Nice looking 40 Ford kit.👍
Thanks 👍 She's a sweet-heart for sure!
Well done! A tip: the rams horn exhaust manifolds are cast iron and were not painted! I'd paint them flat brown to simulate rust. Also: the gas tank is in the rear. You can see the 2 straps on it. I'd paint it steel. The thing you thought was the gas tank is just a deep part of the trunk! Plz don't take my observations as criticism! I've removed a few gas tanks in my time! Cheers, ...Newk from Kentucky
Thanks for the tip! I have a few of these kits, so I will remember your input when building the next one.
I remember Pactra enamels. They were my favorite paints in the 70s, especially the International series. Pactra acrylics are still sold in Poland.
That is cool to know about Pactra Paints. I thought they were out of business decades ago. I think I still have one of their bottles somewhere.
Awesome review Trevor! I built the convertible version of that kit last year! Painted mine a maroon with a leather brown interior! I want this version!
You are welcome. It is a cool little beast.
Nice little unboxing/review Trevor. Thanks for sharing.
You are most welcome!
That was an excellent review and unboxing of this Revell 1956 Austin Healy! I love how detailed it is. When I think Austin Healy, Home Improvement comes to mind because that was the first time I heard of that car! I definitely loved the story about your Uncle’s and his. Sorry for loss Trevor!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked the review!
Stripes are sloppy! Rework or Remove! ...Newk from Kentucky
Glad you like my stripes so much. Hope they didn't trip up your ADHD too much!
You forgot the mpc fire chief 40 ford snap kit
Ah yes...I did forget about that MPC kit.
The handle on the dashboard is the parking brake handle.
Thank you for that!
You're welcome. These are things that I know because that is just like my full size 1941 Tudor sedan project car. They also had steering column locks in the yoke. 32 to 48 had them@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
Thank you, Trevor, for showing this I've got one in my lineup to build as a modified stocker circa in the early 50s - got a few spare parts I'm going to add to it so it won't be box stock
You are welcome! That sounds like a cool project.
When is the next video coming out? Love It!!
Thank you. I'm not sure. We hit winter time out here in Alberta, so painting might be an issue.
Great review Trevor 👍😃. I hope you find a car to put that straight 6 in👍😃. Although I bet you get loads of people wanting one🤔
Thank you Pete. I'll find a place for that 6 for sure.
Great job on the '63 Ford (with what you had to work with). I so dislike the raised "seams" on ALL kit chrome bumper ends. No real car with beautiful chrome bumpers has an ugly vertical raised scar at each end of the bumper when viewed from the side. I always sand the chrome raised blemish down smooth and either attempt to cover it up with Motolow chrome pen or Bare Metal Foil. Glad i found your tutorials.
I am happy that my videos are helping you out. Those bumper vertical seam lines are a pain. I try to remove them when I can.
This would look good with Gotham PD livery on it.
For sure! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for the video! My grandfather just passed away and he would always put cars together. My brother and I are going to put this box together in his honor; we have no idea where to start. What would you recommend getting to pair with the box set? Sanding sheet, paints, and glue? Any tips are appreciated! We are in way over our head here lmao
I do have a lot of tip and tech videos on this channel. Check them out sometime!
Best tutorial online. I'm getting streaks when painting, i think I'm heavy handed. Thanks for the tips
You are most welcome!
Storage access.
Glad you liked the video!
Nice review of a very interesting subject 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice Build Trevor, Thanks for Sharing. I Like Brown interior. Like wearing a Nice pair of Brown Leather shoes with a Blue suit, Just Works
Glad you like the look.
I always love bigblock Chevy engine I have a pipe dream to owe a 1970s ss Chevelle I know it will never happen what is your fav. Car would love to own please reply thank you
1951-54 Packard. Black hardtop.
what dose it cost to start a hobby shop can you tell me i'm so sorry about your hobby shop dose it take a lot of money to get one started I would love to owe one your lot smarted then you know I wish I knew what you know
It's not really the money (as in "how much to open a store"), it's all about your business plan. You could start a very small hobby store in a flea market booth with a pencil and paper receipt book or go big and open a chain of stores that include a Point Of Sale computer tracking and scanning system. You could also plan to scale up, starting small and growing big over time. It's all what you envision for your plan. That being said, you also have to consider the costs of renting a building, paying the utilities, like light, heat, telephone and internet. Once you have those things, you need "Furniture" like display shelves, showcases, a sales counter, a stool, and then the electronics, like a cash register, interact machine, store computer and if you want a little in-store kitchen to cook your lunch (Or maybe food for customers which would then include getting a food licence.) You also need to get a building permit to do any renovations, a permit to put up your business sign and a yearly business licence. If you want to join a Chamber of Commerce, then they also have a yearly fee. In addition, you also need to buy inventory to fill your shelves, so that you have something to sell. An accountant also helps out.
how much is it
I am not selling this one. Sorry Wayne.
Very cool Trevor.
It sure is! In the future, I will return there to get stuff for the store.
