@@briankelly5816 Here in the UK, the party wall between houses can withstand heavy fire for one hour. In reality, it is nearer to three hours.
Adjoining houses are evacuated only due to the risk of smoke inhalation or the possibility of a gas explosion.

So glad everyone was rescued by your police but very sorry for homeowners' loss of their home. We had a tour of Caernarfon just about one year ago although I'm sure we didn't see this particular house. The fact that we were so recently there made the impact greater because Caenarfon and everyplace we visited in Wales is lovely. Just wish the economy could get better for folks there.

In 1997 my neighbours house suffered a fire and my neighbour, Eleanor Cook, to the other side of me was caught laughing and joking about it on a camcorder recording of the event.
She shouted to her husband, Alan, "go get some tetties Alan and we'll do some baked tetties".
Next day I overheard her saying to Ronnie & Cathy how sad and upsetting it was to her family watching their home go up in flames.

3 to 5 minutes from time of call the West Mids fire service achieve, the bonus of a urban are I suppose. You'd be dead if you was trapped in that house, 8 mins before first appliance and thats from start of recording and not from start of fire. Possibly retained firefighters so it can take upto 5 minutes for them to leave station.

Thanks for watching and commenting. You are absolutely correct, the tenant of the property was upstairs when the fire broke out and made it down the stairs and out of the door only seconds before the landing was consumed by the fire, so yes had she have counting on rescue by the fire service they would have been too late. I will however point out that had the outcome been different I would not have uploaded the video, thankfully everybody was fine, property can be replaced, lives cant.

Yes it took some time for them to arrive and although the fire had died in intensity it was still far from out. They were on scene for about 5 hours plus they were called back the following morning when the fire reignited, they were on scene for a further 3 hours pulling out loft insulation that had ignited and dampening down further.

Probably an “on-call” station that isn’t crewed full time, which is common place in the UK. Firefighters alerted by pager, respond to the station from home or workplace, that can take 5-6mins, don PPE and turnout.

@@beckytwister01 The Fire Station at Caernarfon is Day Crewed between Midday & 10pm and On Call the rest of the time, as the fire occurred at 9.30am on a Sunday it would have been the On Call crew attending, they have to paged in from Home or Work and travel to the station, get kitted up and then drive to the incident. They have 5 minutes to turn out from the time they are called so really they were there quite quickly.

Some people don’t understand the on call firefighter situation. On call firefighters respond via a pager which alerts them to get to the station can take five mins to get to station depending on traffic then don PPE and leave. It’s just as frustrating for the firefighters who want to get there quicker. Overall if it wasn’t for on call firefighters in small communities we would be waiting longer for pumps to arrive from wholetime stations in bigger communities

The fire personnel can’t put on their seat belts properly, plus it isn’t safe to because if they were to get into a accident they would be thrown with all the weight on them breaking possibly their back or necks, here is a example for you try taking the biggest back pack filling it with can goods and putting it on in your vehicle and putting on your seat belt, I have seen a accident where seat belts weren’t used and unfortunately there someone was seriously injured and wasn’t thought to have made it, after spending many months in hospital he had to learn to walk again but never returned to work, I remember this very clearly because it happened around my Birthday a few years ago

Fire fighters don’t just run into buildings with their BA’s on, the situation will be risk assessed first

    • @nick6584

firefighters dont just run into a burning building for no reason, if occupants are accounted for then a more thorough plan will be made to either save the building or rpevent spread to a neighbour. Believe it or not, they actually form this strategy whislt standing outside assesing the situation rather than from the inside of a burning building.

@@nick6584 if this is true then they need to do some more training. Here in our county in Tennessee , a house fire is treated as occupied until we complete our search. It’s happened several time where the home owner said everyone is out only to fine more occupants inside. Get off the truck packed up , stretch a line and get that primary search done fast.
