It's always crazy to me how some people can do everything to not get pregnant, still get pregnant, and have a healthy baby without doing anything extra during pregnancy. But some people try so hard, do all the things they're supposed to, and still struggle with unexplained infertility and recurrent miscarriage. No hate on anyone it's just crazy to me how different everyone's bodies are
Tell me about it- my cousin didn’t see a doctor the entire time she was pregnant and was an active drug user. I go to the doctor once a week and have to have genetic testing done and be pressured to do more. I now don’t even know if I’m going to deliver a live baby. What the actual hell?
@@tuesdayfloring5104 I'm sorry you're going through that.. we really struggled to have a baby and just finally had a healthy baby the 14th. I hope you can have your healthy baby the bring home as well

I'm just amazed how everyone in this series is so happy about the child they did NOT want to have! 😂
tree person I appreciate that, I miscarried earlier this year and now this. Apparently, triploidy or trisomy 13 & 18 are showing signs of extra chromosomes. It’s been tough but we’ve talked about it and if things don’t turn out, we are going to get on birth control and grieve until the time is right to try again. It’s all we can do! Congratulations on the baby! They’re beautiful and amazing! I have a six year old son, but this will be my husbands first child. So he’s taking this really hard because he truly believes he was born to be a dad. I believe it too!
@@tuesdayfloring5104 that's heartbreaking 💔 we lost our first at 19weeks and our second at 6weeks. I always wanted to be a mother and my husband was a born father. We took a year after our last mc before trying again and I think it was really good for us both. Praying your baby is ok and is born alive and healthy
Gnome uni? that's University in the UK right? wow you get your degree to be a midwife in the UK!! In the US you need to be careful of midwives, they're wildly under-educated and caused a lot of unfortunate issues. that's why I made sure my Midwife is a nurse with a midwife certificate! I hope you have a lot of success with your choice, it took me forever to figure out what I was interested in. now Im lucky enough get to work with kids, and do my best to deal with their parents...lol... no really you're lucky to be where you are parents in the US right now are a real nightmare! the trend right now is free-range parenting... it's as bad as it sounds
Ashley Burbank yes it’s a 3 year degree here. There’s various nursing degrees, midwifery is one of them. If you want to be a midwife AND a nurse it’s 2 separate degrees. Most mothers are cared for, and babies delivered by midwives here (a couple consultant doctor appointments) unless your are deemed high risk or having a c-section then you get a doctor. But there is always a doctor or two available in the maternity hospital if needed.
There's actually a medical condition where people have sex in their sleep without knowing it, and the other partner can't tell because the person appears to be awake and actively participating. There would probably be evidence in the morning though
I had had a positive pregnancy test, was having all the symptoms (nausea, and all that jazz) went for a checkup and they did more bloodwork (I guess that was just routine) I was told that the results said that not only was I NOT pregnant, but could not have been pregnant recently (I was at 14 weeks) They suggested 3 possibilities: It was a blighted ovum, the pregnancy was ectopic, I had experienced a hysterical pregnancy. They sent me for an ultrasound to figure out which. What we saw was a perfectly normal fetus sucking his thumb and doing summersaults. My "Blighted Ovum" will be 34 this summer.
I didn't have symptoms and took a test, negative. I was also on the pill 🤷🏾♀️ I was also prescribed Wellbutrin at lowest dose. It caused me upset stomach to the point I felt what I thought were kicks. I just googled it instead of going to the hospital and it said gas can feel like kicks. So I decided to just keep going to work. They did a blood test. Positive! They were also confused as to why my hormones were so high. 7 months pregnant. My only princess is almost 8
I got a negative pregnancy, urine and blood till I felt movement, I was about 18 weeks, went back told my Dr, got a urine test negative, got an ultrasound and there was a baby! Got blood tests and we’re negative, they sent me with a genetic specialist cuz the Dr said it wasn’t normal and something might be wrong with the baby. Everything came back normal and I have a healthy 12yr old son.
Karla Monreal I’ve missed my period for two months now, which is not normal at all for me, I’m showing all the signs of being pregnant, nausea, stomach pains, frequent need for the restroom, heartburn, headaches. Every home pregnancy test I take comes back negative. I have an appointment set up in May (because of everything going on w/ corona) I’m worried my blood test will come back negative and they WONT let me try a sonogram to check just in case. Did you have to fight with your dr to get a sonogram?
When my period is late I get freaked out about possibly being pregnant. Then I remember that I'm a woman who only dates other women and I feel like an idiot.
I remember being 15-16 years old and never even having kissed a boy, when my period was late, and I thought to myself "oh, damn it. I'm gonna be the new Virgin Mary"
Omg! Gladim not the only 1! Im asexual. And dont even have sex, and i freak out ever so often. But with having pcos its always been screwed up anyway, so ive gotten alot better with not freakin out. Lol
Thank God this guy was a two time father and paid attention at the birth of his two sons. Remembered and knew what to do, got his wife through birth, cleared the baby's mouth so she cried, and knew to call 9-1-1. Props!
Mama Doctor Jones is so kind😭😭 “she did the best she could with the information she had” I really appreciate how sympathetic and gentle she is in this overly judgmental world we live in
I was fine through this whole video and as soon as she said that I started crying. Kind doctors change lives even if it turns out they didn't really need to do anything medical for the patient.

