Stand4 Socks is still operating with a net worth of about £185,000.00 in 2022.
Media Displays is still operating with a net worth of about £368,000.00 in 2022.
Tuk Tuk Chai is still operating with a net worth of about negative £17,000.00 in 2022.
Thank You!
thanks for this!
Good stuff baby
i need this for all the episodes lol
Thanks for this but it looks like Media Displays is now in Liquidation. Looks like they are running under a new company named Blue Sky Event Services.
3:07 literally IN TEARS at them all behaving like children and rolling around in a ball that is by far the best clip ive ever seen from dd
It is fantastic X3
that really made you laugh, christ.

Nick’s advice for the first guy was so swift but really good
Nick very often gives excellent advise B4 he goes out. He's a class act.
Nick?

You always see people laughing about the ones they missed on but 90% go into liquidation and they was right...
“I’m negotiating” 👏🤣
I think that’s my all-time favorite moment of this show
This is so pure.
Always happy when the rare gem of an unknown episode pops up for me. Thank you.
Ive seen it lots in the past but its nice you havent, great episode. People have to realise before they whinge about having seen episodes often, some have never seen them in the past lol
I really like James. Very polite and decent man
I believe Tuk Tuk Chai is the business Peter has referred to that is continuously losing money, but he’s still in, because he loves the product, the people involved are just great and the whole thing is fun for him. And I guess he stuck to his word and has been feeding money into it, despite the losses.
It really doesn't make ANY sense it's making such a loss! It's an original AND unique idea!
@@TheManInBlueFlames Original and unique doesn't equal good.
No they didn't take his investment in the end and went for a crowd funding instead
Rupesh and Alex Thomas appeared on Dragons' Den with Tuk Tuk Chai and secured a £100,000 investment from Peter Jones. But after the show, the couple turned the money down and went on to raise more than £275,000 through crowdfunding. They are now worth £3 m, and growing.
@@TheManInBlueFlames
A submarine made of icing sugar is original and unique too.

Does "dyslexic" mean something else in Britain? Because in America, our word for "without shoes" is "barefoot ".
they said stand 4 socks wouldn't do anywhere near 700k, he ended up doing over a million
Wow really?? Good for him but it just goes to show you don't really need an investment because you've got the best exposure of being on DRAGONS DEN..
Are you being serious? That is sooo amazing ❤😊

Latest companies house listings for Stand 4 Ventures shows 90k held in stock, 54k in the bank, and 40k owed. However they have done publicity saying they’ve made millions, so either business has dropped drastically in recent years or it’s just a moderately successful small business who like to talk up their success in the media
The issue with the gift card converter is that it would be perfect for money laundering...
Lol no, I work in AML and it would be the most obvious, traceable, inefficient way to money launder. You're what, laundering at most £1000 per card leaving behind a massive paper trail? Criminals have far far better ways
$ Laundering is expensive, give it to Trump...
How's that a problem
@@HK_Musician … legally if is

@@robabob1001peasant? That’s a bit harsh
Some of these people were really lovely, the couple, I like how the husband doesn't mind admitting not hesitating to turn to his wife for certain aspects I think they have a vrryrhealthy positive relationship
Also liked josh a lot, and that other gentleman that got that one drsgon!
The sock entrepreneur stole his idea from Shark tank, America, up to and including the buy one give one to the homeless free. This has been the most successful investment in Shark tank history.
Peter on the 1st one was savage or even somewhat brutal .
I dont understand a thing cuz of the pitcher accent (no offense)
I get his irritation. When a solicitor comes in with the mindset of outsmarting them to get their money, it has got to hit a nerve.
The gift vouchers idea was brilliant. With tv advertising they could easily change the way people think.
It's ripe for criminal exploitation. What ends up happening is people buy gift cards with stolen credit cards then turn around and sell them to sites like this to resell for much lower prices than the people with legitimate gift cards would reasonably sell them for. Gift cards that can be traced back through serial numbers (activated at point of sale) end up getting cancelled through creditor charge-backs when the fraud is detected. End result is only criminal sellers make money and legitimate buyers get scammed.
Money Laundering...
There's a company called card yard dping this making 100grand a year profit
Get the retailer on board and sell their cards and take a commission.
Money laundering. Makes it way too easy to start a money laundry.
And, the "cleaners" don't even have to buy a shell storefront.....
To be clear, then, Deborah totally agreed with Duncan in the end. (Pitch 2)
Funny how Peter shook Rupesh's hand and not Alex's, even though Rupesh made it clear that his wife was instrumental in the company's success.
there was a cut in the editing after the handshake, he usually does the kiss on the cheek with the lady's
If she is Muslim, then she can’t shake his hand.
Watching this makes me feel like i have a magic crystal ball!!
it doesn’t make sense. he’s paid himself 128k£, but says an investment of 80k£ would 3x his business. it just doesn’t make sense

