You are welcome Pete. It sure has been a lot of work and discovery on this model to get it right. I am not sure if I will ever make such a detailed build video again as most of the other AMT kits don't have all the issues that this kit does. I am looking at attempting the AMT 1969 Dodge Daytona (With nose, filler pieces and wing) as the next kit, and I have already figured out what I am going to try to do to make the troublesome nose fit on...but after that, the rest of the kit fits well together, and the only other issue is the excessive flash on the parts. But now that second troublesome kit seems easy compared to this Ford.
If you use the dual carb set up with the dual carb airfilter prepare for removing around 2mm in the hight of the setup(manifold,Carbs and Filter) to make the hood fit!(ah,just came to the part where you adresse it 😉 )And iam just doing the interior details because the doorpanels dont look at all like on the real car!Very fiddly and time consuming!
For sure on those door panels. Again though, I am just building this to the point where the average Joe can get the pieces to fit and so that I can get all the issues resolved. I should get another and do an all out, engine wired, inner door panel parts and whatever else to really jazz it up version. I'd also like to do a dragster, now that I sorted out that all those parts are still in the kit to some degree. Maybe use the dragster decals from the 1966 Galaxie kit on there too.
New subscriber here. Really enjoying your videos and the little details and facts along the way. Those 428 cj heads were made that way to get heat out of the heads and chambers. I have a friend with two of them sitting in his garage. He and his brother were really good on the local strip with those engines.
Thank you for subscribing and the wonderful story. This kit is taking me a long time to build, simply because 97% of the parts need modification for them just to simply fit together. Hope you can survive to the last video!
I wonder if that was for the street machine version and someone decided on doing the dual air cleaner as a last minute idea, or if it was first introduced in the oval track "Modified Stocker" racer. Sadly, I wasn't able to find the instruction sheet online for the Modified Stocker to compare it too.
You mean there's a part 5? What's all wrong with this kit? Seriously though, if you plan on doing a NASCAR version, you're better off grabbing parts from one of the polar lights Talladega or cyclone versions - I do like the amt TorinoTalladega bodies better than the PL Talladega and Cyclone Spoiler- I heard them kits don't go together too well either (I could be mistaken) Thank You again for showing this to us
It gets worse! I am working on Part #6 now....but it's the final put-together of both cars. If you made it through Parts 1-4, you are doing well. You are seeing that there is a lot wrong with this kit, and hopefully I am getting all these issues resolved. - This project was more than I expected. I don't think I've experienced a kit with so many issues to it, apart from the one Polish WW2 Monoplane aircraft kit I built in the 1980's. That kit had a 2 part fuselage where the left side was shorter than the right side and the wing had a top, bottom right, middle and left wing and the gaps were huge! Anyway, my regular model car build videos are usually 1 video 35-45 minutes long. This kit made me make 6 of those videos! - Yes, it has issues, but I can get them resolved. The final builds will be great!
I love all the extra facts and history you've provided and the inclusion of real car photos. Many handy hints for the build. Well done Trevor 👍😃

Between you and Trevor, I'm learning a lot.👍. Are you trying to make a correct factory stock car,Willi?
Great Hobby videos!! I am a new subscriber...
Welcome aboard! I have a whole Tips and Tech section of videos if you need them.

right - careful which way up those heads go
For sure! Thank you for watching.
The twin carb filter, that is not NASCAR. What do you think they were trying to make?

The kit has come up for sale,on eBay here.coincidentally,😃
Nice! Does the seller show the instruction sheet?
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage no,just the front page😣. I can't afford to buy the kit🤔😭
It does have lots of photos of parts. It has single carb manifold and chrome airfilter with the flap.👍.

The people say that the Polar Lights Torino and Cyclone kits have a bent up nose section that occurs at the front wheel openings, btw.