@@Syna02 lots of women have who have PCOS are not very if at all overweight. There are other ways a baby can grow without showing the way we are used to seeing. There have been lots of epiosdes of this show where the woman stayed fairly small the entire time. It's really ignorant and rude to assume everyone with PCOS or anyone who didn't know they were pregnant was just overweight. It minimizes what they're going thru. PCOS itself can actually make it easier for you to gain weight and harder to lose weight.
@@Cinnamonster9 No, actually it isn't. Wasn't minimizing anything or even being rude. It is actually a FACT AND STATISTIC that most women who reportedly have PCOS are overweight because of insulin resistance. So uhm, check your facts because you know absolutely nothing about PCOS ironically.
@@Syna02 lmao. Funny, cuz my best friend has it and what I said was told directly to her and read by myself many times over my years of research. I didn't say none of them are overweight. But it's also a fact that there is more to it than the insulin resistance/being overweight. Lots of women have it and are not overweight, even on the thin side. There isn't a one size fits all with this. Different women have different symptoms of it.
Moonfire chan seriously!! If he really was that calm and helpful he needs to be a midwife or something. I’ve had 3 babies and I’m sure I’d still freak out.
I had 2 false negatives on at home tests at 2 months and a false negative blood test when I was 3 and 1/2 or 4 months. I found out I was pregnant at almost 6 months. The first ultra sound was kind of hilarious. None of us were expecting a six month old fetus. lol Now he's a healthy 16 year old ❤️
Wow! This seems to be more common than we think. I didn't find out I was pregnant with my daughter until I scheduled a ultrasound. I was convinced I had another cyst on my ovary or something. I really thought I was pregnant until I kept failing DOZENS of home pregnancy tests over 2 weeks past my missed period & my OB ran all kinds of tests - all came back normal... except my prolactin levels were higher than normal.... during that ultrasound, I found out I was almost 7 weeks pregnant! 😊 That explained my high prolactin, but not all my negative pregnancy tests! Testing positive late or not at all on home pregnancy tests seems to be alot more common than we think! I hear stories all the time now since I had my daughter!
This man helped his wife deliver a baby very calmly, meanwhile I have an anxiety when I have to tell the McDonald cashier my double cheeseburger doesn't have any cheese.
I didn't call my dad of of work he was feeling really sick I forgot and I've been having an anxiety attack since 10 am and haven't told my dad ... I am 21
you'd be surprised how you would act in a situation like that.... some peope are extremely calm. I had an extremely truamatic labor/birth me and my baby almost died. my own mother who is usually a rock burst into tears and ran out of the room, I however a person with sevre anxiety and also panicks at the thought of ordering food was comepltely calm and overly rationaly the whole time.
I used probably 10-12 home pregnancy tests, all were "I dunno" - no specific lines, if it was to be blue lines, mine showed a purple smudge.. I KNEW I was pregnant, I started spotting and went to the ER, where I was dismissed (just another urine test), finally over a weekend, I had to know, I'd had a miscarriage before and no other children, I was 36.. I called my OB/GYN office on a Sat. morning, and got a Dr. I had never seen, but God Bless Her! She called the hospital and ordered blood work, I went and they said to call them in an hour, the tech taking the blood knew how badly I wanted this pregnancy... When I called in an hour, they put me on hold for - ever, but the speaker phone at the hospital came on and the people in the lab were all cheering and congratulating :) It was an incredibly difficult pregnancy, but my daughter was born ON her due date weighing 6lb 8 oz.. She is 27 now and I am certain she still hangs the stars and the moon, my baby blessing, I still thank God many many times a day, and send her a quick "I love you, I am so proud of you" text everyday... She was an honor student with a very difficult major, but she did it, and now last night told me she is getting married... Miracles do happen, she proved it.
I've seen a couple of these episodes where I'm like, "Yeah, okay. I can see how you wouldn't think you were pregnant," and then others where I just want to shake the women.
@@lindseystraley9596 I fully agree, there are some women that its understandable, others don't gave a reason not to check or be suspicious at the very least
@@SL-dp5xb Yes, they are. My mother had normal pregnancy symptoms with my brother and I, when she was 39, she was suffering with heartburn. She went to the doctor and they told her to change her diet. She felt great with a few changes. She went back with more heartburn problems, nothing too bad, they X-Rayed her, and there was our little sister. She was 6 months pregnant. She is now 48.
I have PCOS. I have always had irregular periods. I’ve been off from 3 months up to 5 months. My 2nd pregnancy was a complete surprise. I took a pregnancy test came out negative, had what I thought was a period. I was feeling pregnancy symptoms for the next couple of weeks. Took another pregnancy test, came back positive. I was pregnant. Then my “period” came again. I thought I’d miscarried. Freaked out, I’ve had a miscarriage before. Went to the hospital cause my blood type is A- and I need a Rhogam shot. They did an ultrasound, they found the baby was 8 weeks. They saw a heartbeat. It was strong. She was born super healthy and is now 9yrs old. She’s my miracle baby.
Congratulations on your baby! So sorry you had to go through miscarriages. I’m A- too Got Rhogham for bleeding early and having a SCH but told the OB doctor first appointment I wanted the fetal rhesus testing. There’s 2 companies I found in the USA that offer it. But the doctors office needs to order the kit. They do testing pretty standard overseas to reduce the risk of exposure for the mother to viruses. Ireland had tens of thousands of mothers exposed to hepatitis before they knew about hepatitis. Billion to One unity NIPT screening , out of California testing after 10weeks devyser - NIPT fetal rhesus screening, out of Rowell GA testing after 10weeks I believe Of course we can only make the decisions with the info we have, and I didn’t have the test done before I had bleeding. The ER doctor said I’m in 10-30% risk of miscarriage, so praying everything resolves. Hope this helps in the future. I plan on still getting the test done so I know if I need any more or not.
I HATE that any woman feels that diet pills or starving themself is necessary. That made me so so sad. I wish we could all be a little healthier but also a lot happier in our bodies. To anyone reading this, you’re beautiful and loved and worth so much more than your weight or looks. ❤️
I actually watched this story about a month ago. The husband said something like, “My wife started off like a normal woman and took those diet pills and looked really skinny” or something like that. So at least the hubby loves her body 😊
Any doctor worth his salt wouldn’t prescribe weight loss medication for someone unless it was medically warranted. Those things still have their place, and I don’t think we should always be quick to demonise them.
I'm not saying I'm taking pills like these or plan to. But some of us have MAJOR issues with our body and even after eating super healthy and working out EVERY DAY we lose nothing, only gaining.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MENTIONING THE HOOK EFFECT. Please, please, PLEASE bring this up again in a longer video in the future. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 17.5 weeks as a result of the Hook effect (both urine AND blood tests) when I finally got an ultrasound and confirmed the HUGE fetus hanging out in my uterus. My doctor was stunned and couldn't understand how it happened. It's crazy how little this phenomenon is discussed in the medical field, because apparently it happens a LOT more than we think and gets chalked up to an error in the lab. TEN NEGATIVE TESTS IS NOT A LAB ERROR. I didn't even have a NAME for what happened to me until last year when I saw this video for the first time. During my second pregnancy, however? Picked it up right away on all the tests, and I knew from the jump. Bizarre how different two pregnancies can be... Thanks again for bringing it up MDJ!
hi! sorry your comment is old but I have a question. I'm searching for this effect on the web and there isn't a lot of precise info for this. Your pregnancy was quite normal appart from those failed tests? Did you do the first test early on in your pregnancy? I'm trying to get pregnant, but I've always had irregular cycles before the pill and stopped the pill less than a year ago. So I know periods can be even more irregular... Long story short, did two tests (negative) 10 days appart and now I'm wondering if I should get to my ObGYN (but he is far from my home so I'd rather not go if not necessary), my general practitioner, or get yet again another test :/
@@annabees my wife was irregular as all get out, PCOS being diagnosed late. With both successful pregnancies and a few lost pregnancies, she routinely tested negative for pregnancy. It was so bad that one hospital insisted she wasn't pregnant, despite ultrasounds showing a healthy and growing fetus. That was a case of a teaching hospital learning from their patient.
@@spvillano Well, thanks for your story! Wasn't pregnant but indeed PCOS suspicion... I'm waiting a bit before confirming diagnosis, I'm starting to get periods less than 2months appart so there's hope.
Right? It's not even that rare. I've heard of loads of women having it on ttc forums. Obviously they knew they were pregnant since they were testing early as actively trying, and got positive before the hook effect occurred. But the topic of the hook effect comes up a lot on the forums. It seems that women who have struggled with infertility and TTC for years know more than the doctors sometimes 😂

