    Quick reminder to my pc brothers having trouble with locking the lever. If it takes too much force, and you afraid it will snap, just losen the brackets on the motherboard a little bit, and it will snap on just fine. After that, re-tighten them 4 screws just enough, don't over do it. The heatpipes design leave you with enough room to get a screw driver down

  • @Jondayzz

    That lever really does take a man's crank to flip it to locked, I was sure I was breaking it my first time.

    The mounting system isn't frustrating. You just fell like you're going to smash your CPU when you are locking the lever down due to how much force is needed. I prefer the two latch system over the other Wraith coolers. Installing the Wraith Stealth was frustrating due to the plate that goes beneath the motherboard and then you have to screw 4 screws into it.

    ArticSilver 5 is a bad choice to use for thermal paste for Ryzen chips. It is so viscous that if you ever go to remove the Wraith cooler, you will likely pull up the CPU even though the locked lever is down. This is not something you want to do (easy to damage those delicate gold pins this way). The other trick as far as getting the clips on is to get the shorter clip, the one without the lever, on first. Then make sure that the Cooler is between, perfectly between, the two black plastic retaining clips before you attach the longer clip. And you do want to have that lever in the position demonstrated in the video.

    • @TechIlliterate
      @TechIlliterate  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had this experience...sans the chip removed from the socket. Have had a hard time removing the cooler, wraith and aio block.

    I want to lose the fan a little bit do you have any idea about that, it has a clip so I couldn't find any way of doing that, and don't think those screws have to do anything with that. If someone has any idea please comment ASAP.

  • @greatunz67
    @greatunz67 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Went wrong from the first step, numerous tests have shown the single dot method with the thermal paste is no good, it doesn't give full coverage, the best way is the butter spreading method, you put a little bigger blob than that on and with a small squeegee (they come with most thermal pastes) you smear it in smooth lines until the entire sqaure of the cpu is covered in a thin layer.

    What if my stock cooler is Wraith stealth and wanted to change to Prism? Should I remove the motherboard to mount the brackets or I can do it without having to remove the motherboard? Wraith stealth uses 4 screws instead of brackets.
