    I had hit a plateau with my stream and the last tip really stuck with me. I haven't been doing much to foster a community off stream. Recently I revamped my discord, set up movie nights. I get such warm feelings when viewers say hi to each other during a stream instead of just watching only for me. Thank you for all the insanely motivational tips, here's to hoping that 2021 will be the year I finally overcome my plateau :)

    My friend raided me during none of my streams with a high number, and helped me hit affiliate. Those friends have been lurking and helping me out, so more people have also been finding me. I used to sit at 2 avg viewers, with one of them being me on my phone, but after I got my pc, started networking, making friends, and am now sitting at 5 average viewers starting at 3 last week. Your tips have definetly helped, and my favorite tip is networking. Lots of people do it, but if you do it correctly, then you can grow insanely

    Second tip of finding a niche community within a community will for sure take away. In addition to being more unique content i've also found that the main community discords/reddit you usually need to be "legit" content creator and apply before being allowed to plug but finding smaller discords is good idea to get around that.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've personally never seen self-promotion or plug channels help anyone grow a consistent community so I wouldn't stress about that.

When I go live on twitch I go live on TikTok and push people to my stream. TikTok also promotes your content more when you’re live (need 1k followers) thanks all you do

    @bigwyzardgaming280 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    #own3d Twitch BigWyzard - I really appreciate MetalFear’s advice on storytelling to engage and entertain an audience. It is really easy to run out of topics and just narrate what you are doing in a game (which can get boring). I’ve been really trying to improve my “presence” on stream especially because I play with groups. Stories will be an interesting way to keep me talking without talking over the group.

    It would be very interesting for me if you make a video about how to grow as an artist on twitch. I don't see much of it online.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is a very niche topic so it is tough to make a video about it! BUT I think it is all about trend jacking, so finding communities/pop culture/ etc that people love and fit the demographic of Twitch viewers then making art in that space.
      A good example, people do a stream where they paint/draw/etc a famous and beloved pop culture character, they turn that into a sped up speed drawing with high production quality for TH-cam, then post the FINAL art piece to a forum/subreddit to show it to people who love the character, then in the top comment they often post "If you want to see how I made it, I do have a speed drawing of it here!"
      In the YT video of the speed drawing is a call to action to promote your Twitch stream :)

    you said in a previous video minecraft isnt a niche or small game but it works. I play a lot of minecraft and I stream it but I would like if you could elaborate on why minecraft does work in comparison to other big games.

    • @StreamScheme
      @StreamScheme  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Minecraft is solid for small streamers if they play it in a specific way, at least from my experience!
      If you have 5 - 15 viewers, you can set your tags as "playing with viewers" "multiplayer" etc and then title it about playing with viewers as well and often you will get HUGE amounts of people joining.
      The other way is again, 5 - 15 viewers, and then playing Hardcore with tags for "Hardcore" "ironman" "permadeath" and titles that have high stakes and are engaging.
      "Exploring The Nether In HARDCORE! - Day 6 - Hardcore Minecraft" as an example. Hope that clarifies!

    In terms of streaming, I have a headset right now with a decent quality mic. It's definitely not the best, but it's clear enough I can be understood and be at a good volume level. Do you think my next purchase should be a webcam or an actual mic? (I'm also uploading TH-cam content if that changes your answer) I'm assuming good quality ones of each would be similar in price so I'm not sure which I should get first. I probably won't be buying anything else for a few months.

      I think art streaming or music streaming is about understanding the demographics on Twitch.
      Violinists who stream video game sound track covers blow up for example, you need to find a way to stand out the way Only_Trails talks about how he did that in this video!

    #own3d Twitch: Scorpion3yes and the advice that really stuck out the most (and actually relate to) was teawithmandy’s advice on other social media platforms. Before I even had the inkling of a thought of streaming on twitch, I was so active on Twitter and Discord for about a year with 3-4 core communities that I was a part of. I made many great friends in these communities, and when I started, they were shocked but also excited to know that I was starting out! It’s definitely a cushion in my opinion that the first few followers and viewers are friends who I can hangout, chat, and welcome other new people when streaming! All the more engaging, and in my case, all the more to hang out and be comfy with them! Love this video Eljay! Helps me to reinforce what I need to do! o/