I love that your blood can be so full of pregnant a blood test will just go, "Nope, you're not pregnant. You're just literally mostly pregnancy and therefor cannot BE pregnant."
Was it a blood pregnancy test or a stick one cause a stick one can read as inconclusive because you are so far pregnant that its not possible to tell on the pregnancy test. Also known as a dye stealer

We had a lady in one of my classes at college who was HEAVILY pregnant and our Holocaust exam ended up falling on her due date. She came to class anyway and the teacher was like "well if she has her baby during the exam all of you will get A's" 😬. Fortunately it went off without a hitch. She aced her exam and had her baby four days later
wow that close? One of my cousins told me that there was a girl at her school whom had gotten pregnant and at graduation, her water broke. She wound up having to go to the hospital while still in her graduation gown.
Unless I had been experiencing contractions I probably would have just taken the exam too. Any good OB will tell you the due date is an approximation. Some women have a naturally shorter gestation and some have longer. Longer gestation runs in my family. Most of my sisters kids were born nearly 2 weeks after the due date. My 1st was induced 4 days after the due date after amniotic fluid loss and nearly no contractons. My 2nd was born a day or 2 after the due date.
Can you please talk about those crazy women talking about “crypt” pregnancy. Their definition is that they’re pregnant over 2 years or 5 years?? They seem to really believe it too
Well it’s a certain condition I forgot the name, but sometimes you can believe something like pregnancy so much that your body will show symptoms. (Not big symptoms but because they believe they are pregnant they see any indication of pregnancy for justification for their belief). It’s super sad and I think mama jones should review it with caution as an obgyn could explain a bit but maybe not so much the mental side. It’s a touchy subject
Moving patients with a sheet is exactly how we move patients that can't move themselves in the ER, but we usually get the beds at the same level and just slide them over
I had repeated “false negatives” with 2 of my pregnancies. With both of them I took repeated urine and serum tests at the doctors offices. They came back negative. The pregnancies were only confirmed via ultrasound (they were looking for other causes for my symptoms). One pregnancy was confirmed at 9 weeks and the other 12 weeks. Thankfully both were born fine.
Did you have a ‘period’ with either? Just curios. I keep reading about implantation bleeding being confused as a period. And then women finding out about being pregnant

