Hi i am having a crisis in this I stream retro games MMOS and ps4 games too and ps4. I now don't know if i'm doing something bad because i enjoy all those types of content so much that i feel so strongly i don't know if i could say no to that. The one thing i get is for instance odintv gaming who is also a streamer is a streamer of fortnite primarily and his viewers know that. I lately admit haven't been following these tips as much as i probably should i been streaming 6 hours a day for 7 days a week and been at the bottom with no goal just stream for 6 hours and what happens happens with not much thought. It's been pretty bad where i fail even on dura which is a MMO and usually MMO are hit days but been shit days. I have been ignoring the numbers on days where i play equinox and if i enjoy the game i keep playing if i don't i stop because my rule was i have to be happy about what i'm doing otherwise i should probably not do that as its just going to hurt me. I have a major issue because i play 2 different MMOS a lot of retro and also modern day stuff and sometimes people try to coax me to play things like cod that i'm really REALLY not into. There are certain things i know i don't want to do such as cod modern warfare 2 etc etc and fornite. I played fornite but i wasn't into it and not really motivated.
my audience has been actually growing this past year, no doubt thanks to some of these videos. I chose a very odd niche but I seem to be actually finding people for it
My husband and I started streaming end of July and we hit affiliate rather quickly thanks to our friends who stream and your advice, so thank you for that!
I’ve actually grown so much in the past two months since I have started watching your videos! I use your zoom in and out technique to make things more epic when I die or get excited! My viewers love seeing me just be me! Because they love my vibes and that’s all that matters. They want my vibes. My energy.
Thanks! I started watching not so long ago. Working hard to get my new channel started soon. I'm as excited as I am nervous, but the drive (and @eljayem_) are helping me push through and achieve my goals
I’d like a community that comes to hang out, chit chat, play some games, joke around and escape the world for a little while. I always watch streamers to escape for a little while so would like to think that my chaotic cosy little stream could be that place for someone else. Happy for them to chat or lurk whatever best for them. My audience like a bit of variety, they want to just chill and watch some gameplay and forget the world. I think streamers like me would be Rumbledust or NoHistoryGaming people who are community focused and just create that space for viewers to relax, escape, chill, chat or lurk. I think I’m already heading that way, I’m only on my 8th stream and my community have been saying I should do a horror charity stream as they’ve realised I’m terrified of horror and mentioned a goal of mine was to do a charity stream. I’ve only been streaming for two weeks but I think I’m already working towards this with each stream. I’ve been watching your videos for a while and videos like this has been helping me so much.
That's almost word for word what I would like from my community when I start streaming. I'm working hard to get started and achieve that. I also want to be able to do a charity stream in the future
This video was honestly pretty awesome. Having that kind of structure will create consistently with your audience and can only help. I am taking all of this to heart and will be working much harder going forward. Thank you for this❤️
• I want people alike myself to watch 13-18+ yrs - active - immersed - i want them to feel comfortable • streamers like kai, silky, have viewers I aspire to have . They react, listen to music, and play games • what makes me special is that I choose to be authentic and actually would love to become personal with my viewers
Love it! Great start! Remember the more specific you can get the better! I think the "what makes me special" part might need something extra as well, everyone is trying to be authentic but we need to think about what is going to make them click you over the person next to you. Titles, thumbnails, etc, etc. You got this, CrayRae! :) #earlygang
After hearing over 30 tips from you, I have made a plan. I have decided what type of content I will stream and am making preparations for my first stream. I have learned so many things and I think I am ready to get my mic, get my game launched and hit "start streaming." Thank you so much for the tips! I will try my best to apply them!
Aim for a audience of: •members that appreciate analytical commentary and gameplay •curious thinkers with open minds •peaceful and unifying members supporting and helping each other •people wanting a place to get away and get some wisdom, hope and people advice. ••A place where they have me to talk to if they really need someone to listen to them and understand them. Or constructive/unbiased feedback. That’s all that matters to me for now til I’m ready to upgrade myself, my setup and stream. Sassy
SASSY video. Thanks for all your awesome advice, I'm following your suggestions as much as possible, and now I'm slowly but surely starting to grow. Keep up the great work, and thank you again!
Please enjoy this very sassy commemorative #100%crew badge! It's made of one giant carved diamond! hahaha Glad to hear it’s going well, keep it up mate :)
I love your videos and when people ask how I started I always direct them here. I wrote the answers in a notebook I keep with me for topics (from a different video of yours) and I want to say thank you for making this content it has really helped me with streaming these past couple months since I’ve started. Also SASSY!!
I agree a 100% with all you said, content creating is not about you is about the people you are giving the content! I got your channel a few days ago because I got into streaming after many years of giving it laps, today is my third day of streaming and I cannot be more excited! You have given me many things and tools and I know this is always a learning process. Thank you for everything my man.... OH ah.. sassy comment.. um.. I knew all of this before you were even born my dude, nooooothing special hahaha!
I think you hit the nail on the head with your final point. Many of the people who are successful without doing these things have either been on the platform for an incredibly long time or built up an audience for themselves on another platform. Many of the things you mention here aren't just things that will HELP you build a channel from scratch, they're a borderline NECESSITY. In terms of my desired audience: -Constantly engaged from the beginning to the end of stream -Actively chatting with me and the rest of chat -Enjoying my content so much that they'll trust me to entertain them with whatever I do
I should’ve mentioned the age rule as well! I always have people reference creators as reasons a tip won’t work or is wrong… but the creators tend to have been creating content for 5 - 6 years! Hope the video helped mate! You have a few ideas about what activity you want from your audience, now to figure out what games/hobbies they enjoy, and how you’ll appeal to them or have them discover you! Keep it up, Markii! :)
I have nothing sassy to say, these are good reminders! I paused with a pen and paper throughout! One of my favourite tips I got on TH-cam was that just because you have a target audience, doesn't mean other types of people won't overlap with that and still be interested. That said, my audience has shifted from when I first started creating content, from late teens to early twenties aspiring to create, now to mid-twenties to early thirties, fellow creative folks working on their passion projects. Thanks again for the video - it's given me ideas for what to focus on this month! I'm close to my next emote slot, so I might gift a sub if I lose in the next community stream my server voted for.
