The reaction to vinegar depends on the person. I like it and sometimes swallow a chug or two for fun. (Too much can make you sick, it will actually cause acidosis and can potentially be dangerous, so even I can't just chug recklessly. For anyone as weird as I am, I do recommend washing it down with water as it can burn your throat if you just leave it there.) My dad on the other hand hated it worse than skunk smell. I assume he's the normal one. I'm not sure if I ever told him I actually drink it. Sadly, it's too late now.

I was working in the hospital and yes, we do sometimes leave a body in the hallway until someone has time for a morgue run. I was getting report one day out in the hallway and getting ticked at the lack of treatment for one of my patients. I started pounding on the “table” I was leaning on in frustration, as was the other nurse. It took us both a few minutes to realize what that “table” actually was! We were duly mortified! It did break up the tension though! 😂

Story 5. I used to be a server and, while I wasn’t the most tipped, I was one of the best at getting my job done with time management. Monday and Tuesday were my moneymakers because we had one section that was empty and when it got busy, I had a standing order with the hostesses that they would seat people in the closed section and I’d take them. Monday and Tuesday also had the four best hostesses (they knew the best way to space out tables and didn’t mind telling customers to wait five minutes to make sure I was at the best point in my process to take a new table. I affectionately called them “my girls”). One of those Tuesdays, I was training a server and I told her, “Okay. Tonight, our section is these two tables, and these seven.” The look of horror on her face was priceless. You could tell she was thinking, “Is that normal?”
I explained the situation and she calmed down. We were busy enough that she got to have her own two table section solo and did a great job. When training someone, they use your number on the computer, so you get the tips generated by them. We wound up making like $160 that night and my goal was just $100, so I gave her the excess $60.

Last Story: So I work in the medical field AND in the emergency care setting. One rule of thumb is if someone has a C-collar then there is a good reason why it is there. Unless the doctor says otherwise, its staying on and no it cannot be loosened if its on correctly, it's there to save your life not to be comfortable.
Everything else tho IMO is easier to correct for comfort. Like if the light was a problem, I would have just easily moved the stretcher over a bit or flipped it so your head isnt directly under it. Likewise could adjust the back of the stretcher to what they find as comfortable, and even show em how to further adjust it themselves.
Also yeah, idk what the nurses deal with the blanket was 🤨 other than another patient/visitor being dramatic. People like to cover themselves with the blankets all the time to rest. Noticably with alot of psych patients. If its not causing an actual problem, I see no other reason to care.

25 years ago, after doing my degree, I did a couple of jobs and somehow ended up working in politics (UK). After several years I was burnt out and the bullying of one employer (apparently 100 hours a week, upto 14 hours a day, often including Sundays) wasn't enough for her. So I went off to do boring office work.
I moved to a different part of the country, then I got involved with some local community groups. One local character was a councillor (local politician) and involved in a lot of the same groups but using them for his own edification.
We've just had local elections in England, and I volunteered to work my butt off so as to get someone preferred political party elected. The great news is that it worked, and now the immature idiot who used community groups and tried to involve me in some of his political shenanigans is no longer a councillor, his political party lost control of the town and district councils so they can't give his company any grants etc, and with that loss of status he's being sidelined by those community groups.
Okay, not as fun as some of the revenge featured here, but it has done my mental health the world of good. 😁

I picked up my Grandmother to take her to the drug store. It was raining hard on the way home. I was driving my 1968 Buick 225 electra. Visibilty was bad. I thought i was clear and proceeded across the street. I never saw the Red Bird taxi. It hit my back quarter panel so hard that it flipped my car completely around and it stopped facing the way that i had just come from. Cops and ambulances the hole deal. While i was talking to the officer, the ambulance was taking my Grandmother to get checked out (Pre seatbelt days). I turned back to look at my Grandmother and just lost my shit. They had covered her face with a sheet. I saw it and freaked out. My driving mistake had KILLLED my Grandmother! The officer had said, “Oh NO, sweetheart! They are just keeping the rain out of her face.” To this day, i hate driving or even riding in the rain. Everyone was well!

I work for the Red Cross, and one of our duties is to deliver extra blood/platelets/plasma to hospitals when they have an emergency, and their normal daily order and what they have on hand isn't going to cover it. We had such an emergency where they needed an even larger amount than normal, and as I'm wheeling the several boxes it's packed in, someone in the waiting room exclaimed, "Wow! That's a lot of blood!" Suddenly 10 medical professionals appear out of nowhere looking for the person they thought was bleeding to death. The person in the waiting room sheepishly explained and apologized, and the staff went back to what they were doing, very relieved.