When I was born my mom's uterus didn't clamp down. Very shortly after I was born, legs still in the stirrups, blood just gushed out across the room and onto the floor. My mom says the Doctor turned around so fast his glasses almost fell off his nose. Him and 4 or 5 nurses just started massaging her stomach. This happened again with my brother 7 years later. This will probably get lost but I've always wondered just how common/uncommon that is.
Happened to me. Postpartum hemorrhage. In my case they also used an injectable medication to help me stop bleeding and I also received a transfusion. It’s relatively common unfortunately. Luckily modern medicine has come a long way and postpartum hemorrhage , which used to be life threatening, is usually easily managed.
Here's a RARE story for you: When I was 6 weeks pregnant with my second child, I had a "miscarriage." I went to the E.R. with terrible bleeding. After I was evaluated, the OB gave me a D&C. Two days later I spiked a fever and was back in the E.R. for an infection in my uterus. A few tests later, I found out I was still pregnant. I can not find anyone else that has experienced this. EDIT: My daughter was NOT a twin. I did not lose a baby. The lab tested what was removed from me and there was no fetal tissue present.
What do you mean? Did a twin die and they took that one out? Or were they just completely not looking when they did the d&c and then didn’t check they cleared it out? Did no one ever give you an ultrasound the whole time? lol I’m not doubting you I’m just so intrigued!!
Hi! No, there wasn't a twin. They did an ultrasound and didn't find a heartbeat. It was actually too early for a belly ultrasound. When I went back they did a vaginal ultrasound and that's when they found a heartbeat. By some stroke of luck, they missed her. She's 14.5 months now.
@@amandacypriano9713 wow I'm sorry but you're ob sounds really stupid, bleeding in early pregnancy is common and does not always mean you're having a miscarriage, you could have had a subchorionic hematoma, also it's not abnormal to not be able to see the heartbeat on a belly ultrasound that early, you possibly would have been able to see it if your OB had given you a transvaginal ultrasound, on top of that I can't believe even when your doctor thought you were having a miscarriage somehow missed the baby, which ended up being a good thing for you obviously, but your doctor sounds kind of stupid LOL also if I were you I would be mad that I went through all that physical and mental trama just to end up with a uterus infection and still be pregnant! But at least your little baby is safe :)
Yep I've had this. I lost a baby at 9 weeks and had all the tests and was told the hormones were lowering so I had definitely miscarried. 4weeks later I still felt pregnant but the gp assumed it was psychological. They redid bloods to be sure and it stated I was pregnant. They re scanned me but the baby was tiny compared to it's now what should have been 13 week size. So we were told to prepare ourselves as with the baby now very small and the previous hormone changes we could lose it. 4 weeks later we went for another scan and the baby was now the size of a 12 week baby and had grown 4 weeks worth in 4 weeks. A specialist was called in and it was confirmed the baby on the scan was not the same baby from my supposed miscarriage as the dates and babies size and weight gain didnt match. I had been pregnant with 2 babies conceived 2 months running and the second baby had managed to survive the miscarriage of the first baby. The second baby is now 11 years old.
My last period was super light, two days shorter and like, not to be tmi but a lite tampon was coming out damn near dry...my periods are never like this...oh and my tubes are tied...I’m still nervous.
Me all the time 😂 after being told with my last I was pregnant in the ER while bleeding through pads and after a negative urine test so now when I go to my doctor I request blood tests 😁

