What a top bloke and what a top motor!! As people have said built not bought!! He has built an awesome motor and he is very humble with it. Nice to see someone who is not bothered by following the trend or pissing the purists off. With a bit of mapping and upgrades that is going to be one scary beast. Torn on this one coz I love an R32 engine and never really was that keen on the way the scoobie boxers sound.. but this is one of the better looking golfs after the Mk1's and 2's (coming from an ex-mk3 vr6 owner) and I really appreciate the skill, craftsmanship & ethos that's gone into this build. So he still gets a tip of the cap. Well done sir.
You can't beat the max power era,theirs nothing better than modifying a car to your own spec'.Every car I've owned I've modified it,and it's been worth every penny in the process.

I used to live in New Zealand so the Subaru boxer rumble was a familiar soundtrack, never seen so many Subarus before or since.

Chop Shop, not Johnny Vegas. It was for him. Based on a mk2 and looked like crap when finished. The owner did mention it.

??? Nice What an effort. A Golf 6 cylinder can be tuned to reliable 600 horses grandma suitable and drive around like a sleeper, until you put the pedal down over 4000 rpm ... That needs only some work on a large turbo and brakes ..

on the same path as you dude, just done all the rear arches and chassis, new brake lines and a few shiny bits ... i get it back from the garage tomorrow after 2 months of work :O can't wait to get it tuned ;)

First I'll say I'm a VW fan, had multiple VW's, my favorite ones were:
1985 MK2 GTI 8V
1997 PASSAT 12V VR6
2001 GTI 12V VR6
2004 R32 24V VR6
And I'm a VR6 fan. With that said why not do a VR6 swap or simply buy a MK5 R32 or a R36?