Some really good points, Jamie! Hope the video helped! :) Good luck with the new emote slot! And of course, Please enjoy this very sassy commemorative #100%crew badge! It's made of one giant carved diamond! hahaha
oh, and my chat is still just about at a pace where I can read and respond to everything, but I'm totally happy with people working and lurking. Especially if I get to see their progress!
Such a good video, and tough love for streamer so know this is "work" not just playing games. Thinking ahead is a big part of doing well, great sassy tips!
Sassy! Definitely good questions, I would need more time to answer these! For me, I would love to have an audience that enjoys interaction, I adore interacting with people and I tend to talk alot because I love sharing whatever knowledge I have on the game itself and even topics that were brought up during the stream. I tend to put what the aim/goal of the stream in my title! 💖 It is also helpful for me track my progress in the story as well and time management.
Enjoy this VERY sassy #100%Crew Badge! Made of solid Sass! 💁♂️ I think you've come up with how you want your audience to watch, and engage but you haven't outlined WHO they are, and what they like. What types of games do they watch or play, do they like certain hobbies or genres, how old are they, etc. You'll be able to do much more if you figure out an idea of who rather than what you want from them : ) Hope this helps, Kukichu! You got this!
Hey! Thanks to your advice from other videos I have almost 50 followers within my first month of streaming! Thank you SO MUCH for the inspiration. I love streaming a lot now and I love interacting with my new community. I would definitely recommend these videos to anyone planning to start streaming and I would encourage others to start streaming. It is a lot of fun and I am absolutely in love with streaming now. Thanks eljayem!
I'm a new streamer but it kinda baffles me that people don't put thought into who their target audience is. As a Vtuber my target audience didn't stop at influencing the content i created but my character design as well. Thanks so much for making these videos i really appreciate the thoughtful questions you ask that make me reevaluate my content to see if i am doing this already of if i need a slight adjustment.
I think it is important to remember that marketing and general content creation looks so different from the outside. It just looks like someone sat there gaming or chatting, which seems so... easy? But you're right it is incredibly complex, and difficult!
Sassy. This is a really great video explaining how you need to alter your perception of your own content. It's like 'Yeah, do content you enjoy and are having fun with, who cares about what your viewers think." However, overall, if you are looking to make it a career, you need to think about your consumer and how they perceive your content against their needs.
I want an audience that engages with me and responds to my questions, or input on different subjects, subsequently answering deep questions in between hardcore competitive content.
Feels like awhile since I commented in this channel but I've still been watching. *Always watching wazowski*. And once again another tip I was just looking for! *SASSY*
Appreciate your tips eljay! Last nights stream was our best yet. Views were a little low but total watch time, avg watch time, concurrent and avg viewers were all at an all time high! Keep up the great work and have an amazing day :D
I'd want people who watch me to be really wholesome, welcoming to new viewers and active on chat, tho i don't mind them lurking when they're busy because its a huge thing for a smoll streamer that they're lurking on your stream while they're busy doing their work and i'd appreciate it so much!! i watch your videos when im free and every video i watch encourages me to do more and make better content for the people that already watch me and i thank you so much for that! you helped me take my first step by your vids just like you did so to i bet more than hunder thousands of people!! so thank you so much for making such content to help us smoll streamers out!!!
Took a few days to think about it but I think I got my answer here (was going to break it down to 4 person but didnt have the time): Target Audience demography: 20-30s young adults who live in either Australia, SE Asia, or East Asia. Their interest will consist of some or one: Travel, video games, tech, movies, anime, playing or consuming music Their worries: Work pressure, social status, environmental concerns, their future. Their Interest: Wanna to chill out after work or school, learn some new tips and tricks of their game they're into, some social interaction when they cant meet their friends on a weekday, be interested in learning some cool historical event they might not heard of, discovering fun facts or discussing of interesting trivia topics What value I can give them: Entertain them by being bad in some games and making dumb jokes, make funny tutorial videos on TH-cam, share my travel stories and history of the countries I learned, share some interesting topic I just researched or listened to a podcast for, play chilled or lofi music in the background, stories on my life experiences and advise
If Content Creation was easy then everyone would be massive :) It takes hard work, smart strategies, but most importantly to always focus on improving yourself and your content.
@@ShopperKungVtuber That's like saying you want to be a doctor but don't have the required skills. You have to work for it, no one is just going to hand you a diploma and job. Content creation takes work, dedication and time. I'm a very positive content creator and I want to say I believe in you but if YOU don't believe in yourself first then how do you expect others to come and believe in you.
Hey man! So ice created every single thing on the channel myself. Working on my stream 24/7.. ive gotten 70 followers and 28 subs within the last couple of days. And before that it was going really slow so overall im pretty satisfied but being me i have to upgrade almost every time for myself and do things like adding a counter. Ive been stuck with this for 2 days now and i was wondering maybe you have a good explanation video for it!? Love to see that since you are spot on and more experienced! Thanks for any response in advance! Oh and almost forgot to say but this video is also very spot on alot of the things i honestly figured out or was kinda doing already but its always good to see some similar thinking of somebody with alot more experience! So also thanks for taking the time once again to explain to anyone what is best to do
What types of games do these viewers want to watch? What do they enjoy in their spare time? What are they searching for on Twitch? These are all questions that will help you make decisions to find those communities :) And of course! Please enjoy this commemorative #100%crew badge! It's made of one giant carved diamond!
@@StreamScheme I'm thinking that stardew valley will bring in nice viewers since it's such a comfy game, and also great for streaming discoverability. I'm currently playing through hollow knight first, but I'm almost done with it so I'll see how stardew goes soon! Thanks for the questions, they're really helpful.
