I have just been focusing on being the best father to my kids. My issue is everyday has taken a toll on me because my wife is proceeding with a divorce and is constantly angry at me. On a very tiny scale, I have really learnt to NEVER make ANY decision- from buying a high end purchase, or making a career decision for at LEAST 48 hours. Literally sleep on it. And not just 1 night. Make it 2. So you don't make the most stupidest decision of your life!

My advice. Just stop watching the news, listening to politicians and following the financial markets. The real important things you will still hear from others. It will reduce stress and anxiety big time! Be in the now. Politics and the markets are like a neurotic little child. It overreacts all the time. It is like listening to people in a mental asylum. And I do not recognise myself in your description. Sometimes I have no clue what weekday it is and there is not a lot of difference between one weekday and another. Calendars and the concept of time are the biggest social construct we live by. People think it is part of reality, but it is not. It was invented and changed and re-invented. We only know the time because of a device we claim some Dutch guy has invented centuries ago called a clock. And calendars, we have as many as there were empires. We have a Mayan one, a roman one that we still use and many more. We used to have 10 months and then two Roman emperors who wanted to be 'immortal' decided to have their own month. So what are you letting yourself decide what to do in every moment? Something invented centuries ago? Yes of course it is practical for planning meetings and catching trains and busses. But do we really need it to guide everything?
You are so correct I use to live my life by so much fear and taking chances. But I decided that life is too short and I began to live my best life and I have never been happier. No more living with so much regret is how I started thinking. I feel like everyone else and it feels pretty good. No more hiding from the world.