Oh, the sock man is adorable 🤗
Except he completely stole every aspect of his business from the most successful business from Shark tank U.S.
There's one dragon he's got his eye on. Do I hear the name Peter wending it's way towards our conciousness? Of course! Not Peter I'll give you £10 million for 1% of your company. Peter I'll give you £1 for 99% of your company. Ooooooh, thats a tough one. I choose Peter!
the reason is....because im negotiating hahaah...brilliant
48:40 the entrepreneur clarifying that he’s “negotiating” is one of my all-time favorite moments from the show haha
That is so pure.
Lol. Not sure when this aired but the Canadian Dragons Den had a sock guy donating one pair to the homeless many many years ago! 😂
2nd business plan, I'm surprised none of them brought up money laundering. A gift card broker would inherently be dealing with a load of fraudsters, drug dealers, etc.
Best bit was the guy thanking Peter for saying their business will destroy them
I immediately thought, “Oh, so you want to create a market for gift card scammers.”
43:56 Theo's voice crack sounds like Autotune here
That's crazy
Tej goes out because of too much sugar in the tea..

First guy was nice. Knew his numbers well and was passionate, don’t know why Peter was being such a dick to him.
Or why Deborah said he was "spikey"
Ikr. Like dude if ur not interested, just say ur out. Idk why the dragons had Peter's back, he was instigating that whole thing.
Peter took a instant dislike to him for some reason
I think what Peter disliked was how misleading the guy was. He was trying to exaggerate how much business he was actually doing and that probably ticked off Peter Jones. The other Dragons were quite nice, but their point was more that he didn't really need the money, he could just save some money by not having a big office and renting vans while sticking to Scotland and get to his goal without any investment money.
In the end it dissolved anyway so it was a bullet dodged all around.
@@Lincolntowncoupe Yea, he wasn't spiky, he was just Irish (or whatever that accent was)
I have to say that I was very impressed by Ian with the marketing vehicles, more by Ian and his drive than with the business model.

48:39 Duncan the only one not amused 😂
I've never seen duncan amused. he scares me
Haven't heard a SINGLE thing about what businesses did with the second one, like this 'black market' thing was NEVER a problem! Gift cards are STILL going big!
And yet they dissolved in 2014
Dissolved a long time ago buddy
The black market around gift cards is gigantic, they're basically the currency of scammers.
The dragons only disliked it because gift cards bought but not used make them money.
Imagine Peter only invested so he could drive the Tuk Tuk
47:07 "This business is my children's inheritance". Theo must have regretted saying he's out once he heard that 🤣
Gift card converter was ahead of its time. They would cake today
Think of all that laundered money!
It pays to learn how scam artists work.
Completly tracable. Would make a poor money laundering scam
Just on Deborah’s advice to the first guy, “don’t push against investors”. Isn’t that what the entrepreneur is supposed to do to justify their business model? Deborah seems to think the dragons are untouchable and cant be argued with.
trying to justify your business model doesn't mean discrediting valid opinions and concerns.
25:00 Does this remind anyone else of Throx. (The guy pitching 3 socks to a "pair".)
😂😂😂😂 the back page killed me
21:01 Lmao that reaction! Its hilarious :D
The first guy looks like he's going to start crying... Lol
Duncan when Deborah disagrees with him 😂
The giftcard thing sounds smart but dang if thats not gonna be HEAVILY exploited by fraudsters
Deborah really shut down Tesh when he tried to talk in the tuk tuk one she just put him down BAD n Tesh didn't say anythin Deborah is GANGSTA LOL
It’s TEJ you muppet, they say his name a hundred times. TEJ.
I could have sworn micro fitness came to my school when I was in P4 😂
My brain melts when he wants to tackle obesity with micro-fatness (starting at 1:14).
Come on people, why are you including VAT in turnover! All figures must be exclusive of VAT (unless you don't get input tax on your expenses!). I'm amazed how ignorant of how VAT works these entrepreneurs are!
Jenny is OUT?! 😂
his third contract is just an empty page with a logo on it, he wants to sign???
Hearing Peter jones saying “ain’t” is unbelievable
Hi I'm Out, and because of that I'm Jenny!
The gift card idea is great but the dragens think people will care about terms and conditions its cute.
What accent is that? I like it! 😅
1:12 Yes we do it's called Mc Donalds
Enough internet for this week
No idea what year this one was!? But the largest scammers try to use gift cards it’s evolved too
Imagine giving yourself a salary 60k+ salary essential using any money made, instead of putting it in to the business
That micro fitness guy got some great advice particularly from Deborah but he didnt have his listening ears on. Seemed to have an odd sense of entitlement to their money.
Gift card converter dissolved 22 July 2014.
What is wrong with Peter sometime. He was not listening to the first guy at all, just interrogating endlessly
That is Why he is a dragon😅
Peter is right
“I came to this country with nothing……just 600 pounds…” Wow, he’s practically Jesus.
The gift card thing is weird to me. Was it cause of the country they’re in? People and sites buy and sell gift cards in the states. Legit businesses in strip malls open up for it
Money laundering
Deborah’s fingers need their own show…..
Isnt Tuk Tuk from Thiland??? Rickshaw is Indian isn't it?
Do some more research on a Tuk Tuk, and Rickshaw, and for that commented post; 'I'm Out' !! 😂
I visited a factory in India where they make tuk tuks.

