Normally I would just take that win but I also prospected and got a dozen additional referrals that could conservatively generate another $10M in gross sales. Consistency is so crucial in business. The real estate market is constant peaks and valleys, it's easy to get discouraged when things are down and let our work effort drop. What you said about continuing doing the correct things, just do them more often is spot on!

Not sure if you have done this before but I think it would be cool to see a video of you back in your old home town and just to show the "where I came from" and maybe take stops at the store you ran out of when you had your card declined etc. The stories you give are great, but I feel like to see the physical reality just adds to your own story. Like in the book you've covered different people and events and to see it in its actual form is pretty interesting! Reminds me of the reliable, proven, “dollar cost average” technique of investing. Maintain your course during periods of volatility & downturn. If you’ve been investing $500/ month into the market for the past year, keep investing even as the CNBC hosts freak out. You’ll just get more shares of stock per dollar. The same parallel can be said for real estate.

cramnkey13469721907 Look for banks and other financial institutions that are highly diversified and are strong in several areas. And be open to trying an area you wouldn’t have necessarily thought of - banking isn’t just trading floors and IPOs. There’s operations, service, consumer/retail, treasury, product development, compliance/risk, etc. And also be open to relocating or starting in a location that isn’t necessarily NYC or another big city - it doesn’t mean you’ll be there forever. Take the time to learn, be interested in other people and figure out how the various pieces of the company work together. There is plenty of opportunity in banking and finance, I assure you.

Yes for sure those are all great areas in finance too but I'm currently trying to break into either i-banking or equity research. If I fail, I will surely look into investment management/CF/risk mgmt. too. They are all great jobs

I see the key is meeting new people and building that data base. Would you go about the same way in more residential towns outside of city life? I have difficulty meeting new people in this environment as people are home and go to work and home again. Where can i meet new people as i am not in a city? Or is cold calling the better option?
