    • @thesportztourer

      Hi Nikhil,
      There is a strainer present above the drain bolt. Its a mesh type strainer secured by two screws. You can get access to it by opening the oil drain bolt holding plate.
      I remember opening it but nothing much was found in the name of filtered material.

      If the cap is closed properly and the bottle is stored in a dry shaded place then the oil should remain good for a long time; atleast till your next oil change (which should be in 6-12 months under normal use).

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank +Alok Bargali for the appreciation.
      Well you can change the oil filter without draining the engine oil but there would be some oil loss. I have done it once on my 180 & had to top up some 100+ml of oil.
      The trick is to park the bike a bit tilted so that very little oil seeps out. Do the filter change on a cold engine.
      All the best 👍

    Here in Colombia user's manual recommends 20W50, should I stick with it or can I change viscosity? And one more question, I've using Liqui Moly 15W50 semi synthetic oil on my Apache 180 for like a year now and I change the oil (included oil filter) every 6000 km as the oil manufacturer said, but now, from nowhere my gearbox got uncomfortable and it became hard to switch gears, did I messed up my bike by changing the oil every 6000 km as Liqui Moly said? 😅 But I did refill the oil deposit with new oil every now and then, never ride the bike with low engine oil, always at the maximum.

    • @hiteshadhikari
      @hiteshadhikari 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      U can move slightly from recommended viscosity like here they say 10w30 but most people do 10w40 and i have experimented with some wild changes too ( not recommended)
      But do change oil like at 4000-5000 kms even for fully synthetic, oil is cheap, tranny is expensive.

    • @hiteshadhikari
      @hiteshadhikari 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also make sure in the try to keep oil max, u dont overfill it, that is another problem, anywhere from max to min is fine,

  • @deepakalfred2962

    Hey, I just wanted to know whether the motorcycle engine oil dipstick be hand tightened to the max or should nose pliers be used for the job... I was wondering because the service centre guy used pliers or something to tighten it last time. There are hard markings on the engine oil dipstick.

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Deepak,
      Thumb and Index finger tight is more than enough.
      No need for pliers! Ask them to use a cloth over the dipstick head before using pliers, this will avoid permanent marks.

    Hello sir,
    Thanks for this video. My bike's out of warranty and now I have to do everything myself.
    About 3 months ago, there was a rattling noise in the engine and the mechanic at the dealership dealt with it. I was not allowed in the garage and he told me it was the valves that needed realignment.

      TVS TRU4 fully synthetic oil is a very good oil (highly recommended) but shell ultra, motul 7100/300v are superior. I would say TVS oil is a bang on value for money oil, don't go for other brands unless you have heavy usage.

      Hi Aditya,
      I am using 10w40 fully synthetic oil on my RTR 180 for the last 50k+km with zero issues with the engine, clutch or gearbox. Similarly my RTR 200 is running on 10w40 fully synthetic oil for more than 12k km.
      TVS tru4 fully synthetic is good for normal regular use.
      If you desire to go for a better oil and you have city use then Motul 7100 10w40 will be my pick (have used this oil for my Indore ride). If you ride at high RPMs then the Motul 300V 10w40 will be my pick (have given a detailed technical review with my experience on the Rajasthan ride series).

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ayush, Motul 5100 is a semi synthetic oil, you can use that but do keep in mind that TVS recommends fully synthetic oil.
      No harm in using semi synthetic oil just note that the oil change interval should be sooner do not use semi synthetic oils more than 3000km if your usage is heavy.
      About Motul 5100, I found it to be one of the best semi synthetic oils available in the market today.

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Ayush Shukla No problem with 10w40, infact 10w40 has better high temperature performance than 10w30. A 10w40 oil will give better engine protection at high temperature stress riding condition like traffic/high speed riding.
      Honda has got fully synthetic oil in 10w30 grade for CBR250R, you can get it from their service station.
      TVS TRU4 Fully synthetic is an another good option.
      Hope this helps.

      @Ayushukla7 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Sportztourer thanks for the reply......but then I don't understand if 10w40 is better oil than why tvs recommend 10w30 ?

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Ayush Shukla A lot of factors come in play when deciding on a particular grade or design to be used on a bike. If you see manufacturer maintain a balance between quality, cost & performance.
      If 10w30 oil meets all the requirements plus gives a wee bit of less resistance then it's good to use. Nothing wrong in using better quality oil just remember not to change the '10' in 10w40 or 10w40.

      That service reminder is based on km covered from the last time it was reset. You can easily reset it now by following these steps: th-cam.com/video/wxD6lTQSbow/w-d-xo.html

Filter Out and Cranck Ur engine Many Time..... with out key on ingnition..There is much oil into oil cooler radiator.... And 200ml jar never give accurate 200 ml engine oil.... cause its engine oil.... Measure your 200 ml engine oil from Engine Oil Container which have 200 ml ~ 1l indicator.....🙂🙂😉

    Hi bro🙂, My RTR 200 has done it's 5th service and has ridden 5k kms. The last oil change I had was 10 months back and the bike has only been ridden for 400-500 kms as I went out of town. Now I am resuming my ride. Do I have to change the oil or will it spare me some kms to ride.
    A reply with a proper solution would be very thankful. Looking forward to it.☺️

      Hi,
      If you are planning to go for a ride then it would be better if you change the oil. Used engine oils tend to oxidize over long time & oil companies recommend change after 1 year.

      Thank you so much for the informative advice. Actually I will be doing a trip from my hometown i.e. Kolkata to Delhi approx 1500kms solo. So It's better to change right? And since this would be my first solo and a ride so long I would really need a lot of suggestions regarding many queries. Hope you will be there for my help☺️😊

      Kolkata to Delhi 👍 happy to know you are doing it on the RTR.
      All the best for the ride, enjoy & ride safe!

      Ha ha ha.. it not nervousness I call it excitement 😊
      No need to cover 1000km in a day, you are not doing it to prove anything to anyone. Try to ride in daylight & find a stay when the sun goes down (best for solo rides).
      Relax & enjoy your ride. Keep you self hydrated & you will reach your destination with a happy face 😊
      All the best & do let me know once you complete the ride 👍

      Hi Biswajit,
      3500-4000km under medium to heavy use. Aap thoda aur extend kar sakte ho par performance phele jaisa nahi milega 😊