My Audience Goals: (Been Streaming since 2016 / 2017 playing mecha games) - Playing games to a casual non hardcore audience - Using mech builds (or teams) that are not the cream of the crop - Having fun using while using underwhelming characters or builds in game (win or lose!) - Ultimate goal is branch to games that have some RPG fantasy elements as well. Trying that now in Genshin Impact.
It's interesting, I've always thought of Mech Gamers to be fairly hardcore gamers with min maxing, and a lot of strategy but I think that's because I just suck at BattleTech hahaha Keep working on finding that audience, figuring out what they want, and how they'll find you! Good luck, Larsh! :) Hope the videos help!
@@StreamScheme Thanks for all the videos and tips! I took a break from 2020, so I'm rebuilding my audience again from the slight loss I took. Min maxing is fun, but its even better when you take a mash up build of something that shouldn't work, and you somehow make it work :)
I want a chill chat that's active, engaged, doesn't take themselves too seriously, and easy to joke around with. I love it when I get to crack jokes about my gameplay or something goofy happening in the game and having someone in chat making one of their own. We end up bouncing jokes off each other and its such a fun time.
1. Audience mid/late 20's up to late 30's. Engaged in chat dont mind shy lurkers. 2. Audence that enjoys casual gameplay, but also like a thrill of a pre-set challenge. They enjoy, FPS, 3rd person adventure/shooter games. 3. Who has an audience like that? not sure, watched your Minecraft stream where U talked about P plate driver and ... elec bike, youre good man, your chat was 🔥 I like your ideas, Ive been making notes and matching stuff to it. Just need to piece it all together. Thank you m8 🤙
So, I had to take a little bit of a break from streaming due to some personal matters and I wanted to make a very strong comeback and kick it back into gear, came across your videos and I am so glad I did. I love your blunt honesty and tips to becoming a better streamer. Thank you for every single thing that you do!
I'm going to start streaming in a few days, and I'm looking around for things to establish now instead of fix later. You have been so much help and I have a feeling you will also be a lot of help to me for a while. Thank you for your down to earth and helpful content! (Also sassy)
Sassy! I've been watching your videos and absorbing as much as I can since I started streaming more seriously the last few months. I gotta say the part of this video I loved most was the brutal honesty at the end- "well, I'm not as talented as they are so I have to work harder." Thanks for all the advice you give in your videos
I want to chat with people, engage with their journeys and make them a part of my team by uplifting them. That content writes itself. My problems are CTA, announcements, and eventing. You always give me something to think about. Thanks Stream Scheme
Wellp, I'm a Brazilian streamer, we are the "country of the memes", and what I want is people who laughs of my dumb jokes (they are really bad). I'm very bad at every single game, so my slogan is: "So much fun, so poor gameplay", and that's true. I've been streaming for a month now and just reached the 5 viewers avg, IDK how to keep growing but I'm trying to learn with your videos, thanks "É o Jay" (that's how I call you)
@@StreamScheme I'm trying. Sometimes I get people within another vibe, like: "oh, why do you keep making jokes? just play the game", but that's fine, I don't want to change my style.
My answers: -I want an audience like RTGame's. A good, inviting and accepting community that enjoys sticking around, and discovering new games. Whether they lurk or not doesn't matter too much. -The majority of my audience tends to watch Friday Night Funkin'. Some of them do come back for other games, which is nice to see. -Again, RTGame has an audience that I love, and I'm hoping to have a similar audience. He makes a lot of well-placed jokes and holds community events. He also has moderators to stop the toxic trolls. Edit: Sassy
These are some really interesting points you brought up, and some of them I can't even answer for myself, which is GOOD because I have some thinking and planning to do! Why should people stay? What makes my streams special? I literally have no idea! I'm surprised with how little I can critically think about my streams, that I somehow have 15-20 average viewers and an established demographic I intend on keeping (25 - 40+ years). BUT, I believe once I can start planning out content and be able to answer these questions - I should be able to grow more, which would be great. I've waffled a bit with content and that hurt my numbers - but I fully intend on coming back to focus on retro gaming because that category has a good pocket of like-minded, chill people like myself. Anyway, thanks for all of your videos - they have been an immense help.
I stream the sims, and its kind of split three ways: those who pop into streams and lurk as they are doing their own gameplay, those who watch for chaos, and those who could go either way depending on their mood (we simmers can be a weird bunch). I have a Chaos Wheel that viewers can redeem every fifteen minutes. It contains actions that will make things a bit more difficult, such as having my sim adopt a pet, lowering one of their skills a level, cutting their household funds in half, amongst others. I mention the wheel in my stream title, but I need to figure out a way to make myself standout more.
Sassy! I love this formula. I'm going to implement it immediately. I already have goals for the games I play, so this should be pretty easy. Thanks LJ! I'll mention you in my videos. 😀 Keep up the great work and thanks for all help!
My biggest thing when it comes to my streams is i try to never stop talking, i want people to stay engaged and to keep hearing me because that's who they're here for (right?) Lmaoooo but i love these videos and that's why i subscribed, hopefully I'll create my own community soon as well and share my experiences with everyone (as well as building the youtube channel)
Sassy! I only just started streaming (only 13 followers, and I can still count on my fingers the number of times I've been live lol) but your videos have helped a lot! I'm not trying to "make it big" as a streamer -- I have no intention of ever trying to turn it into my primary job, or even make Partner for that matter (though I would like to get to Affiliate, mostly for the community-building tools/perks that come with it) -- but that being said I still want to make my streams the best they can be for my community, so I really appreciate all useful info from this channel! As for my target audience... When I watch other streamers I'm always the most engaged when there's some form of on-going story (e.g. the more immersive world-building games, or RPGs with a heavier focus on the roleplay aspects & interactions). I get pulled into the lore super easily, and then I end up never wanting to miss a stream because I feel invested in the tale and the "characters". That's mostly how I game, too. My favorites games are always the ones that let me sort of lose myself in another world for a while, so my ideal audience would be one that's eager to delve into that story with me and talk about it, while also having fun discovering what sorts of weird/interesting things we can do in this world, and occasionally getting side-tracked exploring stuff just because we can lol. (Why yes Skyrim is a favorite of mine, however did you guess? 😂) I can definitely see now why you said to write that down -- just the writing it part really helped! Thanks again for all the tips and helpful info!