I'm pregnant now and I kept getting negative results on the blood test. I went in for an ultrasound this morning and they saw my babies. I was persistent about it because I knew. I had been to many different doctors and I just got called crazy. Well, turns out I'm not crazy, I'm just pregnant. It's such a crazy situation though.
Can we find a way to link up?? I don't know how to be persistent when it comes to doctors and I'm pretty sure that I'm pregnant but keep getting negatives, I hate feeling like I'm going crazy
My mom didn't have enough HCG to detect pregnancy when she was pregnant with me till the day of delivery she only found out she was pregnant when she was involved in a car accident and they did a ultrasound she was 4 months along throughout her pregnancy they did blood and urine tests it kept saying negative till she was in labor
As a medical laboratory technologist, one of the possibilities for getting a false negative serum test for bHCG is taking too much biotin. The amount in a normal multivitamin doesn't interfere much but if you take extra biotin it can cause your bHCG number to be falsely lowered. Edit: hook effect on a serum test is extremely rare. Our assay goes up to 1 million IU/L and the average pregnancy maxes out around 100,000.
Would the hook effect be more likely in a qualitative serum test? Or with older lab techniques? Also hcg can drop after 8weeks or so? (Although unlikely to drop below 25 so... I dunno) this has always fascinated me!
@@TheEmmakathryn I'm not sure about qualitative serum testing, I've never worked with it. I would expect that it would be more likely as the testing concept would be similar to qualitative urine testing and therefore have similar limitations. HCG levels do drop starting around week 10-12 but they tend to stabilize well above 4000 and can stay as high as 100,000 for the remainder of the pregnancy, so they should be detectable at any point. I say should, human bodies are weird and do crazy stuff we've never seen before.
That could be it. Biotin is in a lot of supplements for dieting for women (not for men, for some odd reason). Even more commercial fitness brands like Prozis have gone crazy with marketing Biotin as a diet supplement for "better energy metabolism" and "more healthy nervous system", plus the whole healthy nails and hair thing, with 5000-6000mcg per day. Considering also normal diet foods, such as eggs, spinach and cauliflower, which also have high amounts of biotin... Would this be enough to interfere with the test?
@@sorayaimperial it would be enough to interfere if you are taking more than 1 mg per day. The degree of impact on results depends on how much exactly you're taking but it still shouldn't be enough to mask a mid-pregnancy HCG result completely. It definitely could mask an early pregnancy result though. Biotin interferes with a lot of immunoassay tests as it can be a part of the reaction itself. Troponin results can appear decreased as well if you take too much, and that's what tells a doctor if you're having a heart attack 😬

@@kheuzi6558 Doctors have to remember that things like cancer exist and not always in convenient organs. Just because you're young, doesn't mean you can have had some disease or even a car accident or assault or something that destroys your uterus.
@@adrimare1 truly they do need to remember, it's why my mom has ptsd with doctors, so many brush her things off purely because she's 37 and has a young face, people often mistake us for sisters or even friends which makes it hard for doctors to take her seriously for some reason because "a pretty young woman can't have things wrong with her" Hopefully things will change for the better where good doctors outnumber the bad ones.
The first 2 months I was pregnant all the pregnancy test that I took in the morning were negative. So I randomly took one in the afternoon and it showed positive.
I'm the complete opposite lol.....I knew a week early that I was pregnant all 3 times. My uterus produces mass amounts of HcG so there was always a faint line 5 to 6 days before my period was going to start. The first one was an accident but intuitively I knew I was preg. The 2nd was planned so o tested a lot anyway and the 3rd was like the 1st, once you've been preggo you kinda know what it feels like you for you.
Weird, isn't it usually that 3 weeks have to pass so the test would have a chance of being positive? Or did I get that wrong? Either way, it just shows how every woman's body is different (gotta love genetics). I guess you have to trust your gut at times, too.
@@glaciemdraco it can be as early as 10 days after implantation of the fertilized egg when a urine or blood test can show a positive. But yea it's crazy how every womans body is different.
@@roxystarlite4106 I wonder where I heard three weeks from then... biology doesn't do much to prepare you for that or answer questions so maybe I heard it somewhere. But yeah, genetics are interesting, to say the least. I hate the sight of blood so I stopped at high school level biology XD
@@glaciemdraco I mean.....average ovulation is 2 weeks before you start your next period so it makes since that 3 weeks after ovulation you would get a positive result for sure. I have a family in The Sims 4 (yes its a game, therefore all pretend) the kids are Johnathan, Jacob, Jayden, Jim, Jude, Jeremy, Janet, Jasmine, Jessica, Joanna, and Jane. Yes, there is a theme.
In high school I took pre medical terminology, my teacher told us her kids names are , “ Brent , Brittany , Brad , Brandon , she later said she regretted that
That irregular period thing reminded me of something. In college, my periods were CRAZY! Sometimes I wouldn't have them for months and then when I did, sometimes they'd last forever! It lasted a little over 2 weeks one time. I didn't get checked out because I couldn't afford it and mom kept telling me they would just blame it on my weight. I've finally graduated, have been home resting, and suddenly, I have been cycling normally for the past five months as if I had always been. Something tells me the problem was likely stress from studies. Don't underestimate what stress can do to ya, folks!

Can we just talk about that dad for a second? Other than leaving the mom after the baby already had it’s shoulders out, he really seemingly did such an amazing job! He knew just what to do and he got his baby to breathe! That’s awesome!
I'm pregnant with my 1st baby at 30, was told that I couldn't have children since I was 18 because of my severe PCOS. I lost 70lbs and was on medication for my hormone imbalance. Since I've never had a regular period in my whole life, me missing 2 periods didn't strike me as weird. I felt so off, dizzy and just having super focus on the babies I would see. Never took a test in my life and I took one,it was positive. I was already 2 months along and I was in complete shock. The baby I didn't think I could ever have and fully accepted that I couldn't was already growing inside of me for 2 months. My literal miracle, the father was told he couldn't have any more children either (he has 2 full grown kids from a pervious relationship ). Against all odds this baby is coming into the world. I can't wait to meet my blessing.

