Peter Tuchman is no stranger to the camera. He stepped on the floor of the NYSE in 1985. Now he's the face of the market's best and worst days. Tuchman's experience on the floor goes back decades and includes significant events in the market's history such as Black Monday (1987), the financial crisis of 2008, and even the coronavirus pandemic. As technology and the business of trading evolved over the years, Tuchman says he's had to adapt and reinvent himself.

Just to let you guys know. The software/broker they use to trade is completely different then retail brokers. They actually get in depth look (real time trades). Compare to retail brokers. The advantage for hedges and NYSE are insane! I wish I had access to this or wished to even say I got into the NYSE! Peter. Could I come visit!

Definitely get Peter on here as much as possible. It's rare to get honest advice from guys like this. Typically mainstream media can talk to them, but they ask questions of little to no value. You guys can do a lot combining your knowledge and experiences.
Only a few investors buy stocks at discount during bear markets. All other investors buy at a premium during roaring bull markets. as for stocks to buy I've loaded up my portfolio with numerous tech stocks, the likes of AMC are the least on my mind now.

Peter!!!!! Started trading 8 mos ago, I finally have become more consistent and had my first ever all green week! The hardest easy money I ever made. I'd like to know his take on supply/demand price action or if he has a "go to " setup he looks for
There is no "go to" setup because markets NEVER move in such standard way for us to rely on a standard "go to" setup. The markets will move wherever it wants even if all the stars align. Change that mindset first. You tackle the markets differently each and every day based on current markets conditions.
Question for Peter: How can someone go about becoming a floor trader?

That's a big YES for Peter. It would be interesting to shadow him for a day, like a bird on his shoulder and see what that looks like. Not to see the specifics of transactions, but just physically what he's doing minute by minute. Does he plan his day? Are there specific activities that he has to do or needs to on a daily basis? Those are things I'd like to know.

Love his personality. But he is retail enemy. People on the floor have instant access to info and they need new money (retail) to enter so they can be on the opposing end of your trade. It is a zero sum game.

Your advisor, Lisa, is taking too much risk in your portfolio (or your late father’s) if you’re up 160% in last 2 years when S&P 500 if lucky enough to go all in and bought at Covid low and held is maybe up 100% tops and that’s if sold at 4800 top!!

If you are Peter and you are seeing this. I would like to give you two middle fingers way up! Why? How dare you call it a free market when your industry has things like the PDT rule to limit the retail trader’s participation in the market. Truth is, PDT actually CAUSES many traders to lose money because they often hold on to stocks for much too long because they are being mindful of their trading limit for the week. Everyone knows that “bag holding” a position Intraday is a recipe for disaster. The markets need to be truly freed, and the dictators need to disappear!