3:04 LMFOAOOOO
Ian negotiated from a 45% dropped to 35% if hitting target … to a 45% dropped to 40% if hitting target
45 to 40 if he got 40k profit by the current year-end(Year 0 in business). And then 35% after year 1, and 25 after year 2.
Can anyone offer any follow up on Tuk tuk chai? Did Sainsbury’s ever comment? Cuz that was bizarre
“An introvert walking into a bar” 👀
With the gift card converter, the company that that gift card was purchased from won't care less if it isn't redeemed, because they got paid anyway?
In a way yes, but also hjaving a giftcard means more foot traffic, especially to a store that the holder may not have originally considered, and if they use it they may find that they really like said store and become a return customer. I felt this way with Adidas, I came in when I got a gift card but I found that it was one of the few stores to have shoes in my size and their pants were quite comfortable. Now I'm a repeat customer.
@@TheDirtysouthfan That is a good point !!
Peter dislikes anyone who is within his field if he thinks they're competitive.

The 'I'm negotiating' was very Yorkshire. 🙂
What is tuk tuk chai worth?
Today, he also owns a second home worth around £350,000 in Croydon, south London; his chai tea business Tuk Tuk Chai is worth around £2 million and he is considering taking on outside investors. He has also invested in other businesses, including a laundry factory in Kerala, India.Apr 20, 2018
I have no use fr India but greatly admire the tea people and wish them luck.
Visit India. I have been twice and loved it.
If you're able to remember to sell a gift card, you're able to remember to just spend it yourself. That's the central flaw they can't get around.
They'd need someone who has a gift card, but does not want ANYTHING at the store they have...at which point the person would have to be willing to sell it for a significant loss, and it to be worth the effort, and not just throw away the probably 25-50 bucks.
Like, I don't like Talbot's. But if I got a 50 dollar gift card there, I could go there and just get $50 worth of SOCKS. My mom might not like gamestop, but, she could keep it and then buy something for me or my brother for Christmas SOMEDAY.
They've done psychological tests that, when people acquire a good, they hate trading it for equal value, and would much prefer DOUBLE said value.
This playtoy guy is attractive and has a great Glaswegian accent! 😊 But he definitely didn't come with facts to succeed.
Gift vouchers suck just give people cash
For real, one of the most annoying gifts. Especially when the card is a solid number like 100 and everything in the shop ends in numbers like .59 etc.
The scamming industry took.the gift card idea
Before today I had never seen these people. Now my TH-cam feed is full of thumbnails and I can tell you without a doubt that if you practice the art of daily brisk walking all of the thumbnails going forward will look much different/better.

oooh oooh thank you mr peter.

At last, socks I can wear to have beers and do yoga in. A much neglected gap in the market
Peter Jones the Autowala
19:35 That's insane, I've never heard of a company that requires a gift card to be used only by the first person it was gifted to. Is that a British thing? How do they even verify that, is the buyer required to provide the personal information of the person they're giving it to and then the recipient has to show their government ID when they use it?
Also, one of the dragons said the concept wouldn't work because the seller would expect to get the full price of their card and the buyer would want a discount. That's ridiculous. The point is for people to swap a gift card they don't want for a card that they do. They shouldn't get a discount on the card they're swapping for. The seller would need to sell it at a loss though so the site could make money but I'd rather get $45 for a $50 gift card I won't use and use that money to buy something I want instead of $0 for a $50 gift card that's useless to me.