Nice load of T's. It's pronounced Bew Lee. It hosts a lot of events I'm sure you'd enjoy and has a very large motor museum. I'm going to try to make seat like that for 53 Ford F100. Great variety of things in this video,Trevor 👍😃
Thanks for the info! - John had a ton of models. In the future, I am going back up there to buy some for the store.
Sweet finds on those older kits. That's a great find of old kits and magazines.
I think so too!
Great finds! I'd like to do a booze hauler myself! 😄🍸🍺🥂🍾 🥴
You can do it!
Nice kit adds. Thanks for sharing T
Thanks for watching!
keep up the great work Mr. monster
Thanks, will do!
good looking model mr' monster nobody helps no one you can't help thank you any how you build one for me thank you Mr. monster
Will do.
I love to have one but I can't afford it its a nice one too i'm losing every my house now I wish I had help but know one cares I need a tent to live in what the hell knows ones cares so why should I care
I wish you a speedy recovery.
I can;t afford it
Some of these old kits can be pricey.
Рекомендую приобрести еще один набор, который выходил совместно с этим Адмиралом - Mersedes Benz G4. Большая и очень крутая машина!😎👍
Yes. That was one i was looking at. The 6 wheeler used in parades by Mr. H.
Love those old magazines that explained everything.😊
Me too!
A very entertaining and thought provoking video. Do you feel there is significant loss of detail when using brush on paints due to film thickness? While hobby shops are thin in my area, almost any retailer carries Testors enamel, although nothing else. When using brush on paints and masking, will enamel leave more of an edge over acrylics. I have a airplane I'm finishing and due to bad decals on a tail section, I'm left to my own devices and painting a tri-color rudder, I'm looking for the best results before selecting paint.
Certain paints will be thicker and plug up details, even when sprayed on. The best way to find out is to test it for yourself. enamels can lay down thinner than acrylics, but take longer to dry. It all depends on your preference.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage Thanks for the info. I have a AMT 34 Ford Truck I may try your technique on next.
Great review, Trevor. I just checked my body,it's ok but my steering wheel is damaged😭
That is interesting Pete. I sold a new one of these to a friend, sealed in the box, and it had the same issue. Maybe it was a bad location on the parts tree for the steering wheel when they pulled the parts out of the mold?
@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage I think it's why they started putting them in seperately🤞
@@petesmodelcarcustoms584
It's a promotional smp or AMT it's made of the plastic they used before styrene, they warped after time, like the early jo-han promo, you can find them on scalemate
You are correct. Was the plastic called Acetate? Or was it Lucite? That's what I was trying to remember as I was verbally fumbling over my words. LOL!
@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage acetate I believe
Yes, I remember reading about it, but I ended up forgetting what plastic it was.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage if it's not warped to bad you could make a resin copy they are a little pricey if you find one I seen 57 4 door wagon and 55 2 door wagons on eBay every once in a while. I would like to find a 56 210 4 door wagon resin body
@@brianlewis6926 Resin copy would be good.
i remember those magazines from back in the day... pretty collection of 57 Fords...thx 4 sharing.. vinny
You are welcome. There will be a part 3 coming next Friday.
I love the old model car mags. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching. I tried to mix the video up with magazines and models to keep it interesting.
Hi there mate i have made two door 57 no mad i made it in a 4door it work out very well mate
Sounds good. At least I have a model to use as a pattern.
Beautiful work. Next time, use your hobby knife on the body panel seams between the layers,. It will avoid the buildup of paint and this "roundness " of them and help to definne the body.
So dig out the panel lines a bit between coats? I will give that a try.
Another nice unboxing Trevor! It would definitely be better if most of these Aoshima kits had a detailed engine.
Agreed! - Glad you liked the unboxing. Still, those traffic cones are cool.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage Those traffic cones are definitely a nice addition!
@@johngligo4049 For sure!
Do you think I'll need a moisture trap or does that filter do the job?
The filter should work, but a moisture trap wouldn't hurt as a back-up. You'll have to test that one out for yourself though.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage thanks, hopefully it'll work. The hose is a 1/8 nps but the master craft in-line oil and moisture separators all seem to be 1/4 not. I'll keep you posted!
@@brynmorepayne1465 Hopefully there's an adapter.
i want that kit so bad its so hard to find i had that kid years ago but i ruin it because i wasnt goet at building models but now i got better so if i ever come across that kit again i buy it in heart beat did you know that model kit came off a video game call back road racers
Nice! I did not know that. Hopefully you can find one of these on Ebay or that Revell will re-release it in a new edition.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage ya the game was base off 4 model you could buy off video game one was the malibu mustang cuda and 1966 chevelle game call backroad racers
You make it look easy, Im brush painting parts on 70 Barracuda now and used enamel on engine and it turned out not so great lol
You can do it! - just keep practicing. I've had 42 years to prefect my skills. I just hope my lessons can help others.
Great unboxing. Thanks for sharing Those "smalls" magazines are a blast. New and old Please show more.
Next week is part 2. There are 3 parts in total....then I will be unboxing individual kits.
Cool stuff Trevor.
Sad to lose a friend, but I sure did get a lot of stuff. There is 3 parts to this collection. Next Friday video 2 will release.
