpg in ECO Mode, but not in any other...lol I prefer narrow body, I have the 2021 Scat Challenger with the TF Auto tranny. After years in an RT Shaker, it was time to upgrade,. now I am very happy with the 392 performance street muscle. I don't feel the need to Mod like I did in the 5.7, I can run in the 11s with my Drag Pak, which is fast enough for me.
    Reviewers bash the interior forgetting that this is a muscle car, not a luxury cruiser..

  • @marklawson729
    @marklawson729 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You are right on point about Dodge and the personality of their cars. They are unabashedly North American culture-mobiles (to shout out to our Canadian brothers). My favorite thing about the Challenger and Charger (I have both) is that they retain a sense of humor and fun. You can drag respectably in a 1320, scare people on the track with the Widebody, and have the best looking stock engine bay with the T/A, or go over-the-top in the Hellcat and family. All of them get attention on Cruise Night. Dodge succeeds because they don't take themselves too seriously. These are the cars that I drew pictures of on the back of my math homework in 4th grade. I don't care if they are built on an old Mercedes-derived frame, or that they are owned by Fiat. They get it. I like large expanses of sheet metal that go fast. These are perfect for driving those big American highways. That's why I'm a fan.

      @@BuRn928 the Scat Pack handles really nicely. It's soft and soaks up the broken canyon pavement well, with a relatively neutral balance. Just a correction, it does have the skip shift lockout because that is the exact behavior you get when one is present. It will force you from 1st to 4th to save gas. Rather annoying which is why if I get one of these Challengers I am leaning 8 speed auto which is a really good one. I test drove both the 5.7 and also the 6.4 with the manual and both cars had the same behavior when plodding around town so it was not unique to your car.

Oil changes are not bad if you do them yourself around $60 but the dealer will charge around $80-100 full synthetic. Dodge sends you coupons for oil changes that are right in line if you do it yourself. Build quality is very good . I like the cloth seats better than the leather. Great material. Does it? Couldn't find any sort of official literature from Dodge about this. Felt exactly like the skip shift in GM products, but unlike those cars, the Challenger didn't have any sort of notice or prompt indicating that's what was happening. Was really my only complaint with the 6-speed.

      It roars from factory can be heard blocks away in sport and track custom or auto does not open up exhaust valves fully unless under full throttle and you can feel the difference with the clutch too drop the mid mufflers and it will scream pop gurgle after about 3 months it will be almost as deep as factory break in period mine backfired so loud the other day I had to get out and make sure nothing was not broken😂