Oh boy am I feeling SASSY 👹 super great tips in here, it helps when some one really lays it all out there for you. Thank you so much for helping me keep my content fresh and not letting me go down terrible rabbit holes. You the real mvp
sassy! Thanks again for all the content you create, I'm working really hard on implementing as many of your tips as possible, long process but it's slowly coming along!
your videos are always so helpful. I have a mix of younger and older viewers, usually its people that want to play games with me and that's amazing. I do giveaways on games like adopt me they seem to really like that. They love killing me on ROBLOX shooters to which is also great fun for all of us. They love that I let them pick games we play :) I want to incorporate a game when the lol hits like group tetris or something equally as fun. All my streams are usually family friendly I always remind my viewers that younger viewers may be watching so use appropriate language. When i play more mature games i try to do it at a later time so that my younger viewers aren't upset that they cant watch. Most of the people that watch are new friends and some old friends. I welcome every member like you said and ask about their days, the most important bit is i remember them and try to recall what they've said previously so that they feel connected and to know they are important. I always give appreciation to everyone. I have a hard time setting goals but I'm going to work on it. I met some amazing streamers on twitch before i started streaming and most of them play similar games to myself. Only their age ranges are more mature than mine usually with exceptions. Sorry for the essay.
Sassy squad!!! You have briefly touched on this topic in other videos but it's awesome to get a full video on it! Your voice plays in my head when planning out a stream or creating titles 😂
Love the channel always great advice and I have to say ur best advice at least the one I know that keeps my stream down is keeping up my stream schedule
So what advice would you give somebody playing a game at the top of the skill ceiling? I play Destiny 2, and am a member of a clan with a few world's first placements. I feel like I can't stream other games often because of how much of a time commitment being one of the best players in Destiny 2 requires (and yes, I am objectively one of the best players in the game).
The absolute best advice is that sometimes being amazing at games doesn’t always mean you’re entertaining. It’s important to remember streams are usually entertainment value or information value. Another D2 streamer might be worse but much funnier or talks about the lore more to appeal to people and keep them engaged. Use your skill as a unique selling point, but make sure you work hard to go beyond that :)
A lightbulb went on for me when you said 'understand your viewers'. My niche is horror games but I always try to play down my reactions to jump scares because I don't want to look stupid, which is stupid because they are watching me to see me get jump scared *facepalm*. Thanks Eljay, sometimes the most obvious piece of advice is the most useful. #sassy
chill people creating a safe space, joke-y, fun, like a safe space, do whatever. ok with watching what i want to play, like a bit of messing around, just having fun. a few of the streamers that i watch already have communities like this. and by god those last two questions are hard.
Lol sassy. I had my first stream last night and nicknamed a character sassy. Your videos are pure gold and helped me go into my first stream feeling confident. My audience is women 30-40 who enjoy casual gaming (think Stardew), like reading, and crafting. They just want a relaxing night to hangout, lurk, and maybe knit while they watch and listen. This is me as well so I choose a game that fits this and has good visibility. I’m having fun and know my target audience will too.
I got affiliate by just jumping into streaming not knowing what im doing and learning along with my audience. I'm not a very organized person so thats just how i do things. I do really enjoy streaming and I will definitely try to incorporate some of your ideas because you know a lot more about streaming than I do and because my audience expects be to be a bit more professional now that ive gotten affiliate. Thanks for making these amazing tips videos, They really help and I will continue to watch them!!
Sassy! Thank you for always posting the videos. The content is always engaging and truly creates a think moment and call to action. This came at the perfect time for me and you are the reason I joined twitch in the first place. you were the first streamer I discovered through your youtube videos and welcomed me in from the moment i typed hello. Thank you!
Hey, you actually talked (albeit briefly) about streaming other stuff besides games! Nice! Wasn't expecting that at all, honestly. And yes, I watched the whole video. #sassy
I've been trying to be more inclusive lately, but it's hard to keep audiences clicking videos and watching when the majority are gamers! Hopefully this helped! Enjoy this VERY sassy #100%Crew Badge! Made of solid Sass! 💁♂️
Hey Eljay! Wanna say Ive been loving your videos and found you around March. Since then Ive been applying your tips and Ive seen some growth, I'll constantly review the notes I've taken and your videos to try and see maybe theres something I could do more of or if Im lacking somewhere. I know youre a busy person and I'm a complete stranger, would really like some advice on how to move forward when youre doing all you can to already improve your streams! Thank you once again for a great video and I hope youre staying safe and well! Cheers!
"Sassy"...! Yeah I've been thinking really hard lately how to refine my elevator pitch, thinking a lot about what sorts of things I tend to talk about on stream etc. It's hard because early on I am very experimental; I don't quite know yet what works best! But since I started thinking about this, I have noticed that I tend to muse a lot about game design, sound design, and the thoughts that might have gone into making a game (whether good or bad.) I also keep seeing people's cats on twitter and always have an impulse to comment on them, so I'm trying a "cat review" in some of my streams. So basically I trying to think of who wants to see Ochus streams- I think generally I am similar (ish) to other comedy vtubers like Pikamee, Mothy hime, Korone Inugami, and my audience would be people who want to see a vtuber play mostly console and indie games (especially platformers), commenting on the game design while being mostly comfy but occasionally yelly. Still need to think on this a lot more, but it's definitely good to keep in mind!
