    Ctrl + R = loop cuts
    Scroll wheel to increase decrease no. of cuts
    Quick tip:
    First go in side view with orthographic view, then make enough loop cuts so that every faces on side is a square (doesn't has to be perfect)

    This tutorial is fantastic! I did have to delete the top/bottom of the cylinder to not have walls in between the mirrored cylinder, not seeing that I missed a step, but it was easy enough to sort through. A few times you have used a plain white diffuse color on an object material and get your color from the lighting -- I dig it man. Also great continued uses of those displacement map object texture coordinates.

    At 8:57 you seem to have a glossy effect. Could you tell me how you got that?

    • @fancygoat1352
      @fancygoat1352 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      THE MIDNIGHT ILLUSTRATOR - Hey if you still wondering how he got this glossy effect, I think I found a solution. Go to the shader nodes. In between the principled BSDF node, and the material output node, put a mix shader node. Drag a link from the principled BSDF node to a shader slot in the mix shader node. Have the output shader link to the material output surface slot. For the other shader slot in the mix shader node, create another mix shader node, and link the output of that new node to the input of the other mix shader node. Then create a Glossy BSDF node, and drag a link to a shader slot of that new node. Repeat with a diffuse node. After that, create a Fresnel node, and connect the Fac output to the Fac input of the same mix shader node. Finally, adjust the roughness of the gloss shader (I like ~.138) and the diffuse shader (I like it at 1), and adjust the IOR of the fresnel node (I like .650). Anyways, I hope this helps! I had to find this way, but if anyone else has a better solution just let me know!

      -First I put the lights with exactly the same color used in the video, the exactly Power settings which was measured in Watts and in the video in Energy. I discovered that 0.310 of Energy it's like 310W.
      -After have the same light i could see the settings of the Render.
      -In Color Manegement the default settings was: Display Device - sRGB, View Transform - Film, Look - None, Exposure 0.000, Gamma 1.000, Sequencer - sRGB. I changed it to Display Device - sRGB, View Transform - Standard, Look - None, Exposure -2.300, Gamma 0.710, Sequencer - sRGB. And I solved it!
      -Then You can adjust a lot the look in the Shader Editor
      PD: Play with the Exposure and Gamma to have a more exactly look.

    Every time I render this and put the clips side my side in premier it doesn't loop correctly... when I render it at the same frames as you the final video (detected by premier) is only 4:22 instead of 5:00

    Have you looked at doing motion tracking? I started a project and thought you might like it

      Majorkamo Not really, I’ve done it once or twice in after effects but I’ve never really needed it in any of my projects

      @@StudiosMurphy Delete both ends faces, I did that and It was fixed. Just go to edit mode and select both end faces and by pressing "X" delete those two faces.

    I made sure that my interpolation was set to linear, but every time i play the animation it starts slow and speeds up to the end. I guess the interpolation is working, because it starts immediately, but i dont know what i did. Any suggestions?

    K, I have no idea what those planes do that the grid doesn't, but for me those planes seriously screwed up my renderings! I had a bizarre seam going on and couldn't figure out what the hell was going on until I hid one of the planes and everything looked way better. So I just deleted the planes. He makes it sound like they're needed for alignment of things, but everything he does for that lines up with the grid and has nothing to do with the planes that I could tell.
