- In this video I am going to share my present carburator tuning which is working very efficiently for me in terms of fuel economy and performance on my TVS Apache RTR 200. We will also clean the carburetor exteriors with the cleaner. This carb adjustment process should take around a minute if you directly follow the instructions.
A well tuned carburetor will give you good performance, improved mileage, increased engine life and will solve cold start problem.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
1. Remember you present carb setting.
2. Engine should be properly warmed up before you start working on the carb.
3. The Nikavi carb cleaner should be used on a cold surface (flammable contents).
4. Be gentle with the pilot/fuel screw don't press too hard.
5. If you are making changes by turning the fuel/Pilot screw from the mentioned point (the screw position I have shared) then don't turn the screw for more than 1/4 turn at a time (actually it should be less than 1/4 turn every time).
6. Loosely explaining: Clockwise rotation of fuel/pilot screw is for the leaner side & Anti Clockwise rotation of fuel/pilot screw is for richer side.

I have a 2 year old rtr 160 and i have having mileage(30 kmpl) issues all of a sudden. Fuel nut is set at little less than 3 turns and idling at 1100 to 1250. No oil leakage anywhere around Carburettor and there is no thick smoke coming out. What might be the issue?

Hello Sportstourer..I had adjusted my carb few months back as you said and it was quite an easy process. The bike is running perfectly well but after about 6 months of usage on the same tuning, I want to readjust by turning a quarter turn more than previous setting.I am not being able to do so because it is stuck on the same place..I am not being able to turn it on either direction..What might be the reason and how can I resolve this? Would appreciate your help!
To make sure if you tune it right is to run your motorcycle 15-30 minutes after tuning then let the engine cool down then remove your sparkplug then check the tip IT SHOULD BE RUSTY BROWN if its black you are in Rich setting if there's no color your in lean.

Hi I'm using ns200 and from past 1 month I'm noticing a lag while riding. When I'm around 3000 to 4000 rpm I notice this lag. Before this issue started I had cleaned my Carburetor. Then after doing some research I found that if there a gap between the intake and the carburetor hose that might have create leak and the air fuel ratio might be disrupted. But i made sure that the carburetor was fitted properly. Once I did that it seemed like the issue was fix for a week but again I'm facing the same issue. Please can you help me with this?

I own a Honda Hornet 160r I want to ask why does the engine idle speed fluctuate when the engine is hot. If it is set to 1.1 then if I ride in traffic it increases to 1.2 to 1.3. And when the engine is cold it comes back to 1.1. Can you help?

My RTR 200 was sitting in a place for 5-6 months, I did it's servicing but it was not giving the mileage as it used to give before... So today I thought of tuning the carburetor... My default Carburetor air fuel mixture screw setting was 2 complete revolutions open.... Now I have Opened it with 2.8 revolutions.... Hope it gives some positive results.

Bro I having suzuki fiero I take the bike for river crossing the bike get half in side the water and after the bike get turn off and I pull the bike out and thy to start it will take more then 15 Kick to start after I stop the bike in rain after the same issue and I turn the engine on and bring it back to home the problem is still have in my bike( I try to put the chock and kick nothing happens)

Bro I am facing a problem in my Apache 180 that, 1st my rpm is fluctuating and at cold start the rpm has to increase by 2 turns and after the engine warms up it again shows high rpm and it is rising automatically.. I have installed a new carburetor recently but it shows the same problem.. and at higher speed if I realise the throttle and pull the clutch completely then engine automatically off .. what to do bro please help🙏
Hi, its about my fz16 2009 model, if I put it in side stand and leave it for 3-10mins bike doesn't start, but starts rich after long try..but starts normal after 15 mins or above...pls give me a solution, overhauled the carb and it's a new carburetor, just 3 month old. All settings I have tried but it's not working, tried in authorized service center too, torcente motors Bangalore..

Dear Brother, i have purchased gixxer 15 days ago. Suddenly after riding 480km my bike in low RPM like 1200-1500 in first gear there is a hiccup in throttle. It feels like engine is not getting fuel. The problem was serious in high rpm also. After taking it to showroom they just broke my heart by taking out my new bike carburetor. They said the fuel was problematic so they dumped all fuel and They cleaned it at re setup that. After that hiccup problem is gone almost but still it exist in low rpm gear shifting time.. Can you olz say somethinh in rply abt this issue

What should be the ideal idle RPM for the 200? I have bought a new 2.0 and the factory set idle RPM is around 1800-2000 range. I also feel power lag when riding at lower gears and slow speeds. Thank you.

Try to maintain the idle around 1500 RPM. What's your present tune? You can also get it adjusted and tuned from the authorized service 😊
I just came across this video after 5 years of you uploading it and I regret not coming across it earlier. I was looking to get some info on how I could increase the performance of my almost 14 years old bone stock Karisma R which has been very tastefully maintained. I found your video so simple yet so informative! But still I had a question in my mind which I think you'd be able to answer well and I'll be glad if you do. So now after all these years of keeping my motorcycle in stock condition I want to do some upgrades to it. I was thinking about getting a performance cone air filter for better air flow and a performance carburettor to maintain the fuel to air intake ratio. But I do not want to get a full free flow exhaust setup. Do you think it is advisable to use a free flow air filter and a carburettor with the company exhaust ? will it affect my engine in a bad way ?

@The sportztourer - I have done carborator setting for my pulsar 150. For few days it went well. But after some days again it has started giving mileage problem. Got carborator setting done again but after some days again mileage problem will starts. What could be the issue here. Pls help
Check the spring of air screw, insufficient screw tension will cause the screw to loose its position due to vibration. You can replace the screw set completely since only spring is difficult to find.
The video was good and nice but there was lack of few informations, as we have to increase the idle rpm before closing the mixture nut and turn the screw anti-clock till the rpm is high enough and stable

But now I don't how much it'll give. I'm feeling bit laggy it misses at 4-5k rpm when I give full throttle

its runs rich at three turns. Maybe somewhere between 2.5-3 turns. Personally i run rich afr. Its smoother and feels more torquey.