I love the cat review ideas! SO MUCH! Sounds like you've got the ball rolling, you got this! Keep thinking about how you can be discovered and what you can do to appeal to your audience! :) Enjoy this VERY sassy #100%Crew Badge! Made of solid Sass! 💁♂️
i love how you made the end like a sassy trailor lol great vid! even though im late to it lol but seriously you deserve to be at 1M subs by now youve done an amazing job and you should be proud of what youve created
but what you were saying about a list of people you wanna pertain to, ive been trying to think of that for literally months but the best i can come up with is i want people like me that just wanna know.... nothing specific in particular, but channels like modern rogue and the king of random i love those because they teach so mayn different things that just blow your mind without it needing to be in front of a chalkboard during a lecture. i want to be that person that everybody goes, "this guy has shown me so many things that i actually learned and love, not just went "cool" and forgot about it the next day and hes fun to interact with too"
people who want to engage with me and are around my age and community focused. my goal is to create a stream where anyone can go and relax or get pumped up and forget about that rough day at work. ive had those days everyone has had them. i want people to come in have fun and engage to disengage from having an entirely bad day. thank you for creating these videos it really helps me get my head on straight and keep my goals to the forefront.
I would say, people who enjoy who I am. Something I noticed with my viewers I have regulars, and most of the time as its late for me but not for them, they just quickly write a hello message and say they putting me on, in the background while working And I am honestly always honored when someone says that, because for me, that means they enjoy myself enough to have me there. I also noticed more people seem to be active during my art streams, as I can more talk about something else, without losing focus on the game. But most people don´t mind it.
what about some paradoxes like, what if I'm trying to improve in the game but my viewers want me to stay bad? or what if I want to create more interactions with people that my viewers tend to change/leave when there's new people? or times when you get viewers that only want to talk to you about what they want, but never acknowledges any one else in the chat? it becomes tough to balance putting out your niche content and making your niche demographic happy. are there any thoughts you have pertaining to a chat that starts telling you how to "dance for them"?
I think you're correct. - people want content creators. I started streaming just to play the games I like but haven't gotten anywhere sadly. Your video makes sense and it really helped me to back away from streaming altogether.
Great video again, I'm so glad I subscribed! I LOVE that your tips are actually applicable and actionable. • target audience: people around my age (20's), artists/art community, casual gamers, anime fans/vtubers, people who follow my art already • stream type: mostly chill streams, mix of entertainment (games) and education (art) • big streamers: Vtubers such as Ina, ChaiKitsu • why click?: trying fun titles, appealing overlay that shows my stream vibes • why stay?: channel point free art reward, small community w/ lots of interaction, milestones for stream enhancements/regular upgrades, interactive commands w/ mascots, chill vibes for winding down after long days Adding hurdles to your title really helps, I did a "Aiming for Top5 in Tetris99" stream which performed ~20% better than other streams. People even stayed after my 5th connection crash. And I want to work on crossposting on TH-cam, but for now I have to put a few more weeks of work into my stream setup!
I love all the detail! It seems like whenever someone mentions Vtubers they are also super tuned into audience intent and are working hard! Keep it up, Mrs Remi!
@@StreamScheme thank you! I'm at just 78 followers but I get 5-10 consistent viewers which is rewarding in itself. And having the privilege to design my own overlay and emotes as an artist really helps to keep the streams fresh. Been bingewatching your tutorials, you help a lot with motivation and I felt inclined to comment after you said some people might call it comment-baiting! More people should watch your stuff honestly ♡
I have heard that having a script is important to my content creation. I wonder if you have any tips? Is it different for a live stream on Twitch and TH-cam? Do you have a video that would help with creating a script?
Sassy!! It is so true, but how you implement the three part structure depends very much on the kind of content you do. For example, I can create multiple payoffs with smaller pieces of content within my stream. I play FFXIV. When doing dungeons, I can use those as individual stories, if you will, as well as having an overarching one for the night's stream as a whole. If you are looking to grow, using small hooks in the middle, to pull someone who might stumble across your content in the middle, seems wise if your content allows for it.
Sassy! Hey man, just wanted to say i really enjoy these videos helping others set themselves up for a successful streaming experience! I used to stream a couple years ago and then life got extremely busy and had to step away. Have been thinking of getting back into it so have been doing more and more research on how to do it right this time around and for the right reasons. So i appreciate all you do and have saved many of these to a personal folder to go back and watch over and over again. keep up the good work!
I like the video but it leaves me with a question, i wanna first start out with playing zombie, base building, and survival games since they kinda land in the same category in my opinion. The question is does every video need to have a punishment or something if a goal wasnt meant? Because i dont fully think there needs to be on some games but im inexperienced so could be wrong
This is a really random question but I just can't find the asmwer anywhere on youtube and I'm sure there is plenty of others in the same situation. So I've been stream for a few months now and I want to take it a step forward and get an elgato but I'm confused can I use an elgato with 1 laptop 1 monitor and a game console in this case ps5 to be able to use an elgato and stream labs? Pls help and also sassy
Depending on the Elgato you buy, but it works as a middle connection essentially. You have a Console, Monitor, Laptop/SLOBs, and the Elgato. The "------" is a cable. HDMI HDMI PS5--------------Elgato -------------- Monitor Elgato -------------- Laptop/Slobs USB The elgato splits into two chords and connects to your monitor with 1 and your Laptop with the other. I recommend going straight to the Elgato TH-cam channel, and watching their setup guides. Truthfully you might have issues with resolution, and potentially audio if you don't get the right Elgato. Oh and Enjoy this VERY sassy #100%Crew Badge! Made of solid Sass! 💁♂️
No need for sass, this is all great food for thought. Thanks for the tips, I'm actually going to set a goal for my next stream which was just a plain old "playthrough". 🙏
Hey Eljay, great video! You're last point is something I've been doing since I first started streaming. And tbh I think the videos I've made is actually great content but the problem is I'm having trouble getting that content out to the masses. Do you have any tips on actually getting your videos seen and understanding the algorithm?
