  • Controlling RGB lighting on your PC, AMD Wraith Primism Cooler, and various components is a critical need for many. In this video, we will overview the software you may need to do this and run other some of the recommended RGB ecosystems. OpenRGB for Linux is also featured in this video.
The Wraith Prism Cooler is actually a Cooler Master product so if you have issues finding the software specifically for your motherboard cooler master does have their own software.
Most motherboard manufacturers have their own RGB control software. You can check out them all below. If you are having issues finding software for your device please ensure you search the specific model number.
    Mainstream RGB Software:
    ASRock Polychrome RGB
    Asus Aura Sync
    Gigabyte RGB Fusion
    MSI Mystic Light
Additional peripherals will often be bundled with their own software:
    Razer Chroma
    Corsair iCUE
    OpenRGB by CalcProgrammer1

It doesn't perform very well tho. I changed out this cooler for an NZXT all in one liquid cooler, and my temps went from 90 degrees under overclocked load to 40 degrees, with the same overclock.
Just for reference, here are some other specs:
      CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x (overclocked to 4.6GHz)
      GPU: RTX 2070

I just got my first custom rig/dream computer (not to mention my first truly new/first owner computer since 2007!) about a month ago with RGB front panel and 4x120mm fans plus an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and the AMD Wraith Prism on an MSI A-520 Pro motherboard with an XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition OC+ GPU and 2x8 corsair vengeance lpx ddr4 RAM (over 2k in total, not including another 100+ on external hardware components.) and, while I was sure I could at least change the color of my prism, I had no idea just how much I could do with that lighting until now.
    Many thanks.

    Great video. Thanks.
I have my Prism mounted upside-down, so that i can have the long cables (rgb & usb) come out the top of the cooler and immediately disappear in the cable-management-void.
These cables are long enough that generally they can come back out at the bottom of the case, barely showing themselves.
This upside-down mounting also has the fan cable come out the bottom of the cooler, and this cable runs nicely alongside my ram up to the fan header without excess wire length.

Aha! That's how it connects! I grabbed one from a local computer shop because I was waiting for the adapter for my Noctua to come from Germany, and they gave me a used Wraith for 10 bucks. Works great, but didn't have that USB cable with it. Guess I need to get one. Definitely don't need the Noctua for this build as it runs much cooler than my old hot potato. So I can throw it back in the old rig and build my folks a PC.

Hi Great informative video but the question remains like an elephant in the room Why does the software not recognize the cooler when attached to the the motherboards specific connector? I have a feeling its not supposed to, I think if you use the motherboard pins, you have to use the motherboard manufacturers software. But I would love to save my USB slot for the external computer USB connector, but I have to say even without the software the fans colour scheme is really good. But if you know the real reason why the specific header on the motherboard fails to recognise the prism I would love to know

The soft ware isn’t working on my cooler, it kinda recognises it’s there as the lights flicker when I press on a settting but the setting I entered doesn’t show, any ideas?

I'm planning on using a Coolermaster MasterBox case that comes with 2 cooler master rgb fans. Can I control the rgb fans through the same software as the prism's?

Hi! I am having issues where the fan color wont change from anything except green or red to white. Its either fully red. Fully green or whitish. I have tried using both the cooler master app and the asus app but neither seem to be able to get it to work correctly. So right now it is sitting as a white greenish color.

I'm fairly sure that I either lost, or my cpu cooler didn't come with the USB cable. Is there a specific type of cable that I buy as a replacement?