Last story: Decades ago one of my teachers told a story about how her husband was in an accident on a remote logging road (deer vs car) and was stuck for 4 hours until another vehicle passed. This was pre cellphone and husband was trapped inside vehicle. When emergency services finally arrived and cut off the door husband walked to the EMTs for a check out but insisted he felt fine other than being stiff. Fortunately they forced him to be braced and transported to hospital. Turns out he cracked a couple of neck vertebrae, but 4 hours sitting upright caused them to fuse just enough that he didn't kill himself standing up.
tl'dr: When someone puts a neck brace on you, don't f* around.

Seriously, if any place is out of stock of something I want, I just pick the next thing I'm in the mood for that they do have. It's not that difficult to be a civilised human being, and to understand things happen that are beyond anyone's control, much less your own. Just accept, adapt and move on.

Similar to story 2, when I had gone to college I had gotten my own phone service and I got someone's old phone number. Maybe 4 hours after I had the phone installed I got a call from an older woman. I am male and as soon as she heard my voice she demanded to know where her daughter was. I explained that she must have the wrong number as I just got this number with my new phone service. She said sorry, hung up, and then called again. I tried to tell her that this was now my number, but then her husband got on and yelled that I need to put their daughter on now as I have no right stopping her from talking to them. I tried to explain to him that I had just gotten new phone service and this was the number given to me, so it meant that their daughter or whoever's name the phone service was in had changed the number. They would not listen to me and every evening they would call demanding to speak to their daughter. I eventually told them to either call the cops or to f*ck off before I have them charged with harassment. But they continued to call me.
I also started to get calls for appointments for the daughter's dentist and doctor. I tried to explain to the secretaries that this number was now mine and not their patients, but they continued to call me too. So I decided to have some fun with this. The woman's parents never called during the day so I gladly answered the phone and did a higher pitched voice so I sounded somewhat feminine. I then rescheduled all the appointments 4 days later and in the midafternoon instead of early morning. After that the appointment calls stopped. As for the parents I just started answering the phone either doing a random bad accent or answering as a random business (Mort's Mortuary, you stab'em we slab'em / Golden Touch Massage Parlor, we touch you just right ;) (said in a bad stereotypical asian accent) /Taj's Curry Palace, hottest curry in town (in bad Indian accent) / etc).

If I was a Delivery Driver, I'd buy a small, Very Good Quality video camera and make a recording of me approaching the delivery site and placing the package on the ground (or whatever I placed it on) every time I deliver a package that I can't hand directly to the customer...
That way, if someone tries a 'Gabe' on me, I can counter with a video recording of the delivery showing that any damage was already there when I made the delivery and I wasn't responsible and thus won't pay for it...

Related to the last story and not fighting medical personnel regarding neck braces, etc; I had a fall on some concrete stairs and was uncertain how badly I was injured. An ambulance was called. The emergency medical technician started asking me questions, including asking about injuries beyond the obvious. I have somewhat of a dark sense of humor, so I responded by telling him the returns were not in from all of the precincts. As I was lying with my head lower than my feet, The EMT needed to adjust my position. He explained what he needed to do and got my permission. He then told me to remember, if he hurt me, his name was (name of a particularly stupid politician of the day). I think humor and complete cooperation made the whole thing a lot easier for both of us.
Still, I was very relieved as the ER doctor examining me started mentioning things like "Okay, we don't need this neck brace, nor do we need this backboard."
Fractured nose, lots of scrapes and contusions and I got them to give me a scrub shirt so the friend picking me up didn't see my blood-soaked white blouse first thing upon arriving. It happened on my employer's company property and they paid all the bills. No, I did not consider suing because it was a chance accident and I felt they took proper responsibility.

Kept trying to tell me why the police could not arrest her because they were not wearing their covers and that made them out of uniform and other lots of other BS. Ugh, changing cell numbers. I've gotten everything from collection calls, to a call from a hospital that told me enough about the lady they thought I was that I could've stolen her identity if I'd wanted to. And no, I didn't ask, they just spit out all this information to try to make me _be_ the patient. Probably the most annoying was some weird creepy-sounding guy that was convinced my name was Jonathan and I was for some reason messing with him pretending not to be. I didn't realize this and thought he was just an idiot. When he finally revealed that, no, he wasn't making a mistake and actually didn't believe me, I cussed him out to prove that whoever I was, I damn well didn't want to hear from him anymore. And I never did again.