Hey can you talk about the decision to present yourself on TH-cam as a brand e.g. stream scheme, alpha gaming rather than as an individual? Relatedly, any tips on seeming "professional" and projecting the ethos of a "legit brand"?
Ideal viewers - 18+ wanting to relax while also pushing themselves to be better player, - active in chat (although lurking to relax is also amazing) - wanting company or to make friends Streamers I look up to - Preachlfw/TaliesinAndEvitel (from a pure gaming channel point of view) - Eljayem_ (Love learning new things and want to cultivate something similar) My unique selling point? - I'm an autistic numpty that wants to make friends with everyone/learn new things and share that with others? -- Really need to work on this bit haha! Edit - Sassy
I just want to thank you for your content, man! I’ve been watching for about 6 months & I truly am grateful to have come across your channel. You have definitely helped me in my endeavors. Cheers!🍻
So sassy!! I feel like you’ve just sat us all down and gone “listen here kids, stop making excuses, and listen to wise “old” Ejjay!” 😂😂 As always thanks, you’re advice goes a long way to helping improve everything I’m doing! One thing I do want to know, is have you ever had a buddy or support person to bounce ideas off? And what do we do if we don’t have that person, perhaps another video for how to stay creative on your own? Just a wee thought. Anyway too man as always, and love your TH-cam and Twitch!!
Not to start with but I networked and found people who could help! :) Finding others from discord’s, moderators, etc, etc I think staying creative is really just finding people who make better content than you and going “F*ck. I need to do better…” at least that’s what gets me! Also! Please enjoy this very sassy commemorative #100%crew badge! It's made of one giant carved diamond! hahaha
@@StreamScheme haha brilliant! Glad I’m not the only other one that’s watching other streams and borrowing ideas 😅 Moderators are so incredibly helpful for growth too I’ve found! That’s been a fun learning curve. Thanks for the help eljay! This sassy Diamond badge is all the bling I’m ever going to need!
Do you have any advice on starting each stream? I always feel so much pressure to start right into the game or whatever I'm streaming, but I like a little intro banter. maybe this is not getting to the meat quick enough? what are your thoughts?
Sassy Thanks man for making good content, and talking about how to grow your twitch content. I personally know it is hard streaming without a camera and getting passed up on. The tips and tricks you put in your videos made me realize I need to pick up my game and create a schedule and work on my templates, while also creating good and relatable content for my streams. I often focus on my game while messing around a little bit and making a fool of myself in team based games. I do have a question though. Can you grow your channel without a camera and still engage the community as well as other streamers, because I feel like I'm way out of the league for streaming and recording my content for highlights. P.S this ain't my channel I record and stream with on twitch. Thanks man, and see you later. Peace!
sassy sassy sassy!!! XD Your videos have been extremely helpful, I am learning alot of things that I had no idea even went into streaming. It can be overwhelming at times, but learning and growing from it is fun... I'm just a super small furry V-Tuber on twitch with almost 60 followers, but I am hoping one day, with your tips and tricks that I can make this into something to be proud of! Thanks again
I'm just coming back to streaming after a change of job and relocation. I've found that turning off the viewer count has helped me to deal with that feeling of having no viewers. I play the game and talk as if I have people in chat. I ask questions and I even circle back to the questions after some time. This is what works for me. Maybe it 's something that might help others as well.
I do shiny hunting stream, which is basically me doing the same thing over and over again, so it's basically a chill and relax stream. I don't think i can make streaming my job, but i'm trying to improve to not bored the viewers and also not to bored myself to death. I've been relying too much on chat to be active, so when chat is silence, there's nothing.
Love your videos. Have learned a lot of usefull tips from them since I started streaming last year. I watched one where u had said use your phone record yourself for a few minutes and watch it back. Is it something u would watch? Changed the whole way I looked at streaming. I have however been ignoring my youtube and after this vid need to go put in work on it lol.
Sassy 👌🏼 Am I the only one who feels completely overwhelmed at the thought of trying to plan all this content out?? My goal in streaming has always been to bring positivity and joy into at least one person’s day that day, and my streams are always family friendly. My audience is people who are working during the day, who like to watch casual gameplay/first playthroughs, and who enjoy some silliness and chatting. I’m a super animated person, so I always notice my viewer count go up when I’m telling a story. And my viewer count is always higher when I’m doing Just Chatting rather than gaming.
ive been streaming for 6 months and ive been having some amazing growth days and some slow days it feels like i was doing amazingly at the start with over 30 people at the start of my streaming careers but ive been having less fun streaming so i guess thats one reason
Sorry to hear it has been rough! Streaming is incredible difficult, and it can also be seasonal. Twitch has seen dips throughout Summer and with COVID lockdowns opening up less people are watching. Remember it might not always be your fault! #earlygang

@Stream Scheme would streaming on tiktok help with streaming on twitch and getting more engagement in chat
I chose a very odd niche but I seem to be actually finding people for it
Really happy to hear that, Ren! #earlygang :)
SUP REN
Oooh! What niche??
I’m curious to know what your niche is
@@NightParadox HI NIGHT!
My energy.
Really glad to hear the channel and videos have helped mate! :) Keep it up, it’s all your hard work!
That sounds cool! Is there a video on how to do that?
@@SuperFern yep there is!! It’s pretty simple once you learn it! It’s cool to do!
Thanks! I started watching not so long ago. Working hard to get my new channel started soon. I'm as excited as I am nervous, but the drive (and @eljayem_) are helping me push through and achieve my goals
how do you use the zoom in zoom out technique?