"Hyperemesis" (which she cites a possible cause of weight loss in pregnancy) is the medical term for excessive vomiting. Just in case anyone was wondering what that term meant!
Had that with second child. Horrible! Couldn't even keep sips of water down and ended up from 8 weeks on a drip in and out of hospital for almost half the pregnancy
I had that with both of my pregnancies. I was hospitalized 3 times, had iv infusions 3-4x a week. Throwing up 40+ times a day until 2 hours after I gave birth.
I had 10 negative pregnancy test, another one on the doctor visit. Everyone told me I'm not pregnant, also not much of symptoms. And guess what? I was pregnant. I knew i was since day one. I just knew. My doctor was surprised as hell. Also i had no bump until 33 weeks so until i gave birth not a lot of people believed me..
My husband stayed calm when our 3rd child came 5 weeks early at home on the bathroom floor. Our son came out still in his sack and we had to pop it and suck his nose. When the ambulance got there I walked down stairs with my baby and got on the stretcher and off we went.
I was 27 weeks when I found out about my daughter. I thought I had a kidney stone and it turned out i was pregnant and had a very bad UTI! She is 4 months now and perfectly healthy!
I had a negative blood test, prompting my dr to do many more tests including a colonoscopy and because my periods kept coming for 6 months we ruled out pregnancy HOWEVER, he is 16 years old and healthy, smart, and awesome
Am going through this all the tests are coming out negative and I do see my periods monthly but am surprised am gaining weight, bigger breasts, the line on my belly is getting darker what should I do please help me am so confused.
"He was so CALM!" 🤣🤣🤣 I noticed that too, lol. I think this husband has been through some hard times in life maybe. So much so that he's just like, "Welp, I can handle a surprise baby. That's nothing to get upset about, I can handle it." And he DID handle it, VERY well!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤❤❤
I hope that couple never divorces because that husband is extremely reliable and I hope the wife is feeling every ounce of love and gratitude for how he handled the situation.
My HCG levels weren't high enough to come up positive till I'm 3 months alone with all 5 of my pregnancies. None of my doctors believed me until they would do the ultrasounds and see how far along I was.

I gained 60lbs in pregnancy 😅😅 got told i needed to diet... i couldnt keep anything down except fruit and veg. I gained 60lb. And grew a 9lb baby on salad
This same thing happened to one of my friends. She was tiny before pregnancy, like 110lbs, and gained 80lbs while dealing with extreme morning sickness and only able to keep down apples and strawberries.
The stats of false negative tests just made me keep thinking about when I had a false positive when I was 17. Had a typical ER visit for a migraine with aura. Before they gave me the treatment they had to do pregnancy test, and it was the false positive (urine test, they said with urine tests, there’s a higher chance of a false positive). Needless to say, my mom almost had a heart attack. 😂
My boyfriend died in a hit and run and I had a pregnancy test done after experiencing a lot of nausea. They read results wrong. Told me I was pregnant and got like an hour in the waiting room with my cousin my mind was all over the place on how the hell I was supposed to raise a kid without him and how I was even pregnant when we always used protection and what the kid would look like and at least I was close with his sister so the kid would have family and oh the poor child wouldn’t have a father and he’d have been such a great one. Finally they cleared it up but l still did an ultrasound to be sure. Let me tell you that was not pleasant. And I also felt disappointed to not be pregnant while not really wanting to be. Grief and all.
I took a home pregnancy test the first day of my missed period and it came back negative 3 days later I went to get my birth control implanted and I told the doctor I was late they had to do a routine pregnancy test and it was positive. I was shocked and then went to Walmart and bought like 10 home pregnancy tests all of which came back positive....I was in utter disbelief for like 2 or 3 weeks until I got my ultrasound I now have a happy and healthy 18 month old boy
Dosen‘t u should take a pregnancytest 14 days after ur regular period was not coming? At least in germany it is written on the package. Cuz one day after u missed ur period can‘t tell u if ur pregnant or not cuz of hormones that have to increase over time
I would just like to say that as someone who’s 5 ft. and 95 lbs, (and spends a lot of time in hospitals due to chronic illness), this is literally how I get moved around, every single time. 😑
noticed that too. I also noticed she zoomed in like to show the stupid 3 cameras so you know it’s the best one too! that was uncharacteristic of her....
you'd be surprised how often companies give them things for free as long as they make sure to find an excuse to show it on TH-cam to advertise. especially because it was so uncharacteristic of her I am led to believe this is one of those times, and even though doctors do make large amounts of money they do hesitate to spend it until it builds up quite a bit because at any time they can be sued personally. something I had to deal with a lot with my mom being an ER nurse people were always calling and police officers would show up related to a case wanting to speak to my mom. the funniest time was when a police officer left his name with a reference that it was for mrs. Burbank. I was a terrified little teenager and thought it was for me! called the police officer and then he said he needed to talk to my mom... I laughed so hard! my mom wasn't thrilled though she had to go on record against a friend of hers. That's the shity part about being in the medical field!!!! well besides the stole samples...lol
I've heard of hook effect on a urine test, not a blood test.. That's weird. I never thought I'd be so happy about being a crockpot.. I'm going to go slow cook something. ❤ see you in 4-6 hours.
The "High-Dose-Hook-Effect" can appear in serum-tests too. That´s why most of the laboratory apparatus are only correct to a certain number of the parameter you test (limit of detection). So they will show the results above that only as "bigger than" (f.e. my machine will show the TSH >75 if it´s higher than that). For an exact result you´ll have to dilute the serum until it gets below the limit of detection (either per hand or some machines can do it themselves) and then count the number of the diluted result up to the correct end-result. That safety mechanism can only grasp in quality serum-test (where you get an actual number as a result) and not in quantity test (where you have only negative or positive - like most urine-tests are).
My mother had a negative pregnancy test when she was pregnant with me but the doctor told her there was no way she was pregnant if the test was negative so she didn’t know till the second trimester
I had my little girl in the car I’ll tell you it was so traumatic and every time I see a video like this I feel I can relate even though I knew I was pregnant 🤰
My sister-in-law didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labour. She went from a size 6 to a size 8 - she just thought she had put on some comfort/relationship weight. Got serious back pain so got an ambulance to the Hospital to be told she was in labour and will be having a baby that day. We were told it happens at our city hospital, at least 3 girls a month come in not knowing they are pregnant - so crazy!
My mom was 15 weeks before she knew she was pregnant with me and the only way she figured it out was with an ultrasound. They did blood work and urine tests but they all came back negative.
When my dad was a volunteer EMT many years ago, he responded to a call of a young woman having abdominal pains. He went through his routine and questions and asked her if there was any way she was pregnant. She was adamant that she was not. After his exam, he told her she was and helped her keep from pushing until they made it to the hospital.

