You think giving 20% for two Dragons is ridiculous? I think it’s ultimately a smart move . She’s shown reasonable generosity & Touks is a valuable ally. let’s face it 2% was surely a joke.
Do you think? Depends how much input she wants. A business that turned over 800k+ last year, is on a run rate of $1.7m year - 100%+ growth AND is already profitable is worth a valuation of 2.5m

@@TomMackio Turnover is nothing though. She only had 80k profit on that turnover, and there's a limited market cap so its not like profits have infinite potential here. Ultimately a company's worth is only really in its profits for an investor, networth and turnover don't matter if the profits don't exist.
This woman got a lot of shade in the comment section. Don't know why people are so down on her, she did a great pitch, she had her figures straight, she kept her cool and is already on the road to success. I'm not sure I like the product, but she is really investable
She is super smart and not greedy. The gets both dragons, and avoid being a competition with one. Great woman

Considering she said at the start the company was worth 2.5 million. Half a million for 50 thousand, it’s crazy.

@keithwebster9131 This is a poor deal, if you have watched any other episodes you would realise they have fleeced her even by their own standards. The numbers and growth make it a very low risk investment, she could have got this investment for a lot less.

@@Ron.S. She got an offer for 10%. You dont have to be a negotiating genius to know that you can easily start at 5% each if she really wants both dragons. Touker probably would have insisted he wants 7.5% each at 15%. Going in at 10% each (total 20%) right away with an offer already on the table for 10% is factually terrible negotiating. She cut the value of her company in half compared to stevens offer without hesitation. Utterly bizzare.
Ask yourself honestly, do you think she could have gotten a better deal there? 100% yes.
I'd trade 20% of my business for the massive amount of knowledge on tap from two dragons. This is a sound business decision on her part.
@@swisspunker94 But Steven's expertise is in tech and apps while Touker's is in retail. She wanted Touker because of the retail contacts and Steven can help building her digital presence, website or app, and high-tech value. Having a retail expert is obviously more valuable to her and her business.

What I would’ve added on to the counter-offer is: 10% each down to 8, maybe 5, after 12-24 months, assuming investment was paid back.

They woulda snapped her arm off for 7.5 each. 1) Because its far better for Stephen. 2) Touker knows if he says no she has Stephen's original 10% offer and 3) Because with both of them it increases the value of the investment for both of them too, not only the entrepeneur.

Wonderful pitch. Though negotiation skills needs to be improved on. Getting both Touker and Steve is smart but I think 7.5% each would have been fair enough.

she clearly wanted touker from the start, he is already in the teeth business and has great contacts and by getting them both she got touker at 5% less than he offered while also getting steve on board to pump up the social media side and marketing. pretty smart to be fair and well worth the 20% give away ;)
The two dragons certainly adds more value, undoubtedly but I think 15% (7.5%) each was the better counter offer and would have been accepted.

Nothing new, pitched stated with talking about not being able to go the dentist and having bad sensitivity but she goes onto the cosmetic side of teeth and doesn't solve the pain teeth which was her original pitch. I wouldn't put money on her no new idea here

If some of her potential competition with far deeper pockets is invested in it, she might make far more than she originally would have. She doesn't have a patent
£80k profit isn't really a lot when she wants growth. To grow she will need to buy a lot more stock.

Because Dragons den is for small & new businesses asking for a small %, from alot of people who have little business knowledge. Shark Tank is for people that have business knowledge & a business that is already sized up. IMO Dragons den is a lot better because of that.