Thank you for this❤️
• I want people alike myself to watch 13-18+ yrs
- active
- immersed
- i want them to feel comfortable
• streamers like kai, silky, have viewers I aspire to have . They react, listen to music, and play games
• what makes me special is that I choose to be authentic and actually would love to become personal with my viewers
@@StreamScheme you’re right. Thank you
After hearing over 30 tips from you, I have made a plan. I have decided what type of content I will stream and am making preparations for my first stream. I’ve been streaming for 5 months and I just started getting subs. Thanks so much eljay :)
Heck glad to hear you've started growing! Hope it continues! Good luck mate! #earlygang
Been streaming on twitch for 4 days now and I almost have 20 followers! Your videos have been helping a sh*t ton!
Aim for a audience of:
•members that appreciate analytical commentary and gameplay
•curious thinkers with open minds
•peaceful and unifying members supporting and helping each other
•people wanting a place to get away and get some wisdom, hope and people advice.
••A place where they have me to talk to if they really need someone to listen to them and understand them. Or constructive/unbiased feedback.
That’s all that matters to me for now til I’m ready to upgrade myself, my setup and stream. Sassy

In terms of my desired audience:
-Constantly engaged from the beginning to the end of stream
-Actively chatting with me and the rest of chat
-Enjoying my content so much that they'll trust me to entertain them with whatever I do
I should’ve mentioned the age rule as well!

I think you've come up with how you want your audience to watch, and engage but you haven't outlined WHO they are, and what they like.
What types of games do they watch or play, do they like certain hobbies or genres, how old are they, etc.
You'll be able to do much more if you figure out an idea of who rather than what you want from them : )
Hope this helps, Kukichu! You got this!
@@StreamScheme It does help, thank you! I'll have to really look into that!

Is there a good extension for setting that kind of thing up?
Ex: 450 bits to drop the controller
Like an overlay/component or even a panel?
I just set them up with custom alerts, I have videos on setting them up :)
@@StreamScheme okay, I’ll look for that one, thanks a ton!!
I love that when you said “taking a shit” you zoomed and paused to target people like me who are watching this while on the John.
Just needed to really make eye contact with you, really nail it home ya know.
Took a few days to think about it but I think I got my answer here (was going to break it down to 4 person but didnt have the time):
Target Audience demography: 20-30s young adults who live in either Australia, SE Asia, or East Asia.
Their interest will consist of some or one: Travel, video games, tech, movies, anime, playing or consuming music
Their worries: Work pressure, social status, environmental concerns, their future.
Their Interest: Wanna to chill out after work or school, learn some new tips and tricks of their game they're into, some social interaction when they cant meet their friends on a weekday, be interested in learning some cool historical event they might not heard of, discovering fun facts or discussing of interesting trivia topics
What value I can give them: Entertain them by being bad in some games and making dumb jokes, make funny tutorial videos on TH-cam, share my travel stories and history of the countries I learned, share some interesting topic I just researched or listened to a podcast for, play chilled or lofi music in the background, stories on my life experiences and advise
still pretty hard to do all that but Thanks
If Content Creation was easy then everyone would be massive :) It takes hard work, smart strategies, but most importantly to always focus on improving yourself and your content.
@@StreamScheme Thanks i just feel like i don't have required skill for doing all this but i still want to be streamer anyway

My Audience Goals:
(Been Streaming since 2016 / 2017 playing mecha games)
- Playing games to a casual non hardcore audience
- Using mech builds (or teams) that are not the cream of the crop
- Having fun using while using underwhelming characters or builds in game (win or lose!)
- Ultimate goal is branch to games that have some RPG fantasy elements as well. Trying that now in Genshin Impact.
It's interesting, I've always thought of Mech Gamers to be fairly hardcore gamers with min maxing, and a lot of strategy but I think that's because I just suck at BattleTech hahaha
Keep working on finding that audience, figuring out what they want, and how they'll find you!
3. Who has an audience like that? not sure, watched your Minecraft stream where U talked about P plate driver and ... elec bike, youre good man, your chat was 🔥
I like your ideas, Ive been making notes and matching stuff to it. Just need to piece it all together.
Thank you m8 🤙

Sassy!
I've been watching your videos and absorbing as much as I can since I started streaming more seriously the last few months. I gotta say the part of this video I loved most was the brutal honesty at the end- "well, I'm not as talented as they are so I have to work harder."
Thanks for all the advice you give in your videos
I want to chat with people, engage with their journeys and make them a part of my team by uplifting them. That content writes itself. My problems are CTA, announcements, and eventing. You always give me something to think about. Thanks Stream Scheme
Wellp, I'm a Brazilian streamer, we are the "country of the memes", and what I want is people who laughs of my dumb jokes (they are really bad). I'm very bad at every single game, so my slogan is: "So much fun, so poor gameplay", and that's true. I've been streaming for a month now and just reached the 5 viewers avg, IDK how to keep growing but I'm trying to learn with your videos, thanks "É o Jay" (that's how I call you)
Good luck :) Have you worked out your audience yet? #earlygang
@@StreamScheme I'm trying. Sometimes I get people within another vibe, like: "oh, why do you keep making jokes? just play the game", but that's fine, I don't want to change my style.
My answers:
-I want an audience like RTGame's.
Edit: Sassy
Sassy, just jumped on here from your twitch morning stream right now and you outline a nice plan for streams and content creation. Thank you!
Thank you so much for all these vids. Even 2 years later I’m just finding you and it’s helped immensely
I can definitely see now why you said to write that down -- just the writing it part really helped! Thanks again for all the tips and helpful info!
Oh boy am I feeling SASSY 👹 super great tips in here, it helps when some one really lays it all out there for you. Thank you so much for helping me keep my content fresh and not letting me go down terrible rabbit holes. You the real mvp
My man dropping gems once again, much appreciated!
love the new sassy eljay vibes! Your new editing style is seriously slick, man!
sassy!
Thanks again for all the content you create, I'm working really hard on implementing as many of your tips as possible, long process but it's slowly coming along!