Most mothers are cared for, and babies delivered by midwives here (a couple consultant doctor appointments) unless your are deemed high risk or having a c-section then you get a doctor. But there is always a doctor or two available in the maternity hospital if needed.

I’m A- too
Got Rhogham for bleeding early and having a SCH but told the OB doctor first appointment I wanted the fetal rhesus testing.
Billion to One unity NIPT screening , out of California testing after 10weeks
devyser - NIPT fetal rhesus screening, out of Rowell GA testing after 10weeks I believe
Of course we can only make the decisions with the info we have, and I didn’t have the test done before I had bleeding. The ER doctor said I’m in 10-30% risk of miscarriage, so praying everything resolves.
Hope this helps in the future. I plan on still getting the test done so I know if I need any more or not.

Wow she must have been so uncomfortable! Every pregnant woman I've known has been miserable that close to the due date.
What exam? 🤔

I shadow an obgyn and she told me it happens in about 10% of deliveries. It’s a hemorrhage.
Same thing happened to me. I had to have a blood transfusion from loss of blood.
I have this exact problem, they give me medication at birth to make my uterus continue cramping so I don't bleed to death.
I cant imagine how scary that would have been
Happened to me. Postpartum hemorrhage. In my case they also used an injectable medication to help me stop bleeding and I also received a transfusion. It’s relatively common unfortunately. Luckily modern medicine has come a long way and postpartum hemorrhage , which used to be life threatening, is usually easily managed.
Sometimes people take HCG as a diet pill. Maybe that's why her levels were high enough for a false negative.

Here's a RARE story for you:
When I was 6 weeks pregnant with my second child, I had a "miscarriage." I went to the E.R. with terrible bleeding.
Amanda Cypriano wow that truly is a miracle. I’m glad you and baby are okay.

Babies? Plural?
Helloooo! I don’t actually have anything meaningful to contribute but I’m just really geeked to find some fellow lab techs. 😄