Good luck, Solid :) Hope the videos help, and hope the hard work pays off!
Enjoy this VERY Sassy commemorative #100%crew badge!
your videos are always so helpful.
Sassy was the nickname of my dog that passed a few months ago… Saskia, I’m not sad about it now just happy this reminded me how much I loved her 💛

i love how you made the end like a sassy trailor lol great vid! even though im late to it lol but seriously you deserve to be at 1M subs by now youve done an amazing job and you should be proud of what youve created
but what you were saying about a list of people you wanna pertain to, ive been trying to think of that for literally months but the best i can come up with is i want people like me that just wanna know.... nothing specific in particular, but channels like modern rogue and the king of random i love those because they teach so mayn different things that just blow your mind without it needing to be in front of a chalkboard during a lecture. i want to be that person that everybody goes, "this guy has shown me so many things that i actually learned and love, not just went "cool" and forgot about it the next day and hes fun to interact with too"
Thanks for the Sassy tips! This is great as always.
I never miss an Eljay video!!! Always useful. Always actionable. THANKS BUDDY!!!
Heck yeah! :) hope it helped, Armenastra!
people who want to engage with me and are around my age and community focused. my goal is to create a stream where anyone can go and relax or get pumped up and forget about that rough day at work. ive had those days everyone has had them. i want people to come in have fun and engage to disengage from having an entirely bad day. thank you for creating these videos it really helps me get my head on straight and keep my goals to the forefront.
very sassy
I would say, people who enjoy who I am.
Something I noticed with my viewers I have regulars, and most of the time as its late for me but not for them, they just quickly write a hello message and say they putting me on, in the background while working
And I am honestly always honored when someone says that, because for me, that means they enjoy myself enough to have me there.
Thanks again for all the tippers! I am writing them all down, which is hard with paws.
Great video again, I'm so glad I subscribed! I LOVE that your tips are actually applicable and actionable.
• target audience: people around my age (20's), artists/art community, casual gamers, anime fans/vtubers, people who follow my art already
• stream type: mostly chill streams, mix of entertainment (games) and education (art)
• big streamers: Vtubers such as Ina, ChaiKitsu
• why click?: trying fun titles, appealing overlay that shows my stream vibes
• why stay?: channel point free art reward, small community w/ lots of interaction, milestones for stream enhancements/regular upgrades, interactive commands w/ mascots, chill vibes for winding down after long days
Adding hurdles to your title really helps, I did a "Aiming for Top5 in Tetris99" stream which performed ~20% better than other streams.
Sassy!! I know it's an old video but I've just got into streaming and I'm rattling through all your videos, great advice and help ❤
Because i dont fully think there needs to be on some games but im inexperienced so could be wrong
watching you while editing...
keep making these because you help me and so many other people achieve their dreams;I've almost reached affiliate
Hey Thanks! Glad to hear they’ve been helpful! :)
HDMI HDMI
PS5--------------Elgato -------------- Monitor
Elgato -------------- Laptop/Slobs
USB
The elgato splits into two chords and connects to your monitor with 1 and your Laptop with the other.
@@StreamScheme thank you very much really appreciated
No need for sass, this is all great food for thought. Thanks for the tips, I'm actually going to set a goal for my next stream which was just a plain old "playthrough". 🙏
Hey Eljay, great video! You're last point is something I've been doing since I first started streaming. And tbh I think the videos I've made is actually great content but the problem is I'm having trouble getting that content out to the masses. Do you have any tips on actually getting your videos seen and understanding the algorithm?
I’ve got a lot of guides in starting TH-cam channels :) hope they help mate!
Hey can you talk about the decision to present yourself on TH-cam as a brand e.g. stream scheme, alpha gaming rather than as an individual?
Relatedly, any tips on seeming "professional" and projecting the ethos of a "legit brand"?
Ideal viewers - 18+ wanting to relax while also pushing themselves to be better player,
- active in chat (although lurking to relax is also amazing)
- wanting company or to make friends
Streamers I look up to - Preachlfw/TaliesinAndEvitel (from a pure gaming channel point of view)
- Eljayem_ (Love learning new things and want to cultivate something similar)
My unique selling point? - I'm an autistic numpty that wants to make friends with everyone/learn new things and share that with others? -- Really need to work on this bit haha!
Edit - Sassy
I just want to thank you for your content, man! I’ve been watching for about 6 months & I truly am grateful to have come across your channel. You have definitely helped me in my endeavors. Cheers!🍻
Heck thanks so much mate! Hope the videos have helped you! :)
Sassy! Amazing tips as always. Definitely copping the drop your controller for bits idea
Go for it! Enjoy this VERY sassy #100%Crew Badge! Made of solid Sass! 💁♂️
SASSY Love your Videos my dude, they have helped me out a lot, still learning though which is why i keep coming back
So glad mate! :) Thanks for the kind words! Enjoy this VERY sassy #100%Crew Badge! Made of solid Sass! 💁♂️
Finding others from discord’s, moderators, etc, etc
I think staying creative is really just finding people who make better content than you and going “F*ck. I need to do better…” at least that’s what gets me!
Also! Please enjoy this very sassy commemorative #100%crew badge! It's made of one giant carved diamond! hahaha
@@StreamScheme haha brilliant! Glad I’m not the only other one that’s watching other streams and borrowing ideas 😅
Moderators are so incredibly helpful for growth too I’ve found!
Sassy
Thanks man for making good content, and talking about how to grow your twitch content.
I've been relying too much on chat to be active, so when chat is silence, there's nothing.
good job very well illustrated and filmed. I really need to step up my game on video production
Hey thanks, Loki! :) Good luck!
Thanks for the good advice like always homie
Hope it helped mate! #earlygang
Thank you so much!! This is incredibly helpful :3
Sassy 👌🏼
Am I the only one who feels completely overwhelmed at the thought of trying to plan all this content out??
#earlygang