Wow I never knew this could happen x
That husband definietly went places, that is why he was so solid about that moment. My respect.
I still wondering how woman who went through labor before cannot figure she is in labor? That is one unique pain you cannot forget
Apparently it can feel different each time.
If you had NO clue you were pregnant you wouldn’t think it was labor, you would
Think kidney stone or gal bladder.
EVERY pregnancy & birth are different. Mom of 5, last two were SO quick..
@@livindailylife5016 right! My gal bladder was extreme pain I didn't think possible
Mine was a dull ache and cramping was more like spasms. My son coming out was the painful bit.
I had my period until i was six mths pregnant. I found out i was pregnant at 13 wks cause i had a bump. I was also on bc when i got pregnant so it can happen not everyone is the same. My periods were never irregular and i wasnt heavy. Things happen i call it miracles
Really is your period are heavy
🙏
"Hyperemesis" (which she cites a possible cause of weight loss in pregnancy) is the medical term for excessive vomiting. Just in case anyone was wondering what that term meant!
Thanks! Sometimes I forget to adjust those terms!
Had that with second child. Horrible! Couldn't even keep sips of water down and ended up from 8 weeks on a drip in and out of hospital for almost half the pregnancy
Madison Sido thanks! I was wondering:)
I had that with both of my pregnancies. I was hospitalized 3 times, had iv infusions 3-4x a week. Throwing up 40+ times a day until 2 hours after I gave birth.
"We like science and sarcasm here..." BEST. QUOTE. EVER!
Basically the moment I decided to hit "subscribe" !!
I lost 30lbs during my pregnancy because of 5 months of morning sickness. 😭😭😭
Also I don't think men have any idea how strong the urge to push is.
Would you still monthly bleed?
@@giovro1198 good question. I'm curious too
My husband stayed calm when our 3rd child came 5 weeks early at home on the bathroom floor. Our son came out still in his sack and we had to pop it and suck his nose. When the ambulance got there I walked down stairs with my baby and got on the stretcher and off we went.
That is the most badass thing I've read this year. Damn, lady. You rock.
McCrea Family Homestead that's amazing an encaul birth is a wonderful thing
Wow you're Superwoman
Why did you go in the ambulance? At that point your doc should come to you and if all is well you stay home?
Hands-To -Work Dr's dont do house calls. Only a midwife would do that.
I have 5 kids, and never got a positive pregnancy test result. By about kid two or three, you learn to trust your instincts.
Wow that's amazing. So the first time....how did you find out?
Omg!
Did you still miss you period every time ?
I was 27 weeks when I found out about my daughter. I thought I had a kidney stone and it turned out i was pregnant and had a very bad UTI! She is 4 months now and perfectly healthy!
Did you have negative tests x
I had a negative blood test, prompting my dr to do many more tests including a colonoscopy and because my periods kept coming for 6 months we ruled out pregnancy HOWEVER, he is 16 years old and healthy, smart, and awesome
Am going through this all the tests are coming out negative and I do see my periods monthly but am surprised am gaining weight, bigger breasts, the line on my belly is getting darker what should I do please help me am so confused.
@user-tq9vn7zs5d say you are having stomach pain & go to the er. They won't do an ultrasound otherwise, but I'll say congratulations for them rn
@@marthazulu-j2z update?
I love how she always reminds us to be kind. It's something most of the world has forgotten today. Thank you Mama Doctor Jones.
Hey Claudia.. This is so interesting! How did you find out you were pregnant? And did you ever find a reason for the low hcg?
@@ginamarcianoI know when I'm pregnant from day one. I start puking my brains out. I end up with morning sickness 24/7 until I deliver. No doctor has ever cared enough to find out why my HCG levels are low when I get pregnant.
@@claudiafairbanks I'm so sorry the doctors haven't done more. From what I've gathered online, some women just never produce hcg in their urine. Do you think that could be true of you? Regardless, your body is incredible to of had 5 children!!! And to raise them as well. Truly amazing ❤️
@ginamarciano I will have to look into that further. I've had a hystorectomy since, and unfortunately, my body is completely out of wack.
@@mayadelaneys I hope she still likes apples and strawberries. Still, unbelievable!
I gained like 80lbs, but then again I ate ALL THE FOOD!!!
@@taylorg7079 currently pregnant and eating everything
I hypothesize that your body went into starvation mode and was holding onto any calories you consumed. Not a doctor or a scientist.
Make some pocket tshirts as merch with a tiny carrot on the pocket 😂
"She came home, took a bath, had a baby..." Yeah, just that kind of thing! ! 😂😂
Girls' night!
I had a false negative pregnancy blood test, lucky my doctor sent me for a scan and my little bundle of joy was happily chilling in there!
Omg really did u had period still?
The stats of false negative tests just made me keep thinking about when I had a false positive when I was 17. Had a typical ER visit for a migraine with aura. Before they gave me the treatment they had to do pregnancy test, and it was the false positive (urine test, they said with urine tests, there’s a higher chance of a false positive). Needless to say, my mom almost had a heart attack. 😂
lmao your poor mom
@@sonnenblumeag wow can't imagine the emotional trauma
I too recently had a false positive blood test that the ER doc did not read correctly. Fun stuff.
@@just1desi I am so sorry you had to experience that.
Cuz one day after u missed ur period can‘t tell u if ur pregnant or not cuz of hormones that have to increase over time
Proud crockpot who is not offended by science 😘
I would just like to say that as someone who’s
5 ft. and 95 lbs, (and spends a lot of time in hospitals due to chronic illness), this is literally how I get moved around, every single time. 😑
Me too
Damn she has the new phone
She’s a doctor, she got MONEY money
noticed that too.
That’s what I noticed too lol
Don’t mind me. Just dropping by to see the tiny carrot. 🥕😂
Someone needs to start a women’s metal band called Blood Pregnancy Test
My sister-in-law didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labour. She went from a size 6 to a size 8 - she just thought she had put on some comfort/relationship weight. Got serious back pain so got an ambulance to the Hospital to be told she was in labour and will be having a baby that day. We were told it happens at our city hospital, at least 3 girls a month come in not knowing they are pregnant - so crazy!
My mom was 15 weeks before she knew she was pregnant with me and the only way she figured it out was with an ultrasound. They did blood work and urine tests but they all came back negative.
Seems very common w boys from what I'm reading. Thank you for your account
This caused me to panic buy a pregnancy test
I had an extremely hard time getting pregnant. I lost 10 lbs then bam pregnant
It makes me happy to hear that she was still so excited to have her little girl even though she had no idea she was there
When my dad was a volunteer EMT many years ago, he responded to a call of a young woman having abdominal pains. He went through his routine and questions and asked her if there was any way she was pregnant. She was adamant that she was not. After his exam, he told her she was and helped her keep from pushing until they made it to the hospital.
